Inuyasha managed to get them out of the bag and away from the camp without waking the others. Gathering

the discarded clothing they made their way to the nearby spring. His eyes drank in the sight of Kagome kissed

by moonlight. Bearing his mark and traces of his loving. He watched with satisfaction as the milky tendril of

their combined fluids trickled across her flesh.

He supposed that it was a male thing, perhaps demon male thing. Kagome felt his hot gaze on her bare

flesh and shivered slightly. More from his presence than the cold. He seemed to know that, for he smirked at

her wickedly.

Kagome shoved her bashfulness aside and entered the steaming water. The heat soothed the new aches in

her body. All caused by him. Still, the ache of not having him seemed a thousand times worse and now that was

over. She was marked and mated and this made her happy. Happy but uncertain.

She knew that inu's were extremely territorial and loved to dominate. She was fine with these things,

she liked his dominance, it soothed some primal part of her. However, had he already displayed his limits or

would they increase now that the claim was open? Somehow she thought they might.

She pretended not to notice when he slipped into the water behind her, she carefully focused herself on

the cleaning of her body. Inuyasha watched her actions for long minutes before he growled softly. The unspoken

command to come to him. Her reaction was instinctive and made him smile.

She paused a foot before him and waited, he merely slid behind her and wrapped his arms around her. She

closed her eyes as he sniffed her, nuzzling as he went. Ah, yes, his scent clung to her like a second skin. Any

male would smell him on her, in her. Her mark was merely the visual warning. By scent alone, she was his.

She shivered at his hands trailed down her sides, and he nipped at her shoulder. "You smell good

Kagome" he told her and she peered over her shoulder at him. He chuckled, "Yeah, you smell like me, any demon

will be able to tell that I've had you".

Her cheeks flamed, he grinned at that, pulling her closer to him, "That's right. There is no other male

that can touch you, well one... but he doesn't count". Kagome covered his hand with her own as it wandered over

her breast. "What does that mean?" she asked, trying to concentrate. He was making it most difficult.

His warm breath teased against her ear when he whispered to her, "No other male can touch you now. You

belong to me" he told her. She nodded, understanding that, "You said one other, what does that mean?" she

clarified. He grunted, "Well according to demon law, Sesshoumaru can also touch, but you're human, so you can

rule that out". She nodded.

A pair of golden eyes narrowed from the nearby foliage. His scent perfectly masked. He'd seen the whole

thing in the camp. Heard every word here in this spring. "I am never easily ruled out" he said at last. His

clear baritone falling like ice around them.

Inuyasha growled roughly and shoved Kagome behind him. "What the hell do you want bastard?" he shot at

his older sibling. Sesshoumaru stepped into the silver light, looking every inch the demi-god he was. He wore

no expression as usual. Kagome shrank against the stones, why was he here? Of all nights why?

Sesshoumaru let his gaze flicker over her, the mark she bore. "Your bite will scar you know. It will

not leave the mark of a true demon" he stated. Inuyasha blinked at him for a moment, before crouching to

spring. "What the hell do you mean by that?" he asked. Sesshoumaru looked bored, "Pure bloods like myself do

not leave a simple scarring of fangs on our chosen.

Surely you saw the moon on your mother" he said. Inuyasha thought about that. He'd once spied a small

moon on his mother's body. Was this the mark? Sesshoumaru chuckled softly, "Sad little brother, but your mark

hardly holds water in youkai court, she may as well not be mated at all".

Inuyasha growled, a menacing sound, "So what's your point? Why are you here hidin like some pervert in

the bushes?" It was Sesshoumaru's turn to growl. "I merely came to see how badly you can perform Inuyasha". The

hanyou snarled and lunged only to be flung back against the rough bark of a tree.

Sesshoumaru eyed him coldly, "Pitiful and now, nothing stands between me and your mate. Foolish

Inuyasha, you have left her open to attack". Red lidded gold eyes settled on the small woman. "Come here miko"

he commanded softly. She shook her head in the negative.

Sesshoumaru growled softly to her, warning her against defying him. "Come to me woman". Again she shook

her head. Inuyasha was pulling himself off the ground. "Get the hell away from her asshole. She doesn't belong

to you". Sesshoumaru surprised them with a small smile, "That brother mine, is where you are wrong"

Sesshoumaru remained between Inuyasha and Kagome. The hanyou highly agitated with the turn of events. "Youkai law states that anyone of your bloodline may take her as well" he pointed out. Kagome gasped slightly and he chuckled, "That's right miko. I can have you anytime I wish"

Inuyasha suddenly folded his arms over his chest. "What are you getting at?" Sesshoumaru was obviously up to something and he wanted to know that that might be. Sesshoumaru smirked at his brother's newly found reserve. "Good Inuyasha I see that you are capable of learning" he commented.

Inuyasha growled and barked for Kagome to come to him. she tried but Sesshoumaru's arm shot out and pulled her against his body. "You will hear me out now" he growled at Inuyasha. Kagome stared at the water, not sure what to do. If she struggled there was no guarantee that the pure youkai would not kill her. Of course she had no guarantees as it was.

At least she was somewhat covered by his billowing sleeves. She shivered with fright and cold and was surprised when the taiyoukai gently tightened his hold on her, allowing her his body heat. "Naraku has been watching you closely" he announced. Inuyasha's ear flickered. "What's that?"

Sesshoumaru nodded toward the trees, "Your dead bitch was his spy, his eyes so to speak. He learned a great deal about your little pack with her" he said. Inuyasha growled slightly and looked at the ground. "He will come for the miko Inuyasha and you are not strong enough to stop him on your own".

Inuyasha grunted," And you care because?". Sesshoumaru smoothed his hair back over one shoulder before dropping his arm around Kagome again. "I don't" he said coldly, "However you cannot afford to let the girl or the jewel fall into his hands...again"

Inuyasha hated to admit it but his bastard brother was right. "And?" he pressed. Sesshoumaru blinked, "I propose that your pack take shelter in the palace of the west. It is heavily guarded and none there have need or want of the cursed shards". That was all true.

Inuyasha looked at his little mate, held against his brother's might. "And what does she have to do with this?" he asked. Sesshoumaru trailed a clawed hand down her body. "Terms of our agreement. I get to have her as well. In exchange you have my protection but more importantly she does". Inuyasha's brow furrowed.

Sesshoumaru could see his confusion and spoke again, "As a hanyou your mark is worthless. No one will abide by it and your female is fetching, if human. There are many who want her. Your claim will be ignored. Mine however will not". Inuyasha also knew that this was true.

"So you just want to use her until the battle is over?" he asked. Kagome's eyes were wide with shock, how could they talk about it so casually? Sesshoumaru chuckled, "No Inuyasha, I want permanent access to her" he said.

Inuyasha could do little more than stutter. "And when you wish to mate?" he asked. Sesshoumaru shrugged, "There is no need. She will suffice. Mikos are believe to be capable of bearing full demon children. Did you know that Inuyasha? That your own seed will be pure though you are not?" Inuyasha had heard of that.

Inuyasha wasn't sure what was happening now. Maybe he'd dreamed it all, Kagome was really in her sleeping bag as virginal as ever. He was in his tree. That made more sense than this weirdo that looked and smelled like his brother.

"Your answer Inuyasha" Sesshoumaru prompted. Inuyasha caught Kagome's gaze and knew she was just dying to speak, of course that might be one word, bellowed over and over again until his spine snapped in two. "It's up to her" he said. There was no shame in youkai sharing a woman, it was done often actually. It just chapped his ass that it was Sesshoumaru.

Sesshoumaru lowered his gaze to Kagome. "Tell me then Kagome" he urged. Her face was a bright red and her breath came in angry pants. Sesshoumaru had dealt with indignant females before. Leaning close to her ear, he whispered to her softly, "Or perhaps your body shall answer for you". His clawed hand slid downwards, barely concealed in his sleeve.

Kagome gasped as he cupped her, then his fingers slipped between the folds, to find her wetness waiting for him. He smirked and grunted, "I think that is a yes. Let's make sure shall we?". Inuyasha wanted to growl and grumble as his brother clearly touched HIS Kagome, yet he couldn't. There was something utterly enticing about seeing her in his arms.

Sesshoumaru listened to the small panting breaths of the human woman as he stroked her. Lifting his eyes to Inuyasha, he dipped his fingers into her tight channel, seeking that spongy ridge of tissue. She yelped when he found it and he tightened his arm around her waist to keep her upright.

Inuyasha started forward at the small sound, but Sesshoumaru stopped him with a look. Kagome was writhing against the Taiyoukai now, her whimpers lifting into the night. She tensed against him, her head falling back and he rumbled softly to her, dipping his head to brush his nose against her throat.

Slowly, he withdrew his fingers and held them up the moonlight. They glimmered with her release. Golden eyes locked with golden eyes and he smirked, "I believe this is a yes. Go wake the others, we leave at once" he told Inuyasha. Peering down at Kagome he nuzzled her cheek, noticing her slight tears.

"He thinks no less of you. This is the way things are done in our world. Now you are also a part of it and I will have you before dawn breaks" he whispered to her.
