Frightful Flight

"You stay quiet and give me the woman." said the tall brut like man who had brown shoulder length hair and big biceps. "NO, she stays with me or I go with her." said Inuyasha with a fierce growl. He didn't know why he felt he had to protect this bitch but in truth he didn't care. "Fine move the two of you to the front." ordered the burly man.

As they moved Inuyasha spun around and.........

Chapter Two

As they moved Inuyasha spun around and tried to grab the gun. A shot went off and everyone screamed. Inuyasha had been pulled away by Kagome for she saw the man take off the safety. The second the shot sounded Inuyasha was up from the floor where Kagome had pulled him. He kicked the man in the jaw and snatched his gun but froze when he heard a scream from behind him. Whirling to see where the scream had come from a horrifying sight came into view. Kagome was being held by another man with a gun to her head. The guy looked similar to the one on the floor knocked out. "PUT THE GUN DOWN!" bellowed the fierce man. Kagome tried to say something but the bastard held her tighter around the neck making it difficult to breathe. "Let her go or I shoot him." ordered Inuyasha turning the gun on the man who was still unconscious. The man barely loosened his grip on the struggling woman in his grasp. She wheezed out and whimpered slightly. The fear in her eyes betrayed the calm look on her face.

Kagome was trying to be brave but her innerturmoil raced through her eyes. Closely Kagome watched as Inuyasha pulled back the safety. She tried to wriggle free but that only earned her a stronger grip. As Inuyasha looked for someway of getting her free she saw her chance when the guy loosened his grip in surprise as a man yelled out something she couldn't hear. Twisting his wrist Kagome snagged the gun and ran behind Inuyasha. The man's face writhered in pain as he rubbed his sore abused wrist. Gripping the gun tightly as if it were her lifeline Kagome stayed silent, not sure what to do next. Something brushed her foot and the next thing she knew, Kagome was on her back and the once unconscious man sneered at her grabbing her wrist and twisting it, in such away, it broken. The pain wasn't immediate, but the second the man took the weapon from her, her hand tried to reflex and pain shot through her.

Inuyasha felt the warmth of the female who was hidden behind him leave and then her high pitched scream rattled in his ears. Turning around faster than, what seemed, humanly possible, Inuyasha belted the male, who had his back turned to him, on the back of his head with the gun, in his hand. The other man latched on to his back as he bent over to help up the crying and whimpering woman he hardly knew. He used all his weight to throw the man off his back and soothe the weeping Kagome. After the man flew forward he ended up hitting his head on the arm of an empty seat and joined his partner in darkness. Looking around Inuyasha noticed people crying and others shaking. Many sat there in a kind of dazed shocked state. Some people rose from their seats trying to help others. A man a few inches shorter than Inuyasha, with black hair in a short ponytail at the nap of his neck, and violet eyes walked over to the men. "You knocked them out. I think we should tie them up if handcuffs aren't available." he deduced. "My name's Miroku Houshi. And what you did was very brave." with that the man went to the pilots quarters.

Inuyasha sat Kagome down and he tried to touch her wrist. With the slightest pressure she hissed in pain and smacked the offending hand away. "Kagome if I don't look at it then how am I supposed to help you?" he asked her. She agreed with much reluctance and let him tend to her best he could. "It's broken but I assume you can tell with the pain and all. I'll go make sure the terrorist are tied up tight and then find something to set it with." she gave a shaky nod and he took off in the direction a few men had taken the murderous duo.

Kagome sat thinking in a more stable mind set. 'Oh my Kami. I could have died like that poor woman. She didn't do anything and the man shot her. How could someone do that? What if Inuyasha hadn't been here? Would I still be alive? Inuyasha. He stayed by me. He didn't even hesitate when the man threatened him to be quiet. He doesn't even know me and he risked his life for me. For me. Kami I wish I was home.' Kagome was brought out of her reverie by Inuyasha who had returned with an old woman. "Hello Miss. I'm Kaeda. I'm a nurse and I think I'll be able to set that wrist of yours if your still." came the voice of the old woman with long grey hair and a pirate eye patch over one eye. With a simple nod from Kagome, Kaeda set to work. A few minutes later her arm was bandaged and set and the woman went back to coach.

"How long 'til we land Inuyasha?" Kagome spoke for the first time. "About an hour. I'm not sure I could go ask." He said ready to leave. Kagome's good hand shot out for him and shook her head still in a state of shock and fear. "Stay" that's all she said and he nodded. He knew she needed someone there because she'd never seen anyone die let alone been a target. He on the other hand was a different story.

*****As the plane got closer to it's destination Inuyasha played the events through his head. He remembered the first time that he had been in a situation similar to this one. He was at his dad's office. His father had been leader of a large corporation. Inuyasha had come to sit in on a meeting with his older brother. Their father had insisted saying "This buisness will be yours someday. You have to learn while your young".

Sometime during the meeting a man pulled out the gun and said if his father, Mr.Tashio, didn't sign over his company to someone named Naraku then he would kill him, then Inuyasha half brother, Sesshomaru, and finally Inuyasha. The other members of the meeting seemed to be in leagues with this Naraku guy and sat back.

When his father refuse he shot him and then turned his gun on Sesshomaru. But Sesshomaru was the smart one and pulled out his own gun. The other men at the table did the same. If Mr.Tashio hadn't had secret wires planted all over the room for security then, the Tashio brothers may have died along with their father.

Security burst into the room, apparently the wires had a 3 minute delay period and the guards hadn't come in time to save Mr.Tashio. Guns went off but Sesshomaru pulled Inuyasha under the table and shielded him. When it was all over only three security guards and the Tashio sons remained.*****

The plane landed a hour and a half later. The police arrested the men, later found out to be Bankotsu and Jakotsu, Japanese terrorists. The police had been after these men for months, after they blew up an entire city block in Kyoto. Inuyasha was walking off the plane with an arm around Kagome when a news reporter rushed at them, followed by many more. It took many of the airports security to get the two main victims and heros out of the mob of media. When they finally were safely inside a room in the airport a police officer entered.

"You two are very lucky to be alive. I don't know what you were thinking pulling a stunt like what I've been told you pulled. These two criminals are probably two of the most dangerous people you have ever met." the uptight policeman continued with his rant for quite sometime until taking their statements and allowed them to depart.

"Inuyasha, I wanted to thank you. You were very brave back there and you risked your life to save mine." Inuyasha 'Kehed' but a slight blush came to his cheeks which intensified to a deep crimson when Kagome kissed him on the cheek. Kagome headed to the convayer belt and picked up her luggage, but as she did so her wrist began to sting. Wincing she dropped her bag and held her wrist.

Suddenly her luggage was being lifted off the ground and she looked up into those gold eyes she now became fond of. "Keh. Stupid girl. Don't you know better than to use a broken wrist?" came the harsh tones of Inuyasha as he walked Kagome out to the front of the airport to hail a cab. Even though his voice was gruff his eyes were soft and inviting. "Thank you again. Maybe will see eachother again." Kagome climbed into the back seat of the taxi and waved to Inuyasha as the car pulled forward and Kagome was on her way home.

Once home Kagome tossed her keys to the side as Shippo, her kind neighbor's teenage son, came in with her luggage. "Do you need anything else Kagome?" he asked setting down the rather large and heavy bags. "No thanks Shippo. I owe you one." she said holding out ten bucks which he refused. "No thanks. It was my pleasure." he then took off to apartment 7B. "Such a nice kid" mused Kagome.

"Oh, Kagome, your home. Thank God your okay. I heard it all. It was on the news." Kagome jumped as a tall slender woman with raven hair a foot shorter than Kagome's entered the room. "I'm fine Sango. Everythings fine." She thought she had eased the other girls mind until. "YOUR WRIST DOESN'T LOOK FINE!" exclaimed the twenty-one year old. "It's fine. I had it looked at and the cast can come off in a couple of months." Kagome was trying to stop herself from reliving what had happened. "From now on I'm going with you for these visits home." said the older girl. "Sango if you do that who will watch the apartment. And besides I've done it tons of times on my own. One freak incident won't happen again. Just calm down." The other girl though relentless in nature realized how stressing it must have been for Kagome and dropped it for the better purpose of making tea.

Hours past and after a few cups of tea, a bath, and some television Kagome went to bed. She slid into her full sized bed and turned off her end table light. Hoping sleep would take her, Kagome closed her heavy lids. A dream enveloped the frazzeled twenty year old. She was back on the plane. This time though Kagome didn't have Inuyasha. The disgusting man shot the woman, he'd actually shot in real life, dead at Kagome's feet. Her blood staining the aisle and Kagome's shoes. She shrieked a normal reaction, but this time there was no Inuyasha holding her back. The man approached her and she screamed again, for no one was there to soothe her. All the passengers seemed to disappear and this time when the gun shot it was at her. Out of no where a woman's voice reached her. It sounded like Sango. "Wake up Kagome." there it was again. Then something cold hit her and Kagome shot upright in bed.

"What?" she shouted. "You were dreaming. I heard you screaming from my room. Are you okay. It was just a nightmare." Sango tried to soothe her. Kagome just sat shaking and Sango thought it was from the water she had thrown on her to wake her. When Kagome didn't say anything she sighed. She knew her friend was suffering the after affects of the terrorist act mentally. 'I wish I could help you Kagome. Take away your pain.' Sango didn't voice her thoughts unsure of how Kagome would react.

Eventually she spoke. "Sango it was horrible. They killed someone and I saw it. They attacked me and held a gun to my head. If it weren't for Inuyasha I'd be dead right now. It was horrible. People were crying and shaking and all I could think is 'Am I going to die?'. When Inuyasha risked his life to save mine I couldn't believe it. How did he stay so calm?" Sango did her best to soothe Kagome, but she had no way of understand the torture she was going through. She just hoped things would get better soon.
