Chapter Two
Chapter Two
Kagome’s nose was hit by the amazing smell of apples and lilacs her two most favorite smells in the world. She was dumbfounded, all she really could do was let her jaw drop. Kaede’s entire hut was covered in lilacs and apple blossoms except the floors of course and Kaede’s table, which had a small bundle of presents, wrapped in brown cloth. When Kagome finally turned to look at the other she noticed that everyone and a look on their face that pretty much said. “What do you think.”
“Wow, all of this for me?”
“Well yeah Kagome, it is your birthday and you work hard to help us here in our time so we figured give you a birthday party from your time, but here with us.”
Sango said as she smiled one of her best’s smiles.
“But…but how did you find out how we celebrate birthdays in my time, if you can’t get to my time?”
“Oh that was the easy part.”
Miroku said triumphantly.
“Yeah they had me go get instructions from your mother.”
Inu Yasha said with an annoyed voice but his lips were smiling as big as Sangos’.
“When did you do that?”
Kagome asked as her smile got bigger in interest.
“When I dropped you off the last week. I waited until you went to your room and I asked her.”
“You guys are so sneaky, is that why Inu Yasha didn’t come to get me sooner than what he did?”
Kagome asked with great amazement in her voice.
“Yes that is indeed why he didn’t come for you sooner.”
Kaede piped in.
“Well enough talking, let’s sing her that song her mother told us to.”
Miroku announced.
Everyone but Kagome gathered around Kaede who held the piece of paper that had the song written on it and they sang…out of tune but they sang.
“Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday dear Kagome,
Happy birthday to you!”
After their lovely serenade Shippo pulled at the bottom of Kagome’s skirt to get her attention.
“Yes Shippo.”
“Here I made this for you.”
Shippo smiled as he gave her something small bundled in a brown cloth. Kagome slowly unwrapped her first present. Her eyes went big and watery at was in the palm of her hand. Shippo had carved and exact replica of her holding Shippo in her arms and at the base it said, “I love you”.
“ Oh, Shippo thank you it is wonderful?”
Kagome said as she leaned down to kiss the top of his head. Getting Shippo to purr with happiness.
“My present next.”
Sango pleaded. Handing Kagome a slightly larger present in the same brown cloth as what Shippo’s was in. Going through the same process as she did with the young kit‘s. Once again Kagome was in awe, the present Sango had given her was something only Sango would know to get.
“Oh Sango, are these the shoes I saw in the last village we were in?”
Kagome said with great excitement. The shoes where a white with a light blue flower design on the top.
“Yes… yes they are.”
Sango said proudly.
“Okay…okay it is my turn to give Kagome a present.”
Miroku chimed in delight. Handing Kagome another present wrapped in cloth.
Kagome was in shock. Before she could say anything herself Sango smacked Miroku upside his head sending him almost clear across the hut. Miroku’s present to Kagome was and excerpt from the Kama Sutra initialing three different sexual experiences.
“You lecher!”
Kagome hollered as another deep red blush took over her body.
“Okay I think it should be my turn”
Kaede said as she came to stand in front of Kagome, placing three unwrapped vials in her hand.
“ What are they?”
Kagome questioned as she brought the vials up to her face.
“They are lilac and apple oils, that I made for you to put on after you bathe.”
“Oh so kind of like your time perfume.”
Kagome smiled as she opened up one of the vials and smelled their sweet aroma.
“Yeah, sure if that is what you call after bath oils.”
Kaede said as she smiled at Kagome whose face was sparkling with joy. Kagome then looked at Inu Yasha hoping to get a present.
“What are you looking at me for?”
Inu Yasha snorted.
“Oh no reason.”
Kagome said as her eyes dropped to the floor in disappointment.
They presided with the rest of the party till almost nightfall, which is when Inu Yasha left the hut and waved for Kagome to follow.
