chapter 2
It all started with a Nameless Beauty
~~~^~~~^~~~Author’s Note: hello again. Thank you for the reviews. I’m trying to update as much as I can, but I do have other things to do. Updates won’t be VERY often, but I’ll do the best I can! Just for you guys! YAY! Well, you’d probably want to get back to the story so here it is…~~~^~~~^~~~
Last time:
…She jumped high in a tree and waited. Beneath her, clad in white, was the most beautiful being. He had deep amber eyes, a white tail, and a pair of very “tweakable” ears. She seemed to be heaven, or at least until he spoke, “Quit hiding, I know you’re there.”
~~~~~~~Chapter 2 (do you guys want a title next time?)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
… “Quit hiding, I know you’re there,” the figure said in a very cold and masculine voice. Kagome decided it was no point in hiding if he knew about her, so she descended down from her high perch and landed with one knee on the floor. The amber-eyed creature watched as this goddess came down from the sky. She truly was beautiful. He never really took into interest people around him, but this young inu-hanyou seemed to spike his attention. She was dressed in different clothes than any other in this era, and had the most piercing blue eyes. He thought that nothing could possibly make this girl more appealing.
But he was proven wrong when she spoke, “What do you want? And why are you hear?” Her voice rung in his ears, her voice was soothing and it made him want to crawl up to her and be caressed. He quickly recomposed himself and replied, “My name is Youko Kurama, and my business is my own. You, woman, have no right to question me. Besides, these lands are not yours.”
Kagome’s aura flared at the term ‘woman’. She hated it so. As her anger grew, so did her scent, alluring Youko closer and closer. Kagome backed up a step, for every step he took forward. “Ever heard of personal boundaries, fox?” she said and standing in a defensive position. ‘So, she wants to put up a fight. She should learn not to underestimate her opponent.’
Youko took the offensive and delivered kicks and punches, but not too fast. He didn’t want to harm her, he intended on claiming her as his. Kagome knew he was holding back, she despised it when people thought her as weak because she was female. She dug deep within herself and reached into her Miko powers.
With a sudden burst of energy, she took control of the fight. Kagome charged at Youko, but he suddenly disappeared. ‘Where did he go?’ She used her Miko powers once more and obliterated anything within a 10-foot radius. Luckily, Youko wasn’t too close; he did get a little hurt though. He fell from the tree he was hiding in, and landed perfectly. Kagome then gave a cocky smile, “The name is Kagome, not woman or wench or anything else you can think of. Do you think you can handle me now?” Kagome taunted him with her smile. Youko regained his composure and simply stared back. He used his youkai speed and was suddenly behind the hanyou. He held her arms down to her sides, and tightly held her in place. “Yes,” he replied with a husky voice. ‘How did he get behind me so fast? I should have been able to do something,’ mentally hitting herself on the head.
Youko bent his head down to her level and sniffed her hair, ‘she smells fantastic!’ “Don’t you dare touch me!” Kagome screamed, hurting her own ears at the same time. She stomped on his foot and elbowed him in the stomach, finally getting him to loosen his hold.
She slipped from his grasp and fled. She didn’t want to deal with a kitsune youkai when she had only been a hanyou for one night. She wasn’t experienced enough! As she ran, she stopped in her tracks. ‘The damn fox is following me! Well, I might as well fight; it’s the only thing I can do if he won’t let me be.’ Youko appeared in the clearing and saw her prepared for him. She seemed so innocent and pure, and he wanted her. He wanted her to be his mate.
“May I please have the honor of knowing your full name, Kagome?” Youko inquired.
After a pause she replied, “Higurashi”.
“Kagome Higurashi,” he repeated, “You better get ready.”
He ran towards her full speed and was just about to reach her, until he flipped above her head and landed behind her once more. He reached his two hands above her head and tweaked her raven ears, deliberately disobeying her previous order. “Ah!” Kagome shrieked, and leapt away. “What? Scared now?” Youko said with a smirk. Kagome was just surprised to feel his hands on her ears; she never realized how sensitive those things on her head were. “Scared of you? Don’t make me laugh!” she said, trying to keep up the act making him believe that she was an expert at this. Although, it didn’t seem to work since he began to advance on her.
Just as he was about arms reach away he stopped. “You, Kagome Higurashi, are mine.” Kagome stared wide-eyed at this demon and just stood there. It took a while for Kagome to digest what she just heard. “WHAT?! Do you think I’m some sort of property that you can just claim and own? I don’t think so, fox!” And with that she summoned her Miko energy and blasted him straight into a tree knocking him out. “Hmph! That should teach him a lesson,” Kagome said to no one in particular. She quickly gathered up her belongings and left to Kaede’s.

It was morning and Kagome felt refreshed. Inuyasha wasn’t any where near the village where Kaede lived so she was free from insults. The conversation with Kaede last night wasn’t what she expected but it was better than nothing. Kaede said that she had never heard of the flower before and that she would go to a friend in the next village to see if he knew anything. Until then, Kagome was supposed to wait. She was pretty bored the entire day, having nothing to do, but help local villagers who still recognized her as the reincarnated Kikyo.
One particular demon fox kept watch over her, watching her gentleness with everyone in the village. He tried to forget her last night, but she continued to haunt him, in the day and in his sleep. He finally gave in and retraced his steps to find her scent. He then came upon the small village where she stayed. He liked watching her. It gave him an exhilarating feeling of a predator watching its prey. That is until something or someone disturbs your peace of mind.
