Chapter 2
Chapter 2
Sesshomaru landed softly in the courtyard of his estate and had servants carry his brother to a room adjacent to his, Jaken looked questioningly at his master but after a death glare from Sesshomaru he decided to let it slide. Rin followed the servants waiting for them to put Inu Yasha on the bed; she wanted to touch his doggy ears and as the servants left the room, and she climbed onto the bed.
“Hello?” she whispered and saw his ear twitch in her direction; this of course made her giggle.
She watched and saw the lights dancing over his face he looked so beautiful, she touched his face and saw his cheeks were tear streaked. Rin of course was fourteen and should be looking for a mate but Sesshomaru never felt that any man was suitable for her, and felt a weird sensation in her stomach when she looked at Inu Yasha. She then proceeded to touch one of his doggy ears quickly and pull away; when he did not wake, she got braver, touched both his ears, and rubbed them between her thumb and index finger.
“Mmm” came Inu Yasha’s reply as he slept, then a low rumble could be heard emitting from his chest.
Rin heard him purr which made her giggle but then gasp as he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her on top of him, his eyes opened and were glazed but began to clas has his senses told him he was somewhere new. He looked quizzically at the girl he held, who still held his ears, and could smell his brother all over her; he remembered what had happened with Kagome and why he was here but pushed those thoughts aside for now, mainly because she was rubbing his ears.
“Who are you?” asked Inu Yasha as he held back a moan.
“I am Rin,” she answered still holding his doggy ears and he still held her as she lay on top of him.
“The same Rin who was with my brother all those years ago?” he asked.
“Yep” she replied giddily as Inu Yasha began to purr again.
“Rin ggesggest you stop what you are doing” came Sesshomaru’s voice from the doorway, she jumped at this and stood up.
“Why my lord?” she asked looking at a now blushing Inu Yasha and back at Sesshomaru.
He provided an actual genuine smile, which no one thought he could give, and answered, “Because that’s asking if a youkai, or hanyou in this case, if he would except you as a mate.”
“What!?” said Rin looking from Sesshomaru who looked as if he might actually laugh, to Inu Yasha who blushed more deeply and avertis gis golden eyes away from her brown one’s “oh I am sorry Inu Yasha”
She left embarrassed at what she had done and Sesshomaru sat on the bed next to Inu Yasha “Sess why is Rin not mated yet?” asked Inu Yasha.
“No one has been suitable or up to my standards” he said seriously but then grinned at Inu Yasha “why are you interested little brother?”
Inu Yasha blushed an even deeper crimson and shook his head “N-No. . .Umm . . .why would I be?” asked an embarrassed and still aroused hanyou.
“Ah little brother you forget I can smell your arousal” he said and saw Inu Yasha turn away mortified “besides it would be good for her to become part of the family, I have been like a father but I don’t want her as a mate.”
“And you deem me worthy?” asked Inu Yasha.
“Yes” answered Sesshomaru as feeling happiness radiate of his brother “yes I am finally able to make my brother happy and it feels, well it actually feels good.” Thought Sesshomaru who tried to dismiss this, still believing emotions were a sign of weakness.
“Sess?” asked Inu Yasha.
“Get some rest I’ll answer your questions tomorrow” he replied walking to the door.
“Ok brother” said Inu Yasha happily before Sesshomaru closed the door.
Inu Yasha drifted off into a nightmare where everyone he thought cared for him was making fun of him.
DREAM
“What a stupid half breed, believing that anyone could like him!” laughed Kagome leaning into Kouga.
“How pathetic” laughed Miroku who looked down at him as Inu Yasha cowered into a corner.
Even Shippo and Sango laughed at him then Kagome turned and kissed Kouga and then continued to laugh at him, everyone barraged him with their verbal abuse as he began to scream.
END DREAM
Inu Yasha sat up in a cold sweat looking around the room for signs of his attackers, then realized it was a dream. He began to cry as he pulled his knees to his chest, remembering what Kagome said.
He was alone again even if his brother had opened up a little, he was still alone in his heart “Why!?” he asked himself “the person I trusted why did she have to hurt me?”
Rin was walking by and heard him crying and now he was talking to himself, she knocked lightly “Inu Yasha?”
“Come in” he replied.
Rin stepped in as Inu Yasha tried to wipe away his tears “Inu Yasha are you ok?” she asked walking to the bedside.
“Yeah I’m alright” he tried to lie.
Rin knew he was lying and for some reason she felt good around him almost like being whole. She didn’t know exactly why and was then surprised at her own request “Would you like me to stay with you tonight?” she asked wondering how that came to be an option.
He just nodded and she slipped in next to him, Inu Yasha hugged her stomach and felt tired but not alone and started drifting of to sleep giving small whimpers every once in awhile. Rin watched and wondered how this happened or why she felt so weird around him but she wanted him to feel better. Soon she was rubbing his ears again and drifting off to sleep from the sound of his purring.
