Dancing Blades, Silks, and Sakura Blossoms
Epilogue
InuYasha, Sesshomaru and Miroku were a trio of nerves as they sat in the sitting room of the western palace. Jin and Kouga were gloating, for they had already experienced this once already.
“This is the most fun I’ve had in a while,” Kouga declared.
“Shut up, wolf!” InuYasha snapped.
Jin laughed and shook his head. “Well, can you blame us? This may be the only time we see the three of you, simultaneously in such a state. Unless, of course, this becomes a pattern.”
Three heads snapped up and then looked to each other, fear clearly written on their faces. “You don’t think?” Miroku asked out loud.
“Kami, no. With the way you and Sango go at it, there wouldn’t be a chance for all three of them to have this happen again,” InuYasha said.
Jin chuckled. “I don’t know, InuYasha, all three of you seemed quite frisky.”
Sesshomaru glared at Jin. “You are not helping.”
Jin smiled. “I wasn’t trying to help.”
“I noticed.”
Suddenly, the doors to the sitting room opened and a very exhausted Kaede, Kagura and Suriko walked into the room. “It is done,” Kaede said sagely.
Miroku, InuYasha and Sesshomaru were blurs out the door as they ran to their mates. All three women lay on futons in one of the larger guest rooms. Each looked equallyinedined and held at least one bundle in their arms. Miroku slowly approached his wife, in fear that she may kill him as promised. Sango glanced to him and beamed happily. “Miroku, meet Kei and Kaji, your children.”
Miroku was in shock as she pulled back on the corners of the blanket that she held, revealing two small faces. He glanced to Sango and then to the small wriggling bundles. He then smiled to Sango and took a seat next to her, pulling her in his arms and kissing her.

InuYasha moved beside his mate. Yumi was glowing more than usual. She then locked her sparkling blue eyes with his amber ones and turned so he could see the child in her arms. “InuYasha, I present to you, your daughter,” she said as she then looked down at the small bundle in her arms that was attached to her breast.
InuYasha looked at the small girl with curiosity. She had what looked to be black puppy fuzz on the top of her head. Gently he touched her tiny hand with his finger. Immediately, the infant grabbed him and pulled away from her meal. He then watched as she opened her gold eyes to him and he swore he could see her smile as he noticed the pair of black ears against her skull. He then glanced back to his mate. “What is her name?”
Yumi smiled. “That is for you to decide,” she said as she, gently, handed the infant to him.
“You sure?” he asked softly as he cradled the child in his arms.
“I believe you are competent enough to name your daughter,” Yumi grinned as her eyes began to droop.
InuYasha placed a chaste kiss on his mate’s lips. “Rest, koi.”
Yumi sighed as she let her exhaustion take over. As she drifted off her last image was InuYasha and their daughter at the window sill, bathed in the silver glow of the full moon.

Sesshomaru watched as his brother and the monk interacted with their mates and their pups. He then noticed Kagome, who had situated herself in his lap, was doing the same. “We did good, setting those guys up,” she said.
Sesshomaru nodded and then looked over her shoulder to their own pup. “Did you name him?” he asked.
Kagome nodded. “Tao.”
Sesshomaru rested his head atop Kagome’s and watched as Tao slept peacefully. ‘Tao, my son and heir.’
Kagome smiled and just let Sesshomaru’s warmth surround her. She was blissfully happy at this moment. She then smiled. Had anyone told her that her first born would have been with Sesshomaru, she would have laughed. Now, she couldn’t imagine a future without her stoic taiyoukai. She sighed. She wished her family was here, but the well no longer worked with the Tama gone. Kagome smiled wider. She couldn’t wait for 500 years to pass. Then, she could show her new family off to her mother, grandfather and Souta.
Kagome looked over to where InuYasha was trying to decide a name for his daughter. “Hey, InuYasha?”
InuYasha looked up and locked eyes with Kagome. “What?”
“Did you decide to give her a name yet?”
InuYasha nodded. “Sakura.”
“Sakura?”
“Hai, Yumi loves sakura blossoms, and this one smells like them.”
Kagome grinned. “Oh InuYasha, Yumi was right, you are softer than a newborn kitten.”
Sesshomaru snickered, which caused all those that were conscious to look at him in amazement. Kagome then giggled. “Sheesh, guys, it’s like you’ve never heard him laugh before.”
InuYasha raised an eyebrow. “Kagome, only you have ever heard him laugh. Until now, I didn’t think he was capable,” he said as he walked over to the futon Yumi was asleep upon.
Kagome smiled as she watched InuYasha lie next to Yumi and placed Sakura between them. She then looked over to where Miroku and Sango lay with their twins. This was her family now and ever more. She noticed that Jin and Kouga were watching this from the doorway and raised an eyebrow. “Shouldn’t you two be with your mates?”
“Didn’t want to miss Sesshomaru showing emotions again. There are so few instances,” Jin laughed.
Kouga shook his head, Jin was a regular comedian. He then grabbed the Eastern taiyoukai out of the room, while sending his congratulations to the couples. Kagome rolled her eyes as she handed Tao over to a servant to take him to the nursery. She then snuggled into Sesshomaru’s embrace and slowly drifted off into sleep. As the warm darkness enveloped her she heard Sesshomaru speak.
“Ai shiteru, Kagome.”
