Chapter 2
Sorry for taking so long to update, been pretty busy. Here’s chapter 2, enjoy!!
I also had to rewrite this chapter twice.
___________________________________________________
I do not own any part of Inuyasha and therefore am unimportant. I hope you guys like this one. It should be better than the first one. Lemon in a couple of chapters ahead.
___________________________________________________________
Inuyasha leapt into the air and the creature shot those, those, he didn’t know what they were. After he landed he quickly jumped again as the place where he was just standing erupted into a checkered patch of ground. He didn’t like this at all. He had no clue on what this thing was, what he was firing, and how to make him stop. He quickly dashed into the bushes where Kagome was and grabbed her and jumped. He quickly spat out the leaves he had gotten into his mouth and asked her “What is that stuff that he’s shooting out of that?” Kagome answered quickly “If he is from my era, then what he’s holding is called a gun, and the things that fly from it are bullets, they fly at high speeds and pierce whatever they hit” Inuyasha’s eyes widened. He hadn’t expected anything like that. He hit the ground and jumped again, this time outside the clearing as to not put Kagome into any danger. How was he going to stop someone who had a weapon that quickly shot out those dreaded bullets, wait that was another question “Any Idea’s how to get that thing, that gun away from him?” “Uhh, you have to either wait until he reloads it or until he runs out of ammo.” That phrase helped Inuyasha gain some of his confidence back, “So, he can run out of those can he? I think this just got a lot easier.” He set Kagome down, whom he had been holding in his arms the whole time. He quickly glanced at Kagome and told her “Go join Sango and Miroku, and head back to the camp, they shouldn’t be by this kind of thing so keep them back, I’ll meet you when I’m finished.” And with that he leapt back into the clearing to meet the creature.
Inuyasha flew through the air and landed back into the clearing. The poison fog that had been there was a little less thick, but still there. The person he was to challenge was just standing there patiently. “Glad to see you didn’t take the cowards way out,” the figure said, his helmet distorting the sound slightly “now you can die like a real soldier.” “Ha, don’t make me laugh, I don’t think I’ll be getting killed at all today, let alone by some human, I won’t even use my sword.” As Inuyasha tossed the sword aside the figure chuckled making Inuyasha growl, “I doubt that.” And with that he fired at Inuyasha. Inuyasha felt a bullet whiz right past his arm, and another one made contact with his clothing as he jumped into the air to dodge the rest of them. He jumped into the fog right next to the figure and swiped real fast. The figure barely managed to duck in time. As he ducked he spun around behind Inuyasha and grabbed him by the head and tried flip him on the ground. Inuyasha grunted at this “Man this guy is strong for a human” he thought to himself. Inuyasha just brought his legs up and ended up falling out of the guy’s hold, but also managing to fall square on his ass. The figured quickly tried a low round house kick, but Inuyasha ducked and swiped again. He jumped back and put some space between them. “Where do you think your going?” Inuyasha growled. “Just thought I’d find out your name, that’s all. As he said that, thick clouds covered the sky and made everything almost pitch black, as this happened, Inuyasha noticed the green eye of the figure suddenly increase in brightness. Inuyasha frowned at the question and the weird eye changes. “He stopped a battle for that” he thought, then said loudly “My name is Inuyasha.” “Ah, it suits you, you can call me Sarge.”
_____________________________________________________________-
Naraku hung in the shadows, watching the match with a wicked smile on his face, “No matter who loses, I win” He thought, the strange human who identifies himself as “Sarge” was a force to be reckoned with and as was Inuyasha. Why, that human had killed half of his personal guards. He grimaced in anger; they would be hard to replace.
He knew why Inuyasha hadn’t smelled him yet, that poisonous cloud in there was also a numbing agent, which had by now numbed Inuyasha’s nose. He smiled again and watched as the match continued from their little discussion
_________________________________________________
With the words out of his mouth Sarge lifted his slung weapon from his back but before he could fire, Inuyasha was already in the air. He fired several shots into the area in front of the hanyou, but to no avail, all he managed to do was hit his clothing and piss him off a little more. Inuyasha came down hard “Iron reaver soul stealer” He yelled as he slashed hard. Sarge managed to spin out of the way of the major part of it, but got hit in the arm pretty good. He flew in the direction directly in front of Inuyasha. But while he flew, he lifted his gun with his good arm and fired. Inuyasha felt 2 bullets hit him. One hit him in the right side of his chest, and the other one nicked his leg. He quickly gripped the place in his chest where he had been hit. “Damn that hurt like a bitch,” He thought to himself.
Sarge had taken no time getting back up. He quickly lifted his weapon again and fired yet another burst. “He got me.” Was all Sarge could think. He decided to make that the last time so he shouldered his beloved sub-machine gun. He had made this baby himself, came up with the designs and all, but he couldn’t think about that right now, he had a battle to win. He felt it thunder against his shoulder, each thump causing another drop of blood drip from his arm. He saw the hanyou as clear as day thanks to his helmet. Not only did it filter his air of toxins, but it also allowed for him to have night and thermal vision. Each type of vision was enabled one at a time in one eye, so he could only see with night vision in one eye, the one that glowed green, and the thermal in the other one that glowed red. He loved his inventions; they came handy in combat. He was disappointed that his shots missed, but had made that cursed hanyou move around a lot more. He sighed again and fired some bursts until he heard the dreaded “click”, meaning he needed to reload. He hoped the hanyou had no idea he needed to reload, but his hopes were dashed when the hanyou came running at him. He quickly ejected the empty cartridge, but he knew he’d never get another one in on time. So he reached for his belt and produced a throwing knife and expertly threw it at the charging half-demon.
_______________________________________________________
Inuyasha jumped to the side, finding he couldn’t move quite as fast with his leg impaired. Inuyasha noticed the blood oozing out of the human’s upper arm. The sight brought a slight smile “I can do this.” With that thought he bellowed a war cry and ran full speed at the human. Sarge hadn’t been expecting that, hoping the knife would slow him down so he was caught off guard.. Inuyasha slung his claws madly at Sarge and it was all he could do to lift his gun to block his attacks, but at the third swipe, the gun got knocked loose from his grip. Inuyasha took advantage of this golden opportunity and started swiping harder. The feeling of flesh rewarded him beneath his claws. Sarge screamed out, his mask making echoes. He quickly punched Inuyasha in the stomach, making him double over, lifted his boot up in the air above him and brought it down in the middle of his back. With Inuyasha of the ground he reached to his belt, grabbed one of the weird looking round objects and yanked it off his belt. He held it up and pulled a small piece of metal from it and threw it at Inuyasha and took off.. The images of the explosions before hand came rushing back to him as the thing bounced in front of him. He got up and jumped as quickly as he could and not a moment too soon. Just as he cleared the general area, a loud bang and an explosion came forth and dispersed of the toxic vapors lingering in the area. But it also produced a large cloud of dust. Inuyasha decided that this cloud would make the perfect ambush set-up. So he quickly took refuge inside the smoke. He stood there, looking for any sign of the human until he came out of nowhere with a rather sharp looking knife. His red eye was glowing more than his green eye right now.
_____________________________________________________________-
Sarge held is side. “The bastard got me good,” He thought. He had dashed into the cloud as soon as it appeared, hoping to catch the half-demon off guard. But he was right there looking for him, but that didn’t mean he saw him in time. He unsheathed his combat knife and quickly slashed away at Inuyasha’s fore arms, as he had raised them to defend himself. Inuyasha roared in pain and kicked upward, but Sarge had already jumped and kicked off Inuyasha’s chest to back away. But not before he unpinned a frag grenade and left at Inuyasha’s feet. Inuyasha had already seen it land and had disappeared before it landed. Sarge looked around, sheathing his blade. He heard a slight growl, but didn’t know where it was coming from. Then his eyes widened and he snapped his head up. There he was coming down full force right above him. Sarge side rolled as fast as he could, and got to his feet. He reached for his most powerful and beloved gun on his hip, his AE 50 magnum handgun. He drew it as Inuyasha was regaining his composure from the attack that would have certainly killed him if he hadn’t moved a fraction of a second early. He fired one shot, and it kicked back furiously. He had to re-aim but Inuyasha was already in front him. Apparently the bullet failed to reach its mark. He pointed the gun at Inuyasha but the gun was slapped down and he fired point blank into Inuyasha’s stomach. Inuyasha reeled in pain, but quickly backhanded the human throwing him off balance. He stumbled backwards, somewhat dizzy from the hanyous hit. He looked at where the half-demon was, but didn’t see him. He quickly looked up, but didn’t see him there either. “What the..” he started to say but felt a extremely painful pressure on his side where he had been injured. Inuyasha was clawing at his open wound from behind him! He swung his leg to get Inuyasha away but Inuyasha had already leaped into the air. The kick caused Sarge to loose his balance and by the time he regained his composure, it was too late. “Iron reaver soul stealer.” He heard the hanyou yell as he felt his incredibly sharp claws rip through his chest armor. He pulled the trigger of his favorite gun in shock. He felt the claws run deep into his chest, causing him to fall backwards. Right when the claws touched him, he knew right then this attack would be fatal. The farther the claws slashed down his chest, the slower time seemed to go. He saw the AE Magnum shell do little flips in the air, as it collided with some drops of flying blood, his blood. The shiny brass seemed to turn a dark rust color right in front of him. He saw little droplets of blood fall freely from where the flesh had been torn. His beloved Magnum handgun spun towards the ground, also picking up droplets of blood. He felt Inuyasha’s claws leave his body around the area above his stomach. He watched as blood also spattered on Inuyasha’s arms and face. His thoughts would have been almost comical, if not for that fact he had three deep gashes running from below his neck and down his chest. “Shit...this sucks...” After what seemed like an eternity, he felt his back come into contact with a cold, dew covered ground. His blood mixing with the water on top of the grass leaves, making the area around him look almost as red as one of his eyes. He felt the life draining out of him, he knew he couldn’t keep conscious much longer. Each breath was a challenge and the next one was twice as hard as the previous. He gripped the pocket which contained the jewel shards, “No, now I can’t rebuild and destroy this abominable creation, it will continue to infest the world with evil....I...Failed...” He was somewhat relieved he wouldn’t have to explain this failure to his superiors. His mind began to dim and his thoughts were unorganized, he lifted his head slightly and looked directly at Inuyasha who was looking right back at him. He felt his last trickle of energy leave him and his head fell backwards onto the blood covered ground, and darkness overpowered his mind.
_______________________________________________
Inuyasha looked at his enemy. He had a slight sense of sadness slaying such a good opponent, and the fact it was a human. He never could get used to killing humans. He decided that it would be best to take the jewels and get out of there. He was in pretty bad shape too. He knelt down and started to pat down the fallen warrior’s vest. He searched the pocket he was clutching and found a shiny metallic case. He fumbled around with it and found out how to open it. He opened it slowly and found in a red velvet case with 3 jewel shard pieces. He took it and started too walk away. He stopped and looked back at his fallen enemy, “Pitiful.” He thought, he’d come back to bury him tomorrow, but for now he needed to heal from what the bastard had done to him.

With Inuyasha gone and his nose still undoubtfuly numb, Naraku slunk out of the shadows and kneeled beside the fallen one called “Sarge”. Naraku examined him closely, looking at his strange uniform. Then he realized something that surprised even him; the human was still alive. He wasn’t breathing much if at all, but his heart was still beating slightly. Naraku lifted his sword up to finish what the hanyou didn’t when he got an idea. He’d use this being to kill Inuyasha. He smiled evilly and brought out a powder. He wasn’t going to use a sacred jewel shard. He had learned his lesson with that female demon slayer. Instead he would just use a spell he had learned since then in case something like that were to happen again. A good thing he prepared, he thought with a smile. Right then he heard the humans heart stop. "Shit," he though as he reached for a small leather bag. He opened it and sprinkled a powder heavily on the still body of the human, “I better hurry this up,” thought Naraku “if I wait too long, I might not be able to bring him back” He chanted a long string of words and an orangish pink light glowed from the powder as it sank through the clothing and sank into the skin, healing and producing as much blood as it could. It healed up everything except the three gash marks down his chest. There was enough powder to close it up, but it still left three very visible claw marks that Naraku could see through the tear in the clothing. As the light grew brighter, it did one quick pulsation, restarting the humans heart and dimmed to nothing. Naraku stared evilly at the figure “You going to kill Inuyasha for me, then I’m going to kill you.” He laughed and then noticed the figure’s breathing improved greatly and Naraku quickly took his place in some nearby trees. The figure slowly arose.

Kagome was in deep worry, worried about Inuyasha. She didn’t want to see him get hurt again. Although she wouldn’t admit it, she always hurt inside whenever Inuyasha got injured. She just cared for him so deeply. With Miroku and Sango haven fallen asleep, Kagome was left to worry and to think by herself. She was in her sleeping bag wide-awake, deep in thought, when she heard the rustle of footsteps. But something was wrong with them; they seemed uneven and staggered. She leapt out of her sleeping bag and ran through the circular bunch of trees just too literally bump face to face with Inuyasha. But she lost her balance and started to fall forward, but luckily Inuyasha caught her just in time. They stayed just like that for about 5 seconds, before Kagome remembered the staggered foot steps and backed up to sum up Inuyasha’s wounds. She couldn’t help but notice the jewel shards he was carrying. She was too far in thought to even sense them she thought. She looked him over and gasped at what she saw. I large hole in his leg and chest, a couple of holes in his clothes, lots of slash marks on his forearms, several of what she guessed where bullet grazes on his arms, and to top it off, a huge hole in his stomach. None of them were too bad except the hole in his stomach worried her. “Inuyasha, are you ok?” “Yeah just great,” he winced slightly as he put weight on his leg again, “just fetch some bandages.” This worried Kagome, he usually always refused bandages. She fetched her backpack, and pulled out the various medical supplies. He sat down next to Kagome and didn’t move. “Well?” “Well what Kagome?” “Well are you going to take off your haouri?” “I..I can’t.” He said quietly. “What, Inuyasha your going to have to speak up.” “I can’t all right, this damn hole in my gut hurts to even breathe, let alone move much at all.” Kagome was surprised; usually he wouldn’t admit anything like that. “Well then, hold you arms straight out.” He did as he was told and Kagome worked on getting his haori off gently and slowly. She was slightly embarrassed and Inuyasha was just as embarrassed as she tugged at this and that on his clothing. Finally she undid it and had it off; next she had to unbutton his white flowing shirt. She worked from the top, slowly making her way down. Her face was almost as red as Inuyasha’s who had shifted his gaze off to the side. Finally she had him naked from the waist up and was able to tend to his wounds. All of them were easy, just the usual for Inuyasha, except the wound in his stomach, it took a lot of salve to cover both sides of that one. After she was done, he was able to dress himself and tend to the wound on his leg by himself. After he was done, he helped Kagome put the things back into her bag. After they were done, they just stared at each other. Then, both of them collapsed into each other’s arms in a tight hug. It hurt like hell for Inuyasha, and Kagome got blood on her school clothes. But for this, Inuyasha was willing to suffer through anything, and Kagome didn’t know who else’s blood she’d rather have stain her clothes, kind of an strange, but romantic thing Kagome thought. After what seemed like a flash, the hug was over. Both were somewhat red-faced, but smiled at each other and went to their own sleeping places.

Sarge was in shock. Why am I alive? How am I alive? He decided to find these out later using his various gadgets. He checked his clothing and it was drenched in blood...his own blood. But he could find a scratch on him until he felt his chest. The large fatal claw-marks that the hanyou had left were still there but not the one on his arm. After a self-exam, he decided he was healthy enough to return back to his home base. Actually, it wasn’t more of a base than it was his home. He decided since he was still kind of weak, he would need a stealthy return. He sneaked around for his weapons, loaded them and flicked his helmet’s filter to night vision. He decided to see that if there was anything that he needed to worry about, so he took a quick look around, using his thermal filter. He quickly saw a figure in the trees. “You there,” he said directly to the hooded figure, and it lifted its head, only to show a baboon face, “what are you doing here and what have you done to me?” He figured the way this monkey skin clad figure was acting; he must have had something to do with the fact he was still alive, and since he did that, he also figured it wouldn’t try to harm him. Why bring him to life and then kill him again? He hooded figure spoke. “I wanted to help you, my dear human, you seemed quite determined to win that battle you were in, and figured to give you what you want. I did the courteous thing and revived you from death. I hope you don’t mind. But since you are alive and well, why not finish what you started.” “How about later monkey man, I’ve got more important things to do, but mark my words, that hanyou will die soon by my hand.” “As you say.” And with that the skin clad figure disappeared, but his words echoed in the wind. “Call me Naraku.” “Naraku huh, I’ll remember that.” Sarge thought to himself as he took a stalking pattern into the woods toward his base. He would grab the more deadly weapons of his arsenal to finish that annoying hanyou. Then he would get back what was stolen from him. “No one kills me and gets away with it” He thought of the ironecy of that statement making him chuckle as he stalked the night with his glowing eyes into the darkness.
