Kitsune Tails

An eerie silence filled the forest of Inu yasha. Perched high among the tree tops, a mysterious in a white baboon pelt, watched as the jewel hunters returned through the well to rejoin the others with a new companion.

"Kuku kuku" an evil laughter emitted from the figure.
"My trap is set and soon your life will be mine along with your shards"

"So you to are from the future?" questioned a curios monk.

"Yep" the little vixen managed to say in between bites.

"Ye appetite is great for one of ye's size " Keade stated astounded by the little ones intake of food. She had practically inhaled four bowls of rice! It was apparent that this cub had not eaten in a while. She also found it strange that a kitsune cub so young would be alone. Most youkai were very overprotective of there young. Especially kitsunes. Just as Keade was about to voice her question, Sango asked it for her.

The little kitsune gulped down the mouthful of rice she had, and sat down her current bowl to answer the demon exterminator’s question.

"They died" she said in a calm voice but her eyes betrayed her sadness and heart ache. Sango saw the deep pain in her eyes and immediately regretted asking the question.

"Im sorry Chibi" she said in a very apologetic voice.

"That’s ok" Chibi brightened up a bit.

"Kagome is my momma now" Chibi smiled as she leapt into Kagomes arms. Kagome soon began the nightly ritual of stroking her tail. Shippo soon followed. After they were both asleep, Kagome passed them to Inu yasha.

"And what am I supposed to do with them?" the hanyou asked rather loudly. Kagome motioned with her hands to be quite, then barley above a whisper said " Just hold them , Sango and I are going to the hot springs to take a bath" Kagome gathered her bath supplies then left the hut before Inu yasha could object. Sango and Kirara soon followed. Miroku stood up and began to exit the hut as well, mumbling something about needing a bath to, but the death stare that Inu yasha gave him was enough to convince him other wise.

"Feh" was all Inu yasha said before closing his eyes and drifting into a light sleep, all the while keeping his keen ears and nose alert for any signs of danger.

Kagome and Sango were relaxing in the hot springs enjoying some light conversation, while Kirara groomed herself on the shore. The warm water was soothing, times like these where they could relax and just be girls were few. Kagome wished it would never end, and that they could just stay here forever with out a care in the world.
They took turns playing with each others hair, they laughed and laughed enjoying this quality time to its fullest. They stayed in the spring until their skin was wrinkled. When at last the time had come to leave their sanctuary they both rose from the water reluctantly. Soon they were dressed and on their way back to the village.

Sango held the untransformed Kirara in her arms as they marched forward. Kirara's ears twitched as her eyes flung open, a low growl unbefitting of her current form emitted from her chest. She began to struggle violently startling Sango. As she leapt from her mistresses arms she transformed into her larger youkai form and stood protectively between her companions and the new presence.

Sango and Kagome stood silent, both regretting leaving their weapons behind, Kagome feeling especially helpless without her bow. Sango gritted her teeth and prepared herself for a good old fashioned fist fight.
Kagome almost jumped backward in surprise as the bushes in front of Kirara began to shake.

"Kirara hold your ground" Sango ordered as she herself took a fighting stance. Kirara nodded to acknowledge her mistress.
Without warning what appeared to be a whirlwind flew toward the small group knocking Kirara out of the way. Sango bent down to the ground to brace herself.

Kagome attempted to do the same but the strong wind surrounded her, and what felt like someone’s arms wrapped around her. She screamed and struggled but her efforts were in vain, she was being carried away and there was nothing she could do about it.

Inu yasha's eyes flickered open as his keen canine ears picked up a deafening scream.

"That’s Kagome!" he announced as he threw the two cubs that had been in his arms to Miroku before he could ask questions and ran out of the hut in the direction in which the girls had taken earlier.

The scream had also awaken the two kitsune who were both struggling to get free so that they to could go help their 'mother'. Miroku managed to hold on to Shippo but Chibi was just to fast. She dashed out of the hut and was off, following her nose, hoping it would lead her to Inu yasha and the others.

"Ahh!!!!" Kagome screamed again as she began to flail her arms, one particularly violent punch making contact with something, or rather someone.

The violent winds came to an abrupt stop, it was then that Kagome saw her kidnaper.

"K-Koga?!" She said, staring at a de-winded wolf demon.

"Kagome" he finally found his breath. Kagome's sympathy soon turned to anger at the realization that she had been abducted again!

"What do you think you’re doing Koga?! Are you out of your god damn mind?!" Kagome was furious, the others were probably worried sick not to mention the third degree Inu yasha would give her when he found out who had kidnapped her. Oh boy, questions that he would ask came to mind and none of them were concerning her safety.

She could see it now, 'what so you are his woman now?' 'What were you doing with Koga at this time of night?' did you guys have sex?' 'Did he claim you as his own?' yep those questions and many more were sure to come. Knowing Inu yasha he'd probably assume that she had gone along with Koga willingly. She was brought abruptly out of her thoughts as Koga grabbed her hands in his own and looked at her with lust filled eyes.

"Kagome my love I have at last come to take you home where you belong as my mate and wife." Kagome was at a loss for words (which for her didn’t happen very often) Koga had just kidnapped her (again) and then proposed to her. These thoughts going through her head she didn’t notice how close Kogas face was getting to her own.

She was again brought out of her thoughts when Kogas rough lips captured her own in a far less then gentle fashion. Too shocked to resist Kagome gave into him and let his tongue enter her mouth.

Koga was a little surprised that she hadn’t resisted, but was getting a little annoyed at her lack of participation. He deepened the kiss, determined to make her kiss him in return.

Kagome's senses came back to her when Koga's tongue began to go farther into her mouth. There was nothing loving about this kiss, she only sensed lust. She tried to struggle out of his grasp, but he held her firmly against him. 'No' she thought ' I can’t do this! I don’t love him, I love .....' no she couldn’t think about him right now the thought of what he would say if he saw her then was to much for her to bare.

"Please ..." Kagome mumbled into Koga's mouth "No" She couldn’t stop the tears from coming. She thought of her current situation and realized that there was only one thing she could do...........

Koga was quite pleased when Kagome began to slowly wrap her arms around him and begin to rub her leg against his own. Little did he know that she was just biding her time. With a speed he didn’t know any human could posses she brought her knee up making contact right between his legs. Koga pushed Kagome away as he doubled over and howled in pain.

"OW, damn it Kagome come back!" he managed to say at the retreating figure that was Kagome.

Kagome ran through the woods as fast as her mortal legs would carry her. She wanted to be as far away from that jerk as possible. How dare he steal her first kiss like that! Kagome was so angry she was tempted to run back there and kick him a few more times.

She was so blinded by her rage and the tears streaming down her face that she ran straight into Inu yasha. The impact sent her stumbleling backwards and she would have fallen if Inu yasha hadn’t caught her.

"Hey you should really learn to watch where you’re........" He trailed of as he noticed the tears running down her face and the fresh scent of Koga. Immediately he feared the worse. 'If he so much as touched her the wrong way I'll ......I'll kill him!' he thought as Kagome flung herself into his arms. He held her, and tried to comfort her.

When Kagome didn’t show any signs of the tears lighting up, he pulled her away from him so that he could look into her eyes "Kagome it’s all over, whatever happened its over, ok? Your safe now and that’s all that matters" he coed to her as he stroked her soft black hair away from her eyes.

"Oh Inu yasha!" she said hysterically before flinging herself into his caring arms once more. This time he just let her cry. He held her and continued to stroke her hair. Finally after Kagome settled down he asked if she wanted to go to the hot spring to wash off. Kagome agreed but only after he agreed to be her escort.
Kagome entered the warm relaxing water as she began to wash herself with the soaps they had collected when they returned to the village. She remembered they way her friends had flung themselves at her just as she had done to Inu yasha earlier.

There were many questions that she really hadn’t felt like answering, Inu yasha sensed this and told them all to shut up. When Kagome told them she was going to the hot springs to bathe they all volunteered to go with her. She simply told them that she only wished for Inu yasha to come and that she would answer all of there questions later. She rinsed the shampoo out of her hair and began to wash her body again in a desperate attempt to wash away Koga's scent which she was positive was starting to get to Inu yasha.

Inu yasha sat by a nearby shore with his back turned toward Kagome. He was glad she had agreed to take a bath, the smell of Koga's arousal was making him sick at his stomach. He was a little surprised that she had declined the offers her friends had made to go with her. He was actually glad she had. They were hardly ever alone anymore; there was always someone else around. If it wasn’t Miroku, than it was Sango, and heck Shippo hardly ever strays form her side.

He kind of missed the times when they were alone. Not that he didn’t like having the others around, because he did.

During Inu yasha's thinking session Kagome had gotten dressed. She was wearing one of Sangos kimonos, it was a little big around her hips and chest but it certainly beat the sweat stained uniform that was covered with Koga's scent. She would return home later and get some new cloths but for now this would have to do. She walked up and sat down beside Inu yasha.

"You want to go now" he said a little disappointed that their one on one time had already come to an end.

"No not just yet, I'd like to just stay here for a while if that’s ok with you." she replied looking down at the ground. She was ashamed of what had happened, even
if it wasn’t her fault and there was nothing she could have done, she still felt guilty.

This was not left unnoticed by Inu yasha. He put his hand underneath her chin lifting her face to meet his.

"It’s not your fault, Im sure you did everything you could. There’s nothing to be ashamed of" he said softly. He looked her over. She was wearing one of Sangos old kimonos. She looked so normal, like a normal teenage girl in the feudal era. She looked up at him the tears were back in her beautiful brown eyes and were threatening to fall.

“Inu yasha, I was so afraid.......... I was afraid that...." She was silence by his gentle hand over her lips.

"Its ok, you don’t have to say anything" he said. He didn’t want to bring up painful memories of whatever happened.

" But Inu Yasha I wasn’t scared of what he did.....I-I was afraid that you would hate me" she said as the tears began to stream down her face again.

"Shhhhh...Its ok, hey no crying remember? Kagome I could never hate you no matter what he did to you, not even if you did it to him as well" he sighed as he once again held her in his arms.

“B-But he kissed me!" she wailed as she cried into his shoulder. 'Kissed her!' Inu yasha felt a huge release 'Thank the gods he didn’t do more' When he thought about it, it was probably her first kiss. ‘I’ll kill that bastard for taking that from her! How dare he!’

Kagome was no longer shaking with tears; she had cried herself to sleep. He laid her on the ground and removed his outer kimono and wrapped it around before placing her head in his chest. He would let her sleep for now he knew she needed it after all it was probably a little after one in the morning and she had been through a lot that night.

She mumbled something that sounded like his name, then snuggled closer to his chest, he wrapped his arms around her and watched as she slept soundly, for once without the fear of being caught.

Kagomes dreams were filled with visions of what might have happened if she hadn’t been able to get away. They were visions of her being raped by Koga. They looked so real. Her face was coverd in sweat as he took her in his lust, she screamed and screamed in the false hope that someone would find her and save her. She tossed and turned in her sleep. She had to remind herself that this was all a dream and that when she woke Inu yasha would be there to make it all better. Then as if out of nowhere there he was, standing there watching as Koga took her again, he looked at her with his golden eyes shook his head no and faded away till there was nothing left.

"No! Inu yasha don’t go, please, help me!" but he was gone.

In the real world Inu yasha had been awoken by Kagomes thrashing about, his first thought were that they were being attacked, but when he looked at Kagomes sweat covered face with her eyes still closed he realized she was still asleep and was just having a nightmare. It was when she was mumbling his name and plea's for help that he decided to wake her. "Kagome, Kagome you’re just having a nightmare it isn’t real, you need to wake up know Kagome..." he said as he stroked the hair out of her face.

Kagomes eyes flickered open, it was night time she looked around she was in the forest near the hot springs and there was no sign of Koga. The only person there was Inu yasha.

The tears welled up in her eyes as she remembered him fading away, she wrapped her arms around him as if to try to keep him from disappearing again. Inu yasha embraced her in return

" It’s ok Kagome it was just a dream your here with me now and I promise to protect you, I promise, so please stop crying now, you know I can’t stand to see you cry" Kagome stopped crying but did not end the embrace with Inu yasha. Inu yasha removed her arms from around his neck and turned her so that her back was against his chest, he then wrapped his arms around her waist protectively. She wondered why he had done this, and was answered when she opened her eyes and saw the sight in front of her.

The sun was peaking over the horizon, which was hot pink and orange that faded into pale blue then dark purple with the last remaining stars still in view. It was beautiful, her tears dried up as the first rays of the new days sun hit her face, warming her after the cold frightening night. Inu yasha laid his chin on her shoulder as they watched the sun rise together. It was in that moment that they felt as if everything else in the world could wait.

Koga sat on a fallen tree. He wouldn’t have gone all the way without her consent, now he had probably lost her forever. The Images of her frightened face haunted him every time he closed his eyes. "Kagome Im so sorry...." he said.

"Filthy Wolves should stick to their own kind, no use dirtying up another race. You disgust me" a voice said from the shadows.

"Who are you to dare insult the leader of the demon wolf tribe! Show yourself!" Koga said angrily, a figure stepped out of the darkness.

“Awww is the big bad wolf scared? Are you going to run away with your tail between your legs? Speaking of legs, I think yours has something that belongs to my master ........" the figure said evilly.

“How can you be here your supposed to be dead!!!!!" Koga's voice trembled in fear.

"Well, well everyone is a critic, so why don’t you be a good boy and lay down while I rip your legs and arm off!" The figure lunged at Koga, the howl of pain emitted from his very soul could be heard for miles.

Sango awoke to what she thought was the sound, of the hut door closing but when she opened her eyes and saw that everyone was present, with the exception of Inu yasha and Kagome, she tossed the thought to the side and went back to sleep. It was to early to rise from her warm place on her futon.

Kagome and Inu yasha took their time going back to camp after the sun was fully above the horizon. Inu yasha offered to carry Kagome on his back, but she refused insisting that she didn’t want to be pampered. When they finally got back to the village, everyone was in their usual hurry trying to make breakfast and get there morning chores done. When they arrived at Keades hut everyone was asleep with the exceptions of Chibi and Keade. Keade was cooking something that smelled lovely, and Chibi was eating a bowl of it, that is until she noticed Kagome and Inu yasha.

"Kagome mama! Your back!" This set off a chain reaction. First Shippo awoke and yelled something similar to what Chibi said which startled Sango so badly she leapt from her bed and landed on Miroku who yawned and placed his good hand on her butt, which in turn got him slapped.

Kagome laughed and laughed glad that things were getting back to normal.
By noon the group was off in the search of more jewel shards, now it was five and still no rumors of shards or Naraku as a matter of fact. Soon they would have to make camp. They were no were near any villages, a good thing for Inu yasha, or Miroku might have sensed an amourus black cloud hovering above the finest tavern in town.

"Hey Inu yasha what do you say we set up camp?" Sango suggested.

"Huh? Oh yeah sure" Inu yasha wasn’t really thinking about where he was going he had just been walking like a mindless droid for the past hour, and personally it was starting to creep Kagome out. So when the camp had been set up, Kagome dragged
Inu yasha off into the woods insisting that she needed his help with something

"Kagome is there something wrong?"

" Yeah, I'll tell you what’s wrong your acting really weird Inu yasha and your really starting to freak me out!" Inu yasha looked away from Kagome before he spoke

"Kagome there is something that I have to tell you that you might not want to hear" Kagome was concerned now.

"Tell me Inu yasha its ok" she took his hands in hers to try and reassure him that it was alright.

"Its about Koga" Kagome tensed for a minute but then nodded for him to continue.

"I've been picking up his scent all day, and yet you say that you don’t sense the jewel shards he posses. That could mean either he’s severely injured or dead and someone else has taken his shards" Inu yasha finally made eye contact with Kagome. She looked a little paler then before but other than that she was the same Kagome. He didn’t know why he thought his news would change her, it was just that somewhere in the back of his mind he feared that if Kogas name was said out loud that she would break down again.

He should've known his Kagome was stronger then that...... *WAIT JUST ONE FRICKEN MINUTE!!!!!* Since when was she his? ‘Since you fell for her duh' there went that annoying little voice again. He truly wished he could block it out as easily as he did Mirokus. What is with these stupid voices! She was his best friend! And besides even if he did want more, why would she want a worthless hanyou like him

*Hold on where did that come from?* 'don’t look at me ' the little voice replied 'that was all you' then it left him alone with his own thoughts. Kagome was tired of witnessing the war going on his head.

His face displayed all the emotions that his thoughts were causing.

"Inu yasha?" Inu yasha was brought out of his thoughts by the very person his thoughts were about.

"Im sorry what where you saying?" Kagome sighed and rolled her eyes. "I was about to suggest that we find Koga to see what is going on for certain". Well that certainly wasn’t what he had expected. But she did have a point.

"Let’s go back to camp and tell the others where we are going". Wait a minute we?

"You don’t want the others to come?" Inu yasha asked. "Certainly not, we've already set camp and it would be useless to wait till morning he may be gone by then"
Kagome said then started of toward camp. By the time Inu yasha came to his senses and followed she ad already grabbed her bag and told the group that she would be back sometime tomorrow morning and that Inu yasha was coming with her.

They were of in the direction Inu yasha had smelled Koga in. The scent was getting so intense that even Kagome could smell him. It was when they were about 50 feet away when Inu yasha smelled it he stopped to get a good whiff of the air as

Kagome walked on. When he was certain of what he smelled it was too late to stop Kagome from seeing what lay in the next clearing......."AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!" her high pitched shrill of terror echoed through the forest.
