Chapter 2
“Mom! Grandpa! Souta! I’m home!!”
“Welcome home Kagome.”
“Hi sis.”
Kagome sat down beside her mother at the dinner table. “Sorry I’m late. I was working on a project for school at a friend’s.”
Her mother smiled. “That’s all right Kagome.”
They ate in silence for the most part until Kagome remembered something. “Mom, I’m going to the Feudal Era tomorrow.”
“Okay. I’ll set out an extra set of clothes on your bed and pack your bag for you.”
Kagome smiled. “Thanks mom!”

Evyn sighed as he headed up the stairs, towards Kagome’s home. In his pocket was a jar holding jewel shards that Kagome had forgotten in the dojo. His mother had told him not to touch any of the shards and keep the jar they were kept in safe at all times, until he gave them to Kagome.
“What is it with these shards?” Evyn pushed his hair out of his eyes and looked around. The place seemed deserted. He walked in a few paces when he noticed Kagome enter a hut by a large tree. He followed, only to find himself staring at a well.
“Kagome?!” He walked down the steps to stand in front of the well. He set his briefcase down beside it and peered into the darkness. “She went down there?” Evyn sighed again and jumped down the well.

Kaede opened her eyes as a group of villagers burst in carrying a young man, unconscious. There were small cuts on his body. He was topless, his shirt being uto cto cover a large cut made by a pair of claws. As far as Kaede could tell he was human but hair was the colour of spun gold.
“What happened?”
“We found him in the woods. He was wounded by a demon. He kept saying Lady Kagome’s name, said he needed to give something to her.”
“I see. I will care for him.”

…2 days later…
“Kaede, we’re back!”
“Kagome, Inu Yasha, Sango, Shippo. Welcome back. Did the search go well for ye?”
“We found two more shards.”
“And where is Miroku? Was he not with ye?”
Kagome blinked. “He was…”
Sango’s eyes narrowed. “He’s probably in the village. Let’s go find him before he does something stupid.”

Miroku was, at that moment, following a girl newly arrived to the village. She had long, golden hair and pale amethyst eyes. She carried a basket, half filled with herbs. One of the villagers he had pulled aside informed him that she was staying with Kaede and that she was indeed human.
Miroku followed her down a path that led to a small grove with a pond in it. Light filtered through the branches, falling on the girl. She was kneelling, carefully harvesting the herbs that had been planted there. The kimono she wore was of a shorter style, clinging to her butt. Miroku moved to stand a few feet from the girl, who was wholly absorbed in her task.
“You are beautiful.”
She looked up, startled. Her eyes widened, lips parted slightly. Miroku stared at those lips, entranced. “Ahh… Who are you?”
“I am Miroku, a monk.” He knelt in front of her. “You know… A girl like you shouldn’t wander alone. You could get hurt.”
The girl blushed lightly. “I… I think I can take care of myself.”
Miroku smiled and reached over to hold her hands in one of his. The other inched downwards. “My dear lady, would you do me the honour of bearing my child?”
"::WHAT?!::"

The girl stomped into Kaede’s house, extremely angry. She was speaking… well, yelling in another tongue.
"::THAT FUCKING PERVERTED BASTARD!! WHAT DID HE THINK HE WAS DOING?! I’M A GUY FOR GOD FUCKING SAKE!! I MEAN, HOW HARD IS IT TO NOTICE THAT I HAVE NO BLOODY BREASTS?!::"
“Calm down my child.”
“DON’T SAY CHILD!! THAT PSYCOTIC PERVERT WHO SAID HE WAS A MONK ASKED ME TO BEAR HIS CHILD! I’M NOT EVEN EQUIPPED FOR IT!!" The boy took a deep breathe and turned around. "I’m going to the hot springs Kaede.”
He walked out of the hut and Kaede sweatdropped “I’m sure Miroku meant ye no harm.”

They had found Miroku sitting by the lake, thinking. Sango frowned at his expression. “Miroku, is something wrong?”
Miroku looked up, startled. “No, I’m fine.”
“Are you sure?”
Miroku stood up and began walking away. “Thank you for your concern Sango, but I’m fine. I’m going to the hot springs.” Sango stared after him.
Kagome blinked. “That was odd…”
“It’s not like he’s gone and fallen in love, has he?”
Kagome glared. “INU YASHA!”
“Wha~t?”
Sango turned to her companions. “The villagers said that he was following someone who’d just arrived here and is staying with Lade Kaede.”
“Sango…”
Sango turned to the village. “Let’s go back to Lady Kaede.”
They reached Lady Kaede’s, and Kagome and Sango sat with Kaede while Inu Yasha stood in the doorway, watching the villagers pass by.
Kaede looked over the group. “Did ye not find Miroku?”
“We did find him. Kaede, the villagers were talking about someone who’s been staying with you…”
"Ah, ye mean Romikoto-san."
“WHAT?! Evyn Romikoto?!!”
Kaede nodded. “Yes, that’s him. He’s at the hot springs right now.”
No one noticed Sango relax slightly. “So’s Miroku.”
Kaede frowned. “I see… Inu Yasha, could ye take this to Evyn? He should have reached the hot springs by now.”
“Sure… what’s he look like?”
“The boy has gold spun hair and—”
Inu Yasha smirked, taking the clothes from Kaede. “Gold spun hair, huh? Sounds like he’s a hanyou. He’ll be easy to find.”
Inu Yasha left and Kagome turned to look at Kaede. “Those were the clothes Evyn was wearing when he came?”
“Yes.”
“He must have been on his way to school. I wonder why he stopped by…”

Mokusatsu: Well, this place is pretty empty. *tumbleweed rolls by* I wonder where all my muses went.
Man: *walks in* Oh, so you're writing again Mokusatsu-kun.
Mokusatsu: I had to ask... Everyone, this is Train Heartnet, from the manga Black Cat. If you'll excuse me, I have to kill myself over my physics lab... *mutters about the evils of physics and labs*
Train: *sighs as Mokusatsu leaves* Don't mind her, she's just starting university and she doesn't like doing labs. She'll be okay in 9 weeks or so.
