chapter 2
Author’s note: Another chapter is up, I fin fig figure how to this website work so I think this chapter will be much better than the last, of course it will be better cuz Sesshoumaru is in it! The last chapter was concentrate on Rin since I figure you must know about her background first. I must say Rin is a out of her original character but I’m so tired of reading of Sess/Rin fanfics where Rin is so innocent. So I decided to make her a little feisty. Sorry if she cursed a lot but like I said I want this Rin to be a little “unique.”
Chapter 2:
He stand there still like a beautiful artistically statue in the morning ray. The window’s moon-shaped beaded curtain sway back as the wind hit them and making strange, soft musical sounds. From his bedroom balcony, he looked over the Western Land that he rules . He looks over on the floor’s surface, it was covered with creamy white marbles as its base color. In the middle of the balcony are tiny pieces of blue and green marbles glue together to created a crystal shape decoration. The marbles had come from the Northern Land through the trading route. Lately, most of the trading trips were canceled due the lost of the traders that he had lost in the last 5 months. All of the cases were similar in the end, they all got killed by a mysterious female. And good as his guess with other people in the court, the woman is the same person every time.
“M’ lord! M’ lord!” Jakken ran to Sesshoumaru as he yelped out, “The human girl was trying to escape again this morning!” the green creature reported.
Sesshoumaru turned around to stare down at the 2 feet toad, “Do you think I, Sesshoumaru, care about a worthless human? And why didn’t they just get rid of her already?” the sound of annoyance appeared in this voice.
Jakken scurried back a little, “I’m sorry my lord but this is the 17th time she had try to escape. The guards had beat it her up many times and some were killed for some reason but yet she still stay alive so I thought you--” the toad stopped in this track as he realized a pair of icy golden eyes were staring at him, this made him shiver.
“Right Sesshoumaru-sama! I’ll get right to it!” he hurried off.
“Jakken…” Sesshoumaru called out calmly.
“Yes m’ lord?”
“The human… what does she look like?” he asked out of the blue.
Jakken look at his master in disbelieve, why would his master, the lord of the western land, would care about a stupid human girl? And especially ask about her appearance?
“What was that milord?” Jakken asked his master again not sure what Sesshoumaru had just ask.
“I will not repeat myself toad.”
“Ummm yes of course! I don’t know how she look like but I’ll get right on to it!”
“Return with the information in 5 minutes. No later no sooner, if you can’t collect the information in time, don’t bother to come or fear the consequences.”
“I’ll get right to it Sesshoumaru-sama!” Jakken bow down to his master and then ran away to find the girl to see how she look like.
Later that night:
Sleep is something he doesn’t need, in fact sleep is uncalled for demons. He can stayed awake for years to come, but taking naps does help relax all the stress and tension from the busy day he had to deal with. Many of his traders had been murdered by an unknown woman. First Kai, then Yamato, next Kieji, and there are more afterward and now his most successful trader, Kisho had been killed. No one really care about the first few case since they thought it was an unfortunate incident. However as time passed by, more of his men were killed and now there are only 13 men that is left out of 50. The cases all lead to: they met a young maiden and then get killed awhile afterward. Many suspicions were pointed toward the anonymous female.
Sesshoumaru is disappointed that all his men were weak just by a female, and what worse is that she is a human. How could this murderer killed those powerful demons of his?! Not that he cared but his business is going down the drain with so many good traders gone. But what troubled him most is why the mysterious girl did it. Theere ere some clues that he we abe able to collect from the villagers who lived around the victims. The woman appeared to be petite, has long black hair, brown eyes, and a one of a kind smile that can melt any cold heart. It’s impossible to find that ‘right’ one. ¾ of the women who live in the 4 regions, North, East, South, and West has black hair and brown eyes. The smile is an opinion factor so that doesn‘t help much. The possibility of finding her is one out of millions. The handsome lord of demons drifted off to slumber as the subject kept going back and forth in his mind.
Meanwhile:
Rin had wait until all the servants in the basement fell as sleep. She then quietly tiptoe upstairs toward the first floor of the castle. Then a thought struck her mind, she doesn’t know where the lord sleep! Rin hit herself in the head for not thinking thoroughly, but there is no turning back now that she had reach the first floor. In the morning she had pretend to escape again so iesn’esn’t raise any suspicious thoughts to why she didn’t try today. It worked out just as she planned.
Now on the first floor, Rin slides the first double door she saw opened and look inside. She gasped at the image before her sight, it was the biggest storage room she had ever seen! Standing 100 feet tall and the size of her 3 villages combined, the room is filled with gold and jewelries. Oh wow! I can be filthy rich with some of these treasures! Rin thought as she started to gather some of the gold. But slowly, she started to get a hold of her mind, even if she were able to get these treasures, she can’t do anything with them unless she escaped first. As a finally decision, Rin dropped all of her new possessions down and headed out in the hall once again. She slides the door back and make them look as if no one had been there. One room out, about a few hundreds more to go. Hell this will take forever, I better start using my brain. Hmm… If I were the master of this castle, where would my bedroom be… The ruler’s bedroom is always on top of the castle in the fairy tale stories that I’ve read. Maybe it’s up there. But what happened if it’s not? What happened if there’s a big monster that lives in there and going to eat me?! good and bad thoughts ran through in in Rin’s mind, Oh what the fuck, I’ll be killed sooner or later anyway. Might as well take the risk. Rin decided finally as she started to climb more stairs.
After an hour or tiptoeing she decided to walk quietly, after another hour Rin started to loose her patient after STILL clig. Jg. Just when she finally started to gave up, she reaches the top floor. Sighing with relief that she did it, Rin was soon stunned to find out what is in front of her. The hallway was the biggest hall way she had ever been in. The carpet was creamy white as the background with dark blue boarder. In the middle of the carpet is some kind of a humongous dog-like design, it looks strong and vicious like no dog Rin had ever seen, the picture was so real it seems to jumps out at her! Rin examined the light-chocolate colored wall, it stay the same color till the ceiling. In every 20 feet or so, there is a white gold chandelier hang from the tall ceiling. On both side of the wall are doors to different room, Rin begin to walk forward not knowing exactly what she is looking for. Still gazing around, Rin at last come to a dead end.
At the stop of the hall is a double door white framed door. The inside of the frame is made out of stained glass with the design of the dog that is on the carpet. On each side of the door is a white stoned statue of the same dog again! Talking about a dog’s lover! For some reason, she has the feeling that this is the master of the palace’s lair.
Rin pushed the door open and walk inside. Once again, she was overwhelmed by the interior of another great room. The den unlike any other, changes color and tone when she touches it. A 7 feet circular white bed was located on Rin’s left. Beside the king size bed is single door that has the same design as the entrance door of the bedroom. Across from the pale colored bed is a TV that is the wall itself! Playing on the TV/wall is “Friends.” (K, I know that is not so ‘sesshy-ish’ to watch “Friends” but hey! Can you blame me? I love that show!!!) Diagonally from where Rin standing is a double sided window, same design as the rest of the doors in the room, with a long beaded curtain hanging in front of it. That door must have lead to the balcony or something. In a far corner of the chamber is a set of black velvet sofa facing each other. Between them is a silver stained glass coffee table. Numerous of accessories like mirror, lightings, plants, and candles were scatter around the room would make any visitor feel like they‘re in a 5 stars hotel suite.
At this rate, I’ll never find that wicked sword in this big room by the morning…Where are the hell are you hiding?
Then, she saw it! There laying on the bed is a long metal object. The Toutousai! happily she finally found the damn thing, Rin ran to the sword happily.
Now that she is closer Rin can see the exterior of the great sword that everyone was talking about. It appeared to be a regular sword, with the length about 4 feet long, 3 inches wide, and about one inch thick, the sword appeared to be harmless to her. Along the two sides of the sword are many tiny missing sections. Guessing that this sword is quite old because of the its appearance and its worn out handle, Rin attempt to took the sword anyway.
“Ughhh!!! …Ughh!!!” Rin pulls onto the sword but it wouldn’t budge. Whoever made this damn sword must’ve spend a lot of time on it. And whoever can lift this stupid thing up anyway?!?! God it’s heavy!
After a few minutes of struggling, she was finally be able to put the sword over her back with a rope tie to it for securing. Joyfully Rin turn around and plan to get out of this place and back to her aunt before a pair of big blood red eyes stopped her.
“Ahh--” Rin instantly started to scream but she was cut short by a hand that was practically suffocating her. She reached up to the stranger’s hand and pull them off, at the same time she lost her balance to the heavy sword and fall onto the soft velvet bed. Instantaneously Rin pulled out her sword and pointed at her opponent who is wearing nothing but a pant (possibly a boxer or brief underneath that but we will find out later ^_^)
“One step closer and I’ll chop your head in half,” Rin hesitate for awhile then added, “and I mean both of them!!!” (K, whoever doesn’t get that joke can consider yourself slow or you’re just not old enough to read this fanfic.)
“Are you listening to me?! Back off!” Rin said as she swung the sword wildly at the man that is two times her size. The unfamiliar person dodge lightly as the sword barely touched his toned chest.
He keep staring at her, his icy tiger eyes gaze at her as if she’s deadly prey. Rin doesn’t like it when a male stare at her, not even a good looking guy who is shirtless like him. Since he didn’t reply nor did anything, Rin started to examine the stranger.
He is quite tall, about 6 feet or perhaps taller, his visible six packs, muscular arms, and broad shoulders are tan and tone in every angle. His long silver moonlight hair hang loose behind his straight back. The male’s face is rather strange to Rin because of the markings on his face. A blue sky crescent moon is visible on his forehead. Two red streaks were adorn on each his cheeks. His fiery yet cold golden eyes are what interest her the most, it’s empty yet hold some mysterious puzzles in it. The more she stare at his eyes, the deeper she trapped in that forever ending maze of his. His tiny nose fell perfectly above his lips. By far this is the most gorgeous man Rin had seen in her life! She would give him a 20 out of 10! But then she feel disappointed , Feh! All the too-good-looking-to-be-real guys out there are either assholes or g/P>

Argh! If you won’t talk, I might as well be dead trying to kill you! At that Rin bring back the sword, “I suggest you let me go! I will not be afraid to use the Toutousai on you!”
Still he didn’t say anything! She can’t take it anymore, she feel like talking to the wall. Rin next attempt come up and she swung the sword again aiming at his perfect face Heh if this succeed no more Mr. Good-looking for you! Rin smirked at her evil thought. Just then thn’s n’s index and middle finger come up and stop the tip of her sword as she bring it down toward him. She tried to push it farther but the sword wouldn’t shift. Too tired already, Rin let go of the sword and let it fall to the ground making some dents in the carpet. Just go with the flow Rin… Just go with the flow. You will be dead in a minute but hey! At least you’ll die by the hand of a complete hottie! Rin smiles to herself as her thought made her feel a little bit better, yeah a complete hottie who won’t even talk to you! Hey maybe he can’t talk or something! Good I probably don’t want to hear his voice anyway!
Then he speak, “That’s funny,” Sesshoumaru’s deep warm voice heat up the room although there doesn’t seem to be any warmness in them, “you tried to steal my sword yet you don’t know the real name of it. You tried to kill me yet you don’t even know how to use the Tenseiga.”
“Huh?” was all Rin could say.
“You intended to intrude my room but you don’t really know the way around nor escape,” Sesshoumaru stated, “you are a perfect example to show how foolish humans are. You are a worthless creature, you are worse than a half-breed, you are weak and unintelligent just as I thought all humans are. ”
Rin growled at his false comment, “Well whatever you said I am, I KNOW that you are 100 times worse than us ‘human’ as you call me. And what do you know anyway?! You are not human! You are just a low life jerk who think WE are lower just because we don’t have power like you!” the harsh words come out of Rin like never before. She hate the man in front of her and needless to say, he’s the lord of the west, to think such an attractive guy being a complete jackass. But at least he’s not silent anymore.
Sesshoumaru again stare in the human girl’s eyes. She does not fear him nor does she seem attracted to him like other women that he met; human ,hanyou, and youkai. That never happened before.
“I like a feisty woman,” started the young lord, “fate must hate me to make you a dumb human girl that you are.”
“And fate must have love me to make me a human girl so I can stay away from you!” Rin made a face at the lord of demons.
Sesshoumaru’s eyes redden and in speed of lightning, he had pinned Rin to the wall where she is held helplessly due to her short and petite body “No one dare to take this Sesshoumaru lightly! And you are no different, human.”
“Us ‘human’ are different in each and everyway.”
“You are perhaps right, if that is so. You are far the most annoying and bitchy human I had ever face,” Sesshoumaru said calmly now regaining his temper.
“And you are far the most INFURIATING and ‘FUGLIEST’ demon I had ever seen!” Rin blurted out. (You like the new word? Fugly=fuckin’ ugly, get it? Haha ok get back to the story.)
Ok so she was lying about him being ugly but what can a girl say when a guy say she’s annoying and bitchy?!
Once again Rin knew she won another argument. Sesshoumaru quiet down after her last remark. Maybe it does work in someway.
The youkai’s emperor walk over to his bed pulling Rin with him. What is he planning to do with me?! Don’t tell me! I don’t want to know! The silver hair chap pressed a green button on a little box on his dresser beside the bed. “Jakken, I need you down here pronto.”
Within a blink of an eye, Rin gasped as she saw the double door open and a littreenreen like toad rushed in the room, “Yes m’ lord! You called-- Hey who are you?! Oh you must be that stupid girl that tried to escape every other morning! M’ lord I’m so sorry she sneak all the way up here to bother you, I--”
“How dare you care me stupid! First your master and now you! You disgusting slimy toad!” Rin yelled out breaking out of Sesshoumaru’s grasp.
The green toad’s eyes widen at the little girl’s rude word but moreover he was startled at her high pitch voice. Too shocked that he scurried and hide behind the bed.
Sesshoumaru looked down at the human girl before him as he seize her arm again.
“When I get my hand on you, you slimy toad I’ll shred you into pieces more than a puzzle piece,” Rin shriek out. (Rin seems to be quite in the mood for yelling today eh?)
“That’s enough human I order you to be quiet, woman,” Sesshoumaru ordered, his eyes staring deeply into her.
“Make me!” Rin argue back, her face full of hatred.
Too annoyed by the girl’s silly words Sesshoumaru slapped Rin knocking her off balance and fall onto his bed once again. The girl lay still on the bed not moving an inch.
That will shut you up for awhile. I have enough of your speaker box for one night. Sesshoumaru thought, “Jakken, locked her in the dungeon. Make sure you didn’t feed her or bring any water for her.”
“Yes master, should I bring the guards to beat her up?”
“Did I say that the guards could?”
“No, but I thought--”
“Beat it before I decided to make the guards beat you up.”
“Y-yes Sesshoumaru-sama.”
Author’s note: Ok so they didn’t start out all that good but hey, good time will come. Love is pain, and no pain, no game. I have to show sess’s usual side first, you know the obnoxious and proud. He can’t just soften by just looking at Rin now can he? Of course not! I don’t believe in love at first sight and it’s not gonna happen now. So please leave reviews, seriously I mean it! I will cry if I don’t see anymore reviews. =( Ok, I’ll shut my loud mouth now. Peace out!
