Chapter 2

Not Always What They Seem

When Inutaisho arrived the Lady Tikya was already engrossed in battle with several demon raiders and protecting two small children behind her huddling their bloody bodies together. The blood was not all theirs, only a small amount was. Before he helped Tikya he scooped the children up and leapt over a burning hut to where a bunch of humans were now gathered by his guards the demon attackers bodies all around among the corpses of the humans. He placed the children down and drew Tetsiaga.
Tikya jumped back her arms outstretched on either side of her as she avoided a blow to the stomach. She was careless and received a sword through her right shoulder from another raider causing her to cry out. The sword was withdrawn and she swung around taking off the head of her attacker in one clean sweep of her sword. Giving off a loud warning growl she turned to the others her huge sword pulsing. Her sword had changed from a katana to a large curved sword.

Tikya’s eyes had bled crimson red now as she stood growling low almost snarling as she bared her fangs to them and stood in stance. Inutaisho landed perfectly next to her his sword out and pulsing with power like Tikya’s. Fear drowned out all other emotions in the raider’s eyes as they looked on at the two dog demons, one a Lord of the West and one a Lady and daughter of the War Lord Hikori.
When the raiders started to run away Tikya leapt clear over them and brought her right hand back holding her two fingers up the others to her palm and summoned her blue demon whip. She cracked it across three heads making them explode and their bodies turn to dust. She then sheathed her sword and stepped towards the rest. Going onto her tip toes she began to spin slowly her hand over her head her left at her side. As she moved faster she moved the whip out farther ripping the demons to shreds. She was going so fast that her body looked like a pillar under a blue glow.
When she stopped the wind picked up eerily taking the demon dust into its streams and into nothingness.

“I would rather we get to the Palace tonight Lord Inutaisho instead of making camp tonight. And to travel at such a slow pace is annoying me. Forgive me if I seem rude.” She informed him placing a hand on her wound then drew it away to examine the blood amount. It was already healing.
“If it suits you Lady Tikya we will ride quickly back to the Palace tonight then. There is no need to make camp. I only suggested it because you are a Lady.” The Western Lord told her looking at her profile.
“I am more then a Lady, Milord.” She said a bit angrily. “I’m not some high bitch who tries to please every male that she comes into contact with. I am my own person. You will soon come to find how different I am from most high born women.”
“You are very interesting for a female Tikya.” He said before racing off with his horse. Tikya followed him quickly catching up with him so she was at his side.
“You don’t know the half of it yet Milord.” She said loud enough for him to hear over the wind and horses hooves in their ears.

Dawn was approaching and so was the Palace. It was in view the sun rising behind them as they rode towards the Palace, the mountains in the distance. The wind was strong this morning but not hard. The wind lifted Tikya’s hair as she rode next to Inutaisho with wisps of his silvery white hair whipping in the wind as well. Their clothes were blown against their bodies slightly as they crossed the threshold past the gates. When they came to a stop servants took the rains and Inutaisho was there to help Tikya dismount. As she dismounted Tikya took his hand gently and hopped down. Her things were taken off the horse and hurried into the palace and her horse to the stables with the others. From the open Palace doors a woman came with a small white haired child in red running in front of her. The woman had long straight black hair that seemed to touch the ground and brown eyes with olive skin while she wore a blue top with red kimono bottom and a pink robe over that. Tikya noticed she was human as well. The Lady of the West was human. Looking closer at the child she noted it was a boy and the little white ears made him look all that more innocent. His golden eyes were his fathers and his hair to. His darker skin was his mothers. The Hanyou child was shy and adorable.

He hugged his father’s leg while he peeked out from behind it at the strange woman.
“Inuyasha, this is Lady Tikya. She won’t hurt you, she’s a friend.” Inutaisho informed the child placing a hand on his head while watching him. The human woman came to stand beside the demon Lord her eyes staying on Tikya. The woman was amazingly beautiful and Tikya could sense she had a good heart and soul. Looking down at Inuyasha Tikya crouched slowly and extended her hand to him slowly as not to frighten him and smiled.
“Hello, little Lord Inuyasha.”
Inuyasha glanced at his parents then stepped forward shyly and took her hand slowly giving it a quick shake before running to his mother and hiding in her robe slightly. This made all three chuckle lightly.
