Deadly Secrets

Hey it’s me again, well this chapter will be much longer than the prologue. I don’t have anything to say except please review.

Chapter One: Secrets

Inuyasha stood up as he sheathed Tetsusaiga. He had just killed a demon that had stood in their way.
They continued walking, no one really talking. Not after what they had heard this morning.

~flashback~

Everyone ran into Kaede’s hut. They had just been informed that she was suffering from a severe illness.
They were informed correctly. Kaede was barely conscious, and she had purple shadows under her eyes, and was very pale.
Kagome ran over to her and kneeled next to her, and Sango followed her.
“Kaede, how long have you been sick?” Kagome asked worriedly.
“Only since this morning.” A girl walking into the hut said. “She just was like this when I came in. I don’t know how.”
Kaede made a sound.
“What?” Kagome leaned closer.
“It…was…Yoko. A demoness.” She whispered.
Kagome sat up. “A demoness?”
“Yes. Please…you must…find her…she knows the cure…but also…she will cause…destruction…if she…is not stopped. She wears…a gold locket…around her neck. Look for that”
Kagome nodded.

~end flashback~

So now they were looking, and having no luck. They didn’t know what she looked like, or anything about her except that her name was Yoko, and she wore a gold locket.
They continued walking, until Inuyasha stopped suddenly, sniffing the air.
“Blood.” He said before taking off. They all followed, naturally.
But what they came upon was completely unexpected.
It was a village, but it was massacred. Some huts burned, some crushed, but they were all destroyed. There were bloody ripped up bodies everywhere, and wer were also burnt.
“What…happened?” Kagome whispered.
They walked through, trying to find anything that would give them a hint, but there was nothing. Everything was destroyed. Except…
“Do you hear that?” Sango asked.
“I hear it.” Inuyasha said.
Kagome listened. It was someone, a woman, calling out for help.
They ran toward the sound, and it came from a crushed house. Inuyasha lifted up the large pieces of debris and revealed a woman, her dirty face streaked with tears, and her blue eyes creating more.
Sango helped the woman up.
“Thank you so much.” She said. “I think I am the only survivor. If you had not heard me, I would have died.”
“What happened here?” Miroku asked.
“A demoness attacked us. She went from house to house, asking if we knew where some person was, and when we didn’t know, she destroyed our village.”
“By any chance did this demoness wear a gold locket around her neck?” Sango asked.
“Actually, she did. She also had a beautiful kimono made from the most expensive silk. She had long white-silver hair, and blue eyes. Also a pink stripe on each cheek, and each wrist.”
Their eyes widened at her description.
“Who was she looking for?” Inuyasha asked.
“Some hanyou named Inuyasha, and three humans named Kagome, Sango, and Miroku. Plus a little fox demon.” Then her eyes widened. “That’s you isn’t it!”
Inuyasha nodded. “Did she say what she wanted?”
“Shikon Shards.”
They continued on after helping the woman bury her dead fellow villagers, and bringing her to a neighboring village.
“Inuyasha, doesn’t she sound like the demon we fought a while ago, the one who wanted the shards.” Kagome asked.
Inuyasha nodded. “She does, but how could she be the same person? I killed her.”
“Oh yeah.”

Yoko walked through the trees, licking the blood from her claws.
“Weak humans. They are so pathetic.”
She thought of what she would do to Inuyasha and the humans next time she saw them.
“I may have lost the shards that time, but not this time. I will get them this time. This time Inuyasha shall be the one to die.”
She was so caught up in her thoughts that she did not notice a tree branch that she went by, and the corner of her sleeve was ripped off.
“Damn!” She sighed. “Oh well. I will get another one.”
Little did she know, she was being watched.

Kagura sat in a tree, watching Yoko walk by.
“Naraku, what is so special about her?”
Naraku spoke from his spot nd hnd her.
“I cannot tell you that. Besides, you do not need to know. You only need to do what I tell you to do.”

Kagome woke in the middle of the night, for no apparent reason. She just did.
‘Man, now I won’t be able to go back to sleep.’
She sighed and stood, intending to take a walk. Everything was very silent, and the only sound was the crackling fire.
‘creepy’
She walked through the dark trees. But she stopped when she saw a little shine on a branch ahead. She walked towards it and grabbed it.
‘Fabric?’
It was part of a kimono most likely. A very expensive kimono, with a very beautiful pattern.
‘Wait a minute…’
She ran back to the camp, and shook Inuyasha awake.
“What the hell?! What?!”
Kagome handed him the piece of fabric.
“This is the same scent I smelled in the village, and on Kaede this morning. I think we have our trail.” He said.
