Sesshomaru’s Hide-away
“Let go of me! Put me down, you jerk!”
Kagome had been screaming at Inuyasha’s older brother the entire time. He was still floating through the air. Ah-Un had joined Sesshomaru shortly after he took to the skies. Rin and Jaken were riding Ah-Un, but when they had tried to ask questions, Sesshomaru silenced them with a look.
“Did you hear me? I said let me go,” Kagome yelled from Sesshomaru’s side. He was still holding her around the waist.
“Fine,” Sesshomaru said, allowing amusement to tinge his voice slightly. Without a glance to her, Sesshomaru loosened his grip from around Kagome’s waist. Kagome screamed in absolute terror as the trees of the forest rushed towards her.
Her very life passed before her eyes and tears sprung to them at the thought of never seeing her mother, her brother, or her grandfather ever again. Just as the trees grew to almost their actual size, she started to cry, knowing she would never be able to tell Inuyasha how she truly feels.
She felt the tree branches slap across her body as she fell through the trees. She shut her eyes, waiting for the sudden impact of the forest floor. Instead she felt strong arms grab her waist and lower her to the ground. Opening her eyes to a squint, Kagome looked into Sesshomaru’s face. He had a mischievous light in his eyes, but other than that, his face was emotionless as always.
“Get off me,” Kagome commanded as she pushed away from him. She was surprised when his arms relented, allowing her to pull away from him. Kagome looked up in wonder and thought she saw something pass through his eyes. It was so quick, though, that she put it off as her imagination.
“Where are we?” Kagome was still trying to catch her breath and still her racing heart. Sesshomaru had only made it worse. Kagome avoided looking at her kidnapper and instead studied her surroundings. The trees were completely different from what she was used to seeing in her travels with her friends.
“This is my home,” Sesshomaru told her. Kagome still had her back to him and wasn’t able to see just how intently Sesshomaru was looking at her. Sesshomaru’s amber-colored eyes were focused on Kagome. He was having a hard time thinking straight after having her body pressed so close to his. Giving a silent growl of frustration, Sesshomaru turned away from the mortal. “Come along,” he told her.
Kagome stood where she was with an evil look on her face. “And if I don’t,” she challenged.
“Ah-Un,” he addressed his demon, “Grab her.” Kagome gave him a puzzled look until she felt teeth grip her shirt and pull her up. She looked back to see the Ah side of Ah-Un holding her.
Giving a frustrated sigh, Kagome folded her arms as Ah-Un carried her, following Sesshomaru. Kagome gave a small gasp as she felt herself being led through a barrier of incredible strength, but she didn’t think on it long. Before her now loomed a gorgeously large mansion and a beautiful yard.
Kagome’s feet touched the ground again as Ah-Un placed her down. Kagome watched as he headed off in the direction of what appeared to be a stable. Rin had taken off with Jaken to a small flower garden where she played among the flowers with Jaken standing guard. Sesshomaru started to walk towards the main section of the mansion.
“What am I supposed to do,” Kagome asked him in a bold voice.
Sesshomaru stopped and an indecisive thought passed through his head. Over his shoulder, he told her, “Whatever you want, but don’t try to leave. My guards know not to let you out.” He spared her a small glance before continuing towards his house. Kagome looked around the yard one more time and looked back towards the gates. Indeed his guards were posted there and gave her a menacing look. Reluctantly, she headed after Sesshomaru, into his house.
