Chapter 2 – Picnic in the Forest
It was the third day in a row that Kagome had
snuck off from the group to have a picnic lunch with Koga. Each time she told
them she was going home for lunch and each time Koga carried her far enough away
that Inuyasha would not pick up on her scent. They had picked out a lovely
little clearing and had become attached to it as their own secret little place
to escape to.

Inuyasha was overly suspicious and decided to
follow Kagome through the well to her own time that day. After much protest
from Sango to stay because Kagome’s mother was sick, Inuyasha sprinted off to
the well. That damn girl, her mother better be sick, I just get this feeling
that she’s been lying to me. He pounced out of the well in Kagome’s modern
time sniffing around for her scent but came up empty. She’s not here!
“Oh Inuyashaw niw nice to see you, what
brings you here today, is Kagome okay?” Kagome’s mother was pleasant to the dog
demon that had flung her kitchen door open. “You mean she’s not here with
you?” He could feel his temper rising, she did lie to me!
“No, isn’t she in your tiith ith you and your
friends? I’m not expecting her home for another 3 days or so.” Kagome’s mother
was a little concerned at Inuyasha’s reactiohat hat if her daughter was
missing?&n “So “So she hasn’t been here for lunch at all this week? And you’re not
sick?”
“No, she hasn’t. Is everything okay, is she
missing?” Kagome’s mom anxiously fidgeted waiting for the fuming half-demon to
respond. “Oh she’s FINE! JUST FINE! She’s just been running off for lunch
everyday and told me she was coming here. Don’t worry, I’ll find her.” Before
her mom could react, Inuyasha burst out of her home and stormedk thk through the
well. KAGOME! Where the hell are you?!

Koga leaned up on his arm popping a small piece
of fruit in his mouth. He had been laying on his side enjoying the sunny
afternoon while Kagome spread out the goodies she had brought for lunch.
“Kagome, I have a gift for you.” Koga handed her a medium size package and
Kagome wondered where he even got packaging out in the rural feudal era. It was
not gift wrapped, but wrapped in a thin leather skin and looked remarkably like
packages at the modern day post office.
“What is this for?” She giggled as she daintily
opened it. Her eyes widened as she saw the wonderful gift, an entire wour
ur
outfit like the ones Koga’s clan wore. “Koga…” She did not know what to say so
she smiled and threw her arms around his neck in a hug. “It’s for when you are
in the mountains with me…it can get cold up there and I wanted you to have
warmer clothes.” Koga’s cheeks turned pink as she continued to hug him. “Try
it on.”
“Now? Okay, I wi She She looked around to find
a good spot and rushed behind a thick group of bushes to begin changing. Koga
sat on their picnic fur pelt eating the last of the fruit when an all too
familiar scent wafted past his nose. Ha, dog boy is nearby, probably looking
for Kagome. I’ll give him something to worry about.
Kagome stepped out from behind the bushes
breaking Koga out of his thoughts. “Wow Kagome…yook…iok…incredible.” Koga
stumbled on his words as his eyes raked over Kagome’s slender and shapely body.
The fur she wore was dark gray, almost black accentuating her features. She had
calf and wrist fur cuffs like the ones Koga always wore with a short fur pelt
wrapped around her waist that fell low on her hips exposing her abdomen. The
top piece was made of fine leather and formed well to her chest and ribs with
thick straps across her shoulders. It was much more revealing than her school
uniform and she was surprised to see that she actually had cleavage.
“Koga, I love it so much! But I don’t know
what this thing is supposed to do.” Kagome held up an oddly cut thick fur
piece. He stood up to show her, “It is a wrap, an extra piece for very cold
weather.” Koga stood behind her and wrapped it over her shoulders. “See, you
clasp it here like this…” His hands lingered on her arms and he pulled her back
against his chest. “It can also double as a blanket. It is very warm…”
Oh he’s so strong and I love his arms around
me like this…I feel so flustered, and hot, yes very hot…but not from the pelt.
“Koga…this is so lovely, I cannot tell you how special it makes me feel
that you would honor me with your clan’s attire. You make me feel so
special…thank you.” Koga had closed his eyes, put his nose into her hair and
was sucking in her appealing scent. “You’re welcome my Kagome…I always want to
make you feel special because you are special.”
He helped her out of the fur coat and tossed it
to the ground before turning her around to face him. His arms grabbed her now
exposed waist to pull her close for a kiss. She settled against his body hungry
for the close contact, her arms snaked around his neck. Their kiss was soft and
gentle, like all the other ones that they had shared over the last few days.
Koga had been very respectful and never
pressured Kagome for anything more than a few innocent kisses. He knew that
everything would happen in time so he was in no rush, and he liked teasing her
because she did not hide her frustration well. He could also tell she was
anxious for more but wanted him to be the aggressor. However, he had made the
decision that nothing more would happen till she agreed to be his mate. He was
afraid his heart could not handle it if they were intimate and then she rejected
him as a life mate. He loved her more than she could imagine and these last few
days had only made his heart ache for the return of her love.
I smell Inuyasha, he’s very close now. I
hope he sees this. I’ll give him a show that he will wish he never saw.
Koga swiftly picked Kagome up in one movement and placed her gently on their
picnic blanket. They lay down next to each other and he pulled her partly on
top of him. Kagome wriggled around a bit before getting comfortable and leaned
her head down to resume their kiss. She attacked the kiss with full force
trying to let him know that she wanted more.
Inuyasha stood high up on a tree limb watching
the twuld-uld-be-lovers. Kagome…how…is he pushing himself on her? No…she
wants it, she’s on top, she’s kissing him, she wants him. Inuyasha gripped
the tree trunk digging into its bark with his claws. His heart was pained but
he could not take his eyes off them. Leave…don’t watch this, she’s free to
do what she wants, you have never offered her anything more than a friendship...
but he did not retreat.
Koga smiled knowing Inuyasha was watching the
passionate scene. To give him a better show he reached up to unhook the thick
straps holding her leather top up. Once those were released he easily removed
her bodice and playfully pinched a nipple before cupping her breasts with his
hands. Kagomened ned and rolled onto her back giving Koga better access, they
had never done anything but kiss and she was excited that he was progressing.
Upon seeing Kagome’s chest exposed to his
competition Inuyasha rushed out of the tree and landed a few feet from where the
couple lay. “KAGOME!” He was angry and not about to let that wolf keep
touching her. “AGHHH!” Kagome screamed scrambling to cover her chest.
“INUYASHA! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?” She yelled at him.
“ME? I SHOULD BE ASKING YOU THAT YOU LITTLE
LYING TRAMP!” Koga had stood up ready to fight if Inuyasha attacked him, but he
was smirking because he had gotten the best of the dog half-demon. “TRAMP?
TRAMP! SIT BOY!” Inuyasha thudded to the ground, oh shit, I forgot about
that…she can sit me!
busy here if you can’t tell.” Koga was amused by this way too much. Kagome
quickly found her school uniform shirt and pulled it over her head since she did
not know how to get back into the leather wolf top quickly. Inuyasha is
here, how embarrassing…I’m going to kill him for interrupting…oh the
nerve…tramp…TRAMP!
“Come on Kagome you’re coming with me.”
Inuyasha roughly grabbed her arm once he was able to stand up and started
pulling her away from Koga. Before he could blink Koga leapt in front of him
with his super fast legs, “Uh…where do you think you’re taking my woman mutt?”
“She’s not your woman! And she’s coming with
me if I have to slice you in half to get by.” Inuyasha growled and bared his
fangs, Koga merely laughed. “HEY, LET ME GO!” Kagome struggled against
Inuyasha’s powerful grip. “Why don’t you ask Kagome what she wants to do?”
Koga did not back down from Inuyasha but really wanted him to go away now and
leave him with his lovely Kagome.
“INUYASHA! LET ME GO! I want to stay with
Koga.” Inuyasha dropped her arm and spun around to look at her. “What? You
want to stay with this guy? Why?” Anger flared in her eyes, “What do you care
what I do? It’s none of your business, but I happen to love Koga!” Both
Inuyasha’s and Koga’s jaws dropped. She loves me? Koga was astonished.
“You…you…YOU LOVE HIM?” Inuyasha curled his
claws into fists. “What the hell is going on?” He was so confused and
clueless, when did all this happen, when did she fall for Koga, I didn’t even
notice? Inuyasha looked crushed; he let his hands drop out of their fists
and stared into her eyes. “Kagome?” His voice seemed small as he realized the
importance of what she had said.
She immediately felt bad when she saw the hurt
in his eyes. “Koga, do you mind if I talk to Inuyasha alone for a few minutes,
I need to explain this to him.” Koga nodded and raced off to a nearby lake
where he would wait by skipping stones on the water. He knew she had been
hesitant to tell Inuyasha because she did not want it to affect the quest of
searching for jewel shards.
Kagome tried to take Inuyasha’s hand but he
yanked it away. “Inuyasha…don’t be like this.” He turned his gaze away from
her, I don’t know how I feel…why am I so mad? No, I’m not mad, I’m sad.
“Don’t be like what? What are you doing with him Kagome?”
“Please understand…look at me.” He had been
avoiding her gaze but she wanted him to see her sincerity when she told him the
truth. Inuyasha huffed and forced himself to look at her. “Thank you.
Inuyasha, we have been traveling together for such a long time, you know I love
you. But, you would never allow yourself to love me back because of Kikyo. It
was so hard for me to accept that, but I finally did. And then I realized that
I had been blind the whole time…you were not going to give me a chance, you
couldn’t or wouldn’t, I don’t know which.” She paused because he had flinched
when she mentioned Kikyo; he knew he had hurt her in the past over the dead
priestess.
“I thought about how much I loved you and how
you kept me at bay…and then it hit me…I was doing the same thing to Koga. I
wasn’t giving him a chance because of you. I knew I had to at least give him a
chance, the chance I had dreamed you would give me…but you never did. I think
he’s amazing…and I’m glad I gave him the chance. I want you to know…I’m going
to agree to being his mate.”
THUD. Inuyasha fell to the ground when he
heard that, his legs gave out under him. “Oh Inuyasha, are you okay?” Kagome
sank to her knees next to him putting her hand on his head. “No, I’m noay, ay,
you just told me you are going to mate with that…that…Koga.” Inuyasha was so
flustered he could not even come up with a good name to call the wolf demon.
He sat up, shook his head hoping to get some
sense back in it, looked at her and sighed. “I need time to deal with this,
alone. But…I cannot blame you for what you did, you are right…I never gave you
the chance you deserved. Just reconsider, please…don’t be his mate.”
“Oh, do you want me to be your mate then?” Kagome questioned his
request.
“Uh…I didn’t say that…umm, I don’t know, ah
crap…just reconsider being his mate.” Inuyasha felt stupid, she’s right, if
I don’t want her to be Koga’s mate, I need ask her to be mine…but I can’t…
“Well then, I’ll think about reconsidering…”
Kagome rolled her eyes with no intention of changing her mind. Oh Inuyasha
you make me crazy! They stood up and she gave him a hug that he weakly
returned. “I’ll be back to the hut before dinner. Will you be there when I
arrive?” Kagome asked him as he retreated from their embrace.
“Probably, we have to actually go search for
jewel shards tomorrow. Your l dat dates have cost us almost a week of being
stuck in the village.” He quickly hid his emotions by acting like nothing had
happened. “I understand, we can leave in the morning. Oh and…you might need to
prepare for something.” Kagome was most nervous about telling him this little
tidbit.
“What’s that?”
“Um…If Koga becomes my mate, he might be
traveling with us quite a bit. You’ll have to learn to get along with each
other.” Inuyasha closed his eyes but showed no other sign of reaction. “I’ll
pretend you didn’t say that. I’ll see you at dinner.” With that he sprung
forward leaping and running back to the village.
“So you love me huh?” Kagome turned around to
see Koga leaning against a tree with a huge smile on his face and a single
flower in his hand. Kagome blushed and ran over to him. “Is this little flower
for me?” She kidded as he pulled her close for a quick peck on the lips. “Oh
I’m sorry, I brought it for Inuyasha.” He laughed at the confused expression on
her face. “Oh you’re joking!”
“So…how much did you hear of what I told
Inuyasha?” Kagome asked knowing both guys had super hearing ability.&n “Oh “Oh,
pretty much everything. I got bored skipping stones and decided to eavesdrop,
hope you don’t mind.” He lightly tickled her arms. “It’s okay, I’m not hiding
anything from you. Did you hear what I said about being your mate?”
Koga tried not to smile but he could not help
it. “Yes, I heard, but I want to hear you say it to me.” Kagome kissed the
back of his hand. “Koga. I have decided that I want to be your mate. I am in
love you with.” He responded with a passionate kiss nipping at her lips and
tongue with his fangs.
“And I am in love you Kagome…” He had managed
to get that out before she aggressively clung to him grinding her body into
his. Oh Kagome, you’ve made me so happy…so unbelievably happy.
