The Truth is Out
Chapter Two
Kagome and Sango walked back slowly towards the table and sat down. Kagome hoped that they wouldn't be able to sense that she was a miko. She hadn't used her powers since that day so they were no longer as strong.
Hiei sat across from the one in the blue named Kagome. He had sensed that there was something different about her. All the other guys were to busy drooling over the outfits to notice. Just then Shiuchi asked Sango to dance. Kagome watched as he led her friend to the dance floor. Kagome decided that she needed a drink. She got up and walked to the bar and ordered a martini. Before she knew it cash was thrown down on the bar. She looked over and noticed the other red head who was called Kuwabara standing next to her grinning.
" Thank you." she said and gave her best fake smile.
" You know you are the prettiest gal in here tonight."
" Once again thanks."
Yusuke noticed the girl at the bar being drooled over by his moron best friend. He could tell that she was pretty damn close to decking his ass. He decided to go over and save her.
" Want to dance?" Yusuke asked Kagome.
She looked from from guy to the other and nodded. He led her to the dance floor just as a slow song came on. He wrapped his arms around her waist. Kagome was nervous but put her arms around his neck. She felt his aura as well but then she looked into his brown eyes. For some reason she felt completely safe. She smiled at him and he smiled back. Finally her curiousity got the best of her.
" So you and your friends are youkai." It was more like a statement than a question. He stopped dancing for a moment and looked at her. ' How did she know?' He started to dance again and started to explian.
" Well I'm a hanyou. That big lughead is human and in college. The mean looking one,Hiei, in the black is a fire youkai. Kurama is a fox youkai."
" Who?"
" I meant to say Shiuchi. Sorry. So how is it that you know what we are?" he asked her.
" Well, I am a miko. Believe it or not but I have seen my fair share of youkai."
" And how is that?"
Kagome lead him off the dance floor and to a more private spot. She then explained how she was Kikyo's reincarnation and the whole two years that she fought by Inuyasha's side. She looked over at her friend and decided not to mention what Sango was. Yusuke was surprised by all of this. ' How could someone so beautiful have gone through all that?' They sat and talked for an hour when Sango came over to them.
" Kags, come with me." she said.
They stepped outside and Kagome told Sango everything that she had found out. Sango took in every bit of the information. She told her friend that she did not tell them what Sango was. As they were still talking they didn't notice the fire youkai staring down at them. He hid himself in the shadows to get a better look at Kagome. He watched as they went back inside. ' So she is a miko. And her friend was a Tiajiya. Neither one can be trusted.'
Hiei walked back to the table where everybody sat in deep conversation. He sat down and stared at the miko. He knew he could not trust her but at the same time he wanted to get to know her. He felt this weird feeling in his gut about her. They continued to talk for another hour when Kagome and Sango decided it was time to leave. Sango kissed Shiuchi goodbye and Kagome told Yusuke to call her.
The girls took a taxi home. Little did they know but the fire youkai was not far behind watching. They got home and decided to have some hot chocolate before hitting the sack.
" So Kags, tell me all the juicy details. Do you like Yusuke?"
" I don't know. He is a hanyou just like Inuyasha and we both know that I don't have the best of luck with them. What about you? You and Shiuchi seem to be getting close."
" Yeah. He told me that he really likes me. I honestly think that love is in the air. But what would happen if he ever found out what I was?"
" I really don't know Sango. All we can do is hope that he will understand that it is in the past. Literally." she said and laughed.
Hiei couldn't take his eyes off of the miko. He sat and listened to them talk and watched as they went to thier rooms and went to sleep. He then made his way back to Yusuke's apartment. When he got there the guys were already there watching TV. He just walked right up to Kurama and said, " You can not trust Sango." Everybody stopped watching TV and looked up at him. By know Yusuke had told all of them what Kagome was and none of them were worried about her so why Sango? She was just a human. Kurama stood up and looked at his friend.
" Why the hell not?"
" She can NOT be trusted!!!" he shouted.
" I LOVE HER." Kurama yelled and walked out of the room.
Everyone just sat there looking at Hiei with their mouths dropped. ' You can not trust her my friend. She is a Tiajiya. She will try and kill you and I can't let that happen' he thought as he too walked away.
