Deal With the Demon Lord

Ch. 2

“What do you mean by that, Sesshoumaru?” Inuyasha glared at his elder brother angrily, wondering what was going on. Was Sesshoumaru wanting to share Kagome?? Why? And How? And what would Kagome say if she knew what the demon lord said?

And how would she react if she knew the hanyou was considering it?

Inuyasha loved Kagome. He couldn’t tell her, though; he had never been good with words. He hadn’t even been able to tell Kikyou he loved her, and had stuttered like a madman when he tried. But then, she had never told him she loved him, either. They just kissed a few times and accepted it. A day or two later, they had been betrayed by Naraku. He had been upset, and thought he would never love anyone again.

Then Kagome arrived. She was smart, proud, strong, brave, and beautiful. Her innocence and warmth made her more lovely than Kikyou, although he would never tell her that. Kikyou was cold and pale, and quiet. She would never cry or scream at him, she would never slap a monk for touching her, or face off against someone she feared merely for an insult against a person’s mother. Especially if they were a demon. But Kagome had. She cried when she feared death at Sesshoumaru’s hands, and when she caught him with Kikyou. She screamed anytime he did or said something rude or insulting. She had hit Miroku a few times for wrong touches and words. And she had intended to fight Sesshoumaru alone when he had used the Nothing-Woman to imitate Inuyasha’s mother and use his feelings to find Tetsusaiga.

‘Why does he want to mate with a human, and share her with me, when he fights us at every chance he gets?’ Then it hit him. ‘Fights us, but never kills us. Even when I passed out, he never attacked Kagome or the others. Even when his hand was in my chest, he never released the poison. Could it be he WASN’T trying to kill me?’ Inuyasha was brought from mus musings when said youkai spoke again.

“You mean you do not desire the young miko? Very well, then, return to your camp, and I shall consider sending her to you when I am finished making her mine. Although I might want to keep my mate with me…” Inuyasha growled at the thoughtful look on Sesshoumaru’s normally blank face, causing one of the said Taiyoukai’s eyebrows to rise.

“So, you do wish to share her, little brother?” He smirked again, and Inuyasha asked again what he meant. Sesshoumaru almost sighed. He had first been interested in the young miko when she drew Tetsusaiga, showing her strength, when she told his half-brother to draw that same sword simply to injure Sesshoumaru’s pride, showing her intelligence. Then, he had respected her at their second meeting for her loyalty and honor by not abandoning Inuyasha and staying to help fight, then her power and pride when she began to fire her arrows at him, which had actually made him worried she would defeat him. After hearihat hat she had done to Naraku, he had been beyond interested. She had almost completely destroyed him, leaving nothing but his head, when no one else could.

And now she was fertile and ready for mating, and his half-demon brother stood between him and the one female that had truly interested him. When Sesshoumaru had first noticed the hanyou’s closeness to the miko, he had been upset, then remembered an old tradition that usually only happened in packs where females were limited.

“Some packs, when there aren’t enough females, will share their mates in order to procreate. I wish to claim the miko, as do you. And so, I propose a compromise. She will be both our mates. And ours alone. We both will make the mark on her, and we will both mate with her. She will bear us both pups, and will be treated with much more respect than any other bitch would. Were you to claim her, she would be hunted down by the demons, for being with a half-breed. Were she to mate with me, then the humans would attack her as they did your mother. In this way, she will be safe. Do you accept, or should I just claim her and think of her safety later?”

Inuyasha growled. He didn’t know what to think. He didn’t like the idea of sharing Kagome with his brother, but Sesshoumaru had a point. She would be safer. He was frightened to think that he was actually considering this, but went ahead and asked anyway.

“How?” When he saw Sesshoumaru’s smirk and crossed arms, Inuyasha began to worry. He could smell that the left arm was his own, and knew that his half-brother had finally regenerated his arm. ‘No wonder, it’s been a couple of years since I chopped it off.’

“Simple,” Sesshoumaru brought Inuyasha to the present again. “We claim her at the same time. We mate with her at the same time. We mark her at the same time.” Inuyasha thought about this, scared to find himself reasoning with why he SHOULD share Kagome with his brother. ‘He never really tried to kill us, otherwise we’d be dead. She’d have more protection. It’s better than that lecherous monk or the wimpy wolf claiming her………’ Then he realized something. ‘At the same time? But that would mean………’ He turned wide eyes up to his elder sibling, and Sesshoumaru nodded in affirmation to the hanyou’s thought.

“Precisely. But, now we come to the question of who will be first?” Sesshoumaru raised an eyebrow at him, and Inuyasha, to his horror, found himself answering.

“I will. I love her, I’ve known her longer, and she seems to care for me. You might scare her at first, so we have to make sure she doesn’t know it’s you until we know she won’t care.” Sesshoumaru seemed to accept this, for he nodded to his younger brother.

“Very well. Then, before she returns to her camp, I suggest we go and claim our new mate.” Neither the demon or half-demon could hold back the growls that spilled from their lips at the thought of their mating with Kagome. And both brothers knew that the other was harder than the rocks by the spring when they arrived to a lone Kagome, naked and relaxing in the water.

True to his word, Inuyasha went first.
