AN:
Wow… I’m really flattered with all of the positive reaction from the first chapter! Thank you Marlingrl, catt, Faye, azurephoenix, Rachie, swasdiva, bayusandiw, Rei, InuGrrrl and morlana for your reviews. I’m going to try to update this story on a weekly basis, but I have a job that sometimes gets hectic with scheduling (like next week). I’ll try to find time to get the next chapter out sometime next week or the week after.

Chapter Warning: It gets a little gory in the first part of this chapter, so my apologies if it’s offensive in anyway.

Thank you!

Full Blood
Chapter Two: Dreaming

Kagome exited the wooden shed that encased the old well, yawning and stretching her arms high over her head. It was just past daybreak, and Kagome bet that her family would be surprised to see her back from the Feudal Era so early in the morning. She couldn’t wait to tell them that Naraku had been finally defeated and hopefully her own life could soon return to normal.

Well, as long as Kagome’s future normal life consisted of a few trips to the Feudal Era and back. Even though the fall of Naraku meant that it was time for her to finally get back to a high school student, Kagome had felt a great sense of reluctance to simply let go of the life she had with Inuyasha and the others. Kagome still had weekends free, after all. Unless her school made her go through a tutoring program for missing so many classes.

Kagome groaned at the thought. ‘I’m so behind right now that I’ll probably be sitting next to Souta in class before long. How embarrassing!’

School aside, it had never felt so good for Kagome to be home. She dashed up to her house and slid open the front door, poking her head inside almost timidly. “Mom, I’m home!” Kagome shouted out before walking inside, sliding the door shut behind her and kicking off her shoes next to the entry way. “I have so much to tell you! You’re not going to believe what happened!”

Several seconds passed with complete silence, leaving Kagome quite confused as to why she hadn’t received an answer. Her mother and grandfather had always made a habit of getting up early every morning. She furrowed her ebony eyebrows in confusion, walking into the living room. “Where is everyone?” Kagome asked herself as she saw no evidence of her family inside.

Kagome left the living room and ascended the staircase to the second floor, checking each of her family members’ bedrooms. Each room she had checked was vacant of life, and what Kagome found even more worrying was that their beds hadn’t even been slept in. Kagome even gave her own bedroom a glance, even though the chance of anyone being inside was slim to none. No one inside. Kagome ran down the hallway and descended back down the stairs, her breath coming in quick pants from anxiety. Where was her family?!

“Mom, Souta, Grandpa!” Kagome called out more loudly, nearly shrieking in panic. “Please answer me! Where are you guys?!”

Finally, Kagome received an answer. “We’re in the dining room, dear.”

Kagome’s entire body relaxed as she sighed in relief, holding her hands over her chest to try and contain her overworked heart. They were okay! Kagome shook her head at her frantic actions, blaming her paranoia on all of the time she had spent back in the Feudal Era. ‘I’m definitely going to have to spend less time there,’ she thought as she walked down the hallway. Kagome stopped just before the door that led into the dining room, placing her hands upon the handle.

“You had me so worried!” Kagome shouted in a scolding tone, throwing the door open and entering the dining room. “I was calling for you and no one would an…swer…”

Abruptly, Kagome dropped down to her knees on the floor, her chocolate eyes wide. “N…No…”

It was a hideous sight. The walls, floor, ceiling and decorations within the dining room were spattered with blood. On the floor, several feet from where Kagome sat, the bodies of Souta and her grandfather could hardly been distinguished due to how badly they had been mangled. However, due to the size of each body, Kagome could tell to whom those bodies belonged. She could already feel the bile building in her throat.

“Inuyasha,” Kagome choked out in a pained whisper, grabbing her green skirt tightly within her fists as her tears splattered down her face. “Why…why did you…do this?”

The face that Kagome saw was wearing a look of utter amusement, staring at her with eyes that would have been more fitting on Naraku than on Inuyasha. A mocking chuckle erupted from the inu youkai’s throat as he gripped the bloody head of Kagome’s dearly departed mother by the hair in one of his hands. “This is punishment for leaving me, Kagome. It was necessary to teach you a lesson for abandoning me like that.”

Inuyasha dropped Kagome’s mother’s head on to the floor, the sickening thump making the young girl snap.

“You didn’t have to kill my family!” Kagome cried out, pulling her hands from her skirt and slamming her palms down on the hardwood floor of her dining room. “They thought of you as family, too! They welcomed you into our home! They loved you! Souta…Souta saw you as an older brother and my mom thought of you like a son!”

“So?” Inuyasha snorted, walking towards Kagome in quick and loud steps. “They were living on borrowed time, anyway. As long as they had remained alive, you would have been torn between them and me.” He gave Kagome a twisted smirk. “It was a problem that was due to be…taken care of.”

Before Kagome could react or run, Inuyasha closed the distance between them with frightening speed, using his body to pin Kagome’s down on to the bloody floor. His hands quickly grasped Kagome’s wrists, forcing them up over her head and pinning them roughly to the floor. Inuyasha stared into Kagome’s wide eyes, grinning widely, pressing his already hard groin against Kagome’s crotch. “You’re all mine now, Kagome.”

“No!” Kagome cried, frantically pushing and bucking her body up against Inuyasha’s to try and force him off. “I didn’t agree to any of this! Let me go, please, Inuyasha!”

Kagome’s actions were all in vain, serving to only excite Inuyasha more. The inu youkai’s blood flowed faster, hotter, and he desired the girl even more with every action she made to try and get away from him. Growling, Inuyasha crushed his lips down against Kagome’s, kissing her so roughly that it was simply painful. Kagome simply lay there and didn’t return the kiss, only whining against his lips and hoping that somehow, Inuyasha would come to his sense and he would just stop.

But in Kagome’s heart, she knew he wasn’t going to.

Inuyasha’s lips descended from Kagome’s lips to her neck, harshly and unmercifully biting at her soft skin. As he drew blood, Inuyasha darted his pink tongue out to capture every single crimson droplet that came from his bites, humming in apparent liking to the taste. Kagome hissed and whined, sobbing quietly with more tears staining her flushed cheeks. Her body stopped moving against Inuyasha’s in attempts to get him off, and simply lay there and allowed the youkai to do as he pleased with her.

She wasn’t going to get away, not from Inuyasha.

Sensing Kagome’s submission, Inuyasha dropped his hands from her wrists and slashed his claws at her clothing in careless anticipation. With her clothes in shreds around their bodies, Inuyasha placed his rough hands upon her body and began traveling them over every single exposed inch. Kagome shut her eyes tightly and bit down on her bottom lip. In those moments of his hands on her body, it had almost felt good, and feeling any sort of pleasure from the beast that killed her family made Kagome feel sick.

‘You fool! He killed everyone who you loved, and you’re still lovesick over him!’

Abruptly, Inuyasha grabbed on to Kagome’s breasts painfully hard, making her cry out loudly. He tilted his head forward, pressing his lips against her ear and whispering huskily, making Kagome shiver. “From this day on, you’re gonna listen to everything I say, got it?”

Kagome pressed her lips together and nodded, daring to open her eyes to stare at Inuyasha. She was far too afraid to speak and even mildly surprised herself that she had managed to do anything other than lay there and cry. This wasn’t what Kagome wanted, but she couldn’t fight against Inuyasha as he was now. She didn’t have the heart to anymore, and she knew that it would be a vain attempt without being able to ‘sit’ him.

Kagome’s entire body tensed as Inuyasha slid down her body to kneel between her legs and hearing the sound of rustling clothes. It could have been her opportunity to get up and run, perhaps time enough to even try to summon the power she held within her priestess abilities to strike back at Inuyasha. However, Kagome seemed to be petrified, not daring to move unless Inuyasha made her do so.

She even lay there as Inuyasha grabbed her thighs and yanked her legs apart.

‘I…am Inuyasha’s now…’ Kagome thought bitterly, shutting her eyes as more tears dropped down from them. ‘It was always what you wanted, right, Kagome? For Inuyasha to look at you instead of Kikyo.’

Kagome’s jaw slacked, her mouth falling open as she felt the head of Inuyasha’s cock press against her virgin entrance.

‘And when he’s finally looking, I just want him to look away!’

“Inuyasha, NO!” Kagome screamed in horrified anguish, her body jerking upward into a sitting position. Her breath came in quick, hard pants and her heart pounded loudly within her chest. Kagome’s hair clung to her face and neck as her entire body was covered with a coat of sweat. Her chocolate eyes were wide yet unseeing, her body rapidly trembling as if she had been captured in a terrible cold.

It had been a dream.

Had all of it been a dream?

‘No, not all of it.’ Kagome swallowed the lump that had made residence in her throat and sighed. Her shoulder still pulsed with pain, even though it was now more of a dull pain than anything else. She moved her head to the side and looked down at the claw marks that tore through the shoulder of her school shirt and pierced the skin underneath. Blood had dried on the white fabric of her uniform that surrounded the wounds, and the wounds themselves were now covered by thick, bulky scabs.

Inuyasha was still a youkai.

As uncomfortable of a position as it had been, Kagome had apparently managed to fall asleep over Inuyasha’s shoulder and awoke in the depths of a small cave. The cave was hardly large enough to hold two people inside and not quite tall enough for a person of any height to stand comfortably. It served its purpose, with Kagome having awakened mostly dry, save the fact she was now covered in sweat thanks to her nightmare.

Kagome set one of her hands down on top of the red kimono that lay over the lower portion of her body, smiling softly. Even though her entire body ached from both sleeping on the cave floor and being spent from the chase yesterday, and while she didn’t know what to think of Inuyasha and his new form, Kagome found the kimono placed over her as a blanket somewhat comforting. While it felt like Kagome’s entire world had shifted, at least it appeared that some things haven’t changed.

Could it be possible that even as a youkai, Inuyasha’s heart was in the right place?

Kagome pulled the kimono off of her legs and gathered the red garment up into her arms, hugging it to her chest. She felt so…lost. Everything before had been pretty straight forward and Kagome knew what they were setting out to accomplish every single day; to find shikon shards and/or find Naraku. Occasionally they would be sidetracked, but for the most part, their existences up to this point had been solely those missions. Now, the future felt uncertain and frightening. Kagome had no idea what to expect.

Especially from him.

Kagome was hesitant, but figured that it was time to stop staving off the inevitable. She carefully stood, having to bend slightly at the waist in order to prevent hitting her head, and began approaching out of the only exit of the cave.

‘Inuyasha will not hurt me. He may be youkai…but he’s not a beast.’

Kagome hoped, anyway.

Miroku held the handle of a straw woven basket, which contained several medicinal herbs that Lady Kaede had sent him to retrieve, in his formally cursed right hand. No longer did he have to wear the prayer beads around his palm to contain the curse that Naraku had placed on the men of his family over fifty years ago. As soon as the fatal blow had been dealt, the black hole of the kazaana had shrunk into nothingness, leaving Miroku with a normal right hand.

The burden that had been placed upon Miroku’s shoulders had finally been lifted. He was now free to pursue a future without fear that the curse would one day consume his life. There was an unfortunate side to it, however. With the curse having been lifted, it deprived Miroku of a “valid” excuse of asking gorgeous young women to bare him a son. His head was even more so in free season for Sango’s Hiraikotsu than before.

Well, honestly, the only woman that Miroku wanted to bare his children was Sango, anyway. Perhaps it was time for the lecherous monk to finally stop flirting with every young woman he came across and think about settling down with the taijiya.

As if on cue, a duo of young girls passed by Miroku, causing him to abruptly halt and look over his shoulder to get an eyeful of their firm, round behinds. A smirk appeared on his lips. ‘Ah, it shall be hard to break such an old habit, indeed.’

Oh, Sango was going to beat his skull in with the Hiraikotsu. That much was certain.

Miroku reluctantly pulled his gaze away from the pleasant view, approaching the hut that he, Sango, Shippo, Kohaku and Kouga were temporarily staying in. Kouga and Kohaku were in need of the herbs that Kaede had sent him out for in order for the two to be cured more quickly and efficiently. He hadn’t even taken a step inside of the hut when…

“Kagome! …Bah, it’s just that perverted monk.”

Miroku allowed a small laugh, smiling at the injured wolf youkai. “It’s good to see you as well, Kouga. You are looking much better this morning.” He nodded to Kouga, and then approached Kaede, who was standing near a fire with some odd-smelling (to be polite) concoction boiling in a pan on top of it. He offered the elderly priestess the straw basket. “Here are your herbs, Lady Kaede.”

“You have my thanks, monk,” Kaede murmured, taking the basket from Miroku and tossing certain herbs at specific amounts into her concoction. “I would have retrieved them myself, but it would have taken me much longer with my old bones.”

“Hey, Miroku,” Sango softly called out, who was sitting on her knees next to her sleeping brother, who was bandaged up over his chest and torso. “Did you see any sign of Kagome or Inuyasha in the village? I’m worried that they haven’t returned yet.”

Shrugging his shoulders, Miroku took a place on the floor next to Kaede, folding his arms over his chest. “I didn’t see anything. Though, I wouldn’t waste your worries, Sango.” A devious smirk appeared over his lips. “Now that Naraku has been put to death, Inuyasha and Kagome are probably enjoying each other’s company as lovers normally do.”

Before Sango could slip in a remark about Miroku’s perverted nature, Kouga’s dark hair bristled and he instantly jumped in with a hard glare at the monk.

“Shut the hell up!” Kouga spat with a low growl. “My Kagome would not do anything of the sort with that mutt! She is my mate! If he lays a single fucking hand on her…” Suddenly, Kouga emitted a small whine, placing his hand over one of his legs, bandaged up from having the jewel shard ripped out from it. “That damn mutt. He better not do anything to Kagome.”

Shippo rolled his eyes. ‘He still believes that she loves him even after all of this time? Give me a break. He’s more pathetic than Inuyasha is when waiting for Kagome to come back through the well.’

Kaede hummed low as she contemplated the situation, stirring the herbs around in the pan. “It is quite odd that Kagome and Inuyasha have yet to return. While not unlike Inuyasha to stay away, Kagome at the least would have sent some word by now so as not to worry us.”

The color visibly drained from Kouga’s face as he now wore a look of pure worry. The wolf quickly got up on all fours and crawled over to Kaede. “Hey, granny, are you saying you think that mongrel has put Kagome in some sort of danger?!” Kouga’s blue eyes widened as he began to move in an effort to stand. “I have to go find her! You can’t trust a dog to do anything right!”

Miroku quickly stood, grabbing his staff and smacking the butt of it against Kouga’s back, effortlessly forcing the injured wolf to lie on his stomach on the floor. Miroku looked to Kaede with a raised eyebrow, “You don’t happen to have any tranquilizing herbs, do you, Lady Kaede?”

“Aye, I do,” Kaede replied, humored, looking up to Miroku with a small smile on her face, “I figured the wolf would try something foolish to hinder his recovery, so among the herbs I sent you to get, sleepy grass was one of them.”

“You conniving old wench!” Kouga spat hatefully at the elderly priestess, vainly trying to push Miroku’s staff off of his back. “Let me the hell up you bastard! I’ll tear you all apart! I need to go save Kagome!”

Shippo groaned, shaking his head at Kouga’s antics. Though, Kouga’s bickering was managing to fill a gap left by Inuyasha’s absence with his loud and foolish nature. The young fox youkai stared out the window longingly, up at the beautiful morning sky. ‘Hurry back you guys. I miss you.’

***

Even before she exited the cave, Kagome was greeted with the sight of Inuyasha sitting in front of a small fire that rested a short distance away from the mouth of the cave. He sat on a freshly cut log with his profile facing Kagome, biting down on a claw of one of his thumbs. He appeared to be deep in thought, staring into the depths of the fire and not acknowledging Kagome’s presence. Though, Kagome was sure that Inuyasha knew that she was standing there.

“Um, good morning,” Kagome nervously greeted Inuyasha, hugging his kimono more tightly to her chest. She stared warily at the two purple stripes that marked his cheek and the pointed ear at the side of his head. The visual changes were going to take some getting use to, especially since Kagome had long be fond of the pair of dog ears that stood atop of Inuyasha’s head when he was a hanyou. Perhaps it was rather superficial of her, but Kagome did miss his old ears.

Inuyasha continued to stare into the fire, pulling the claw out from between his teeth and narrowing his golden eyes. “So, I’ve been thinkin’.”

“What were you thinking about?” Kagome inquired warily. She had no idea what was going through Inuyasha’s head now, and a part of her wasn’t sure if she wanted to know. Kagome approached the fire in a few short steps, crouching down in front of it to get the warmth that the gentle flames were giving off. Purposefully, Kagome put a good distance between the inu youkai and herself.

There was no hesitation in Inuyasha’s voice as he said, “We’re gonna go to the Western Region and usurp Sesshomaru.”

Kagome barely caught herself as she about tipped face-first into the fire. “You’re going to what?!” Kagome shrieked, looking towards Inuyasha, who couldn’t have looked more relaxed. Inuyasha had gone completely insane, Kagome decided. There is no way any rational-thinking person would suggest such a crazy idea.

Yet, even past the youkai exterior, this was Inuyasha she was talking to.

“You heard me.” Inuyasha glanced over to Kagome and narrowed his golden eyes dangerously. “Every time Sesshomaru and I cross paths, he makes it a point to make a mockery out of me because I was a hanyou.” He smirked darkly, staring back into the crackling fire. “We’re gonna go to Sesshomaru’s lands and seize the territory that was once my father’s. We’ll take it by force if that bastard decides to put up a fight, which I hope he does. I’ll be more than happy to kill him.”

As Inuyasha tossed a log into a fire, Kagome’s mind scrambled. She knew that in regards with his brother, Inuyasha had long been anxious to settle the score with Sesshomaru. Yes, Sesshomaru had treated him with quite injustice with every meeting and set out to demean him every single time. Even so, that didn’t mean it was a right or smart idea!

“Inuyasha, please think about this!” Kagome pleaded, her voice filled with desperation. “You may be a youkai now, but Sesshomaru has been a youkai his entire life! He’s experienced in battle and has many loyal youkai at his disposal!” Kagome had an incredible amount of belief in Inuyasha, but she was not about to blindly follow him on this ego trip of his. It was suicide, plain and simple. She just prayed that Inuyasha could see that.

Kagome tensed as Inuyasha looked to her, giving her a piercing glare with a very unhappy look on his face. “What are you sayin’? You sound like you have no faith in me whatsoever.” His words were accusatory in tone, very much unsettling Kagome’s already weak nerves in regards to the inu youkai.

“No, I have faith in you! It’s just…” What way could Kagome tell Inuyasha that it was a stupid idea without saying it in those exact words? She wasn’t sure on what ground she stood with Inuyasha at the moment, or she would have told him what she thought, word for word. “…not a good idea, at least not right now! Maybe we can wait for a few weeks or months,” or years, she mentally added, or never.

“I don’t feel like waitin’ a few weeks or months,” Inuyasha spat, pushing himself up and walking over to where Kagome was crouched. He reached down, grabbing one of her upper arms and yanking her up to her feet, Kagome softly yelping in surprise. They stared into each other’s eyes, Inuyasha tilting his head down close to Kagome’s and delivering her a fanged grin. “We’re gonna start heading out tomorrow. And as soon as I take over his territory…”

“Y-Yeah?” Kagome sputtered, finding it very hard to breathe with Inuyasha in such close proximity. Her heart stopped beating for a moment, before it began to pound loudly within her ears.

Inuyasha didn’t answer, the look within his golden eyes becoming soft. He placed each of his clawed hands on Kagome’s cheeks and stepped in closer, until the fronts of their bodies were just lightly pressing against the other. His fangs disappeared to form a gentle smile. Kagome could have sworn she was looking into the eyes of hanyou Inuyasha at that very moment.

“Inuyasha,” Kagome murmured, before Inuyasha’s golden eyes fell closed, dipping his head in towards her face. As Inuyasha’s lips gently moved against Kagome’s it generated a wonderfully electrifying sensation of her lips that shot straight down to her chest and made her heart begin to work in overtime.

Kagome’s eyes fluttered closed as her mind turned to mush and her legs became shaky, wanting to collapse beneath her.

It had taken forever…but Inuyasha was finally kissing her.
