Chapter Eighteen


Kagome felt her body tense up as they entered the city. The guards let her in recogizing her instantly. One ran as soon as she landed. Both boys were asleep. She wrapped the blankets closer around them and picked them up. They nestled their heads into her shoulders. Kirara transformed and walked beside her.

She continued to walk, hopefully she'd get a chance to talk to them before Sesshoumaru arrived. She could understand his concern but this was something she needed to do. Even though both men didn't care for her, they had children. A guard showed her into the room, informing her that both men would be down in a minute to speak to her.

Her heart stopped when the door opened and both men came in, neither looking happy. What had she expected? A warm welcome, they had both sent her away over three years ago. But it was no longer about her broken heart, it was about them.

Yomi spoke first, "You wanted to see us Kagome?"

"Yes, I need you two to do something for me. I plan on going to look for Naraku. I want to leave something very important to me in your care."

"I know you don't expect us to protect Lord Sesshoumaru's children while you two go hunt." Kurama sounded angry as he spoke. There was no doubt in his mind what she was holding. Seemed her and Sesshoumaru had been busy.

Her temper flared and she yelled waking both boys up in the process. "No, I don't. I expect you to protect yours."

His face fell at the comment, he shook his head no. Words failed him, he couldn't have sired a child with her. Yomi started laughing hysterically sensing his friend's discomfort.

"What are you laughing about? I expect the same from you as well."

His laughter stopped immediately. He tilted his head to the side, "What game do you play woman?"

"Boys, remove the blankets from your heads." Four little hands shot up as she placed them on their feet. "Now turn around for me."

"Why?"

"Kay Momma." Miroku turned around and looked at the two men, he pressed himself against her legs.

"Kohaku turn around please."

"Okay." The boy turned around looking at the two men also.

"Oh my," Kurama couldn't believe his eyes. "How? They are the same age are they not?"

"Yes, twins to be exact. Seems the day you both decided to discard me you both left me something to remember you by. Lucky me." Her voice was filled with sarcasm.

The door suddenly burst open and Sesshoumaru came storming in. He went straight for Kagome, anger filled his voice. "Why did you disobey me?"

"Because they had a right to know. No matter what they did to me, the boys are theirs. I understand your concern but you are not their father."

"Very well. If you want their interference then I can not stop you. Just know that after Naraku is destroyed, they will both answer to me." He stormed out leaving her standing there unsure of what to say.

The boys were holding onto her legs, neither knowing what to think. Kagome squatted in front of them and brought her hand up to cup their cheeks. "It's okay, Sesshoumaru is just a little upset. He still loves you." She knew both men were waiting to speak. "Say it?"

"Why weren't we told?" Yomi asked.

"You know why, don't ask me another foolish question or you'll piss me off. Don't forget I can kill you now." She threw his words back in his face and he flinched.

"Bad wor momma." Miroku grinned up at her trying to correct her.

"Yes, I said a bad word, sorry."

"Since your fathers won't introduce themselves, I'll do it." She grabbed their hands and walked forward. "Kurama, this is Kohaku your son. Yomi this is Miroku, your son."

Yomi was the first to move, he reached his hand out to touch the boy's face. His hand ran over the boy's forehead and then his ears. He only had two but they were shaped just like his father's.

Kurama didn't have to feel to know that the boy was truly his. He didn't have a tail but he was all fox and human. He went down on his knees in front of the child. The boy grinned at him, showing two small fangs in front. "I don't know what to say."

"You don't have to say anything. The only thing I want is for you two to help me keep them safe. Naraku will try to use them against me, I won't allow it." She looked down at her two children. Miroku was now mocking Yomi he had reached his small hands out to touch his father's face. "Is my old room available?"

"Yes, it is." Yomi answered her. "The others are in a meeting. There is food at the table if you want to feed them."

"Thank you, just show the way." She waited for them to lead the way. She noticed the stares she and the boys were receiving as they walked down the long hall. She followed them into two double doors into a room with a large table surrounded with chairs. A bunch of people were sitting around talking. All conversation stopped as the five entered.

"What the hell are those?" Hiei asked.

"Watch your mouth around them or I'll shut it up permanently." Kagome's voice stated she meant what she said.

Mukuro moved towards them and looked the two boys over. "Interesting, what was it a threesome?"

"No, it was not and it's none of your business." Kagome stated. The woman eyed her, so she returned the stare.

The woman broke out in laughter and leaned down. "Oh yeah, they are adorable. No doubt who fathered him. At least now Yomi can get rid of that clone he has running around."

Miroku smiled at the women taking a liking to her. Mukuro looked up at Kagome. "Do you mind?" After getting permission the woman picked the boy up and carried him over to the table.

Kohaku on the other hand stayed attached to Kagome, not letting go. She picked him up and took him to get something to eat.

"So she had a kid for both of you?" Yusuke blurted out. "I'd like to know how it happened."

Kagome slammed her hand against the table, "It's called sex, you should try it."

"Sez," Miroku mumbled with a mouth full of food.

"Oh, bad word." Kohaku told on his brother.

"Yes, I know he said it. Don't tattle on your brother." Kagome handed him some food hoping to preoccupy him. "Eat please."

"Kay." He took the meat and took his seat on his mother's lap watching all the people staring at him.

"Do you really insist on going after Naraku?" Kurama asked her.

"Yes."

"I don't think you should." Yomi filled in.

"Well, lucky for me I don't give a damn what you think."

"Ohhh."

"Shhh, eat your food." Kagome counted to ten, they were already causing her to lose her temper. She tried not to curse around her kids. She glanced over to her other, he seemed content in the other woman's lap. Hopefully he wouldn't take after his namesake. "We can discuss this later. I'm sure Sesshoumaru will be back after he calms down."

Both men nodded and both felt jealousy consume them. It was apparent from the way she spoke his name that she loved the man.
