Frightful Flight

A/N: Thanks for all the reviews. I couldn't get on the computer or I would have updated sooner. I know your gonna be pissed to here this, but I'm going on vacation. I have spring break now. I will try to update once at least, but what's a girl to do when she doesn't have any access to a computer and is going to Hawaii. I again thank all who reviewed. See you soon. "Let's go to bed." she was tired, but at the moment it was being able to be held in his arms, where she felt so right, that compelled the word from her mouth. He seemed to read her eyes, or expression, or perhaps her heart itself and lifted her prepared to carry her and soothe her all night. Anything for the one he loved....

Chapter Seventeen

Kagome woke up from a nightmare. Her body was dripping with sweat. She sat up straight panting. She felt a hand on her shoulder and jumped. Inuyasha clicked on a light and gave her a worried glance.

"What's wrong Kagome?" Inuyasha had been in a peaceful sleep, the ones he only got if Kagome was in his arms, when Kagome jerked from his arms, awakening him.

"Nothing go back to sleep". She was trying very hard to stay calm. She took in her surroundings trying her best to get her heartbeat back to normal. The well polished cheery wood walls and floors were gleaming in the dim light of the lamp on the nightstand. She nearly skyrocketed again when she felt arms encircle her, pulling her down to comfort.

"It was a nightmare I'm guessing. I don't blame you. You've had a hard night, but get to sleep or you'll be even bitchier than usual." Inuyasha was trying to lighten the mood. He nipped her neck affectionately hoping to calm her in a gentle way. It worked fairly well, for she settled against his chest.

Twenty minutes past, but Kagome couldn't seem to find the sleep she seeked. She twisted her hips and tried to find a better position. Inuyasha cracked open an eye and gave a low growl. It was a possessive one that attempted to make her submissive. Kagome stopped struggling for a few more minutes, but then began to fidget again.

Inuyasha was getting very hard very quick. "Damn it bitch stop wriggling." Kagome gave him a very annoyed look, but didn't stop. Enough was enough for the hanyou and he swung a leg over her and pushed her wrists above her head.

Kagome met his intense gaze and knew she should have stopped. That though quickly left as he started to place soft kisses down her neck. She had been so enraptured of her thoughts earlier she couldn't find solace. Her thoughts became clouded as she became very aroused and the once troublesome thoughts fled to the farthest reaches of her mind.

Inuyasha kissed his way down to the shirt she was wearing. It was pink and had red hearts all over it, it was sleeveless and Rin's. Tugging at the hem of the tank top Inuyasha pulled it clear over her head and it landed by the door. He trailed a line of open mouthed kisses to her braless breast. He sucked on her left breast, while massaging the other. His tongue gave a lengthy stroke over her already perk nipple and he pulled it lightly with his teeth, teasing her to no end. He made his way over to the other his tongue caressing the valley between her breasts.

Kagome was putty with every touch and stroke of the tongue. His hands were pulling down her panties, which were all she had on. She fisted her hands in his hair and let him torture her with slowly building pleasure. She needed to feel his skin. Kagome reached down and yanked off his t-shirt. He stopped momentarily to help her get it off. She gazed at him and she became extremely wet.

Inuyasha kissed his way down her navel and his hands spread her lush and creamy thighs. The aroma of her arousal was so intense he nearly lost himself. He licked teasingly over her soaked passage and then thrust his tongue in. Kagome shouted loudly in pleasure and once again fisted her hands in his hair. He made small circles with his tongue and thrust it in. She was on the edge. He reached for her bundle of nerves and massaged it with his finger. There was an immediate response. Her walls tightened and she came into his mouth. He drank all she had to offer and made his way back up her body.

Kagome was still in her state of ecstasy when she felt Inuyasha lean over to the nightstand draw and withdraw a condom. He rid himself of his boxers and his painfully throbbing arousal stood at a tension. Kagome watched with hazy eyes and she centered himself and kissed her. Just as his tongue entered her mouth he slammed into her. She moaned loudly and clamped her hands onto his ass. His own hands roving over every inch of her as though to memorize everything about her.

Inuyasha couldn't hold out when he looked over at Kagome, while putting on the condom. She looked so fucking gorgeous. Her hair spread around her and sexy eyes watching him. When he kissed her he couldn't help, but slam into her with great force. It truly amazed him at how tight she was. He murmured naughty things in her ear as he pumped faster, in reply to her pleas.

Kagome felt herself begin to coil tighter. When he kissed her once more before thrusting with almost bone shattering hardness she came. She screamed his names to the heavens and lights exploded. The same moment she came he emptied himself into the rubber constriction. His shout was drowned out though by hers and then something happened.

Images flashed through both their minds. A small girl with long raven tress in school. Then another different image, one of a silver haired boy in a park. They saw pictures or rather memories of the past then one they didn't recognize. It was Kagome and Inuyasha and they were fighting against a demon with long tentacles and Kagome was struck. A tentacle made its way straight through her stomach. The sword that was in Inuyasha's hand that he’d been fighting with fell to the ground as he caught her. The vision ended and Inuyasha collapsed next to Kagome.

There was a long silence before either dared to speak. "What was that? I recognized the memories to be mine and assumably yours, but-" she was cut off by a tear drop on her face. Inuyasha was hugging her tightly to him and silent tears fell on her face.

"Inuyasha?" Kagome felt his hold on her tighten and she embraced him in a comforting hold.

"I love you." the words left his mouth and the sincerity in them made Kagome struggle with her own emotions. 'What just happen?' She looked up at Inuyasha and felt more tears fall as he kissed the top of her head looking off into space. 'He really loves me. I didn't believe him before, but now....I love him too.' She shushed him as he cried and held him tight stroking his ears in a way to soothe him as he had soothed her hours before.

"I....I...I love you too. Calm down now. It was just a flash it's not real. I'm right here and you're here to protect me. Calm down." he stopped crying, but his iron grip held fast. He pulled her into the covers and cradled her.

'She's the most important thing to me. I haven't cared, let alone loved, anyone since my mother died. She can't die. If that dream was real then I have to protect her. She's mine. No one will hurt her. No one.' Inuyasha hadn't cried since his mother's funeral and even then it was a few tears, but to watch his Kagome be struck down and he could do nothing was too much. His heart ached with the familiar pain of lose, as if, even though she was here he could lose her at any moment and that thought scared him to death.

Kagome's own thoughts were dwelling on the flashes that came back to haunt her. She saw the demon, whose face was blurred and unseeable and felt the pain of the tentacle going through her. It had felt real and the fear that it had instilled in her was not fleeting. Kagome's only reason for not breaking down with agonizing pain and fear was Inuyasha. The revelation he loved and needed her as she did him was enough to stabilize her mental state.

Glancing at the clock she realized it was three a.m and they needed sleep. She reached up and massaged his ears. When he was purring with content and sleep overtook him, Kagome snuggled into his bare form for, hopefully, sleep.

KNOCK! KNOCK! There was a banging on the door and Kagome partially opened her eye. She heard it again and decided to get up. She would have succeeded to if the protective arm around her waist would have given way. Shaking Inuyasha awake she pried herself from him and grabbed some sheet to wrap around her, making her way to the solid wood door.

"Good morning Kagome, or should I say afternoon." Rin grinned big and then she noticed the sheet wrapped around the unkept looking girl. Peering over her should she saw Inuyasha lying in bed with barely any covers over his more private areas. "I'm interrupting?" she asked with a perverted smirk that didn't seem quite right on her child like face.

"No. Ummm...we were just waking up actually. Why don't you go downstairs and I'll meet you in a few?" Rin nodded with a knowing smile.

Kagome shut the door and when she turned around Inuyasha was watching her. She began to pick up the scattered clothes and tossed Inuyasha his shirt, which he caught with ease. She pulled on the heart tank and realized her panties were on the bed behind Inuyasha. She walked over and when she leaned in for them, he pulled her down against him.

"Inuyasha let me up. Rin's waiting." Kagome fussed for a few moments, but he kissed her to get her to stop.

"What are you planning on doing today Kagome?" she looked into his enchanting amber eyes and practically sighed a loved crazed sigh.

"Rin and I are going shopping at the mall on 53rd street. Why?" it was a dumb question she knew, but wanted to get it out.

"Because I'm going with you." It was a statement obviously not up for discussion, but then again Kagome wasn't one to give up.

"You and Sesshomaru have a meeting remember. You told me before we went to sleep. Besides I can't get hurt in a public place and I'm miko I can protect myself. Now before you say anything else don't forget Rin wasn't there in the mall, but you were." Inuyasha had tried to cut in on the one sided argument, but she had won fair and square so he gave a 'keh' and started to dress.

*1 hour later*

Rin and Kagome were walking out hot topic and headed for ice cream. That morning Rin had dragged Kagome from Inuyasha and they'd driven off in a blue Ferrari. They had spent the good part of forty minutes in hot topic and came out with four bags each. Rin stepped up to the ice cream cart in the middle of the mall and ordered a double scoop of chunky monkey and a triple scoop of coffee flavored for Kagome.

After paying the rude pimply faced youth ten bucks and change they waltzed around window shopping. "So Kagome you and Inuyasha talk last night?" an innocent question to the naive.

Crimson graced Kagome's cheeks as she looked the other way. "Not really no. Just didn't sleep much." Rin grinned at Kagome's embarrassment and continued to drag on through the mall, while giggling about their social lives. They didn't even notice the figure following them in the masses of people.

As they exited the mall a black corolla pulled up and the hidden figure shoved Kagome into the, but she grabbed onto the sides and Rin pulled at his back. The assailant went flying into a pillar in front of the mall. People screamed and drew back. The person again lunged forward grabbing and forcefully throwing poor Rin into a pillar. The person all in black with a mask to match hit Kagome in a weak point were she was still bruised and she gave. She tumbled into the car and hit her head against the window, which cracked into hundreds of pieces, but still held together.

The car sped off out of the place as men rushed to help Rin, who was unconscious on the ground, having hit her head on a pillar. People called an ambulance and the police. The scene was soon surrounded by the media and Rin was lifted onto a stretcher and rushed to the nearest hospital with a sever head wound.
