Chapter Two
~*~Chapter Two~*~
Lost Memories
Every day for the whole week, Hojo walked Kagome to school and to all her classes and he even walked with her to the lunchroom. The loss for this unknown friend of hers has hurt her really badly and he wants to do everything he can in his power to cheer her up and make her happy again. However, until Kagome sees Inuyasha again, if she ever will, she will never be happy again. Never . . .
~Inuyasha~
“Inuyasha!” Inuyasha's father shouted. “Get up out of bed now! This is your first day at this school and you're NOT going to miss it!”
Inuyasha growled. “Why do I HAVE to go to school?!” he demanded. “School is so god damned boring and this school will probably have no cute girls there either!”
“What would you care? You're always too shy to flirt with any or even go up to a girl and tell her that you think she's cute.”
“So? It's still nice to have cute girls around.”
His father sighed. “Just get up Inuyasha. School starts in an hour. You have a half hour to get ready and I want you out that door in a half hour. If you're not, I'll send you out the way you are, even if you're in a towel. You're going to school.”
Inuyasha pushed the blankets off of him and got out of bed. Slowly and lazily, he dressed himself, thinking of the dream he had last night. There was this strange girl in a school uniform in a time he didn't recognize and he was in this really big red kimono. It was all torn up and he was all bloody. The girl had aimed a bow and arrow at him and let go. He woke up after that. Every night, that dream haunts him. 'Who is that girl?' he thought to himself. 'And why does she seem so familiar when I haven't even seen her before in my life?'
When Inuyasha came downstairs for breakfast, his butler, Miroku was waiting for him by his seat.
“What would you like for breakfast this morning m' Lord?” Miroku asked.
'And why was Miroku dressed like a monk in my dream?' he though. “Pancakes I guess,” Inuyasha replied. “With coffee.”
“Okay. I shall have the chefs work on it immediately and you breakfast will be done soon.”
“Thanks,” Inuyasha said.
The maid, Sango came in. “Excuse me sir,” she said. “I would like permission to enter your room to retrieve all your dirty laundry. May I?”
Inuyasha just waved at her, his way of giving a silent yes. 'And why was she dressed like she was ready for battle all the time and rode on a large cat demon' he thought to himself.
Sesshomaru came downstairs. “So, little brother, you decided to join us for breakfast this morning.”
“Not like I had a choice,” Inuyasha growled.
“Don't forget to have your mother cast the spell to make your appearance human so you may attend this human school.”
“Shut up Sesshomaru and stop reminding me. I'm pissed off enough that I have to go to a school full of weaklings.”
“Don't feel so bad. Father is making me go to college that is also full of humans. I have to make my appearance seem human as well.”
“Keh. Like I care about you. Even if you do get to appear as human, you'll still be as cold blooded as ever.”
Sesshomaru sighed. “Little brother, are you always going to hold this grudge you have against me?”
“Yes?”
“May I ask why?” Sesshomaru asked.
“Because you're an ass,” Inuyasha replied as he thought, 'And why was Sesshomaru dressed like he was all high and mighty, and what the hell was that fluffy thing around his shoulders? Was he supposed to be gay or something?'
Sesshomaru took a seat at the other end of the table. “Relax Inuyasha,” he said as he felt Inuyasha tense. “I'm not going to attack you. If I wanted to kill you, you would've been dead long ago.”
'And how come I was able to use tetsusaiga in my dream, but in real life I'm not? All father ever tells me is that it's too powerful for someone like me. Keh. Yeah right. Nothings too powerful for me! I can take on anything or anyone and they wouldn't be too powerful!' he thought stubbornly. He crossed his arms across his chest.
Miroku came in with a tray and said, “Your breakfast is ready Lord Inuyasha.”
“How many times do I have to tell you to just call me Inuyasha? Not Lord Inuyasha. Just Inuyasha! I-N-U-Y-A-S-H-A! In-u-ya-sha! Inuyasha! Get it through your head!”
“Yes sir,” Miroku said. He placed the tray in front of Inuyasha and took the lid off. “Enjoy your meal Inuyasha.” As Sango walked by, Miroku took the chance to grab her ass, followed by a resounding SLAP!!
Inuyasha sighed. “The dude never gives up.”
Miroku sighed, a hand print sketched clearly across the face as the perfect replica of the outline of Sango's hand. He shrugged. “Can't blame a guy for trying,” he said as he headed to the kitchen.
The time came for Inuyasha to leave, so he went to his mother.
“Mother, I need the spell to make me look human,” he said angrily, his arms crossed stubbornly across his chest.
His mother came out from her room, chuckling. “Come here my dear son.”
He calmed at his mother's voice and allowed her to place her soft warm hand on his face. He heard her mutter something in a language he couldn't understand and immediately, his hair grew shorter and turned black, his claws turned into nails, his dog ears disappeared and reappeared at the side of his head as human ears, and now, instead of having deadly looking amber eyes, he has calm, warm, midnight blue eyes. His black hair and midnight blue eyes were traits he received from his mother for his human form. As well as her kind heart and care for others. Well, he's not half as kind hearted as his mother, but he does have a soft side, even if he is a half demon. But he is half human too after all.
She brought her hands down from his face and said in her gentle voice, “Even as a human, you're still the handsome man that you've always been destined to be.” She kissed him on the cheek. “Now off to school with you. You don't want to be late.”
Inuyasha gave his mother one last hug and a kiss on the cheek before walking to the door and to the limo that waited outside the mansion door.
“Mama's boy,” Sesshomaru muttered as Inuyasha walked past.
“I heard that!” Inuyasha shouted. “Just because I'm human, doesn't mean I can't still hear as good!”
His cold hearted brother chuckled. “I was just testing you Inuyasha.”
“Yeah right,” Inuyasha said, and he left the mansion and jumped into the limo that waited outside for him.
“Ready?” the limo driver asked. The limo driver's name is Jaken. He's a small man in his human/demon form, but an excellent driver and has an excellent sense of direction, exactly why he was chosen as the family's limo driver. He's also their faithful servant who has been serving under his father's family for generations.
“Yeah, whatever,” Inuyasha replied.
“Off we go,” Jaken said, and he slowly pulled out of the mansion driveway.
~Kagome~
Kagome was just talking to Hojo when she was distracted by a crowd of people who formed at the end of the school driveway where a limo stood parked. A man climbed out of the limo.
“Wow . . . Who is he?” Kagome asked, staring at the man in a complete daze. However, there was something familiar about him that she recognized. His black hair and midnight blue eyes.
“Alright, alright already! Leave me alone! Geeze! Give me some space! Damn! What am I, god or something?!” he asked in a demanding voice.
His voice definitely caught Kagome's attention. “Inuyasha . . .” she said in a whisper.
Hojo looked down at her. “Inuyasha? Is that his name? How do you know him?”
“He came back . . .” Tears sprang to Kagome's.
“Came back? Who came back?” Hojo asked. He looked down at Kagome and realized that she was crying. Oh how much he hated to see her cry. Immediately, he got in front of her and started hugging her. “Please stop crying!” he begged. “Please stop! I will get down on my hands and knees and beg for you to stop crying if I have to! But please don't cry!”
“I can't go,” Kagome said. “I can't go to school today. I can't do it. I-I'm sorry.” She turned and ran.
“Kagome! Wait! Please!”
“I'm sorry Hojo!” Kagome shouted over her shoulder. “But I can't deal with school today!”
Inuyasha looked over to his left to see Kagome running from Hojo. He thought Hojo was trying to bully her and he ran over to them as fast as he could in his human form and stopped in front of him. “Where do you think you're goin'?” Inuyasha asked.
“I'm trying to get Kagome. Something is bothering her and I want to know what,” Hojo said.
“Gee, could it be that you're chasing her?” Inuyasha said back.
“No, no, no, no, no! That's not it! Kagome and I are a couple,” Hojo said. “We've been going out for the past year or so.”
Inuyasha was a little confused and said, “Why is she so sad anyways?”
“I don't know,” Hojo said. “She lost a friend over seven months ago, and she must've seen someone that reminded her of her friend. She said he was a really great guy when he wasn't being a jerk or trying to pound her little friend on the head all the time.”
Inuyasha chuckled at that. “Anyways, I didn't come to school to be late, so just leave the poor girl alone and I'll have Jaken drive you to her house after school to see if she's all right. I'll go in there with you because, even though I don't know the girl, she's kinda got me worried,” he said. 'Her friend must've been really important to her. The scent of her tears is so strong. She must be bawling her eyes out if the scent of her tears is that strong.' He looked over at Hojo and said, “Since I already met you, would you mind showing me around the building so I won't get lost?”
Hojo smiled. “Sure, as long as you'll be my friend.”
“Deal,” Inuyasha said and they shook hands.
“I'm Hojo,” Hojo said, introducing himself.
“Inuyasha,” Inuyasha replied.
Hojo smiled. “I'll show you around. We still have at least fifteen minutes before school starts. But hey, are you rich or something? You pulled up in a limo.”
“Yeah, what of it?” Inuyasha asked.
Hojo shook his head. “Nothing,” he replied. “Just curious.” He walked him into the building. “On your right, that is a ninth grade class room. You don't have to worry about going there. Us tenth graders never go there. So, this hallway really isn't worth showing to a tenth grader.” They turned the corner. “This is the tenth grade hallway. See? You have the art room right here on the right. The gym is down at the end of the hallway on your left. We also have a tennis court and a football field outside. You should join up for the football team. You look like a well built guy, and you seem pretty strong too.”
Inuyasha shook his head. “I don't like playing sports. It frustrates me.”
“Oh. Anyways, it's just an option. You don't have to join up if you don't want to. There is an extra space open though. It's an opening for a quarter back. You would do well.”
Inuyasha smirked, glad that he was being complimented instead of insulted. 'Maybe this school isn't so bad after all. I've only been here five minutes and I've already made a friend.'
A/N: Just to warn you, these first few chapters will have a lot of sad stuff in it. There will be plenty of action later on. I promise. Cuz, remember, Inuyasha dies and gets brought back because of the Shikon no Tama (Sacred Jewel), so of course Kagome's going to be said about his death, until she realizes that her wish really did come true and the Inuyasha she seen, was real.
