Disclaimer:
I do not own InuYasha, nor make money from this story.
Part 2
Disclaimer: As much as I wish I owned Inu-kun and gang I do not. They are all owned by the lovely Rumiko Takahashi whom I admire to no end. But I do own the plot and setting as well as the third movie and a t-shirt.
Warning: This story will contain lemons, and some instances of rape. If any of these things don't float your boat please leave immediately. Also don't send flames 'cause of it. Believe me there are worse stories than mine out there.
Other Warning: This story contains WAFF and fluff by the bucket fulls. If you are WAFF-phobic I suggest you leave this story immediately and go contact your shrink. Also don't flame me.
AN: Hey I am back. Thank you to everyone who reviewed, you guys are my inspiration! Anyway this part (sadly enough) does NOT feature Inu-kun. It is more of an insight into both Kagome's life and her head after her meeting with Inuyasha. However Inu-kun and his thoughts appear tons in part 3 so just bear with me for now. I know, I want Inu too but this chapter does help the flow of the story. Enjoy.

Part 2
The next morning at precisely 7:01 Kagome was jarred awake by the annoying chime of her alarm clock, startling her out of her dreams, all of which seemed to contain the same golden eyes.
The frazzled teen opened her eyes sleepily and groaned when she saw the time. What day was it? She searched the part of her half asleep brain that actually understood time and finally it clicked. Wednesday. Two days until that damnable dance at her highschool. Oh how she hated things like that, but she would go, if only to please her friends.
She crawled out of bed, rubbing her eyes and running her fingers through her messy hair. Finally she reached her closet and pulled out her school uniform and some undergarments before walking off to the bathroom connected with her pink, white, and green room.
The bathroom filled with steam as Kagome sunk into the warm water of the tub, casually splashing water over her arms. She was so tired, it would be so nice just to go to sleep after this, but she couldn’t. Kagome knew it was her fault for staying out late last night.
“I gotta stop that, I need more sleep.” She murmured to herself, stifling a yawn with her fingers.
She reached for her fruity shampoo and lathered it through her hair, all the while thinking about the previous night and those golden eyes. Like drops of liquid gold. They were so beautiful again his tan skin and starkly white hair.
And those ears! If Kagome had been just a bit more sure Inuyasha wasn’t going to kill her she would have reached up and rubbed them. But maybe, just maybe she would get her chance tonight...
“Don’t think that! He probably won’t even come! He’s a demon, I’m a human so I can just forget him ever liking me.” She scolded herself aloud as she gave her hair a final rinse.
Twenty minutes later she was finally dressed and ready for school. The green and white uniform giving her a very innocent appearance with her hair pulled back in a high ponytail. Kagome didn’t even bother with make up, it was too– fake and girly. She merely put on a bit of lip gloss and ran downstairs to the kitchen.
“Ohayou Kagome!” Her mother’s voice greeted her as she entered the kitchen.
Kagome nodded at her mother and replied, “Ohayou. I guess I should be going.”
“Be careful dear, and remember to come home early today!” Her mother’s voice faded in her ears as Kagome was already out the door and halfway down the street.
“Kagome-chan!” The distinctive, high pitched squeals of her friends made Kagome’s ears ring. She was sure every demon and some humans in a ten miles radius had heard that.
“Hey Eri, Ayumi, Yuka!” Kagome replied with a wave as she ran up to them, a fake smile on her face.
“Kagome-chan you aren’t going to believe this! You know Hojo-kun right? The guy in calculus?” Eri said with another squeal as she bobbed slightly on the balls of her feet.
“Yeah... I remember him...” Kagome said slightly nervously. Hojo had had a crush on her since she was fifteen. He was persistent, sweet, and caring but he just wasn’t the one.
“Well...” Eri continued, failing to hide the smirk that was playing across her lips, “I overheard him talking with Taro yesterday. He’s planning on asking you to the dance today!” She finished and the three burst into more excited squeals.
“He is? But...why?” Kagome asked semi cluelessly. After all she could see no reason for the hottie of the school to ask her to the dance, despite his ever growing crush on her.
“Dummy! We all know Hojo’s had a crush on you since middle school! And you like him too right?” The hint of quiet scepticism in Yuka’s voice, and the lack of confirmation from Kagome caused the trio to draw a collective breath, then...
“You’ve met someone else!” The three exclaimed in unison and Kagome paled.
“No way! You guys know I have no time for a boyfriend!” Kagome exclaimed, raising her hands in a gesture of denial. Although a small hint of pink appeared across the bridge of her nose.
The four started to walk once more and Kagome thought that perhaps the subject had been buried, but alas things are never that simple.
“So what’s he like?”
“Ayumi!” Kagome reproached, her blush intensifying to a full out magenta.
Eri latched onto Kagome’s arm and said, “Kagome, come on! Can’t you tell your best friends?”
Kagome remained silent until she caught sight of the puppy dog eyes Eri was flashing her. She always knew Eri was just too good at that. Finally with a sigh she relented, “Look I only met him yesterday, plus I have no idea if I’ll ever even see him again so what’s the point talking about him?”
“Gosh Kagome! You sound like your in love with the guy!” Ayumi was quick to point out as she latched onto Kagome’s other arm, trapping her within their web. Kagome bit her lip, searching in vain for a way out of this conversation, however none arose.
Yuka, who was now walking backwards in front of her friends gasped and hurriedly added, “You have to be in love with him! Your blushing bright red!” She gave a squeal of joy, quickly followed by Ayumi and Eri.
“So what’s his name? What does he look like? And most importantly: is he hot?” Eri asked, ticking off the questions on her fingers, an insane grin spreading across her face. She reached over to hug her blushing friend, “Our little Kagome-chan is all grown up!”
The others joined in laughing and Kagome blushed, “Knock it off guys! How can I be in love with him if I only met him less than a day ago? It isn’t possible.”
Kagome folded her arms across her chest in a way that clearly stated that the topic was closed for discussion. The rest of the way to school was spent listening to her three closest, if a bit ditsy, friends.
The rest of the day at school was spent much the same as always, except for the few instances where Kagome had to fend off questions about her “mystery man” as her friends so eloquently put it. When it was all over Kagome felt like she could just collapse and fall asleep on the sidewalk.
Reluctantly she dragged her feet home and up the stairs to her room. After locking the door to prevent a certain younger brother of hers from doing any snooping, Kagome fell on her back onto the squishy comfort of her bed. She turned her head slightly to look at the alarm clock on her night stand. The little screen flashing 3:40 in an almost spiteful way. If she didn’t care about Inuyasha why was she desperately wishing that the clock would hurry up and strike nine? It was all just too confusing.
She burried her head in her pillow and resisted the urge to scream into it. Why the hell was she thinking about him? She had met him a little over sixteen hours ago, and had talked with him for about an hour. That definitely filed him under acquaintance not love interest! So why did she suddenly have the urge to be wrapped up in those strong arms with those golden eyes watching over her? Had to be hormones, that’s it. Teenage hormones.
Besides even if Kagome was attracted to him, which she wasn’t! There was one more little problem, he was of a different species. Demons and humans don’t, under any circumstances get together. Those pairing are hated by society and any product of said pairing are hated even more. So even if in some strange twist of fate Inuyasha felt for Kagome as well they would never be granted the gift of a relationship, other than a secret one that is.
Still wasn’t what they were doing right now a bit forbidden? At least on Kagome’s end. Her mother would go ballistic and lock Kagome in the closet if she knew she was sneaking out to see some demon, no matter how beautiful that demon was. Wait! She didn’t mean that, no never.
All this thinking was making Kagome’s tired brain pound, and the urge to scream her head off intensified. This was the reason demons and humans never got together, if they tried they would ultimately self implode from all this thinking. She rolled ovr onto her back and stared up at the white painted ceiling. Then back at the clock: 4:38.
Had she really been thinking that long? She let a sigh escape her lips, she was really hoping to take a nap but now with her brain running on overdrive that would be nearly impossible. Besides her mom would probably let her sleep through dinner if she was really tired and if she did that then she would miss her meeting.
If there was ever a time she needed the quiet solitude of the play park it was now. But she knew better, she had to wait until sundown or risk having people there. The play park only functioned for her if no one else was there.
Not true! Kagome realized with a start, making her stomach fly into her throat. Last night, after talking with Inuyasha she had come home feeling peaceful and content, more so than ever. Just being around him made her feel warm and content, actually just thinking about him did. Consciously she wanted him as her friend, subconsciously, as much as she tried to deny it, she wanted him as so much more.
Minutes ticked by as Kagome struggled with her homework. Math had never been her cup of tea, she found it difficult, boring, and confusing. It was like someone shoved a book written in Gaelic under her nose and said “read this” like they actually thought she could or something. After twenty minutes of struggling and erasing the same equation Kagome let out a strangled cry and sunk her head onto her desk where she had been working.
Then, almost like she had heard Kagome’s internal pleas for help her mother’s voice came drifting up the stairs, calling her to dinner. Never in her life had been so thankful to hear her mother’s voice. Kagome shot up from the desk, and pausing to stick her tongue out at her calculus book she bolted down the stairs.
The smell of her mother’s cooking met Kagome’s nose as she stepped into the dining room. Her ten year old brother, Sota was already seated next to her Grandpa. Her mother was setting things on the table when she looked up and saw her elder daughter.
“Hello Kagome. How’s your homework going?” Her mother smiled softly as Kagome took her seat at the table.
She had to ask about homework. Kagome groaned and replied, “I hate math.” Before glaring down at the bowl of rice in front of her.
Dinner was filled with idle chatter and her mother’s famous cooking, and left Kagome in a slightly better mood than before, even if she was still having fantasies about her math book getting torn apart by a giant demon. She excused herself with the undeniable need to finish her homework and took off back up the stairs.
Her math book lay waiting, mocking her, she gave it a glare that would make innocents tremble and sat down at her desk. She continued to glare at it as she set to work on the first problem of what seemed to be hundreds.
Yep, let’s face it the gods hated her. Kagome set down her pencil with another frustrated sigh. Damn math in all its horrible and deadly forms. Another look at the clock sent her heart soaring. It was 8:37 she could leave for her “meeting”.
Grinning brightly to herself she stood up and slammed her math book shut. Smirking victoriously she walked over to her closet to change. Ten minutes later she was dressed in jeans, a long sleeved t-shirt, and this time a heavy blue jacket to protect her from the cold.
Kagome felt her stomach twist up in that pleasurable feeling she got every time she snuck out. Being extra silent she walked over to her door and locked it. Then preceded to flip off the lights and make her way to the open window.
The cool rush of air met Kagome’s face as that feeling in her chest intensified. This time it was different, stronger. She was sneaking out to meet someone, a boy no less, it made everything ten times more exciting. Easing her way onto the thick tree branch next to her window, she steadied herself and regained balance before hopping down onto the next one lower.
Three branch jumps later Kagome’s feet hit the ground and she stood up, her elated grin spreading across her face once more. And with a final glance up at her house she took off towards the play park and hopefully Inuyasha.
