Moving On

" Look out Inuyasha!" screamed Kagome.

Inuyasha jumped into the air slashing the tentacle that came towards him. The gang was camping not far from Kaede's village when Naraku came to retreive the last shard. He had already taken the two that Kouga had in his legs. Kouga came to them that day bleeding to tell them that Naraku would be coming for them. They made camp far enough from the village so that the inhabitants wouldn't get hurt. Kagome had patched up Kouga and they began to come up with a plan. They were in the middle of talking when Sesshomaru joined them. He told Inuyasha that he would help kill Naraku for killing Kagura. He missed the wind sorceress. They all were talking when Naraku came up as soon as the sun came up. And the fight began. Sango threw Hiraikotsu slicing through thousands of insects. Miroku could not use his Kazaana due to their venom. So he just used his staff to keep them away from the young miko. Kagome notched an arrow and shot it at Naraku's chest. He jumped out of the way before it purified him. Inuyasha had the Tetsuiaga using the wind scar to slice the insects as well. Even Kikyo was there shooting her arrows. A tentacle made it way towards Kagome when she felt herself being lifted in the air.

" Thanks Kirara."

The giant cat just sat her down next to the well and flew back to the demon slayer. Kagome looked around at the sight infront of her. All of her friends were here fighting for their lives. She knew what she had to do.

" Kikyo." she yelled.

Kikyo looked in her direction and saw the expression on her face. She had a plan. Kagome took the last shard from around her neck and threw it to Kikyo. Kikyo made her way around Naraku while he was fighting Inuyasha. His attention was caught when he heard the miko scream his name.

" Naraku, it's time for you to die." she screamed as she let loose an arrow. He was to busy watching the arrow to notice that Kikyo had come up behind him and grabbed his huge piece of the jewel and connected it at once. Then she threw her arms around Naraku just when the arrow hit him in the heart. There was a big flash of pink light and pink rays were shooting in all directions. One was heading straight for Kagome when she felt strong arms around her waist. Whoever held her fell backwards into the well with her.

Minutes passed until everybody started to get up from the ground. Inuyasha looked around until he saw Kikyo laying on the ground. He dropped Tetsusiaga and ran to her. He grabbed her up in his arms wiping the hair out of her face.

" Kikyo. We did it. Naraku is dead." he said.

" Inuyasha. I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I never forgave you. I want you to know that I have always loved you. You must do me a favor Inuyasha."

" Anything."

" I want you to go on living for me." she said as blood slid down the corner of her mouth. Tears were already in her eyes.

" NO!!! You can not leave me. Not now that the war is over." he shouted. Tears were falling down his own face now.

Kikyo reached up with the last bit of her strengh and touched his tear soaked cheek. " I love you." Her hand fell to land on the ground next to her and her eyes closed for good.

Inuyasha sat there rocking her dead body for several minutes before getting up to see who else was still alive. He saw Miroku and Sango standing around looking over what was their battlefield. He walked over to them wiping the tears off his face.

" Is everybody ok?" he asked.

" Yeah I think so. Look my Kazaana is gone" and threw his hand in Inuyasha face. "But I don't see Kagome anywhere."

" She is gone." This came from Kouga who had just rejoined the group.

" What do you mean she is gone?" Inuyasha asked and then his mind remembered the fight. He looked over at Kagome long enough to see Sesshomaru try and shield her from the blast. He was knocked over into the well with her. ' No problem. They would just come back through any minute.' His bubble popped when he looked at the well. It was shattered into thousands of pieces. He would never see her again. And what was worse, Sesshomaru was stuck in her time now. He could never come back here where he belonged.

Kagome woke up and found the cold hard ground under her. On top of her she felt warmth. She opened her eyes slowly and saw Sesshomaru laying half way on top of her. He was awake and looking up at the ceiling. She moved her hand to touch her head. Her skull had taken a good knock. She got up slowly and felt dizzy. She almost fell back down when she felt strong arms go around her waist.

" Are you ok?" he asked.

" Yeah. Nothing an aspirin won't fix."

" Where did the sky go?"

" Sesshomaru there is something that you need to know. This well is a time portal if you want to call it that. I live in the future. About 500 years from your time. We need to climb up and jump back in to get you back to your time."

Sesshomaru grabbed her around the waist once more and jumped up to the top of the well.

" Ok, now just grab my hand and we will jump in." she said.

Sesshomaru took her hand in his and looked into her eyes. He had never seen eyes that sincere before. Rin had them but she was a child. They jumped into the well only to land on the hard dirt below. Sesshomaru looked at her.

" What is wrong?" he asked.

" I don't know. It should have worked." Kagome stood there thinking. ' Uh oh.' She no longer had a piece of the jewel shard. She couldn't go back. Which meant the Sesshomaru was trapped here in her time. ' How am I going to explain this to him. He is going to rip my head off.'

Kagome looked up at Sesshomaru and tried to smile.

" I do not find this amusing. What happened? Why am I not back in my own time?"

" Well you see, I used the shards of the Shikon no tama to travel back and forth through time. I believe now that it was completed in your time that I can no longer go through. Which would mean that you are stuck here. In my time."

"WHAT?" Sesshomaru screamed.
