A Strange Dream

Kagome stared into the crackling fire. She was thinking deeply about something InuYasha could tell. "What is wrong now?" InuYasha said. "Nothing" Kagome said with a sigh. Kagome layed out her sleeping bag and laid down.

She was sitting by the fire again. Staring into it deeply. InuYasha walked over and sat down next to her. "Kagome...?" he said softly. Kagome kept her gaze on the fire. "Did she not hear me? Or is she ignoring me?" InuYasha thought. He put his hand on her chin and turned her head so her face was facing toward him. They looked at each other for a few seconds. "InuYasha I'm so confused about things." Kagome said looking down at her fingers that she was fidgeting with.

He pressed his lips hesitantly at first on her's. Kagome was over taken with emotions and a warmness inside. InuYasha put his hand on Kagome's thigh. Suprised by this, Kagome stopped kissing him for a moment and looked at his hand. InuYasha removed his hand quickly. Kagome blushed and pit his hand back on her leg and kissed him. She pushed him down lightly and started to kiss him more. InuYasha bit her neck and Kagome's vision became red.

She gasped as he woke up. When she woke up she saw InuYasha and was startled. "What were you dreaming? You were making weird sounds.." InuYasha asked with a confused yet curious look on his face as Kagome started to blush. "Uhhh..." Kagome said, as she was trying to think of something to say. Shippou began to stir. "What are you guys doing?" Shippou asked as he got up. "Go back to sleep, runt" InuYasha said. InuYasha was about to ask Kagome about the dream again but she said goodnight and got back into her sleeping bag.

A stream is stained with red. A body laying by the stream cuts all over her wrists. A figner moves slowly. Her chest starts to raise slowly and deeply. "Damn it" the voice says softly to herself. She got up, picked up a book, opened it, and began to write.

Day 1: Regained conciousness within an hour. Feelings of numbnes and tiredness.

Day 2: Woke up and felt as strong as I usually do. The cuts disappeared.

Day 3: Regained conciousness around 12, cut around 10. Had a strange sensation in my fingers when I awoke.

She continued to write. She closed the book, sat down, and layed against a tree. She fell asleep there. As she drifted off into sleep she thought, "what the hell is wrong with me?"

InuYasha was walking toward the stream with Kagome walking next to him and talking about something, Shippou was sitting on Kagome's sholder talking to Kagome. In the background you could hear a slap and then a man say, "Don't misunderstand my intentions." The demon exterminator, Sango, made a face and walked up to talk with Kagome.

"Meow" Kirara said as she ran up to Sango. InuYasha stopped abruptly and snifed the air. "What is it?" Kagome asked as she looked around. "Kagome wait here" InuYasha said over his sholder. "No" Kagome said. ::snort:: "Fine" InuYasha complained. Sango and Miroku stayed back as did Shippou.

As InuYasha and Kagome got closer the scent got stronger to InuYasha and Kagome couldn't help but to feel like there was a strange aura in the direction that they were heading. Kagome saw the girl first. "Hey, who's that?" Kagome asked. "How the hell am I supposed to know?" InuYasha said. InuYasha walked over to the girl and grabbed Kagome's wrist and pulled her with him. Kagome looked at her and as her eyes shifted to the ground she said, "Hey that looks like a journal." InuYasha picked it up and went to open it but it shocked him. "Wow, a barrier on a journal? She must be powerful." Kagome said.

All of the sudden the girl's eyes shot open. Kagome jumped back and InuYasha got infront of her and pulled Tetsusaiga out of its scabbard. The girl stood up and put her hand out so it was pointing toward the journal. She said something that Kagome didn't understand. A small cyclone appeared abruptly as the journal flew out of InuYasha's hand back to the girl's. "Who the hell are you?" she said defensively. "Watch out, this girl has a weird aura" Kagome said. The girl looked down sadly as the question this stranger asked her something that brought back bad memories.

A sharp pain arose in her stomach, as well as her heart. "Well?" InuYasha demanded. "Yume...Nayamashii" the girl said. She had cat eyes. The color of blood. She had black hair that had a dark blueish tint to it. She's wearing really baggy pants that where tight around the ass and a little tight around the thighs. She had these straps on her pants and she had a black belt with metal rings and chains on it. Her hair went half way down her forarm. She wore a tank top that showed off her figure. The tank top was pink. She also wore a cloak and she carried a staff.

"What are you?" Kagome asked. Kagome suddenly felt an overwelming sadness from Yume. She was hesitant to talk but started to say something none-the less. "Well..." she started. "You don't have to say--" Kagome said but then was interupted. "My dad was a night demon and my mom was a mix of things. Mostly she was a sorcerer though." Yume said while looking downward. "What happened to them?" Kagome said. Yume sat down as a long awkward silence filled the air soon after. "Let's go Kagome" InuYasha said impatiently. "We can't just go" Kagome said. Kagome proceeded to ask Yume to come with them, but Yume refused.

Yume sits down next to a tree. Her eyes turn all black, her nails grow almost an inch longer and her hair turns to a firey red. Her canine teeth grew longer and as she rubbed the tip of her tongue across one of the fangs she tasted blood. She picked up the book again, opened it, and chewed on her pen as she pondered how to put what was happening and what has happened into words.

With every transformation I grow stronger. The transformation I think has always happened. I remember it hurting when I was younger and my mother trying to comfort me to make me forget the pain. My father was very powerful. I don't know exactly how powerful...it was just something I felt when I was in the same proximity as him. I remember him being dark but he had a sense of light in him that he kind of hid away from people. He usually dressed in dark colors and when he was alone in a room the room was either completely dark or lit with only one lamp or candle. He was strict and seemed cold hearted but when he was around my mom and me he turned soft, gentle, and funny. Knowing now how hard that was of him, since his enemies would see this as a weakness. My mom was opposite of my father. She usually dressed in brighter colors and practiced her magic a lot. She used to try to keep me and my brother occupied with it. She had a beautiful name also. Sakkaku her mother gave her that name. It meant optical illusion, this is the reason she got her name. She liked to conjure illusions and play tricks and she also started to mess with people when she was in her teen years. I didn't usually hear my mom call dad by his name, which I thought this to be quite strange. I remembered his first name to be Bankou though I never knew his last name. He wasn't really brutal, as his name suggested, he only fought protect us and friends. This characteristic could also be seen as a weakness I suppose, fighting for other's safety before your own. It wasn't raining at first I remember, when my father left for ever. The sun was shinning, I was around 10 or 12 and was practicing some spells. Everything was quiet than I could feel a strange chill go down my spine. I saw my father run out of our home with a Katana in his hand and he told me to hurry inside and kissed the top of my head. I ran inside but watched through the window. I looked up at the sky as dark figures appeared in the distance. I don't remember all the details weither I saw them or just suppressed them I do not know but I know I saw another tall figure that looked male out there. He didn't seem to be there to help. The next thing I remembering seeing was a flash of light and my father was on the ground. Me and my mom hurried outside, I followed her hesitantly. I didn't understand, but an overwelming sadness overtook my heart and as I cried raindrops fell, as if the clouds knew they lost something as well. Between this time and when my mom died she would try to hide all the sadness.

Yume stopped writing and began to look around. She looked up in the sky to see a large feather far away...

Kagome was sitting by the fire next to InuYasha. She suddenly remembered the details of the dream she had the other night and she could feel her heart beating faster. InuYasha looked at her as her gaze pierced the flames of the fire. She could feel his eyes come apon her. His stare burned inside her like the same fire that was before her own eyes. She tried to hold back the urge she had deep within.

Kagome turned her head as her gaze met the golden yellow eyes of the beautiful hanyou. He looked at the ground and started to talk "Kagome...I have to ask you something.." Kagome's heart skipped a beat, she couldn't tell if this was bad or good. He took a breath before he began to speak "...are you sure you want to be here...with me?" Kagome looked at him while his eyes still fell upon the ground. To InuYasha the moment of silence felt like forever and with every passing second he felt as though he was falling farther. "Yes I'm sure. Especially with you." Kagome said. InuYasha looked up and soon after he found Kagome to be hugging him.

InuYasha held Kagome as she fell asleep in his arms and he thought "how can something so small be so comforting?" As he watched her chest go up and down in sync with her breathing he felt a sense of harmony he hadn't felt a lot of. You could hear crickets making their music in the night. The sky was clear and the only light came from the shinning stars, they glowed so bright that they seemed close enough to touch.

The morning came fast. InuYasha sat there and watched as Kagome was still sleeping. Miroku walked up and saw them and a slick smile crept across his lecherous face. InuYasha immediately sprung to his feet from reflex and ran after the monk. He decided to stop and walked back to the foot of the tree that he had slept at. Kagome was awake now, "Finally you're awake" InuYasha said with a hint of embarrassment. "You didn't have to wake me up like THAT!" Kagome said. InuYasha's cheeks began to reden, he tried to hide it but he was unseccessful.
