The Temptress
A/N:As some of you may have noticed, I have pulled "Where The Serpant Lies" I did not recieve a great demand to continue writing it and I had several negative reviews, therefore..I had no need to continue the story. However, Please enjoy this one.
The insistant banging on the door announced that Kagome had arrived. Adokenai ran to the door and flung it open, jumping into Kagome's arms.
"AUNT KAGOME! YOU CAME!"
"Well of course I came. Why wouldn't I?"
Adokenai glanced over at Sesshomaru who had just walked into the room. Kagome looked up at him and quickly turned her head away.
"Adokenai, sweetheart, I would never pass up the chance to see my wonderful and only niece. Especially when she can see her two beautiful cousins!" Kagome smiled as her twin girls ran into the room and piled themselves onto Sesaru.aru.
"ALI! KARI! GIRLS! AHHHHHHHHH..NO! NEKAO! ADOKOKENAI! HELP!" he yelled playfully. Nekao and Adokenai were lauging so hard, they were down on the floor. Kagome laughed a bit and left the room. Sesshomaru motions for the girls to let him go. He got up and followed.
"Kagome, wait."
"What now, Sessh? You've done.........." Sesshomaru just shook his head and motioned for her to be quiet.
"I had some time alone today while Nekao and Adokenai were bathing, and I came to a realization."
"Oh? And what is that praytell?"
"That I was blaming you for what Rin did so I wouldn't have to blame myself."
"I don't understand.."
"I mean, I know now, that it's not your fault Rin left. She saw how I treated humans and was already upset about that, but when Nekao came into the picture, she couldn't take it. That's why she came to you. Can you ever forgive me?"
Kagome smiled.
"Of course. Apology accepted. Now tell me, Nekao was actually competition for Rin? I thought.."
Sesshomaru just nodded and laughed.
"Come on. I'll tell you the story." He walked out of the kitchen and into the sitting room.
"Ali, Kari come on..Uncle Sessh is going to tell us the story of how he met Aunt Neko." Kagome said
The girls sqealed and everyone gathered around him.
**********Flashback****************************
They stood on the edge of the small village. It seemed very busy and Rin ed aed almost scared to go in.
"Master, why are we here?" Jaken sqeaked.
"I want to see if it's true."
"If what is true, master?"
"I overheard that old medicine woman in Inuyasha's villiage. She said that there was a small village just over the mountains that was not only prosperous, but held a demon family. If it is true, I could use them to my advantage." Sesshomaru smirked and walked toward the village. Jaken and Rin had to almost run to keep up. As they entered, they were greeted by a small crowd.
"Welcome to Ie No Akurei." said an elderly woman.
Sesshomaru smirked.
So it is true.....he thought.
The small group walked to the end of the even smaller village. Composed of nothing more that a trade store and a few houses, it was easy to spot who was made of wealth and who had to starve from day to day. The demon family lived among the people, though they boasted of their earning. The home stood two stories tall, rare in this time and the tallest yet. Sesshoumaru walked toward the house and Rin banged the knocker. The door creaked open and a very homely elederly woman stood behind it.
"Yes?" she seethed, as if she were irritated.
Sesshomaru hushed Jaken and decided he would speak.
"I am looking for the one called...Nekao. I understand she has overwhelming powers."
The woman sighed and opened the door wider.
"Just a minute...NEKAO!!" She shrieked.
A tall, slender, and beautiful woman came down the stairs pausing at the bottom.
"Lord Sesshomaru..'tis an honor."
"You must be Neko. I understand you have powers beyond belief. I have come to ask for your help."
"Hm. And what might this favor you ask of me be?"
"I need you to marry my brother. He's in love with a human and I cannot allow that in my family."
"But, my lord, I am hanyou.."
"And so is he.."
"Then you have no need for me. He is allowed to love whomever and no powers on earth can change his mind. Now...leave."
As quickly as she had entered, she was gone............................
