Caught!

Hmm, I must say I’m impressed. I just put it up a day ago and already I had 105 hits and 4 reviews? Wow… That’s pretty good! Thanks to all of you who reviewed. I’ll try to pay back the favor by giving you another chapter! Again, I ask you be patient with me and my slowness…but for now, story time, children!

Caught!…. Chapter 2 of Bad Medicine

It was laid. Now, all he had to do was wait. But, waiting was the WORST thing he could not do. He wandered away from the field he had laid the magic attraction trap in and scouted the area but was always drawn to the field again.

“Damn, this is impossible! What was Jideonu thinking?” Sesshoumaru considered. “What was I thinking?” Sesshoumaru shook his head and was getting ready to leave the spot, but he heard a distinct sound of something heavy hitting the ground and a furious voice. He hopped a few branches to a small clearing and watched.

“Sit, sit, SIT!” yelled Kagome. His hanyou of a half-brother sank deeper and deeper into the moist soil. He watched silently, moving his head down at certain notches as his brother sank deeper. He spotted the female and watched her china-like face boil with anger.

“What the hell did I do, woman?!” yelled Inuyasha. So, the hanyou had gotten himself in trouble again?

“Hmm, lemme guess…” The girl seemed to really consider for a moment, yelled ‘sit’ again and ground her foot into the earth. “Oh yeah, skulking around the woods with you’re freaking dead…dead…THING! That freaking earthy pothead with the damn crazy idea of sinking into hell with you! But, you’d think you’d be smart enough to NOT go near her! But, no, again I am WRONG! You know Inuyasha, I’ll admit I’m wrong about a lot of things!” Ah, so the hanyou had gotten himself caught again.

“Like?” said Inuyasha, drumming his fingers on the ground. ‘Sarcastic little fool,’ thought Sesshoumaru.

“Like, thinking you could ever forget her and love me!” she shouted. Inuyasha seemed to freeze at these words and looked at her. Sesshoumaru smirked. His half-brother was so stupid.

“Love you?” repeated Inuyasha. ‘Oblivious to everything but his own needs,’ thought Sesshoumaru.

Kagome wiped at her eyes furiously and her sleeve looked a bit sodden. Was the human crying?

“D-did I stutter, you big tw-twit?” said Kagome. “Ugh, forget it! Why do I waste my tears on you?” Kagome stormed off. Inuyasha just lay there, like an idiot, and stared after her.

“Love you?” he whispered. He didn’t give chase this time. He just stared at the ground as he repeated her words.

Sesshoumaru turned his eyes away from the hanyou and watched as the girl stormed on forward, towards…towards… Sesshoumaru’s eyes snapped open. The trap!

“Stupid jerk…” Kagome just stomped forward, never really realizing where she was going. Then, she stopped and looked up, hearing an odd whistling sound in her ears. She rubbed at her ear a little but she still heard the odd whistling. She walked on and the whistling seemed to get louder, but it didn’t really hurt her ears.

“Hello?” she called into the darkness. She continued on and stopped at a clearing bathed in moonlight. Suddenly, a mirror appeared in front of her and an odd light flashed. Kagome shielded her eyes and turned, waiting for a blow of some sort but nothing happened. She turned back and her reflection just stared back at her.

She tapped the mirror softly and stood back. But, only her startled reflection stared at her. Then, the reflection started to swirl a bit and a new person peered at her. This was a tall, young woman with a high collared dark blue kimono on. But, it really wasn’t a kimono. It was… different. The skirt was flared out more and the legs could be seen. She wore a pair of fine satin slippers, made for fighting… Two long slits cut into the sides of the kimono for leg-movement it seemed… Then, it tightened around the waist and around the stomach and chest and ended with white, quarter-baggy sleeves with cuffs on the mid-forearm. Her hair was raven black with blue shimmers and in a long, high ponytail and bangs lose from the forehead. Kagome gasped. The face…was her own! Her face was soft looking and she thought she never looked prettier. No blemishes, only soft, smooth looking skin. Her lips were soft and puffy looking, with light, pink color on them and her eye-lids were dabbed with light blue eye shadow. She hated to say it, but she wanted the mirror reflection rather than her own look.

The reflection smiled and bowed. “Your wish is my command.” Kagome gasped as the reflection started to come out of the mirror and she felt an out of body experience as her outside was mingled with the mirror image and then traded places. She looked in the mirror and saw her old self. Her old self-image cleared with a friendly wave of the hand and a smile and was replaced with the previous mirror image of the girl with the beautiful dress and hair and face.

“Wow,” was all she could say. She touched her lips lightly and then her face and then the satin dress. “Wow.”

“So do you like it?” Kagome gasped and turned around to face a quiet Sesshoumaru.

“Don’t hurt me!” she said. He caught her leg in mid-air and Kagome gasped. When had she tried to kick him?

He lowered her leg carefully and looked at her. ‘Wow,’ was all Sesshoumaru could think. “Do you like it?” he asked her again.

She looked at herself again, forgetting her fear. “Wh-what did you do?”

“I did nothing. You did. All I did was put the mirror here,” he replied matter-of-factly.

“Then…how did I?” she asked hesitantly. She looked him right in the eye with a look of wonder on her face. Something stirred in Sesshoumaru’s stomach. He cleared his thoughts and began to explain.

“This mirror was meant to attract a dreamer. The dreamer would then look into the mirror and see what they wanted to be. You, in this case, wanted to be more beautiful and obviously stronger and faster. Almost, inhuman.” He paused and waited for that to register on her face.

“So…you’re saying… I looked at myself and I thought of what I wanted to look like? And be?” She put her hand under her chin and rested her open jaw on it. “Wow.”

“Of course, the mirror was actually placed her for a strong youkai such as myself and a big dreamer…” He glanced at her out of the corner of his eye and smirked inwardly to himself. She was glaring.

“So, are you going to keep the catch?” she half-asked, half-hoped.

“If its willing to try to stay…?” he half-asked, half-hoped.

She smirked. “I think it might…for a test-drive.”

“Would it be able to withstand me?” he asked, delving deeper.

“I think it can take the challenge,” said Kagome. She smiled. Why did she feel so confident?

He held his chin high to disguise his look of triumph. ‘What’s a ‘test-drive’?’ he thought. But, frankly, he didn’t care. This might be interesting. She could teach him her world and he could teach her his. Hopefully she wouldn’t be scared away by his temper. What will Jideonu say when he brings home this human? Well, technically she wasn’t really human NOW, but still….Was he hoping too much? Was he being to soft? Maybe he would resume his pervious self…Hmm…
