Boldly Going Nowhere

Chapter 2 Welcome To The Dimension Of Pain

Kagome gasped as she landed hard in the bottom of the well.
She looked up hoping to see the sky and trees of feudal Nippon; but instead all
she saw was the roof of the mini shrine. Kagome gasped as she tried to hold
back the soul shattering grief she felt from being separated from her life
mate.

Kagome took a deep breadth and scrambled up the rickety
ladder that her grandfather put in their for her use. When she got out of the
well Kagome jumped back in. The well just had to work. She had to get back to
the Shingoku Jidai. Her life mate was probably about ready to kill himself out
of grief. But instead of a blue glow surrounding her she hit the bottom of the
well. No that wasn't right she had to get back

The dam broke and her grief washed over her in waves. She
sank down onto her knees. Her chest became unbearably tight. Kagome threw back
her head and a soul-shattering scream broke the night.

Inside the house the snarling from the bottom bunk woke
Souta up. "What's wrong Ryuu-kun?"

In the bottom bunk a young dragon youkai was sitting up and
staring through the wall toward the mini shrine and the Bone-eaters well.style="mso-spacerun: yes"> "Somethin's wrong." Ryuu jumped out
of bed and quickly threw on a pair of baggy sweat pants with a hole cut in the
back for his tail and a baggy Black Sabbath tee. "Get dressed Souta.
Somethin's wrong with the bone-eaters well!"

Upon hearing that Souta promptly fell out of bed onto a pile
of Ryuu's dirty laundry with a loud THOOM.

"Quiet Souta!" Ryuu pulled the boy out of the
clothes and yanked a pair of shorts off of Souta's head. "We don't want to
wake up Asami-san and Jii-chan!" Ryuu snapped angrily. Something was very
wrong at the well and someone's heart what about to shatter from grief. It was
at times like these Ryuu hated being a telepath and an empath.

Soon as Souta scrambled into some clothes, he and Ryuu heard
a scream. Souta squeaked and ran behind him. "What was that Ryuu?"

Souta looked up at Ryuu when he started to act weird, but
what really worried Souta was when Ryuu whispered Kagome's name.
"What?!"

"That was Kagome. She's hurting." Ryuu grabbed a
hold of Souta and threw him onto his back, "Hold on Souta." Ryuu
opened the window and leapt out. Soon at his clawed hind feet hit the ground he
dashed off toward the well.

Ryuu dropped Souta roughly onto the ground in front of the
mini shrine, "Oof! Hey...!"

"Shut up!" Ryuu very quietly pressed his pointed
ear against the sliding door. All of a sudden he was over whelmed by heart
wrenching sobs. Ryuu quickly stepped back and wrenched open the door. The sobs
were echoing up the old well.

In between the sobs Ryuu could make out the same words over
and over, "He's gone he's really gone. I want him please. I wanna go
back." Ryuu spun around barking out a simple command to Souta, "Souta
go get Asami-san and Ji-chan." Souta stood their staring blankly at Ryuu.
"NOW!!" Ryuu practically roared at the boy.

Ryuu watched as the boy scrambled toward the house screaming
for his mother and grandfather. He turned around and walked down the steps
toward the old well. Once he got down there; he glanced in the well and sure
enough. Kagome lay down there crying, "Kagome, you okay?"

The sobs became even worse at hearing Ryuu's voice. Ryuu
climbed over the lip of the well and landed softly beside the once happy miko.
"Come on Kago," Ryuu bent over and picked Kagome up, "Let's get
you out of this damp well." Very gracefully Ryuu jumped out of the well
and landed on the edge gripping the wood with his hind claws. Ryuu gently
brushed her hair out of her face. Kagome flinched and buried her head further
into Ryuu's chest, her hands clutching the fabric of his tee. 'What did that
dog-eared dumb ass do to yah?' He looked up when the door was slid open by
Asami.

Asami looked at her daughter, who was clutching onto the
young dragon youkai. "Ryuu what happened?"

"I dun know?" Ryuu leapt off the well and went
outside, "I felt something wrong so I went to see."

Asami nodded she knew a little about Ryuu's mental
abilities. "And...?"

"And when I got there I saw her in the bottom of the
well crying her heart out." At that moment the wind shifted and Ryuu
smelled something odd radiating from Kagome. It smelled like Kagome had mated
with a dog demon but Ryuu's sense of smell was nowhere in the range of a dog
demons so he was unable to tell the difference between a hanyou and a full
blooded youkai. Which ever it was Kagome had mated with it, and that was part
of the heart break Ryuu felt.

"Ryuu come with me we need to get her inside."

A/N: Who wants to draw Ryuu? I’m going to handle his true
Youkai form. But I need someone to draw his human disguised form, and his
humanoid demon form. Right now he is around 15 years old. The only problem is
you have to be Good at drawing. I’m sorry I want my characters to look good.
They can be computer colored. The only thing is that the pics will be posted on
a different Website. And I don’t mean MM.org.
