Chapter 3
During lunch Inu Yasha had explained what happened between him and Kagome’s mother, he told them that he had to apologize to her and left by himself.
Kagome and Sango walked back to Kaede’s while the blue eyes turned and left for the rest of the day, Kagome had wanted to go with Inu Yasha but he said he needed to go by himself.
Inu Yasha walked towards the house as he sniffed he realized that only Ms. Higurashi was home, he knocked lightly and smelt tears as he heard Kagome’s mom sniffle “Come in.”
She had her head on the table when Inu Yasha came in “it’s me.” He said.
She hopped up and spun around and grabbed Inu Yasha into a tight embrace, they stood there for a while as Inu Yasha purred to calm her down. They pulled away and she looked at him “Inu Yasha I don’t know what to do” she sniffled “I don’t want to hurt Kagome but I-I . . . have fallen in love with you but didn’t realize it until this morning.
Inu Yasha was staring at her with his mouth hanging open; she put her hand under his jaw and shut it. Before he could say anything else she was kissing him, he found himself kissing back before he pulled away “we can’t . . .” he tried to say.
“Inu Yasha I need you” she almost began to cry again.
Inu Yasha did not know what to do so he said, “I’ll think about it.”
Ms. Higurashi was so happy that she lightly kissed him “thanks.”
“Just don’t tell Kagome” said Inu Yasha then turned to leave, but not before taking a sniff of her stomach, ‘shit she’s pregnant!’ he thought.
She looked at him for a second before he pulled his face away from her stomach, then he was gone and she was left happy that Inu Yasha would at least think about it.
When Inu Yasha returned he sat with the rest of the group in Kaede’s hut, Shippo could smell Kagome’s mom on him. He walked over and sniffed the hanyou’s lips before pulling away “Inu Yasha why do your lips smell like Kagome’s mom?” he asked innocently.
Kagome was shocked at what she heard Shippo ask, when she looked up Inu Yasha turned his head away. Sango was looking pissed but the monk did not notice he was to busy thinking his hentai thoughts, because he had seen a picture that Kagome had brought with her of her mother.
“Inu Yasha what happened?” asked Kagome who was on the verge of tears.
“I went back to tell your mother I was sorry about last night.” He said.
Miroku was now grinning like a maniac, “so Inu Yasha . . .” his voice trailed off as he saw the glares of Sango and Kagome.
“So why do your lips smell like her?” asked Sango.
“Because we kissed,” he said lowering his head.
Kagome began to cry and Sango would have attacked Inu Yasha if she was not holding Kagome in her arms.
“How could you do that?” asked Sango.
“I still want you two to be my mates” he said and that got Miroku’s attention “but how can you accept me when Kagome’s mom is going to have my pup?” he asked as he began to cry.
Kagome stopped crying when she heard this and looked at Inu Yasha, he was crying and kept his head down. Sango and Kagome moved over to him and began hugging him; Miroku was getting pissed but hid that fact very well. Shippo was sitting near Kaede as they watched the scene unfold, Inu Yasha was crying as the girls tried to calm him down.
“Inu Yasha we’ll think of something just settle down,” said Sango.
“Ok” he whispered and wiped away his tears.
“Wait” said Kagome “that still doesn’t explain why you kissed her.”
Inu Yasha looked nervous “I didn’t tell her she was pregnant, but when I saw her she was crying” he explained and lied a little bit “then she hugged me and kissed me before telling me . . .” he trailed off.
“Telling you what?” asked Kagome.
He sighed “before telling me she has fallen in love with me” he said not looking at anyone’s reaction.
Kagome gasped along with everyone else and after a while she had agreed to take Sango and Inu Yasha back to talk with her mother.
