The new stage of play

Last Time:
Inuyasha briefly glanced over at Kagome for a moment, his ears flicking at the sound of her voice, but turned away quickly when her eyes caught his. "Don't... Don't..." Too overcome with emotions to continue, he simply stood up and repeated his actions before, but much more quickly and away from Miroku. 'Damn it... Just let me think...' he thought as his speed quickly increased.
Kagome still sat, her hand raised in the same position as if Inuyasha was still there, "Inuyasha!" she called, quickly standing and regaining her slipping composure. "Inuyasha!" She called once more, frantically now. She quickly ran after...

Sango just stared after the retreating form of her friend.
Shippou almost frantically looked after the two, silently contemplating whether to follow or stay.
Miroku let out a sigh he didn't know he was holding when the kitsune finally followed after his two friends. "Sango-san?" he asked, his voice low as she continued to watch them leave.
Sango quickly reverted her gaze back from her retreating friends. "Hai?" she asked, her eyes moving across his handsome features, causing her to blush slightly.
"Nothing, just..." He let his voice trail off before leaning his back against the tree where Inuyasha had been a moment before. "He..."
Sango quietly waited for him to go on, as she idly moved the confused Kirara into her arms, petting her lightly, as her weapon leaned against her shoulder.
"He's not just different. His very soul.. It's unsettled." HE shook his head lightly, unprepared to wait for her to answer before a silent hand headed behind her to a very certain place.
+SLAP+ Sango looked a Miroku's reddening face in disgust, as the normal un-proper thoughts quickly rushed through her mind. "Let's set up camp." She muttered.

"Inuyasha..." a small voice shyly emerging from under the tree in which the brooding hanyou now sat. "Can I talk to you?
"Shippou..." Inuyasha murmured beneath his breath, somehow relieved. "Yeah...Okay..." The words seemed to naturally come to him.
"Inuyasha what's wrong? What happened? You making Kagome okaa-san worried... Please tell me? I know you think I'm just a brat but... I wont tell anyone..." he squeaked meekly, twisting his small hands together.
"Shippou.." he grunted lightly, nipping at his own lip to hold back his unlikely sobs. 'Worried. No... she doesn't care...' "Come up here, Shippou," he answered, much too gently.
Shippou immediately complied, jumping up into the tree next to Inuyasha. He reassuringly put his hand on Inuyasha's for a minute before removing it. "Please...will you tell me?...And why do you smell so much like ..some girl?" he pleaded softly looking up at the man who had been a prominent figure in his life since his family had died. Though he wouldn't easily admit it.
Kagome stopped as she heard the voices of Inuyasha and Shippou, calmly too! 'They're not fighting?!' It almost made her sad to think Inuyasha would willingly talk to
Shippou about these things, but not her. She needed him to she would always be there for him. Catching him if he were to ever fall...
"Yeah...Shippou.." 'Perhaps it is time to let it out... But to the kit? So young... So unlikely to understand?' "But tell me...Is Kagome nearby? My senses are clouded and I... cant think quite straight..." 'No, I cant let Kagome head this. Can't let her... her worry about me.'
Kagome's eyes widened in surprise at how gentle the two were being. But shock, and a chilling sense of fear overtook her at Shippou's remark on Inuyasha's scent, as well as Inuyasha's inquiry about her position. She's lowly crept beneath the bushes some more, desperate not to be found. 'Please... don't find me...'
Of course, Kagome couldn't have picked a better set of bushes to hide in. Her natural scent of lavender blended perfectly in the patch of lavender bushes she had hid in. Shippou sniffed the air slightly, not finding any trace of any other besides the lavender below, and the dog hanyou beside him. "No...She's not anywhere around, Inuyasha..." he softly replied once again, moving his gaze to the young man beside him.
He nodded once more and increased his bite on his lip. "Shippou... It's Kikyou." Memories instantly flooded his mind just at the name. However the fond ones from decades ago had been replaced by the recent nightmares. He looked downward and let a few strands of his silver hair hang over his face and shadow his eyes.
Shippou immediately increased his attention on the hanyou at the mention of the name. "What happened? Did she try to take youhellhell with her?1" 'But the scent change...'
Kagome's eyes widened as she restrained from jumping up and sting Inuyasha into infinity. It was always Kikyou he ran too when things got hard. Further more he was always comparing her with her incarnate! They weren't the same person! But Kikyou had never made him act like this...
"No, kit...you don't understand.." He slowly let out a sigh and combed his own hair with a claw. "Shippou, I... I didn't want to smell like her," he continued his tone beginning to take up a desperate side. "I.. I didn't want her to Shippou. But damn it..." He leaned further against the tree and closed his eyes. "Or do you...not understand...?"
Shippou just looked up at Inuyasha, desperately trying to figure out the meaning of what the hanyou desperately was trying to tell him. "I can't understand..." he murmured, weakly, looking away.
Kagome's attention increased as Inuyasha's voice took on its desperate tone. 'Smell like her? Don't want to...' It all wasn't making sense...
'Damn it, Shippou... I hope your right about Kagome not being here.' "Shippou... she... she mated with me," he answered, his voice lower though still clear. "And I... Damn it, I didn't want to.. But my body still reacted..." His hand drifted to his face to briefly shield his shame. "I'm just disgusting now, don't you see?! Even more so than before..."
Shippou yelped and buried his small face in Inuyasha's shoulder. "So... So that's where you've been!? You didn't m-m-mark her right?! What about-"
But he was interrupted by a gasp from below as the full force of what was hit Kagome. 'No... No! HE DIDN'T!'
Inuyasha shook at the sudden rush of emotion in his chest at the sound of Kagome. Too enveloped by emotion, he simply stared sown at the bush, his eyes wide with shock. 'No... no Kagome.. Please no...DAMN IT!' He punched the limb below him to force himself out of his shock. Leaning forward his eyebrows furrowed. "KAGOME!"
Kagome just shot down into the bushes even more, a familiar stinging forming at the back of her eyes. 'Why, damn it?! Why her? Why didn't you stop her?!'
At Inuyasha's sudden, and quick outburst Shippou jumped from the tree, running back through the darkness, in the direction of the camp. 'How could he do that to Kagome okaa-san? ...but he didn't want to...'
'Shippou.. don't..' "DAMN IT!" Inuyasha growled lightly at himself and raised one knee up to his lower-chest. 'You've hurt her, you bastard! Now there's no chance of her ever trusting you...Not that there was one in the first place...' He looked after Shippou's quickly retreating figure before back down at the bush he'd heard Kagome from. "Kagome..." He gulped between his words. "Don't.. go.. not yet..."
