last time…
Kagome registered everything Sesshoumaru just said.
“That doesn’t make any sense.”
“That, Kagome, is the problem. And I know a way that you could figure out the answer. But it would be dangerous.”
“Will it help Kyoko?”
He nodded.
She thought for a moment. “I’ll do it. Just tell me what it is.”
Naraku…
“This is all falling into plan. All of them are leading her right into my trap, even the one deceiving her most.”
Naraku laughed as he watched in Kanna’s mirror.
THIS TIME!!!!!
“So you’re saying I have to try and enter Inutaisho’s mind?!”
Sesshoumaru nodded. “You are the only one who is able to, besides my mother. You have a bond to the shard currently in his heart.”
Kagome sighed. “So how is this dangerous?”
“For two reasons. One, if he discovers you, then you can be in great danger. Two, if you do not get back in time, your body may not be able to take the strain. This has never been attempted by a human. You could die.”
“…” Kagome thought for a moment, but then she decided. “Its worth a try. I will do it.”
“Fine, just don’t tell Inuyasha I am letting you do this. Nor should you tell my mother.”
Kagome nodded.
She followed him to a room underground, that automatically lit with candles. There were scrolls everywhere, potions, and jewels.
“Wow…”
He shut the door behind them quietly.
He went over to a shelf and took down a potion. It was silvery blue, and when he took the cap off, it smoked a blue smoke.
“You have to drink this Kagome.” He said to her.
Her eyes widened. “Does it taste bad?”
He raised an eyebrow, like that was one of the stupidest questions ever.
“First, you must lie down, then drink this. If you drink it while standing the potion will poison your blood and you will die. You must not move until it takes effect, and you cannot talk, or even open your eyes. The pain will be horrible, as the potion separates your mind from your body. You will fall into a deep sleep, and you will see into his mind, almost like your mind was connected to his. Are you ready to attempt this?”
She blinked. “Umm…okay?”
She layed down on the futon in the room, closing her eyes and laying straight out as he told her. He then poured the potion down her throat.
She felt like she was going to die. The pain was unbearable, and the taste was so horrible, she could barely breathe.
“Sesshouma—.”
“Kagome do not talk.”
She tried to hold in a scream of pain, as her body tried to fight off the potion. Tears fell from her closed eyes, and she struggled to stay still. But suddenly, she felt as if she was falling. Everything seemed to fade away, and she felt no pain any more…
Kyoko…
“Hey Kyoko wait!”
Kyoko turned around. Inuyasha caught up to her. She turned and started walking again.
“Kyoko, can you just listen to me?!”
She growled. “And why should I?”
“JUST LISTEN!”
She turned around to face him. “WHAT?!”
He calmed down. “Kyoko, why do you hate me so much?”
She sighed and looked up at the sky. “Inuyasha, it is not you I hate, it is the half of you, that carries the blood of the one who betrayed me, and the other half, of the one who he gave me up for.”
“That isn’t my fault.”
“But Inuyasha, can you blame me?”
He thought for a moment. “I guess not. But could you try to be a little nicer sometimes?”
She nodded. Then she walked away again.
Kagome…
Kagome couldn’t feel her body. It was as if she were dreaming. But she knew what she had to do. She concentrated, and suddenly, she could see.
She was shocked at everything she saw. It was obviously the right mind though. So she concentrated some more, and saw many of his memories, that held Kyoko.
Then she stopped, as she saw one that she did not expect. Inutaisho was walking into the weopons room where Kyoko died, and grabbing her knife, from the shelf.
‘But she used that knife to kill herself…’
Then Inutaisho moved. He ran upstairs to another hall, where Kyoko was walking out of her room, upset slightly.
“Inutaisho, I—“
He shoved a sword through her heart! Then Kagome watched in shock as he wrote her suicide letter, and covered her knife in her blood, and brought it to the weapons room. She watched as he went by Sesshoumaru, and knocked him out cold, as well as Jaken, and put a spell on them both.
‘but why wouldn’t they remember that? Unless—he changed all of their memories!’
He then brought Kyoko’s body to the weopon room, and layed her there with the knife in her hand. And with her suicide letter. He also put a spell on her.
‘Incase she ever woke up…’
Suddenly Kagome was feeling pain again, and felt as if she was being pulled.
Suddenly, she woke up on the floor. She sat up quickly, breathing heavily.
“Kagome what did you find?” Sesshoumaru asked.
She told him everything she saw, and he was shocked.
“How could he…mother didn’t kill herself, she was killed!”
“But then…” Kagome thought for a moment. “What if he tries to kill her again before he has to leave?!”
“We have to warn her.”
Kyoko…
Kyoko looked up as Inutaisho walked in.
“Kyoko…”
She stood. Then she looked out the window, and saw that the Sun was setting.
She turned to him with tears in her eyes. “No!”
He shut the door and held her in his arms. “Kyoko I wish I didn’t have to go, but you know that if I stay longer, you will die. You need this shard to stay alive”
“I don’t want you to leave again!” She cried.
“You can come with me…if you want…”
She looked up at him confused, then looked at the knife in his hand. It was hers.
She backed away. “How did you get that?”
“I borrowed it…after all…the spell works the best with the knife you were killed with” He walked towards her.
Her eyes widened as he said that…
*flashback*
Kyoko walked out of her room upset. She looked up as she saw Inutaisho walking towards her.
“Inutaisho, I—“
She fell to her knees as he stabbed the knife through her heart.
*end flashback*
“You…”
‘He killed me…I remember….’
She backed up, making it seem like she was backing away in fear. She backed up to the shelf as he walked very close to her.
She grabbed a knife from behind her and said,
“Inutaisho, you fooled me once, but memories can return!”
She stabbed the knife through HIS heart instead, and he fell dead, with a look of pure agony on his face.
She fell to her knees, and began to cry. She took the shard back to her heart, and his body dissappeared, blood and all, leaving behind both knives.
“Inutaisho, you killed me for a human woman, and that…that was your mistake…I will not be fooled by your lies, ever again.” She wiped her eyes, the sadness fading and relief taking over.
She looked up as Sesshoumaru and Kagome burst into the room.
“Mother—what happened?”
She smiled. “I was just a fool, I believed him. Sesshoumaru, he killed me…and now I’ve returned the favor.”
Sesshoumaru sighed in relief.
‘Father…I thought you were so noble. Falling for that human was bad enough, but killing your own mate for her…that was your downfall.’
Kagome sighed. “I guess that’s over.”
Kyoko nodded. “I guess so.”
