SEVEN SINS --- "Afraid to be Alone"

A bright new morning arose, Kikyou drank in the warm smell of the new sun and the bright sky. She had managed to crawl to the edge of her door, leaning against the strong frame, gazing out into the distant forest. She thought about the previous day, and wondered why it had even happened. She was a shinto priestess in training, and she should've been strong enough to withhold. But something new was weakening her, it was a force that she couldn't begin to understand, a force that wasn't recognizeable by her inexperienced heart. It was a force that she couldn't stop. And how her dreams led her to wander. It was him, always, the only one that had ever cared. And through his arrogant, petty outer shell... was a soft core, and it only could long for Kikyou. "InuYasha..." she sighed, "...what is this I feel? It's as if I... and becoming weak by the mere thought... of you." she sighed, looking out into the trees.
InuYasha could see the outline of her by the door, the bamboo covering swayed a bit in the morning sunrise, making Kikyou look so beautiful, so bright. They were the colors to match her heart, her spirit shone through her eyes, in a bright brown and red flame. He ventured closer, standing behind the trees, he was still at least 20 feet from her, but he could smell her beautiful aroma from there. The way the bellflowers mixed with the jasmine and vanilla made his senses scramble. "Kikyou... what is this?" he asked to no one in particular, but everything in general. "Why do I feel this way?" he asked himself. He stood still a moment to take in the feelings. His ears and lips tingled, his heart beat rapidly, his breath came in short. And his hands trembled when he saw her. He swallowed the liquid forming in his mouth, trying not to drool. But he still couldn't turn away, no matter what the reaction.
"InuYasha..." she whispered. "I wish you were here... with me." she sighed, closing her eyes and letting the morning sun warm her face. A slight wind came up and wrapped its long wisps around her, "I am here Kikyou." it whispered, embracing her tightly. The wind licked at her and she shivered, it drew across her mouth and she closed her lips into the air. She realized that she was being foolish, he was not there, and he may never be. She turned her head to the side, and saw him. "Inu..." she started, trying to get up. He put a hand on her shoulder, "No Kikyou. Stay, you're still tired... here let me..." he said, sweeping her up into his arms. He went out into the forest, and into a clearing by the river. "You must get bored being shut up in that house." he said, his arrogant tone starting to show in his voice. He wasn't ready to admit it yet? But he still found it hard to hold back. "Kikyou can we talk?" he said, in a low voice, the trace of anger was gone. Kikyou looked up at him and nodded, a smile pulled at the sides of her lips.
InuYasha sat down against a tree, pulling Kikyou gently into his lap. He held his arms around her, his fingers lacing in her hair and her kimono. He leaned his head back against the tree and sighed. "What's wrong InuYasha? Surely a hanyou as strong as yourself isnt..." he silenced her, putting two clawed fingers to her lips. "No, a hanyou like me... is always alone. All hanyou are outcast by both sides of their blood, even their own family. There wasn't a place for me, so I had to make one. I had to be on my own, and I've been okay with that. Until now, Kikyou..." he sighed. Looking down into her deep brown eyes. "I'm afraid... afraid to be alone." he said, and Kikyou could tell the truth in him, there was a tone of fright in his voice, and she could see flecks of it in his eyes. "Kikyou... when I met you, the whole world I created collapsed, and I thought... maybe I would stay in this village. Kikyou... everytime I see you I just get this feeling... like that's where I belong." he finished, and looked down at her peaceful face.
"InuYasha... I would wish this for you, I want you to be happy. But, if my master found out that you were..." she couldn't bring herself to imagine the consequences of that action. But thought of a new strategy. "But I want to be with you InuYasha... I..." she couldn't understand how to say it, she didn't know what to feel. InuYasha was on a ledge, and it was time to make a move, would he run from the danger, or jump out. "Kikyou I'm out on a ledge here, and everytime I see you I just can't take my eyes off you. You're so beautiful, and so kind. I just feel like..." he paused, and took a deep breath. His golden eyes reflected her, and he drew closer, Kikyou leaned up to him, wrapping her arms around his neck, and they both knew it was right. There was nothing wrong about it. Lips met gently in the middle, and then they were torn, Kikyou's lips parted and InuYasha entered it with his tongue, Kikyou touched her toungue to his, and he caressed the sensitive flesh in her mouth. He withdrew his embrace, lacing his fingers in her hair. "Kikyou... I love you. With my whole heart, and all that I am."
Kikyou wasn't surprised, she didn't care about her master or the village. It was just her and InuYasha. She was so relieved to have an explination to her feelings, she kissed him softly again and let her fingers wander up to his white inu-ears. She rubbed them gently with her fingers and then withdrew. She gazed into his deep golden eyes, "I love you too InuYasha, and that... is all I've ever wanted." she smiled and hugged him, leaning her head against his chest, so strong and hard, and warm. "Kikyou, I want to be with you always. No matter what happens. I don't care what your village says, I don't care what your master's wishes are. You are mine, and I won't let anyone hurt you. Ever." Kikyou smiled and looked up at him, "I love you InuYasha." He took this as a yes, a sign of mutuality. And he leaned down and kissed her passionately once more.

CHAPTER INSPIRATION: "Afraid to be Alone" -- (Unreleased Song) Staind
I force myself through another day
Can't explain the way today just fell apart like everything
Right in my face
And I try to be the one
I can't accept this all because of you
I've had to walk away
From everything
I'm afraid to be alone
Afraid you'll leave me when I'm gone
I'm afraid to come back home
Another sleepless night again
Hotel rooms my only friend
And friends like that just don't add up
To anything
And I try so hard to be everything
That I should never take away from you again
'Cause I heard ya say
I'm afraid to be alone
Afraid you'll leave me when I'm gone
I'm afraid to come back home
I cannot forget
I live with regret
I cannot forget
I live with...
I'll live through this
I can't see through this
I can't do this anymore
I'm afraid to be alone
Afraid you'll leave me when I'm gone
I'm afraid to come back home
Afraid you'll leave me when I'm gone
I just wish I was back home
