never again
Miroku ran as fast as his legs would carry him. He constantly shook his head trying to rid himself of the image he had just beheld. He had seen the whole thing and heard the moans. “How could inuyasha have betrayed me like this? I should have never given him my heart.” Miroku thought to himself. He felt the tears running down his face but made no attempt to wipe them away. All he could here was the pounding of his feet against the dirt. The branches whipped at him but he could no longer feel their effects.
An idea rose in his head and inescapable path. He had to run and never return he would never set eyes on these people ever again. He wanted to scream out at the pain his ripped heart was feeling but if he did inuyasha would be able to follow him. Soon it would be sunrise he had to get far enough away so he could not be tracked by scent. And so he did the only thing he could, he kept running.

Kanna held up her mirror for naraku’s eyes. He could see the hoshi running crying. A smirk tinged his face. “So he is alone now. Perfect.” He chuckled the evil chuckle that always arose in his throat when a plot formed in his mind.
“Yes, that is the way it appears. What is it you plan to do with him?” kanna asked quietly. Naraku reached within his kimono and pulled out the sacred jewel which began to glow.
“You will find out soon enough kanna .For now let us send someone to greet him shall we.” Naraku separated a piece of himself and created yet another incarnation.

It was daybreak by the time miroku collapsed unable to continue on. He wept into the grass below him. Just ahead of him lay a stream clear and merrily flowing. He wondered how the world d cod continue when something like this had happened. He partially expected the clouds to turn black and they themselves weep for him. He heard soft footsteps come from beside him. He did not bother to look up.
“Excuse me but why are you crying?” It was a man’s voice yet it lilted like an afternoon breeze. Miroku turned his head and found himself staring at a handsome man. He wore and aqua kimono and black hakama his kimono embroidered with what seemed to be feathers. His eyes were violet and his face was smooth. His hair that was black as a moonless night hung to his knees even with it pulled into one large ropey tail at his crown. The man crouched down and laid a hand on miroku’s shoulder. “What could have caused you such pain?”
“It’s nothing.” Miroku rose to sit cross legged and wiped his eyes clear.
“Why is it that I do not believe you?” The man smiled warmly at miroku. “Come now I only wish to help.” He said in a comforting tone.
“Who are you and why is it that you seem so interested in me?” miroku questioned in a suspicious tone.
“Oh how rude of me I have forgotten to give you a name, call me musashi. I happened to be passing bye and heard your weeping. Such a handsome face should not be burdened with tears.” Musashi said.
“What ever the case it is in the past now.” Miroku straitened. His body was covered in small scratches.
“Come with me. I can take you to the shrine to get those healed.” Musashi reached out a hand.
“These are nothing.” Miroku replied somewhat short tempered. Musashi shrugged.
“Well if you don’t want to go to the shrine fine but you are exhausted. I insist on making camp and allowing you to rest.” He said. Miroku knew it was futile to argue but he tried any way.
“I mustn’t impose upon you any…”Musahi pursed his lips with a finger.
“No arguments Mr. monk I would not be able to live with my self if I left you here or to wander in such a state alone.” Mushashi’s tone showed it was the end of the conversation.
“Its miroku” He said simply with a smile.
“Well miroku lie down and rest.” Musashi removed his outer kimono top and folded it. Laying it on the ground he made a pillow and gently laid miroku atop it.
“Thank you for your kindness.” Miroku said drearily.
“That is not necessary what is necessary is for you to get some rest.” Musashi said. Miroku resigned himself and allowed his eyes to close washing him into unconsciousness.

Naraku watched through his puppets eyes from its hiding place in the woods as miroku fell asleep. His plan was close to being fulfilled. And his incarnation the cleverest of its kind so successfully fooling the hoshi. It was only a matter of time before his long awaited dream became reality.

“Miroku, miroku?” musahi’s voice called miroku from the void and back into reality. “Wake up you didn’t die on me did you?” He questioned with a raised eyebrow.
Miroku’s eyes fluttered open but clamped shut as they were assailed by the light of a noon sun. “Too late I saw that your awake come on get up.” Miroku sat up rubbing his head.
“How long have I been out?” He asked looking around.
“About a day and a half but look at this,” Musashi shoved a flyer into his hands. Upon it was written an add.

“Wow. Do you know where this lord lives?” Miroku asked. Musashi took the flyer and looked over it again handing miroku some rice balls.
“Yeah it’s not far from here, And I here the lord is always very generous.”Musahi popped his own rice ball into his mouth. “What do you say we go?” He said his words muffled behind bits of food.
“Sounds like fun I could use a few good rounds with a demon right now.” Miroku pushed his rice balls quickly into his mouth and swallowed. “Let’s go.” They rose and made their way to the castle.
