The Races

Chapter 18

Sesshoumaru awoke with a start. Where the hell was he? Where was Kagome? Who was this person standing over him trying to… wake him up?

He looked down at the female starting to awake from her slumber. “Sir the plane is unloading now.” The female said.

‘Unloading? ... It was a dream, oh god it felt so real. “Sesshoumaru are we there?” Kagome asked as she stretched and stood up. “Come on Allyson is waiting for us.”

Sesshoumaru followed dumbly still in shock over that dream. When he snapped out of it he pulled Kagome to his side and held on to her. They exited and as soon as Kagome cleared the tunnel, she took off running and collided with whom Sesshoumaru assumed was this Allyson.

She stood about 5 foot 4, with long brown hair and blue eyes; her hair was pulled up into a ponytail. She wore a hoodie and jeans, the jeans had a tiger on the butt of them, ‘So unstylish.’ Sesshoumaru thought.

Kagome released the girl to lunge at the other girl standing there. The girl fell over with a “Gah!”

Once they were up again they were pulled over to Sesshoumaru. “Sesshoumaru this is Allyson and this is Heather.”

He nodded to each. Heather was dressed in black, her shirt was black long sleeve shirt that had a Japanese band, Dir en grey on it, and her pants were black with a pink dragon on the leg. But her shoes were pink and white checkered.

Kagome notice that something was wrong but didn’t mention it yet. In the back the back on Allyson’s car Kagome leaden her head on Sesshoumaru’s shoulder, through touch she could communicate telepathically.

“Fluffy, what’s wrong with my puppy?” He looked down at her and scowled until he said the sheer mirth in her eyes.

“This puppy has nothing wrong.”

“Look if I knew that you were going to be a stuck up jerk I would not have brought you.” Kagome said as she leaned away from him.

Sesshoumaru pulled her back to him, ‘Please don’t leave my side yet. I just don’t want your friends to get the wrong impression about me.’ He shot to her.

‘Aw, Fluffy, you don’t have to be nervous about my friends, they are really easy going, and they are not
going to persecute you for being you. Maybe the stuck up jerk you are being now but not for being the open, easy going Youkai I know you to be.’ Kagome sent back as she snuggled into his arm.

“So Kagome, how long have you been with that God?” Ally asked gestering towards Sesshouamru.

“Oh a couple of weeks.” Kagome stated.

“A couple of weeks and you are already bringing him home, wow he must work fast.” Ally Said as she looked in the rear view mirror, and winked at Sesshoumaru.

Sesshoumaru rolled his eyes, some how he knew that Ally was joking, but Kagome caught the wink and jumped up and started yelling at Ally.

“Geez, Kagome, Ally was only joking.” Heather came to the defense of Ally.

“I know but it was the insinuation behind the comment.” Kagome said as she blushed.

“Come dear we should not hide the fact that you scream my name.” Sesshoumaru said baiting, trying to get her to get her to blush redder.

Inadvertently it didn’t work. Kagome just smirked, “Of course I did and you whimpered, moaned, and groaned from my ministrations as well.” Kagome said as she turned to him and trialed a hand down his clothed chest to his crouch.

There she grasped him lightly, causing him to growl low in her ear as he leaned over, “If you do not plan to continue what you start I would stop now, Kagome.”

“Perhaps I wish to strip you naked and have you dance for my friends and I.” Kagome said back.

“I would not be opposing to that.” Allyson said.

Sesshoumaru blushed, and Kagome released him. ‘Damn her.’ He thought.

“Well kiddies let’s get this show on the road my mom is waiting for us and if you decide to strip I think we will all molest you and well mom will get worried If you take to long.” Heather said.

“We are staying your house to night, right?” Kagome asked.

“Yeah then tomorrow night you go to Allyson’s house, thought you will not be able to sleep in the same room, her mom is like a fricken nun.” Heather joked, but the sad thing was that it was true.

“How long until we arrive at your home?” Sesshoumaru asked.

“Oh about a half hour of so, so you can relax I swear I will not kill you, to tell you the truth they are always saying that I drive to slow.” Heather said.

“Hn.” Was his reply until Kagome elbowed him in his side. “I see. Well as long as we arrive alive that is all I could want.”

They fell into a comfortable silence until Kagome recognized the setting then she started telling stories about each place with the help of the two girls. “Oh and there is where we beat the hell out of the gang of boys you remember that Ally?”

This went on the rest of the way to the house and Sesshoumaru listened intently, he wanted to learn as much about Kagome as possible. He didn’t grow up with her so he didn’t have that experience of knowing all the little things about her younger years.

But, neither did these two, I mean Kagome only spent the last four years with them so still he missed
out on her childhood embarrassments that he could use against her now.

“We’re here.” Was heard and he shook out of his daze.

“You ok?” Kagome asked.

He nodded his head and they got out of the car. “Kagome.” Was heard shouted from the door, and Kagome just smiled and walked to the front door to the house. “Well look at you still in one piece.”

“You are looking well.” She said to the women, “And you as well Fred.” The male just grunted. Kagome was use to it from both him and Sesshoumaru. “This is Sesshoumaru the guy I have been telling Ally about and she was to pass the Information along. So did she?”

At the nod, Sesshoumaru shook both of their hands. ‘It’s a good thing I studied English for all those years.’ Being Japanese he would not have been in the U.S. a lot if not for the fact that is father had been sending him there for some years now doing business deals.

Over the next couple of days it continued to go like that, one day at one friend’s house then switch, until finally the ended up with Kouga as Kagome’s old home after about a week.

“Sesshoumaru, Kouga wants us to go out and have dinner with us.” Kagome said from the door to the bathroom, she stood clad in nothing but a towel and he was fighting so hard to not frisk her.

“What kind of restaurant, I hope not Burger King.” He inwardly laughed at his own joke but dared not laugh out loud incase Kagome didn’t like it. Was he afraid of his own girlfriend? Hell Yes he was. She could purify him a new ass off if she so wanted to. But it’s not like he was going to tell her all that.

“Ha, ha, ha. Very funny.” She said sarcastically. “No, he is taking us to Chez Moi. It’s very fancy and French so shut it. Now come on get ready.”

They were ready, and dressed in cocktails, by six when Kouga sent the car to pick them up. He didn’t come because he was finishing up at work but was going to meet them their. Hell, he was closer to the restaurant so he would probably arrive before they would any way.

Kagome had on a black with blue trim cocktail dress on and Sesshoumaru chose to wear a white suit with a black under shirt with a blue tie to match Kagome.

When they arrived they were met with a very stuck-up host named Jack, but he pronounced different. “Do the two of you have a reservation?” he asked, his voice was very nasally.

“Yes, Kouga Higurashi.”

“You, Madame, do not look like a male and he is most certainly not Kouga be cause I personally know him. Why don’t you go down the street to Ponderosa.”

“Listen you ass, if you know Kouga so well, you would know that he has a sister and that I am her now take me to my brother before I clobber you.” Kagome threatened.

“Oh man Kagome, still causing a seen.” Kouga said. He had approached when he had heard her raised voice. “It’s ok Jack this is my sister Kagome.” With that he spun and the other two followed.

“The nerve of that guy.” Kagome ranted.

“Kagome you should calm down he was just doing his job.” Kouga said.

“He is right you know Kagome.” Sesshoumaru said in agreement.

“Great now you’re both against me.” She steamed.

When they got to the table Sesshoumaru held her chair and pushed her in. Once they ordered Kagome stood. The males standing as well, “I am going to the ladies room I will be right back.” With that she was gone.

“Sesshoumaru I wish to talk to you while she is gone.” Kouga said very seriously.

Sesshoumaru nodded. “Of course, I am sure being her brother and all you would have some concerns.”

Kouga nodded, “Well first thing is first, I am not sure if you have smelled it or not but Kagome and I are not really related, we probably smell a lot a like because we were around each other for so long.”

Sesshoumaru sat in silence, he knew that there was something that was different about their scents that he couldn’t pin point. He nodded to let him know that he could continue.

“When I was little, Krane and his first wife adopted me because she was sterile and could not have pups, and so I was a wolf demon pup without parents and they were wolf demons with out pups so there was no big difference,” He paused, “Well, when she died and he re-mated I came along and Kagome doesn’t know any different. But when we were younger I would watch over her when she was allowed to come home and visit, I realized then that we were not really brother and sister.” He paused and looked up from the table to Sesshoumaru, “I realized that this feeling that I had for her was ok, but not because we were raised as brother and sister.”

Sesshoumaru had a feeling he knew where this was going, “So I swore then that I would always protect her and if she needed or wanted any thing I would give it to her. When she grew up more and came home, we grew closer and that feeling inside me grew bigger. She depended on me, for everything from convincing dad she was not a prostitute to which guys she dated. I knew that Kagome would have expensive tastes and I worked hard and grew in knowledge so that Krane would pass the company to me. And he did when he passed away.” Kouga gave a chuckle, “I never really planned to tell you all that, but I guess what I am trying to say is that…”
