Sesshomaru and the Forgiving Soul

Chapter 16:



Kagome walked through the halls of the palace thinking once again about the book.



‘Maybe I should give it to Sesshomaru and let him read it. Does he already know about the mikos who mated with demons?’ As Kagome was walking by a door she heard yelling and stopped to listen.



“You worthless piece of cloth! Just stay where you are put and I won’t have to worry about redoing the stitches again!” Kagome chuckled and opened the door. Sitting behind a large table was a rabbit demon. She was full figured and had long pale brown hair pulled back into a low ponytail. She wore a red kimono with black and silver accents. She looked up from the fabric she was fighting with and scowled at Kagome.



“What do you want?” Kagome smiled warmly.



“Tankia?” Tankia nodded without replying. “I’m here to talk to you about clothes for the ball.” Tankia’s scowl deepened as she studied Kagome.



“Only the lord of the palace is attending the ball.” Kagome smiled warmly before bowing slightly to the demon.



“My name is Kagome. Sesshomaru-sama told me to speak to you about kimonos for myself and two others.”



“And why would a human be going to the annual Lord’s Ball?” Kagome’s smile faltered at the question.



“Sesshomaru-sama…. I’m… I have no idea exactly what’s going on to be honest. Sesshomaru-sama indicated that I was to make an appearance at the ball.” Tankia put the fabric she was working on down and stood. She walked over to Kagome and studied her forehead. Tankia gently placed a finger on the Mark before lowering her hand again.



“Who are you?” Tankia asked in a whispered tone. Kagome frowned at the question.



“My name is Kagome. I am protector of the Shikon-no-tama.” Tankia gasped and backed up a step.



“You are the one.”



“What are you talking about?” Tankia shook her head and went back to the stool she was sitting on earlier.



“You are a miko?” Kagome nodded. “You are Lord Sesshomaru’s guest. Lord Sesshomaru has informed the staff here that he had chosen a mate. If you are here at my lord’s request you must be her.” Kagome nodded.



“He told me that he wants to mate with me, yes.”



“He plans on introducing you to the other lords then. Come here girl and lets get down to work. Who is in need of a kimono?” Kagome sat on the edge of the table and thought of ra moment.



“Myself, Rin, and Sango.” Tankia nodded.



“Formal kimono’s have at least four layers, most of the time they have six or more. You will need six layers in your kimono. Rin and this Sango will have four. Yours we will stick to the Lord’s colors. So reds, whites, navy blue, and gold are all acceptable. The young ward will also have to stick with these colors. Who is Sango?”



“Sango is my sister.” Tankia nodded.



“She can have any colors. Is there anyone else?” Kagome nodded.



“My young kit, Shippo is need of something to wear. He is Rin’s age.”



“He can wear any colors as well. Let’s start with yours and move on from there.”



“Well, lets start with the outer kimono first. I was thinking of mostly white with red edging and red flowers around the hem and sleeves. Then deep red for the next layer and then white and then blue and then white and then red again for the last layer. The rest of the details can be left up to you.” Tankia nodded and made some notes.



“The young ward will have a white outer layer since she is a child.”



“I agree. Let’s use gold trimming on her hers. Then the under layers can be up to you as well. For Sango I was thinking a pink kimono with black trimmings and accents. Then the under layers can be different shades of pink and one all black layer.” Tankia made note of the color scheme and gestured for more. “Shippo, we should go with green and browns.” Tankia thought for a moment.



“What about dark brown pants and a forest green shirt with a lighter green sash?” Kagome clapped her hands together and smiled.



“Perfect. How soon can you get them done?” Tankia bowed to Kagome from her seat.



“Not to worry, my lady, you shall have them by the ball.”



“Thank you. I must be off. Dinner is going to be ready soon and I must change.” Kagome waved to the demon for before walking back to her room. She smiled the whole way through the halls to her room. When she opened the door she saw Sesshomaru standing there.



“Sesshomaru-sama. What can I do for you?” Sesshomaru turned to face her and gestured to the bed. Sitting on the bed was a box that Kagome didn’t notice. It was very similar to the box her kimono was in but it was much smaller. Kagome went over the box and gently lifted the lid. Sitting inside the box was a pendant. It was a crescent shaped blue sapphire set in silver. It was dangling from a black leather strap. Kagome lifted the necklace from the box and turned to Sesshomaru.



“It’s beautiful. Thank you very much.” Sesshomaru inclined his head slightly.



“I can not give you a selection mark until you agree to mate with me, but I want you to have something of the western lands.” Sesshomaru picked up the necklace and stepped behind her. Kagome saw the pendant pass in front of her face and then felt Sesshomaru securing the strap behind her neck. Sesshomaru placed his hands on her shoulders and leaned toward her.



“No matter what you decide, I want you to keep this necklace.” Kagome shivered as his breath blew by her ear.



Kagome turned her head toward Sesshomaru and placed a small kiss on his lips. When Kagome pulled away Sesshomaru grabbed the back of her head and stilled her movements. Slowly Sesshomaru leaned toward her lips. Kagome’s eye’s fluttered shut when his lips met hers. Kagome sighed into the kiss and Sesshomaru brushed her bottom lip with his tongue. Kagome opened her mouth and gently bumped her tongue against his. Sesshomaru groaned and began to explore her mouth.



He swept over her blunt human teeth and rubbed against her tongue, encouraging her to play. Kagome swirled her tongue around his and gently sucked on it for a moment. She swept her tongue into his mouth and ran it across his fangs. Kagome cut her tongue on his fang and made to pull it back into her mouth. Sesshomaru sucked the appendage back into his mouth and sucked on the small wound. Kagome moaned into the kiss before she pulled away and rested her head back against his shoulder gasping for breath.



Sesshomaru placed a kiss on her temple before pulling away. Kagome turned to face him and blushed. Sesshomaru’s eyes twinkled slightly.



“Dinner is almost ready. I will see you in the dinning hall.” Sesshomaru started out of the room and stopped at the door looking back over his shoulder. “Wear something blue.” Kagome nodded and Sesshomaru left. A few moments latter Mika came into the room and pulled a green kimono from the closet. Kagome shook her head.



“Something blue.” Kagome said fingering her necklace with a smile.
