The New Hanyou

A/N: Well, as promised, here's a nice long chapter.

Disclaimer: Sadly, I do not own the characters of Inuyasha, but I do own all the OCs in this fic.

Ch. 2

Lying on the floor was the egg she had just brought home, broken in two. She ran in just in time to see her mother being devoured by a huge youkai. The youkai then turned its three serpent-like heads on her father, who was standing over Mingan, its forked tail thrashed about, their eyes gleamed in fiery anger, fangs dripping in blood from the fresh meal.

"Okaa-san," she whispered.

"Sanura," her father called, trying to fight off the youkai, when one of its heads had just sunk its fangs into his arm, "take Mingan and get out of here. Do it NOW!" Sanura ran behind her father and picked up the crying child, narrowly missing a set of sharp fangs.

"What about you?"

"Don't worry t met me, just take him and run as fast as you can." Sanura obeyed her father's command. When she reached the door, she looked back to see how her father was faring against the youkai. She shielded Mingan's eyes as she watched the other two heads each grab a leg and rip her father apart.

"Iie, otou-san." She broke into a sprint as the youkai turn its attention to her and Mingan.

Sanura looked down at Mingan, "If I could be certain you'd be safe, I'd be able to fight off the youkai," she sighed, "but I can't risk you being hurt, you're all I have le-" she suddenly caught a scent. "Three ningen, two youkai, and a hanyou, if youkai are travelling with ningen and a hanyou, then they can't be all bad." She veered to the left a little towards the direaction of the scent.

"OW! What the hell is wrong with you, Kagome?" Inuyasha shouted when he'd run into Kagome, causing them both to fall, after she'd stopped so suddenly.

"I sense the power of the Shikon no kakera, and it's headed straight for us!" Hearing this, Sango and Miroku took their fighting stances, while Shippou jumped to, the now transformed, Kirara's back. Inuyasha jumped to his feel, pulling Kagome up with him, and pushing her behind him.

"Good, they've...oh shit," Sanura gasped while looking down a huge cliff, she quickly looked back, the youkai was advancing on them quickly. "Oh, please let them be near," she prayed, scouting the area, that's when she saw them; the hanyou, the two youkai, and the three ningen. Taking another look back before she bolted. She ran straight towards the group.

"It's started up again, this time even faster than before!" Kagome exclaimed.

"Which direction is it coming from, Kagome?" Inuyasha asked.

Kagome pointed in an upward angle. "From that cliff." The group looked in the direction she was pointing. Inuyasha was the first to see her. Blood, mixed with sweat and tears, dripped down her face. Her hair, normally beautiful and silky smooth, now, caked in blood and dirt. With the look of pure terror on her face. The child in her arms, appeared unharmed, but he could not be certain. 'She's so close, why couldn't I pick up on her scent? Even now, I can't smell her, why?' Inuyasha thought.

Seeing the youkai behind her, Sango shouted, "Inuyasha, we have to help her!"

"Hai."

Sanura kept running, her eyes transfixed on the group at the bottom of the cliff. She didn't notice the youkai's long snake-like tongue wrap around her ankle and trip her, causing her to roll into a tumble and fall off the cliff. She clung tightly to Mingan, turning so she wouldn't land on her back. When she was completely turned, she felt a sharp pain in her back as the youkai stabbed its forked tail into her back, causing her to lose her grip on Mingan. She reached out to grab him, but the youkai's tongue wrapped around his waist and pulled him up, out of her reach. she tuned over, still reaching out to Mingan, unable to accept the inevitable.

"Inuyasha, do something," Kagome commaned.

"Right, I'm on it," Inuyasha said as he ran off.

Tears poured down Sanura's face as she watched the youkai's middle head swallow her son whole. Just then, she felt two strong arms catch her, and carry her to the ground. It was then that she was hit with the realization of what had happened.

She clutched into the man's haori, and cried uncontrollably, "Iie, Mingan."

"Now, Sango," Inuyasha called when he landed.

"Right," Sango slung her giant boomerang at the youkai and took off its left head. "Got it." But then three more heads grew in its place. "WHAT!?"

Hearing the commotion, Sanura turned her head slightly, tears still streaming down her face, two ningen, a houshi and a taijiya, were fighting the youkai; the two youkai, a fire neko and a kitsune child, were standing off to the side with another ningen, dressed in strange garments. 'But where's the hanyou?" She looked up at the man carrying her. 'He's a...an inu hanyou.'

Suddenly she heard the houshi shout, "Look out, Sango!" And he removed the prayer beads from around his right hand, and a huge wind funnel erupted from it and began to pull everything towards it.

Sanura saw the youkai begin to lose its footing and get sucked into the void. "NO!" She cried, "You must not destroy its body!"

Inuyasha looked down at her, "Then what the hell do you expect us to do?"

"The only way to kill it without destroying the body, is by taking off the main head."

"And how do you propose we do that?"

"How the hell should I know,was was your baka friends that took off all the heads. It would've been easier then. 'Cause we would've only had to take out the middle head!"

"Wait, you said the middle head?" Sango asked running towards them.

A/N: well, that's it for that chapter, the next one won't be quite as long, but it'll still be pretty long, but I need one review to get it. R&R

"Yeah, fat lotta good it does us now though," Sanura snapped at her, "we don't know which it is."

Well," Sango started, "when I firsed attacked, I grazed the middle head with my hiraikotsu."

"So just look for the head with a scratch, I can do that," Sanura responded. She looked up at the youkai, "That one," she shouted, "the one crouched down, the other heads are...protecting it!"" Sanura continued to look at the youkai, "Okay, I have a plan, but we'll have to work fast..."
