The elevator had stopped and what had surprised Inuyasha the most was the elevator actually stopped on his desired floor, which only meant one thing...someone was in it and going to visit Naraku. How could he not have smelled them, how could he not have smelled her.

'I'm such an idiot, I was too into this not to notice' Mentally beating himself up he crawled through the now open door on the elevator roof. Making his way out he heard the office door click, and took the opportunity to use his Hanyou hearing to figure out what was going on

"Ms. Hig....Kagome, you seem to have something I want, and quite frankly I will have it, and nothing, and I really do mean nothing will stand in my way." He heard the muffled speech of the slime ball Naraku through the door.

'What does she have?' Hearing Naraku speak only interested Inuyasha further 'maybe she knows where the Shikon Jewel is' Inuyasha became excited, but he wouldn't get his hopes up, not yet.

"What is it you want me for then?" Inuyasha could smell the nervousness radiating off of the girl, in return he was becoming tense 'something is going to happen, this isn't going the way I planned, but I can't just barge in there....DAMMIT' He screamed to himself, nothing was going right now, there were only supposed to be two factors, Naraku, and himself, yes the whole operation was now fucked up.

"Do you really not know what I want?" He was moving around in his office, Inuyasha could hear the scratching of Naraku's suit as he took his steady steps towards the poor girl 'Can't she tell she is in danger? stupid stupid girl, get out of there.' He kept quiet, he knew what he was going to do, the moment he made a move to attack the girl he was getting in there, now he just had to wait.

She was no longer nervous she was down right terrified, he could smell her disgust, but wait, why was she disgusted? ' he's touching her, dammit women you're too trusting.' Frustrated both mentally and physically, he wanted to get the dumb girl out of harms way while finishing his intended mission, but he couldn't not yet, he had to figure out what this girl had that Naraku was so interested in. 'COME ON ALREADY' screaming inside his head.

"Silly girl"....He heard her slight squeak of alarm and the retched smell of fear and panic "THE SHIKON JEWEL!" There is was his invite, he didn't even wait, Inuyasha burst through the door, the young girl limp in the clutches of the disgusting beast.

"LET HER GO NARAKU, your fight is with me.." The sick smile was on Naraku's face causing Inuyasha to shudder. The girl in his grip was limp obviously passed out from the lack of air, but he could she couldn't last much longer she was dying, and they both knew it.

"Silly little Hanyou, do you think you can really stop me? I mean seriously she has what we both want, it's just a matter of extracting it from her." What the hell was the insane man talking about?

"What the hell are you talking about Naraku, she is just a girl, she can't control the power of the jewel, and you damn well know it."

"NO!!! you fool, she isn't just any girl, she is a miko, a priestess, she carries the jewel with in herself, only she doesn't know it, and she will never know it, because when I'm through with you she'll be dead"

Hearing Naraku speak was sickening, how was he going to get the girl out of his grip, she couldn't hold out much longer, there was only one thing he could think of, shoot her out. Inuyasha pulled the gun that he had hidden in the back of his belt, and aimed it at grotesque man before him, cocking the gun he decided to give the man one last warning.

"What are you plans with that, you know the moment you fire it I'll have security guards all around this place, you'll have no way out, and even if you do shoot me, what about the girl? Do you really think you save her, and yourself at the same time?"

Growling he made no move to back down, and he fired aiming for the hand that held the girl. Her lips were blue and she had stopped breathing. Narkau hadn't really believed the boy would shoot, but he did. He jerked his arm back letting go of his grip on the girl, she fell to the floor with a heavy thud.

"You damn fool." Naraku cradled his arm to his chest, blood seeping through the bullet wound. "you'll never make it out, and I'll have both you, and the girl, and the jewel."

"That's what you think." Inuyasha scooped the girl up, and tossed her over his shoulder, and running for the elevator door. Prying it open, he knew he couldn't go down, and the only way was up.

Making a jump for it he grabbed the cable nearly dropping the girl in the process. Soon he was faced with another problem. The elevator was going down, and would soon be on top of them. 'I'm a hanyou I can do this.' He prepped himself, and then he made a jump for the bottom of the elevator shaft, he landed not so gracefully, but landing none the less.

He checked the girl, she was cold, and her lips were still blue, he had to make it to the sewer just outside, but how the guards would be looking for him. "THINK DAMMIT" he yelled, and then it hit him. ' if I just go out the front, they wont be thinking I would make such an open get away'

He sprinted up the stairwell while holding the poor girl bridal style, when coming through he made a mad dash for the front doors. Nobody was there, and he just increased his speed. He had to make it through or over the fence, and over would be better. Using his strength he made a jump for it and was soaring over the fence. 'this is too easy, the bastard is letting me get away'

slowing down he came to the same alley he entered when finding the sewer. He had to check the girl, had to make sure she would make it. Her lips were still blue, and she was still cold, but he couldn't smell death on her, meaning she wasn't dead, but rather close to it.

Setting her down Inuyasha did the only thing he could think of...the kiss of life. Tilting her head back, and closing her nose he began to breath for her. Five puffs of air at a time, over and over. "come on, I know you are there, just take a breath." coaching the girl, willing her to breath, and finally she did.

She took a breath, and opened her eyes to slits, taking in her rescuer before she slipped into darkness once again.
