Chapter 2: The abduction

Sango was relaxing in the sun, stretched out on the summer grass. Though her body was still, her mind raced. So many things had happened in the last month that she could hardly get her head around them. After two years of fighting, they had finally defeated Naraku. Of course, they had needed the help of Sesshomaru and Kouga to accomplish this daring feat, a fact that irked Inuyasha to no end. For her part, Sango was only grateful to the two demons for without their assistance Naraku would surely have killed her and her friends.

WNaraNaraku out of the way, the shard-hunting companions were now able to move on with their lives. Inuyasha had finally admitted his feelings for Kagome and, four days ago, asked her to be his mate. Sango we happy for her friends but she could not hold back the loneliness that gripped her soul when she thought of them. She was jealous, not because she wanted Inuyashr her herself, but because she had no one to love her as the hanyou loved the young miko.

For a while, Sango had thought that she could form a match with Miroku. After all, the monk was always making sly comments and trying to grope her. However, that dream was shattered when the houshi announced he was leaving the village to return to Koharu. Miroku cared for the young woman more than he had previously let on and also felt obligated to her since she had been so steady in her affection for him, despite his long absence. Sango had been heart broken at the thought of being rejected. If a pervert didn’t want her than what man would. The demon slayer was no fool, knewknew she was not has dainty and beautiful has other woman, and that her body was marred by the scars of her hardship. But her heart was that of a woman, and she craved for the arms of a loving man who would fight to protect her…even if she could protect herself.

Sango’s thought were interrupted by the sound of rustling leafs. Getting to her feet, she scanned the trees for any signs of danger. She could feel a demon presence in the area, but before she could react a rough cloth bag was pushed over her head. Her attackers moved quickly. Knocking her to the ground, one place a knee between her shoulder blades while the other tied her hands behind her back.

Once her hands were secured, the demons lifted Sango so she could stand. Wasting no time, she threw her head back and hit the first in the face with a sharp hbuttbutt, then lashed out at the other with her legs, hitting him in the groin. Despite her blindness, Sango tried to run away, back to Kaede’s village. But her attackers recovered quickly and grabbed her before she could get very far.

- “I suggested you don’t try that again, my Lady” One said as he yanked her back by her pony tail. “We are under orders not to kill you but I’m sure our Lord would understand if we roughed you up a bit to prevent your escape. “

S wou would have ignored the threat but for the clawed hand that wrapped around her neck. Understanding that it was futile to try to resist, at least for the moment, Sango’s body relaxed. She would obey for now and make her move once they let their guard down. Interpreting the relaxation of her body as surrender, the demon hoisted Sango over his shoulder and disappeared into the forest, while his companion covered their retreat.

The trio did not stop until nightfall. The demons knew that as eas essential to put as much distance between themselves and the village to prevent any rescuers from catching up to them before they reached their lands. The group covered almost ten leagues in the hours that followed, but the pace was very arduous and they eventually had to stop. Both wolves were exhausted from running and Sango was very sore for having been in such an uncomfortable position all day, perched precariously on the shoulder of Ookamiichiro.

They stopped to make camp and Ookamijiro built a fire. The brothers could have done wut iut it, but the human girl was of a more fragile constitution and it would have been unwise to present her to their prince if she was ill. Lifting Sango from his shoulder, the eldest brother sat her down on the ground with her back propped against a tree. He did not remove the bag covering her head; it was better if she did not see their faces.

- “Our Lord sends a gift.” Ookamiichiro finally said. “He requests that you abandon your strange garb and wear this lovely kimono he has sent you.

Placing the kimono in Sango’s lap, they waited for her reaction. Sango knew her abductors were demons, she could feel their auras clearly, but she was unsure what type of demon. If only she could see them, she might be able to figure out who their Lord was and why he’d had her kidnapped. Whoever he was, she would not be his puppet.

- “No!” She said, getting to her feet to lend weight to her protest. “I’m not some doll and I won’t e ane any ridiculous kimono.”

- “Wench, you will do as you are told.” Ookamijiro ordered, being the more short-tempered of the two brothers. “Now, either you put it on yourself or I will do it for you.”

Would he? Would this unknown demon dare to undress her if she continued to refuse? Normally, men, no matter how they tried to impress their supposed superiority upon her, did not easily intimidate Sango. However, something in his tone made her pause. She detected a note of lustfulness in his words; and Sango could not trust the he would not take advantage of the situation.

- “Fine!” Sango shouted, hoping to conceal her nervousness with anger. “But you’ll have to untie my hands and avert your eyes. I don’t want you watching me.”

- “We will untie your hands but I’m afraid we cannot turn away, my Lady, you would only try to run again.” Ookamiichiro told her.

- “Well that’s too bad, because I’m not undressing in front of you!” She stated categorically.

Sango could just imagine them leering at her while she removed her clothing. She would not humiliate herself in such a way! If they were so adamant about her putting on the damned kimono than they would comply with her request for privacy.

- “If you promise that you will not run and that you will not remove the cowl, then we will not look at you.” Ookamiichiro offered, opting for a gentler approach.

- “I promise.” She reluctantly agreed.

Turning her back to her kidnappers, Sango waited for one of them to undo the ropes that secured her wrists. Once her hands were free, she rubbed her arms to restore the feeling in them. She then bent down to pick up the discarded kimono and felt her way around the tree so she could hide on the other side will she disrobed.

Sango was sorely tempted to remove the hood and run, but she had given her word. She was honor bound to stay. She emerged from behind the tree a short time later, dressed in the finely woven kimono her captors had given her. Both brothers gasped when they saw her. The robe was a bit small for her form, particularly around the chest area, and they could clearly make out her womanly curves beneath the semi-translucent fabric. Truly, their lord had great taste, in both women and clothing.

Recovering first, Ookamiichiro approached her and took the slayer suit that she held in her arms. He passed the garments to his brother and then retied Sango’s hands.

- “You should rest now, my Lady.” He told her. “We will leave again early tomorrow morning and you will need your strength for I cannot carry you always.”

- “And when will we reach the lair of your lord?” She asked him, hoping she could work out a plan for escape before they arrived at their stronghold.

- “If all goes well, we should reach his land before nightfall on the second day.” He answered. “But understand that if you try to run, we will tie your feet and we will carry you, even if you are quite heavy.”

Sango oomphed at his comment. How dare he call her heavy! She knew quite well that she was very diminutive, even for a woman. Having no choice, Sango lay down on the cold ground and tried to sleep. But slumber was slow in coming, and instead she pondered her situation. She was blindfolded and her hands were fastened behind her back, there was no way she could escape with her movements so restricted. And she was becoming very curious about this mysterious Lord the brothers were always referring too. ”What sort of man has a girl kidnapped and then gives her a gift?” Sango was almost tempted to forgo freedom so she could learn his identity.

=======================

The next two days flew by in a haze, and by the time they reached the mountains, Sango was exhausted, thirsty and hungry. Ookamiichiro and Ookamijiro had refused to halt for more than a few minutes at a time, stopping only long enough for them to drink some much-needed water. They had not provided her with any food and had forced her to walk until she was ready to collapse. When they were dissatisfied with the speed at which she was walking, they would take turns carrying her. And so, she’d had no opportunity to break free from them and return to Kaede’s village. “I hope this lord of theirs has food and drink? At this rate, I’ll soon be a wraith!” Sango thought to herself.

- “We will arrive shortly, my lady. “ Ookamiichiro said, breaking through her thoughts.

He was true to his word, in less than an hour the trio was standing before the cave entrance, waiting to be admitted into the princes’ presence.

- “Took you long enough” The guard standing at attention said once they were within earshot. “The prince has been expecting you since last night”

- “Then stop flapping your jaw and let us pass.” Ookamijiro responded harshly.

Lifting up his spear, the self-important guard reluctantly allowed the brothers and their captive to enter the cave. Making their way towards Kouga, who was conversing with Ginta, they bent down in a respectful bow and forced Sango to her knees.

- “We have brought the woman as you requested, my Lord” Ookamiichiro said, never looking up at his prince.

- “Very good.” Kouga answered. “Now, remove the hood so that I may gaze upon my beloved.”

Sango’s head shot up at his words. That voice, it was so familiar to her but she could not tell where, and in what capacity, she had heard it before. Her musings were cut short when the cowl was yanked from her head and her eyes were assaulted by the torchlight that lit the cave. Gradually, she regained her sight and looked up at the man standing before her.

- “What the hell…?”
