Surprising meeting


"What we´re we supposed to do again? Protect some chick and a stupid jewel"? Yawned Yusuke as he walked with Kuwabara, Kurama and Hiei down the street to their new case.
"Damn that toddler, we just arrived and he sends us immediately to the next job! We haven´t found the cause of the problem in Makai! How can he be so careless, that girl cannot be more important than that! Keiko will surely skin me for this"! Yelled Yusuke but still didn´t receive an answer from his friends. They were all in their own world thinking to themselves. He looked to Kuwabara who made a thoughtful face. "Oi Kuwabara! What´s wrong"? It wasn´t normal for Kuwabara to think or to be quiet. As he thought that he wouldn´t get an answer Kuwabara turned his head slowly to him and said "Higurashi, Koenma told us her name is Higurashi....it does sound familiar but I can´t remember where I heard it. What about you"?
Yusuke looked at him with irritated eyes and yelled "hell I don´t care who´s damn name that is. For a second you worried me that you sensed something unusual"!

They were almost at the stairs to the Higurashi shrine as Kuwabara said "now that you mentioned it, Hiei, are that presence a youkai"? Hiei´s eyes widened and he cursed as he sprinted up the stairs, the others hot on his heels. As they reached the top stairs they froze on the spot. The sight was just incredible. There stood a young woman in the traditional mike garb with a notched arrow on her bow ready to let go. Her face was devoid of any emotion, she waited perfectly still for the right moment. Only her black long hair swayed from the light breeze. As the snake youkai charged she let her arrow go which shine bright with blue energy until it reached the head of the snake and explodet.

The girl still stood there for a moment, looked down at her clothes and cursed under her breath. She had some pieces of the snake on her garb. "Great! Just great! First Hojo gets on my nerves and I almost strangle him then I come home and some low life youkai attacks me. I lost my temper and instead of purifying it I slaughter it! Well done Kagome now have fun at cleaning the guts of the snake on your clothes! Gods, I hate snakes!
I swear, if something else happens today I will hurt someone badly"!

The four friends still stood on their spot and listened to her rambling until Kurama cleared his throat and Kagome jumped immediately into a defensive stance, her right hand on the hilt of her katana which they hadn´t seen until now. Her sparkling deep blue eyes watched them angrily and then she shouted: "Who the hell are you and what do you want"? Still they stood there dumbfounded, hadn´t expected her move. But then Kuwabara took a step forward and asked "Kags, is that you"? Kagome stared at him until a flash of recognizing crossed her features and a beautiful smile lit her face. She ran with a squeal to Kuwabara and throw herself into his arms as he caught her and swirled her in the air. Their laughter filled the groundss until he set her on her feet.

Yusuke, Hiei and Kuruma still stood there, speechless. They all had questions going through their heads. Who was she and why the hell does Kuwabara know such a breathtaking beauty. If she is a miko why can´t they sense her ki. The demons in the group couldn´t smell her scent and that was almost unnerving. Surely, she couldn´t be as powerful to mask everything so perfectly.

Kagome on the other hand was happy to meet a dear old friend again. They met three years ago as Kagome was still going to school. She was running late and wanted to go home as she noticed that three guys were following her. She didn´t want to know what could have happend if Kuwabara had not crossed her way and beated up the three men without hesitation.
Even as they didn´t see each other very often because he had work to do and she was still travelling to the sengoku jidai, they had become good friends and had a lot of fun together. He was a great guy with a big heart especially for cats. Her thougths were interrupted by him asking her something."Kagome, do you have a jewel which has some kind of power"? At the mention of the jewel Kagome was alarmed and took some steps back. "Why do you want to know and what if I had a jewel? Kuwabara-kun, why are you here and who are these people"?

She looked at Yusuke and could tell he had demonblood in his body but not enough to be a hanyou. He was cute and she had the feeling as if she know him as well. The redhead was a real bishonen, too pretty for his own good with beautiful red hair and sparkling emerald eyes. But how can he have two souls in his body and was the other soul of a kitsune? He seemed a lot like Shippo. The last one was the shortest one of them but definitely the strongest one of all. Her breath caught as she looked into his red eyes. Gods, he was so sexy and clothed in all black with a white scarf and some kind of headband he looked mysterious. She almost laughed at his scowl but it would be not wise to do so. She was sure he was almost as strong as Sesshoumaru if not his equal.

Again her thougts were interrupted by Kuwabara " Kagome, please listen, we were send here to protect you and the jewel. I swear we won´t harm you" he pleaded. "The one with the slick black hair is Yusuke Uremeshi, the redhead is Shuichi Minamino and the short one is Hiei. We are spirit detectives and send by Koenma the leader of the spirit world to come and get you. If you have questions as we have then you have to come with us and Koenma can answer you". Kagome looked into his eyes and could see that he wasn´t lying. As she wanted to answer Yusuke startet to yell "look wench, you have to come with us to Koenma that we finally can discuss this strange situation and find a fucking solution and then follow our own paths"!

Kagome on the ohter hand was pissed, it was over a year ago that someone had called her wench and she too wanted answers. She looked him in the eyes and said in a deadly calm voice "alright, if you can answer me where all this fucking youkai are coming from I´m going with you but know this, if you ever call me a wench again or anything else what is not my name I will fucking purify your sorry ass that even your human part won´t be no more than ash. But first I´m going to change, there is no was I will walk with snake guts around". And with that she walked calmly inte the house, leaving ond stunned and three amused detectives behind. It was not a daily event that someone, especially a girl, could manage to force the detective to back off and leave him speechless. Even Keiko was sometimes violent, he was too thick headed for his own good.
