Chapter 18: Names
Kagome smiled to herself as she walked upstairs to get dressed. She was so very happy that she was once again a part of a family. She missed her own, and in a small way mourned the loss of Kikyo, but she knew that her new family cared as much, if not more for her as her own used to.
She sighed, as she pulled out her jeans and a t-shirt as well as another pair of lacy panties with a matching bra in light pink. ‘How would Sesshomaru react to this matching set?’ she wondered lecherously. She knew what she wanted to do to her mate right then. She wanted for him to take her on the table when he kissed her, and she had felt a matching need in him at that time.

“So, that means that humans have had the jewel and are possibly protecting it from everyone.” Kagome reasoned as she got on her clothes.
* Hai, so it would seem. Or, the people that have the Shikon do not know what it is, only that it is a nice shiny bauble that was found many years ago. *
“So, where shall we begin our search? You said that the jewel was hidden here, on the shrine grounds once. Maybe there is a clue or some type of vibration there that may help in steering us in the right direction to finding this jewel.” Kagome suggested.
* Hmm … it is an idea, and any idea is better than none. I heard from the Kami’s that it had been hidden near a well, or a really old tree. Is there such a place here? * Her beast asked.
Kagome thought for a moment. “There is this old well not too far from the main house, as well as an old God-tree here on the grounds. Which do you think hid the jewel?”
* It could be either. But as we get near to its original hiding place, I figure we will know which it is. * She replied.
“Hmm … well we should go now to find out, ne?” Kagome said, gung ho on finding the jewel. She was on her way out the bedroom door when her beast stopped her.
* Hold on! You are newly mated! Don’t you think that you should tell your mate what is going on, never mind that you chose to become a demon? Not stay human? I think that he has earned that right, ne? * Her beast reasoned.
Kagome hung her head in shame for a moment. “Hai. You are right. He does deserve to know. But I would rather tell him after Yasha leaves.”
* Than wait. Go down stairs and get to know your new family, and help them to heal their wounds. Be the Miko you were destined to be. Just don’t forget to hide your appearance. * And with that, her beast slid into the background of her mind.
“Wait. What do you mean ‘be the miko I was destined to be’? Hey. Get back here!” Kagome demanded. She heard a slight chuckle come from within her mind. ‘Ugh! Blasted beast is as stubborn as me!’ She paused on her way down the stairs, shaking her head. ‘Of course her beast would have traits like her own, she was after all a part of her.’ she thought wryly as she continued down the stairs slowly. ‘It could get really confusing calling her ‘her’ all the time. ‘Hey!’ she shouted in her mind. ‘Do you have a name?’
Kagome felt her beast rise out a bit.
* No. But we can decide on a name for you to call me. * She replied.
‘Do you have a preference? Any name that you would care to be called?’ She asked.
* None. Name away. *
‘OK, how about Usagi? Or Kimi? Or Sakura? I like Sakura best. What do you think?’ Kagome asked.
* Hmm … Sakura, I like that one as well. So Sakura I am named. Thank you Kagome. * She said as she retreated back into Kagome’s mind.
‘You’re welcome, my new friend.’ Kagome replied.
When she walked into the kitchen she got the surprise of her life!
