Seven

A/N: I wanted to explain something before I posted this. In the manga right after Kagura dies, Toutousai appears before Sessh saying that the Tensegia called him. The Tensegia wanted to be forged into a weapon, since it had sensed a change in Sesshoumaru's heart. When Toutousai reforged it Sesshoumaru was able to slice at his opponent, but instead of actually cutting it, the Meidou opened up sucking the victim in or what was cut. The Meidou is basically the path to the afterlife. So far in the manga Sessh is still trying to master it. When he does the fang will be able to make a complete circle pulling the entire victim in. Hope this explains how the Tensegia is used for a weapon. And on another note I'll be gone all weekend so I won't be able to update again until monday. Have a nice weekend and hope you enjoy..

Chapter Two

The miko picked up the small child and walked towards the small garden. Laughter was heard as the other children gathered around, all wanting to hear what she had to say. Every evening after lunch she would sit down and tell them stories. Everyone was glad that the miko had stayed along with the taijiya. Ten years had passed since a large battle had been fought not far from the village. It was rumored that it had taken place near a cave in which a bandit had stayed. Many had died that day, human and youkai alike.

Some whispered that the young miko had been one of those to fall that day. The children knew it to be a lie because she was still with them. The village was starting to expand once more, families coming to build a new home. The evil man was gone, killed by the hanyou once pinned to the tree. No one was allowed to enter Inuyasha's forest. People say it is haunted, by the dead miko Kikyou. It was what was told to make young children behave.

Kagome sat down getting comfortable before she started their story time. Soon, Sango and Rin would be returning from the next village. She smiled and began to speak, all the children listened intently. She told them mostly fairy tales from her own childhood. It hurt too much to speak of her own travels, even after ten years. The final battle had come right after she turned sixteen. It still caused a shiver down her spine to think on it. For her there hadn't been a happy ending, not for any of them.

Naraku had come calling after getting his heart back from Mouryoumaru and the remaining shards. A battle had ensued, lives had been lost. Sesshoumaru had come right after the battle had begun. Both men had tried to kill the evil hanyou but neither could break through the barrier he'd erected. He'd managed to take her last shard, completing the jewel in his possession. From there things had gotten worse. Sango had tried to help by tearing apart the tenacles going for the two men. Miroku seeing the woman he loved in danger, pushed her out of the way. The tenacle meant for the taijiya took the life of the houshi.

Unknown to them all Jaken and Rin hadn't stayed where they'd been instructed to. The young girl ended up on the battlefield, right in the path of Naraku. Seeing a chance to kill the child, Naraku struck out. Everyone stood still for several seconds, shocked to see that Sesshoumaru appeared in front of the girl taking the blow meant for her. As he was pierced he lost his grip on the Tensiega, it fell to the ground. Kagome tried to save the Lord but found herself pinned to a tree by another one of his offspring. She heard crying, screaming and someone shouting her name, then a hot searing pain had been felt in her chest. It dawned on her that the youkai had pierced her through the heart with a blade.

She wasn't sure what had happened for a time after. For a brief time she had been unconscious or she believed. When she opened her eyes again she found several things different. The hole in her chest was gone and she felt different. Her head picked up to see Sango laying on the ground, unmoving. Kikyou had shown up while she was out of it and was now laying on the ground trying to get up. Sesshoumaru had been nowhere to be found, Naraku and Inuyasha were locked in battle.

She managed to stumble to her feet, Rin was sitting down crying softly to herself. Jaken was beside her, staff at the ready. Both had tears streaming down their faces. The scene had made her heart ache, it let her know what had happened. Inuyasha was quickly losing the will to fight, he was bleeding from several wounds. Somehow she managed to run behind the hanyou without him noticing, or he hadn't thought her a threat. There was no way for her to get to the jewel inside him. With her remaining arrow she jumped on his back and slammed it between his shoulder blades. He screamed and swatted her aside, where she landed beside Rin.

The girl looked up with startled eyes then down at the sword. Kagome could still remember the expression of confusion cross the child's face. Those soft doe eyes dropped to the fallen fang of her Lord. The miko saw that the jewel was now turning pink and Inuyasha was thrown aside as the hanyou swore. Naraku then bragged that it didn't matter if the jewel was purified and destroyed he would still live. His body was indestructible even without the jewel now, he was immortal.

Kagome had screamed when Rin spoke two words, "I will." Then the child had grasped the fang in her small hands, she took off running towards the hanyou that was trying to dislodge the jewel. The small girl got close enough to throw the fang at him then was knocked aside just as the miko had been. Kagome ran over to make sure she was okay.

Jaken started hollering causing those left alive to look at Naraku. Tenseiga was actually lodged in his chest, pulsing as it came to life on it's own. The blade began to glow, energy radiated from the fang. "Look, the Meidou is begining to open but how?" Jaken watched as it became a full circle, the path to the realm of the dead opened and pulled the hanyou inside.

Kagome wasn't sure if she was actually dead or dreaming but Naraku soon disappeared. No one spoke for several minutes all in awe and shock over what the child had done. It was finally over, the jewel and Naraku were dead. In the end Sesshoumaru had been absorbed and killed by Naraku, Miroku had died saving Sango and Kagome had found a dead Shippou next to a wounded Kirara. Everyone else was wounded and needing medical attention.
The loss of her two friends had been great.

What had almost made her want to give up on life was what happened to Inuyasha afterwards. Upon standing up he ran over to the dying Kikyou to pull the woman into his arms. His sobs were heard as she brought her hand up to stroke his face. Inuyasha had told the woman to take them to hell before her body gave out. Kagome couldn't speak, she hadn't known what to say. It was his choice not hers, so she had remained silent.

They had returned to the village carrying the wounded, it was a sad day for them all. Jaken and Rin had returned with them as well, neither sure of what to do with Sesshoumaru gone. She had tried to go home but the well wouldn't allow her through. The jewel was gone and with it any means of her return. Ten years had passed since that day. All three girls along with Kirara and Jaken tried to go on with their lives. Rin decided to stay with them, not wanting to search for a new home. Jaken stated that he didn't want to stay in a human village but would stay with young Rin because it was what his Lord would have wanted.

The children squeeled in delight as the end of her tale commenced. She smiled pulling her thoughts from the past. She had taken up the role as the village miko upon Keade's death six years ago. Everyone told her she was different, she had to agree that she felt different. So much had happened, it had changed her. The only thing that hadn't changed was the way she looked. The same went for Sango, they hadn't aged in over ten years. It made her wonder if something had happened in that final battle.

"Lady Kagome, who's that?" Teijo, a young boy around the age of eight pointed towards the edge of Inuyasha's forest. A tall man with short brown hair and a long cape was heading towards the village. Kagome told the children to head straight for the village and not to stop for anything. She could sense the power coming from him.

She stood up and placed an arrow in her palm, one could never be too careful. "Stop, state your business." The miko smiled when he stopped in his tracks and looked her over. Who was he and what was he doing here?

Sango waited for Rin to climb on before telling Kirara to take off. The villagers asked them to stay for dinner but they declined. The taijiya was ready to go home. A message had come asking for help slaying a snake youkai that had been terrorizing the village. So, she and Rin had left early this morning to take care of the beast. She had to hand it to the young girl seated behind her, Rin had gotten good over the last eight years. Instead of choosing the same weapon as Sango she had asked to be taught to use a scythe like Kohaku had once used. The request had made Sango happy, she'd lost her brother but had gained two sisters.

Sango had taught her how to use the kusarigama that she'd retrieved from Kohaku. She was glad that the girl was using her brother's weapon to help others. She also knew that Kohaku had taken a liking to the young girl. Kirara flew through the air taking them back towards the village where Kagome and Jaken waited. What she wouldn't give for the imp to disappear.

He was beyond annoying but meant well. He didn't like being around humans all the time but was learning to deal with it. Sango tried to ignore his bitching and complaining, thinking about the reasons why she shouldn't rip his tongue out. The imp did love the girl he'd sworn to protect, he just hated everyone else.

She sighed wishing things had turned out different, she should be married by now. She was still young and in her prime, looking like she had the day her life had changed. But Miroku was gone, killed by Naraku. The idea of getting close to another man left her very scared and weary. Why put herself through the hurt of falling in love just to have him taken away. It had been her fault he had died, she'd gotten herself in trouble. She was alive today only because of his sacrafice. It wasn't fair that she was left to continue living without him. The only solice she had was her two friends and Kirara.

Rin poked Sango in the side bringing her out of her reverie. Rin smiled at her friend then looked down at the ground, watching the trees go by. At times both girls she stayed with would slip into a state where neither would speak and both looked terribly sad. She knew it was because both men they loved had died. She only remembered bits of that day, what was imprinted in her mind was watching her Lord die. It had been her fault because she was weak and had disobeyed. Somethings had been explained to her afterwards but she was still confused. She didn't remember grabbing ahold of the fang that Sesshoumaru had dropped. What she did remember was a voice whispering in her head then nothing. Kagome said that she helped kill Naraku but she couldn't remember.

Toutousai had come upon learning of both brother's deaths. He took the Tetsuseiga with him and tried to take the Tensegia as well. Upon reaching for the fang that had once belonged to Sesshoumaru he began speaking to himself. He told the imp and three girls that after hearing everything he believed the Tensegia had acted on it's own seeing it's master killed. It had used the young girl that Sesshoumaru had come to care for, to help avenge his death. It wanted to stay with the child, to continue protecting her since the Lord was no longer alive.

Her hand fell to the hilt of the fang that hung by her side. It wasn't used again but it gave her comfort. In a way her Sesshoumaru was still with her and she still had Jaken. Sango was teaching her to become a great fighter also. It meant being able to take care of herself, so she wouldn't endanger anyone that she loved again.

Sango felt a powerful presence as they landed outside the village. What was going on? It wasn't youkai or human, so who was it? There was no sign of an attack, everything was peaceful. Children were playing outside as they walked past. She went straight to the hut that they shared. Rin was carrying the neko on her shoulder laughing as Kirara purred in contentment. "Someone is here Rin."

"Huh?" Rin followed the taijiya inside the hut to see what was going on. She spotted the strange man first then Kagome who was sitting across from him. The look on her face said enough to cause alarm to fill both women. "What's going on Kagome?"

Sano followed the strange man, wondering if he should call for a doctor yet or let him have his way. His day had started out shitty, it was getting worse. He'd just gotten back into Tokyo having snuck in, hoping none of his debtors spotted him. It had been a year since the death of Kenshin and Kaoru, he wanted to pay his respects. But on the way he was caught off guard by some bandits. Normally they wouldn't have been much of a problem ,but they had all been packing a firearm. In the fight he'd taken one in the chest.

He'd come to with this strange man standing over him with a worried expression on his face. His hands had went straight to his chest but there had been no wound. He wasn't sure if he'd dreamed the whole thing or not. The young man had blushed when he demanded answers. For two hours he sat on the ground where he'd fallen listening to the odd man. Something about youkai, humans being in trouble from the future. The man was ruler of the Reikai, would explain why he wasn't dead. The man insisted that his help was needed or thousands would be lost.

He didn't know about all that but decided to hear the man out. Kenshin would have done it. So after paying his respects to the two graves he took off after the strange man wanting to see what he was babbling about. He was blunt and said the only monsters he believed in were the human kind. The man stated that he had proof of youkai existence if he would but follow.

Sano just hoped he wasn't walking into some kind of trap. His luck one of the collector's was after his head. He'd originally planned on heading back to China or to get lost in Japan somewhere after paying his respects. He had nothing else going for him at the moment. The walk took them to the outskirts of Toyko in the forest.

The first thing he noticed was the girl leaning against the large tree. His eyes widened, she was beautiful; her smile lit up her whole face. She turned to look at him then frowned, he didn't think he looked that bad. True his hair was kind of unruly and longer than normal, oh and he needed a shave. Maybe she didn't like the scruffy look on a man. His eyes followed hers as she looked down at her side. "What the hell is that thing?"

A green little man that looked like someone had a disgusting affair with a frog was standing next to her. The thing puffed up his chest at the statement and pointed a staff at him. "You dare speak to this Jaken in that manner you disgusting human?" Jaken was ready to set the dirty man on fire. Kagome's hand grabbed the top of his staff stopping him.

"Easy Jaken, remember the barrier has been put up. Humans don't see youkai in this century, he's just surprised that's all. I'm sure he doesn't mean anything by it. We need him remember, he is one of these seven." Kagome turned back to the man dressed in all white and tried smiling. "Hi, we are glad that you came. I'm sure you are very confused right now. Koenma explained everything to us but I guess it was easier for us three to swallow. Since we all knew about youkai before he came knocking on our door. I'm Kagome, you are?"

Sano looked into her face, either she was off her rocker too or she believed everything the strange man had told her. "Sanosuke, let me guess that little thing there is one of these youkai?" The smallest girl began giggling then ran up to him, she peered into his face. Her hands went behind her back, her smile went from ear to ear. Yeah, this one was off her rocker.

"Rin thinks you are funny and is pleased to meet you." Rin extended her hand like Kagome had taught her. The tall man shook it causing her to grin again. "Don't worry we will take good care of you. Oh and Jaken is really nice."

"And you believe this Sano?" Yahiko sat down on the dojo floor, disbelief on his face. Kenji was sitting next to him with a look of total bewilderment. It was bad enough no one had seen the fighter for a long time then he shows up with some wild story. He knew Sano wouldn't lie to him or make up this wild of a tale just for kicks. "You have seen these things called youkai?"

"Well, they have one traveling with them. That thing wasn't a human, it looks like a miniture toad man that speaks. It was real and very much alive, I believe them. Don't ask me why, I just do. I can't give the same explanation that this Koenma did. I'm asking Kenji to go hear him out. If it's all true thousand of lives are in danger and we can help prevent this disaster." Sano knew that it was hard to believe, he was still having trouble.

Kenji didn't know Sano as well as Yahiko but didn't think he was lying. He knew that the man had been close friends with his father. Was it all true? Was he someone of importance? All his life he'd been known as his father's son. Most of his life he had hated his father and for a long time couldn't understand him. The images of his mother waiting for the man still haunted him to this day. They all believed that you should protect those weaker than youself and those you loved. Yahiko had taught him what it meant to use a sword to protect. One dream of his had been to build a legacy even greater than that of his father. The thought that time travel and creatures known as youkai existed was almost too much to swallow.

Could he put his trust in Sano and people he didn't know? It meant leaving his home and his friends. What if he couldn't come back after it was done? Did he want to see the future? Up until last year he'd been engaged to marry, his future had looked bright. Then he'd went to see Hiko for training, an accident had occured during learning the final attack. He remembered falling down the pain had been unbearable. He'd woken up on the ground a blanket placed on him. A drunk Hiko had been busy digging a large hole in the ground. His teacher had dropped the jug of sake when he sat up and looked around.

The old man swore that he was dead and was a ghost. Kenji wasn't sure why he was so upset, he should have been happy that he hadn't died. Ever since that day he hadn't felt the same, something had changed inside him. Sano said this man spoke of them being reborn, is that what happened? "Hiko said I was dead." All conversation stopped so they could look at him. "Last year when I went there for the final time. I got cocky, he said I took the attack straight on and that I should have died. No, he said I was dead. That he checked for a pulse and a heatbeat, I wasn't breathing. Over an hour later while he was going to bury me I woke up."

"I guess it's my turn. Right after returning to Japan I was on my way to visit your parent's grave. I was ambushed by a bunch of bandits, I took one straight in the chest. I came to without so much as a scratch. I think we are exactly who this Koenma claims us to be, which is why I am going with them to help. I don't know nothing about these youkai or what is waiting for me but I won't let it stop me." Sano was glad to hear he wasn't the only one that had experienced the strange rebirth.

"Take me to this Koenma, I need to speak to him for myself then I will decide." Kenji stood up and bowed to Yahiko. "If I believe him, I won't be coming back. I'll leave you to explain everything. If I don't make it back take care of the dojo." Kenji saw Yahiko's shocked expression and tried to smile. "Please understand, if it's true then we can save these people. Be they youkai or human, they are in need of help. We both know that if it were my father being asked, he'd go also."

"I understand, in case I don't see you two again. Take care of yourselves and I'll miss you." Yahiko would take care of everything until they returned and if they didn't. Either way he wished them well and hoped they found what they were looking for.

Genkai handed Shizuru a cup of tea while they waited for Koenma to come fetch them. The prince had sent her a letter with a brief description of what was going on. "Don't stare too hard you might hurt your eyes Shizuru." Genkai smirked at the girl's expression. It was to be expected, a lot of people were in for a shock. Koenma had explained a few things in his note. She regretted having to fake her death but it had been the only option she'd had at the time and Koenma had helped her with it. It meant leaving all those to mourn her but it had been for the best since neither Koenma or herself had understood what happened to her.

After she'd been killed by her former lover and had come back she had felt different. It wasn't until a few years after that she knew what was wrong. She wasn't aging anymore but was regressing in age. When the first signs of her pink hair started to show up in strands she'd called Koenma for answers. They had none, so she left to go into hiding until answers could be found. She had them now, it explained everything. As a descendant the rebirth would keep their age at their prime.

Her prime had been in her early twenties so thats what her body had slowly changed back into. Her power also came back, so she had trained herself in these twenty years. Ironic that Toguro had been so scared of growing old which led him to kill her. Doing so had made it possible for her to come back and be reborn where she would never age again.

Koenma told her to get in touch with Shizuru and explain some of it to her. "Same as you, my age is now at it's prime. I'm sure you didn't believe that your youthful face didn't come from all those expensive creams you use." Genkai laughed at the young woman. "Koenma will be holding a meeting once he has the other five and we are in Gandara."

"Gotcha, all I got to say is Yusuke and the others are going to shit when they see you. We all believed you to be dead. I haven't really spoken to any of them either. I guess in a way I knew I felt different but wasn't sure why. Not to mention I wasn't aging while my bro was starting to get crow's feet." Shizuru took a drag of her cigarette, now she wouldn't have to worry about lung cancer. She found it hard to believe it was Genkai sitting in front of her, the woman was a sight to behold. "Glad you're back though."

"Yeah, me too. I believe that is Koenma now, let's go greet them." Genkai stood up and walked towards the door. Koenma was about to knock when it slide open. "Bout damn time, I was afraid of growing old again while we waited."

"Oh, I'm going to like her." Kagome smiled at the young girl. She could feel the power coming from the small girl, it was almost soothing. Now that all seven of them were together Koenma was going to take them to this Gandara.

"Rin thinks she is really pretty, even if she is smaller. The other one is pretty too but tall." Rin turned to Koenma when a strange sound was heard coming from him. He reached into his pocket and pulled something round out of his pocket.

"Koenma here."

"Where the hell are you? You said you'd only be gone a few days, it's been over a damn week. Should I mention the fact that now some winged bastards are dropping out of the sky and are attacking the city." The sound of fuzz was heard the Koenma shut the communicator.

"I see he's just as crude as ever." Genkai recognized the voice of her former pupil. "I guess you better open up that portal now so we don't arrive too late."

"Yes, Rin wants to kick some ass." Rin giggled when Kagome elbowed her in the side. "I mean Rin is ready to go save some people now."

Koenma stepped out of the portal near the city and almost stumbled over. It was worse than he had expected, the city was indeed under attack. Atleast twenty of the winged humans were flying around blasting away at the structure. If his father spoke true then the youkai could do nothing to defend themselves. Youkai energy had no effect on them, plus they were flying. Everyone stepped out behind him and gasped.

Sano was shocked at the sight, it was all true. The city was under attack, innocent beings were being slaughtered like cattle. He had never met one of these youkai but killing anything for no reason wasn't right. "Alright, I say we go kick some ass." He was ready to fight these things.

"Hold your horses, we need to figure out a way to bring them down first. I don't think you can fly." Genkai wanted to point out the obvious. She could take them out with her powers but what was everyone else here capable of? It was bad timing for them, they all needed training first before jumping into battle.

"Kagome, take the ground, Rin and I will take the sky." Sango released Kirara, the neko jumped out of her arms to land several feet in front of them. The cat transformed into her larger form. Both girls didn't waste any time before jumping on. The cat sprung into the air as Kagome took off running, leaving the rest to gawk at the three. Jaken went running after the miko, he wouldn't be left with all those strange humans.

Kagome ran into the gates of the city, her aura flared as she ran. Youkai seperated clearing a path for her, they stared at her in fear. A large group of powerful youkai was standing in a circle in a large courtyard. The others were right behind her along Jaken, she reached the edge of the courtyard. One of the creatures came down and picked up a small child.

A blast was sent at the creature from a man wearing a tshirt and jeans. The creature turned around and snarled, his hand tightened on the child's throat. Yusuke cursed, "What the hell are we going to do?"

"You'll shut up and let us handle it." Genkai shouted and stopped beside the other young girl. She laughed at the three men's surprised faces then spoke, "Can you bring it down?"

"I'm on it, someone get ready to catch the child." Kagome notched an arrow and took aim. The winged man began to laugh at her, the child cried out from the pain being inflicted on his throat. "Let's see you smile without a face." She released the arrow, the man didn't move. It struck him in the face turning his entire head into ash. The grip on the boy was released and he began to fall. A short man dressed in black with spikey hair jumped and caught him.

"Yusuke, you have to use your spirt energy on them." Koenma tried to catch his breath, he wasn't cut out for all this. "Make sure none of the youkai attack the humans that are here to help." He turned to look into the sky, where the two girls were. "We need to get up there and help them, they're about to be surrounded."

Sango saw it as well, "They're going to try and close in on us. Are you ready for this? Kirara turn us around and head straight for them." Sango felt Rin duck so she could prepare to use her weapon. Her fingers unlatched it, she'd take half of them out. She heard people yelling at them from below, telling them to run for it. Were they kidding? "Hiraikotsu," She released the large weapon into the crowd.

Rin felt something grab her arm, one had flown up beside them. She brought her elbow slamming it into his face while she brought her weapon around. The hand let her go as his head was seperated from his shoulders. "Rin doesn't like to be touched." The winged body started to fall towards the ground.

A scream was heard as a pink streak of light crossed the sky. It landed into a chest taking another down. Sango told Rin to duck as Hiraikotsu came back. The few remaining started to fly off, Sango told Kirara to land and let them leave.

Jaken waited for the taijiya to land the neko before he started screaming. "What do you think you were doing? How many times must I tell you not to leave without me Rin? You need me there to protect you, Lord Sesshoumaru would roll over in his grave if he'd seen see you take off like that." Jaken saw the girl smile as she jumped off Kirara.

Kagome planted a foot on his head causing him to eat dirt. She didn't want to hear his shit, why did Rin insist on having the imp around? Deep down she knew why and understood but didn't help with the fact that he was annoying. "Jaken, when we want shit from you we'll squeeze your head. Until then be a good little toad and shine my shoes."

"Why you filthy human, how dare you speak to me like that." Jaken grumbled, he should beat that miko aside that head. Atleast he could sense other youkai now. The human stench wasn't so bad anymore. "If it wasn't for Rin I'd have burnt your ass to a crisp a long time ago."

"Jaken, don't speak to Lady Kagome that way." Rin scolded him, then caught Kirara as she transformed again and jumped into her arms. She turned to look at all the new people surrounding them. Were they the ones they were going to help? There was a lot of men, all youkai standing around staring at them. She leaned over to Genkai, knowing that the woman was familiar with this era. "Rin wants to know if the male youkai in this era all look like that or are these just grumpy for some reason?"

"Hmph, they are male. From my experience most of them always look like that. I wouldn't let it bother you though. You seem to have a pretty mean elbow, use it." Genkai knew why a few of them were pissed, they had been lied to. Yusuke looked about to blow his load and rant at her. The other two she saw anger and mixed emotions surrounding them. Yomi, didn't look happy either but she assumed it had to do with the situation. The boy standing next to the Makai king looked confused more than anything.

"Rin thinks maybe they need to add fiber to their diet. When Jaken is grumpy and looking like that he complains about his bowels. Is the food here not good?" Rin chuckled as jaws began to drop, Kagome broke out in laughter along with the tall woman.

"I do not talk of such things girl. How dare you speak of such things in front of strangers." Jaken screamed waving his staff wildly, people were begining to chuckle. They were laughing at him because of young Rin. She was too blunt and outspoken for her own good. It was Lord Sesshoumaru's fault she had grown that way. These two human girls didn't help either, letting Rin continue her ways.

"Okay, might I suggest we take this inside? I'm sure everyone is waiting for some answers and we are drawing a crowd." Koenma wanted to get somewhere he could sit and relax for a few minutes.

Everyone was in the large conference room, extra chairs had been brought in. Koenma retold the tale once more for everyone to make sure no one was confused. Especially those he had pulled from time to help. He was more concerned about the two males he'd brought along. The girls were easier to accept because of who they were. "Kagome, if you'd like to know. Your mother and brother are alive and living in Tokyo still."

Kagome was glad she was sitting down, the news almost made her fall over in her chair. Was it possible for her to see them once this was all over? "Thank you, I appreciate you telling me. Don't worry, I will wait until this is settled before trying to see them. It's the least I can do for you since you brought me home." Her mother and Souta were alive and well, that meant so much to her.

"Wait a minute, I got a question how the hell is Grandma alive and how the hell is she back to being a hot chick?" Yusuke pointed at her, she flipped him off then snorted.

"Okay, as everyone knows the descendant has to go through what I call a rebirth. That transgression is meant to keep them at the age of their peak. I will go down the line and explain everyone's. It takes either an outside force or their own will power to bring them back. Kenji died while training with his master, his will power was able to bring him back. Sano there was shot and he revived himself. Sango was killed by her brother and then buried, she assumed they had buried her alive but this was not the case. She was dead but her will to live caused her rebirth. Kagome there was stabbed in the chest during the final battle over the Shikon no Tama, being it's guardian she had no problem reviving herself. Now for the other three, they were different. I'll start with Shizuru, when Sensui fired that shot into Yusuke's apartment she was injured. Kurama you brought her to Genkai to be healed. Her heart stopped for no more than a minute, so she died. Genkai healed her and she was back." He turned to the other two girls, "These two are a perfect example of what being reborn can do. Genkai was past her prime at the time of her rebirth, which most of us know it was when Toguro killed her and I brought her back. After than she slowly began to change, her youth returning to her. Finally, we get to Rin who was actually reborn when she was only six years of age. She was killed as a child and brought back by Lord Sesshoumaru. She was too young and not at her prime so she continued to age, she should stop doing so within another year or two."

"So Rin will remain young forever?" Rin asked.

"Yes, you will, as will everyone else here. You can be killed but you will never age." Koenma crossed his legs, waiting for anymore questions. When no more questions came he wanted to get to their biggest problem yet. "Now, I need everyone to listen up closely. I know that you seven have all came here willing to risk your lives for people you don't know. It is also true that for centuries youkai and humans have been enemies. There is a slight problem here, one that needs to be corrected. It will take a sacrafice from all of you, I hate to ask it of you but I need to."

"They need to bond with a youkai." Yomi spoke up and turned his head towards the Reikai prince. "You said that to do it they mixed their own spiritual power with youkai energy through the bond. In order for these seven to do the same, they too will have to be bonded to a youkai of great strength." Yomi frowned knowing he was right. He had listened to all the details, it was the only thing that was missing now. Besides these humans needing some training.

"Wait a damn minute," Kagome slammed her hand down on the table. "You didn't mention this part. What are you trying to pull, you pacifier sucking shithole? I ought to climb over this table and beat your ass." There was no way she was bonding with a youkai for this. Everyone in this room looked to be more uptight than Lord Fluffy himself.

"Hehe Kagome is cursing again." Rin stroked Kirara's fur, watching the miko jump out of her chair. She didn't see what the problem was, they should do what was needed. "Rin thinks you should hear the big baby out and see what he has planned before hurting him. We came all this way, we might as well do what we can to save all these people."

"She's right Kagome, she and I both know how you must feel right now but theres more than us at stake here." Sango placed a hand on the miko's shoulder. She didn't really want to bond with a youkai either but it was a bond, as long as they didn't try to touch her. The two men that had come along looked confused about everything. "To be bonded with a youkai is a step they take before they take you as their mate."

Sano understood now what they meant, he wasn't sure if he liked this new turn of events either. He wasn't jumping in the sack with some youkai, from what he'd seen they were all weird looking. "What all do we have to do?"

"All that will be needed is the bond. You won't have to actually mate with whomever you get paired with. Once it is over, you need never see them again for all I care. Just form the bond so we can do what is needed. There is something else, we need it to be the way as it was the first time. You see the youkai has to be male. So you two men will be bonded to a youkai and the female as well." Koenma took a deep breath, "I want to ask the youkai in this room to be the ones to do the bonding. You are all very powerful in your own ways, that way no outside interference is needed."

"Might I have my say in the matter?" Kenji choose now to speak, taking in everything that had been said. "I don't know any of you, except Sano here. I have never heard of youkai or the Makai. When I decided to leave my home and friends behind I did so because of what I believe. My father once gave up everything to redeem himself. I didn't understand for a long time why he would choose to do so. Why protect people he didn't know, why care and waste his life for others? It took losing him and my mother to finally understand why. My life and everyone's in this room is insignificant, we are but a drop of water in the large ocean that is the world we live in. If we were to all die tomorrow, life would go on without us. Some may remember us, most will forget us. What most die without realizing is the bigger picture. This problem has occured because those that came before us forgot. They all got caught up in their own lives, not thinking about the future. All believing that what they did didn't matter. For human and youkai to survive this and to continue living they need to realize that every action they take effects the flow of life." Kenji saw Sano's confused expression and sighed. "What I'm trying to say Sano, is that we need to work together. Put all our petty differences aside and do what must be done. If youkai and humans don't learn to work together once more then all life will cease. I don't care what I have to do, I will do my part."

"Well said and I agree." Kurama smiled at the young man and nodded towards Koenma. "If we don't do this then we won't be able to stop this from happening. It is but a small price to pay to ensure the safety of the all three worlds." He hadn't planned on finding a mate anyways so this wouldn't interfere in his life.

"Shura and I will do it as well." Yomi spoke up for his son, the boy gasped in astonishment. "You will do it son. Why worry about your future if you are dead or enslaved? Kurama is right it is a small price to pay to see that the Makai isn't taken over. We tried to fight these things and you saw how we failed to even hurt them. These humans have come here when they didn't have to. They are willing to do their part and so will we."

"Guess that only leaves Hiei and Yusuke." Kurama smiled at the two, Hiei answered with his usual 'Hn.' Yusuke was chewing on his bottom lip lost in thought? "Question Yusuke?"

"Yeah, it's just a bonding thing right. Cause I'm married to Keiko, I can't be sleeping with another woman."

"You moron, haven't you been listening. No one expects you to drop your pants. For once think with the correct head, the one located three feet above your ass not three inches in front of it." Genkai couldn't believe he had to ask that question, leave it to her dimwit.

"Hey who asked you, you old hag? I was just making sure alright." Yusuke balled his fist and yelled at her. He was willing to do the bonding thing he just wouldn't cheat on Keiko with some strange woman. Besides he couldn't see himself getting it on with a woman he didn't know. He was a man and found other women attractive but he couldn't sleep with a woman he didn't love. "Fine, so how do we pair up?"

Rin raised her hand excitedly, "How about we put the girls' names down on paper. Then the guys can draw them or you can stir them up and pass them out. That way if someone gets with someone they don't like they can just take it out on you." She smiled at the funny looking man with the strange mark on his head. His eyes widened at the suggestion.

"Thats a good idea, Rin is it?" Kurama turned to the hyper girl, she bounced her head and smiled. "Yes, I say we draw and go with it. First put all five females down we all draw to pair up with the female. Then you write the two males down and add three blanks with it. The two that get the males has to bond with them also."
