control it

As the claws dug more into his throat, the demon blood took over. Inuyasha could feel the lust for blood growing as his true self sank beneath it. The large dragon demon registered the change as well and the claws dug even tighter. Inuyasha barely registered the arrow digging into the demon pinning him. Inuyasha grinned ferally, demons quickly fell beneath his lethal claws. But even with the violent swings he took at them, the demons rose back up anyways. Inuyasha roared with rage and charged at them. “Inuyasha!” Miroku called out. His voice didn’t register in Inuyasha’s crazed mind. The sutra that fixed itself to his back did though. As hard as he tried, he couldn’t move. He snarled viciously and struggled against the sutra’s hold. Another one was slapped onto his back.

He watched in fury as his prey fell before him by arrows. The pink trail that followed the arrow’s path struck a note of familiarity in his mind but the anger at having his prey taken from him overruled it. He barely noticed that the prey that was felled by the sacred arrows didn’t arise again. He gave another feral snarl and broke free of the sutras. He bounded to the figure that was taking away his prey and bared his fangs. A barrier of some sort almost sent him sprawling on his back but his demonic grace let him flip over and land on both feet. He glared at the person standing before him.

“Inuyasha?” the melodic voice held a note of surprise. The voice’s owner was beautiful and had long ebony hair that was tied back at the nape of her neck, her mahogany eyes were cold and hard and she wore the red and white garb of a priestess. She drew her arrow and pointed it at him. Or actually, at the demon behind him. The demon let out a shriek as it was purified by the sacred arrow that sprouted from its chest.

“what has happened to him?” the surprise in the her voice was gone, instead it was now cold and icy. Her eyes flicked to the rusty sword lying in the middle if the clearing and she answered her own question, “It’s the sword is it not? It must control Inuyasha’s demon blood.”

Inuyasha’s snarl drew her eyes back to them. “so that means that once the tetsaiga is back in Inuyasha’s hand he will come out of this……interesting state,” she spoke to three figures that stood behind him. “Quite right Lady Kikyo but what do you propose to do?” the male with deep violet blue eyes and a short ponytail asked. This meaningless babble was of no concern to Inuyasha. He growled and leapt at the priestess. She merely narrowed her eyes at him and held her index and middle finger in front of her face. She thrust the fingers out from her face and Inuyasha went flying. He gave a snarl of animalistic fury and lunged at her. Sutras again fixed themselves to his back, this time there was 5.

“Those sutras won’t hold him for long.” The male said

“Miroku, we need to get the testaiga!” a girl with a high chestnut colored ponytail spoke urgently, her magenta lidded eyes wide.

“Well that’s easy!” the little child said confidently, but the scared way the emerald eyes looked at Inuyasha betrayed the child’s tone. He scampered away to where the sword lay on the ground.

‘Shippo look out!” the girl shouted as a baboon materialized by the sword. The red headed boy gave a small squeak of fright and automatically changed direction.

“hehe” the white pelted baboon chuckled, “Did you really think that I would make it that easy?”

“Naraku.” the name escaped the priestess’s lip in the form of a hate filled hiss.

“Ah, kikyo. Come to be betrayed by your love once more?” the baboon lifted its hood revealing its true face. Wavy ebony tresses flowed around a handsome sinister face that was accented by sapphire rimmed crimson eyes.

“What are you talking about Naraku?” the Monk snapped

“How do you think Inuyasha will feel when he finds out that he killed all of his friends including his dear priestess?” Naraku hissed menacingly.

“So you will just stand there and watch as I am killed? Or did you forget that you can not harm me Onigumo?” The scorn in Kikyo’s voice was unmistakable.

“but you forget, it will not be me who is doing the harm.” Naraku smirked and grabbed the tetsaiga. He disappeared in a swirl of purple miasma.

` All this time, Inuyasha was fighting the power of the sutras. He gave one big snarl and the sutras broke. The people all spun around, Inuyasha could smell the intoxicating scent of fear. The girl grabbed a large boomerang, the male gripped his staff and fell into a fighting stance, the boy cowered behind a large cat demon but the priestess merely stood there, her bow limply at her side. He gave a loud growl and charged them. The girl gave a grunt of surprise as his claws raked the large demon bone boomerang she hastily threw up to protect her face. “Inuyasha!” she cried out. The monk shoved the girl out of the way as Inuyasha lunged at her again. He flung another sutra at him. It stung but other than that, did no harm. His crimson eyes with the teal irises narrowed, he now saw them as a threat.

The human’s eyes widened in fear when they saw the predatory gleam in his eyes. The monk visibly swallowed and he stepped in front of the demon slayer. The kitsune cowered behind the transformed neko but the priestess merely watched him through narrowed eyes.

“Miroku! We need Kagome to sit him! It’s worked before hasn’t it?” the demon slayer spoke in a hushed whisper

“ You mean the rosary?” the priestess spoke in a sharp voice

“why yes lady kikyo. Why?” the monk looked around at her in surprise. That was when Inuyasha chose to strike. The monk barely had time to block the deadly claws with his staff. The monk swore loudly. “Heh. I thought monks weren’t allowed to swear.” Inuyasha gave an evil smirk. “ I forgot that you were still intelligent when you are in this form.” The monk panted. Inuyasha answered with his claws. Miroku blocked him again, his eyes widening at the ominous crack. The staff in the monk’s hands broke, split in the middle. He held the two halves in his hands, staring at them in shock. Inuyasha’s claws ripping through his chest barely registered in his mind. Before Inuyasha could administer the death blow, a large boomerang thrust itself in front of him.

“Miroku!” the monk’s name escaped the slayer’s lips in a torn sound. Inuyasha could smell the salt from her tears. “Inuyasha, I know you’re in there but I CAN”T let you hurt Miroku.”

Inuyasha snarled at her and launched himself at her. The girl grunted against her boomerang as she tried to fend off all his weight and demon speed. She fell on her back the boomerang with Inuyasha squatting on it landing on her stomach; he could hear a crack which meant that a few of her ribs had cracked. “sango!” the little kitsune ran at him. Inuyasha merely batted him aside. The large neko looked at him in confusion. Inuyasha could smell her uncertainty and deemed her as not a threat. That left the priestess. He now knew that merely running at her would not frighten her. He walked slowly and purposely toward her, much like how a predator stalks its prey. She continued to watch him through narrowed eyes. He quelled the blood lust as he walked right to her face. She calmly gazed into his crazed eyes and a strong emotion flitted across her eyes before she uttered one word, “beloved.”

Inuyasha felt a tug at his neck as the necklace lit up the all he saw was the ground rushing at him then black.
