Memories Can Return

Well hello again everybody. I've got nothing to say but REVIEW!!!!!!

Chapter One: The Living Dead


"Inuyasha! Slow down!"Kagome yelled.
Inuyasha turned around and glared impatiently at her.
"Why?"
"I have alot of stuff to carry!"
"Well maybe if you didn't bring so much useless crap, then we would get places faster."
"Can you two stop fighting for at least five minutes?" Miroku said, sighing.
Then, Kagome stopped suddenly and looked to their right.
"What is it? A Shikon shard?" Inuyasha asked.
"Yes" Kagome answered,"Not that far away. Whoever has it is extremely powerful, but something--- something is strange about it."
"Can you sense that deathly energy in this area?" Sango said, "It's making me shiver."
Miroku nodded and said, " I agree, maybe we should skip this one for now."
"Yeah right! Let's go!" He sped off into the trees.
Everyone else just sighed and followed him.
What they found when they got to their destination, was not what they were expecting, though. Because instead of a powerful youkai, ready for battle to defend his shard, there was a sleeping youkai woman.
She was lying on the ground with her back against a tree. She actually looked like a woman version of Sesshoumaru, though. She had the same long silver white hair that spilled on to the grass like liquid, the same pointed ears, even the same blue crescent moon. What was different though was that she had blue eyelids, and no stripes on her face. (And she has both arms but I'll skip that) Her outfit, which was a white kimono with a pale blue obi, was made from pure silk that must have cost a fortune.
The only things marring her glowingly beautiful appearance was the various rips in her white kimono, and the left-sleeve of it, which was soaked in dark red blood.
"Where is the shard?" Inuyasha asked Kagome.
She squinted. " In her...heart." she answered.
" Okay, let's take it before she wakes up and---"
"No!"
Inuyasha looked back at her, a little confused," Why? Would you rather she kill us?"
Kagome looked at the demoness. " No. She is ---dead. Well, not dead. She is alive, but she did die. Now the only thing keeping her alive is that shard. Sort of like Kohaku, except this shard isn't tainted by Naraku." Even Kagome herself didn't know how she figured that out.
"Well then," Inuyasha smirked, " I guess that there will be one less youkai to worry about killing later. I mean she'll have to die eventually, why not do it now and get it over with?"
Ignoring how familiar this woman seemed to him, he walked over to where she was sleeping.
"You shouldn't do that Inuyasha, she might wake up." Sango said.
Inuyasha ignored her and went to rip the shard out of the womans heart.
" Inuyasha, don't do it!" Kagome said.
Inuyasha was almost there, when the woman opened her eyes.
"Shit!" Inuyasha yelled, jumping backwards. He had right to be shocked, as the color of the woman's eyes were pure, souless, black.
Everyone gasped. However, the demoness did not attack them. She just sat there.
When she spoke, she had a whispery voice, like she hadn't spoken in a very long time.
"Humans," she said, sniffing the air." and one of my own kind." she closed her eyes and sighed," Well, if your going to kill me and take the shard, do it now. I can't move,"
"Okay." Inuyasha said, raising his claws.
"No!" Kagome yelled at him. She kneeled down in front of the demoness." You are an Inu-Youkai?"
The woman opened her eyes and looked at girl questioning her. "Yes, I am" She answered. " My name is Kyoko. That's all I know. I don't really know who I am."
"How did you get hurt?"
"I was attacked by a youkai. I could've defended my self from the damn thing if he hadn't used a poison scroll. However, I wasn't completely numb yet and I slaughtered the pathetic creature.I have been sitting in this spot for three days."
Kagome gasped, " Three days!? You must be starving! And thirsty!"
Kyoko sighed, "Not really. Im completely numb from my neck down. I can't feel if Im hungry or thirsty. But, when the poison scroll is removed, I will be able to."
Inuyasha turned around. "Oh well. Let's go."
"SIT!"
He was slammed face-forward into the ground. When he was able to get up, he yelled,
"What the hell was that for!?"
Kagome stood with her hands on her hips, glaring at him. "We can't just leave her here! We will make camp right here!"
Inuyasha sat a against a tree, mumbling something Kagome's human ears couldn't pick up. Kyoko heard it, but she chose not to repeat it.
"We need firewood," Kagome started, but Kyoko interupted.
"There is enough for now." she said, pointing to a large pile of firewood. "I was gathering some when I was attacked."
Kagome smiled and got the fire started. Soon the fire was blazing, and everyone seated somewhere around it.
Kagome chose to sit next to Kyoko.
"Girl, what is your name?" Kyoko asked.
Kagome looked up at the Demoness. " My name is Kagome. Over there is Sango, Miroku, Shippo, and Inuyasha."
Kyoko's eyes widened slightly at Inuyasha's name, but she continued talking.
"Ka-go-me?"
Kagome nodded happily.
"Well Kagome, do you think you could remove this poison scroll so I can move again?"
Kagome had forgotten about that. "Of course."
She rolled up the left sleeve of Kyoko's kimono, and winced at what she saw.
Kyoko's left arm was covered in dry blood. There was a large gash going down the length of her arm, covered in the middle by a piece of paper.
Kagome peeled that piece of paper off, and watched as the wound healed itself, leaving nothing but a red mark. All the dry blood disappeared, and even the Kimono repaired itself. Now Kagome noticed that Kyoko also had the same wrist stripes as Sesshoumaru.
Kyoko stood up, stretched, and sat back down again against the tree.
"Thank-you, Kagome. What I don't understand though, is why you helped me."
Kagome shrugged" Because, even if you are a youkai, you needed help. And besides, you didn't show any signs of wanting to kill us yet."
Kyoko smiled "Well, again, thank-you. But, do you think I could have some water?"
"Oh yeah!"
Later, after everyone had eaten, the only ones who were awake were Inuyasha and Kyoko.
Kyoko looked at Inuyasha." Do you ever sleep, boy?"
"I have to keep an eye on you." He answered.
"You do not trust me?"
"No, you look my damn brother."
She laughed, "And you look like a damn albino puppy, so now we're even."
He glared at her.
"Bitch." he mumbled.
She smirked. "Why thank-you. I take that as a compliment. After all, I am a female Inu-Youkai."
Inuyasha crossed his arms and looked away. He had lost this arguement.

Uknown to any in the group below, two people sat in the trees, watching them.
"Well this is an interesting turn of events. Who would have guessed that she was still alive?"
"The Shikon shard, it breathes life into her dead body."
"Well, not only does she have rare powers, but an untainted jewel shard. Naraku will be very happy about this."

Sorry, this chapter is short because I had to cut off a part of it and add that part to the second chapter. So, the next one will be long.
It should be up either late tommorow night, or Saturday, so look for it. I hope you guys like it. I know it seems stupid, but it will get much cooler. It's just the beggining. But you can't put italics in. That sucks. Buh Bye ^_^
