"Momma... how could Inuyasha be taking me to school? He doesn't even know what a car is!" Ms. Higurashi looked at Kagome as if she's grown another head.
"Darling... are you feeling ok?" Kagome shook her head as if to clear it.
"Yea... I'm fine." Pulling on a smile, she walked into the livingroom, she had to see this for herself. Sure enough, there, standing near her couch, was Inuyasha. He looked the same as always, long sliver hair, golden eyes. However... a red cap hid his fluffy dog ears, a white T-shirt streached over his chest and blue jeans covered his legs. A very modern hanyou, indeed.
"Ready to go? You slept in late and I was about to leave you. You can walk to school for all I care!" Kagome sighed, giving him an annoied look. You can take the hanyou out of the feudal era, but you can't take the feudal era out of the hanyou. She had to giggle at that thought.
"What are you laughing at, wench? Let's go!" Without even waiting for her to respond, he headed for the door. "Sango's waiting in the truck, so hurry up!" Sango? Sango is here as well? Saying bye to her mother, she raced after Inuyasha, her backpack bouncing against her back. Kagome shut the door behind her and followed Inuyasha to his 4x4 sliver truck, Tetsusaiga written in blood like letters on each door.
"Hey Kagome!" Called Sango as she openned the door and climed out to let Kagome in, Sango was dressed in a school uniform. "Sleep in late again?" Kagome could only nod. Something was wrong and she couldn't place her finger on what it was, then suddenly, it hit her. My wish! Could it be? Did it really come true? As she climed into the truck, Sango following her, she could only think that was it. Kagome looked up at Inuyasha as he started the truck and pulled out. That's the only thing it could be... how else can I explain this? She turned her gaze to the road, watching cars go by, wing ing as they past buildings, watching as her school came into view.
"Are you looking forward to the party tonight?" Sango suddenly asked. Party? What party?
"Ummm... what party?\ "Y "You forgot about the party Inuyasha's throwing at his house?" Sango shook her head. "Girl, I can't believe you'd forget something like that!" Kagome looked up at Inuyasha. Inuyasha? Throwing a party? At his house? Things were getting stranger by the minute.
"Oh! That party! Of course I'm looking forward to it!" She smiled at the once taijiya.
They pulled into the parking lot of the school and she was greeted with yet another suprise. Miroku leaned against the wall of the school building. Gone was his robes, he wore a dark purple T-shirt and black jeans and no longer had the glove or beads that once covered the hole in his hand. At her side, Sango squealed at the sight of him, all but running out of the truck before Inuyasha had even stoped. Sango? In a hurry to get to Miroku? That was a first and it shocked Kagome.
"Hey.. have a great day." Kagome turned her head to him as he spook to say thanks, but was unable to say it cause Inuyasha kissed her.
"Ummmm... yea. Thanks." Stuned, she climed from the truck and shut the door, watching as he drove away. Everything had changed.... everything, but her.
