Sesshoumaru stood there and watched until Kagome made it to the edge of the village with Rin. He realized that she had been right in her outburst; they would need a better form of transportation. They were being delayed far too often because of their slow pace, not that it hadn’t had a welcome outcome up to this point, but it was time to stop piddling around and get to the palace.

Sesshoumaru sat down on the ground and allowed his senses to spread over the lands of his birth. He found several horses, but they were too slow for his tastes, plus they had a restlessness in their aura that lead him to believe they were wild, so they would be no good for riding. He decided anything bound to the land held to great a risk of being delayed once again. He continued his search and found several other pack animals, but nothing suited his needs.

Suddenly he picked up and unusual power signature. It was obviously demonic, it strength alone gave that away, but it gave no indications as to what type of demon produced it. Deciding it was worth investigating, he quickly got up and darted off in the direction he had sensed the power signature.

It took him about fifteen minutes to reach where the origin of the demonic power signature was emanating from. Now he realized why he was unable to identify the demonic power, it was actually a mix of two demonic presences. He masked his presence and hid behind a thick row of bushes behind one of the beasts.

Two dragons stood before him facing each other growling. One was a deep blood red with pitch black eyes, and the other was an astonishing find. It was a rare two headed dragon; he was colored a deep forest green with mint green eyes, and both dragons had thick midnight black manes and tufts of hair on their tails. It appeared they were fighting a territorial dispute.

He suddenly had to dive away from his hiding place because the red dragon fired a blast of scorching flames at the green dragon, who just so happened to be standing right in front of him. No sooner had the green dragon dodged the flames, than he turned and fired a double stream of white hot lightning. The red dragon was able to avoid one of the blasts, but it was unable to void the second stream of lightning and took a direct hit. The red dragon fell to the ground do to the force of the attack; however there were no outward signs of trauma because of its thick hide and nearly impenetrable scales.

The green dragon walked over to the red one and grunted loudly, the red one lay there grunting softly in pain, but lowered its head submissively and adjusted itself so it was lying on its stomach. It was then Sesshoumaru realized what he had happened upon wasn’t a territorial dispute; the green dragon had been battling to subdue the red one so that he could mate her! His suspicions were confirmed when the green dragon mounted the red dragon and began to rut.

Sesshoumaru looked away at that point, it was extremely rare to see these types of dragons mating, however he also knew how violent they were at these times. If one was discovered watching the mating of two dragons they would be incinerated, and Sesshoumaru knew even with all his strength he was not immune to their attacks and could be severely injured if not killed by the beasts.

For over an hour he sat their listening to the sounds of the two dragons rutting, then everything became very quiet. Suddenly a triumphant roar broke through the forest. Sesshoumaru smirked, if this dragon was anything like himself, then he had just succeeded in pupping his mate.

It dawned on him that these beasts would be perfect for getting him and his family to the Western Palace because of their ability to fly. The only problem would be to subdue both dragons. One dragon was extremely difficult to subdue, two would be next to impossible.

He exhaled the breath he had been holding and decided all he could do was try; if he could establish that he was the ruler of these lands he might be able to survive the encounter if nothing else.

Sesshoumaru took one last calming breath and slowly emerged from his hiding spot. He kept his face schooled into his trademark indifferent mask, and focused his aura acutely on the two dragons. The red dragon lowered her head to the ground due to the immense pressure his aura was exerting on them. The green dragon moved in front of the red dragon as if to protect her, but even he showed he was having difficulty standing. It appeared that the rutting session had considerably weakened both dragons; luck was apparently on Sesshoumaru’s side.

“You are on my lands; here I am lord. I desire both of you to serve me temporarily, rest assured both of you will be treated well and your woman will be especially well cared for. My mate and child require transportation to the Western Palace. Should you show loyalty to myself and them and you decide to stay with us your future will be one of comfort.” He said all of this slowly and in a level voice, never showing any outward signs of aggression. He continued to slowly subdue them by focusing his aura more and more acutely, slowly switching the force from the female to the male.

The green dragon locked all four of his mint green eyes on Sesshoumaru’s own golden ones. He kept his gaze steady with the dragons until finally both heads nodded to him.

Sesshoumaru slowly relaxed the pressure of his aura on them. When he had finally reigned in the last of his aura the green dragon collapsed by the red dragon. Both were breathing heavily and showed signs of exhaustion, Sesshoumaru knew he couldn’t ask them to move right now.

“Remain here and rest for now. I will return shortly then we will leave to collect my mate and daughter.” Sesshoumaru said as he walked away from the dragons that were already starting to fall asleep.

Nearby was a demon village, he knew they would have the tact he needed so he headed towards it. Many times human and demon villages were very near each other, but humans were none the wiser because of all the layers of wards that always surrounded the demon villages.

Sesshoumaru passed through the wards without even pausing. After a few moments he was at the edge of a bustling village. With a thought he cast an enchantment that disguised his features and clothing to avoid being recognized, that was the last thing he needed at the moment.

He headed straight to the livery to look for two saddles and three bridal sets for the dragons. He walked around looking at the assortment of merchandise hanging on the walls and the animals in the stalls.
From a back room a woman walked out. She was wearing a short light blue yukata that opened in the front to reveal her bandaged chest. Her long black hair was tied back in a thick braid that fell down her back, and her jade green eyes were sharp and alert. She walked up to Sesshoumaru putting a little extra swing into her hips, and her eyes clouded slightly with lust and she gave him an appraising look.

“Hey there handsome, what can I do for ya?” she said in a low husky voice.

“I have a mate so I do not require a woman, but I do require two saddles and three sets of bridles for large animals.” Sesshoumaru said in a very businesslike tone.

“Ah, figures, all the good lookin’ ones are always taken. Yeah hun, I got what ya need. Follow me…” She said as she walked to the back of the stable with Sesshoumaru following about three paces behind. “Now they’re nothin’ special, but they’ll get the job done.” She said pulling the tarp off two plain but sturdy saddles. “Now the bridles do have a little fanciness to ‘em. Made ‘em myself, but they ain’t a matched set.” She said as she pulled out three bridles, two had white tassels, and the third had blue tassels.

“They will be fine, please prepare them as I will be leaving shortly.” Sesshoumaru said in the same business like tone.

“Sure thing hun, I’ll even lend you one of my demon steers to get yer stuff to where ya need it. Once you unload ‘im he comes right back home to me.” She smiled.

Sesshoumaru just “hned” and paid the girl.

“Yer welcome back anytime darling!” She called after him as he led the steer out of the village.

Once he had passed the barriers surrounding the town he let his enchantment fall. He quickly led the steer to the two sleeping dragons, and just as quickly unloaded his purchases. Once the load was off its back, true to the girl’s word, the steer turned and began walking back toward the village.

With the dragons still resting, Sesshoumaru decided to just sit and wait. While he was waiting, he felt the flair of the mating mark, as well as whatever bond Ericka had placed on them. He smirked. Someone had made the mistake of pissing his mate off. Whoever they were, they were human, and his mate was more than capable of taking care of them. Just as quickly as it had flared, the bonds quieted as his mated temper cooled.

The dragons began to stir at that point. Sesshoumaru rose and dusted off his pants, the headed over to the dragons three sets of bridals in hand.

The green dragon once again assumed a defensive position over the red one, both sets of eyes watching Sesshoumaru warily.

Sesshoumaru approached the male slowly. He held out the bridles for the green dragon to inspect before slowly slipping them onto both heads. Both heads shook in annoyance, but settled down moments later. He repeated the process with the female, but took it even more slowly as he presented the bridle for inspection and slipped it over her muzzle. She took it slightly worse than the male, fussing for quite some time before she too quieted down. The colors of the tassels seemed to suit both dragons quite well.

He had no trouble putting the saddle on the male dragon. However, the female was not nearly as cooperative. She would buck every time he would reach under her belly. She swung her head back and narrowed her eyes at him.
“I mean you no harm, nor your pup. Be calm and allow me to finish with this task so we can be on our way.” Sesshoumaru looked at her levelly. She snorted and looked away, but didn’t buck on him again. Sesshoumaru fought the urge to sigh; this female would be a handful no doubt.

Deciding against riding either for the time being, he grabbed their lead ropes and headed back the way he had come originally.

Because of the fact that both dragons energy was still too low for either of them to be able to fly, it took him till the sun had already sunk beneath the horizon to return to the spot where his mate and daughter were waiting. He had also been delayed when both dragons had insisted on stopping to eat in a large grassy clearing they had come upon on their way back.

The moment the dragons caught site of Kagome and Rin, they both froze then began fighting Sessoumarus’s hold on them. He stood his ground struggling to keep his grip on the lead ropes, when a second set of hands appeared beside his, gripping the lead ropes.

Kagome saw the dragons begin to panic, and immediately rushed to Sesshoumaru’s side to help him, leaving Rin by the small fire they had built to wait for Sesshoumaru.

Rin had a wreath of nice smelling flowers that Kagome had made for her and a pile beside her that she was using to learn to make more wreaths. Her feet were well bandaged this evening so she was able to walk a little. She saw how scared the dragons were, and she started to try to think of something she could do to help. She looked at the pile of flowers at her side, and her eyes lit up as an idea came to her. She thought if she gave the pretty flowers to the dragons maybe they would not be scared anymore. So she gathered an armful of flowers and began to wobble toward the panicking dragons.

“Rin stay back it’s too dangerous!” Kagome yelled, being jerked about as she fought to calm the dragons with her mate.

Rin wasn’t deterred, she wobbled to just out of the reach of the thrashing twin headed dragon. One of its heads stopped fighting to look at Rin. He looked hurt and betrayed; Rin gave him her best gapped toothed smile and proudly presented the flowers to him. He looked surprised then suspicious. He butted the other head that was still fighting, and both locked eyes with the little girl, who just kept smiling and again offered her armful of flowers to them.

They stood looking at the little human girl. She was obviously no threat to them. Yet she foolishly came up to them offering a small armful of tasty smelling flowers, yet there was something about her that struck something in them. They felt a sudden urge to protect this little human girl. Both heads turned to each other and both sported a look that clearly said they both thought they had lost their minds. They looked back at her, still smiling trustingly and offering her armful of flowers, flowers that were looking even tastier as the tense moments ticked by. Suddenly his stomach growled loudly. Rin jumped a little at the sudden loud rumbling noise. Then silently laughed when she had figured out what had caused it. She daringly wobbled up to the twin headed dragon and held out the flowers to them. They looked at each other again before slowly leaning down and eagerly lapping up the two piles she had considerately broken her bundle into. Both heads chewed their portions of tasty flowers quickly, loving every moment of it, and then both nuzzled the little girl and licked her cheeks in thanks.

She again silently laughed, because their tongues tickled, and because she was happy that they were both so nice. She patted their warm muzzles, and then saw her parents still struggling with the red dragon. She was fighting even more violently now.

The green dragon sensed the little ones distress, and then saw its new mate still panicking and fighting. The male holding tightly to her reigns had kept his word and not laid a harmful hand on her yet, but his patience for her seemed to be running out. The woman was speaking to his mate in a calming voice, trying desperately to calm her down, but it was proving to be futile. His mate was just too far gone to see or hear reason, and as the woman’s strength began to weaken the males’ irritation began to rise. If he didn’t interfere soon he wouldn’t be able to blame the male if he lashed out at his mate to control her. He gently nudged the little girl out of the way, the charged at his mate. In a few bounds he got to her then one head bit her muzzle and the other made her fall forward by biting one of her legs, in the next instant both released their holds and shoved her to where she was belly up. The painful shock had knocked her back to her senses, and now she was trying to right herself. After a few unsuccessful attempts, her mate finally helped her roll over onto her belly.

She gave all of them and angry glare. She growled at her mate and at the little girl who was slowly wobbling toward her with an armful of flowers. Her mate gave her a warning growl, clearly telling her not to harm the little girl. Rin repeated what she had done with the green dragon. She approached just out of reach of the red dragon. She ignored her growling and gave her her best smile and presented her with the flowers. The red dragon reacted almost the same way the green one had. She stopped growling and looked surprised, then suspicious. Rin just kept smiling and holding out her flowers. The green dragon nudged his mate and grunted telling her everything was alright. She still seemed suspicious so the green dragon walked forward and nudged the little girls’ hands. She looked at him then at the red dragon, and then understanding lit up her eyes and she realized what he wanted her to do. So Rin held out two flowers to each of the heads who quickly lapped them up from her hand quickly, grunting their approval. Not needing any more proof the red dragon tried to get up but couldn’t because she had exhausted herself when she had panicked earlier. Rin looked up at the green dragon for the ‘OK’ to move toward her. The right head grunted and nudged her forward; she smiled again and wobbled as quickly as she could to the red dragon.

The red dragon still looked wearily at her, but no one watching could sense and ill intent coming from the dragon. Rin presented one flower for her to try, holding it in front of the dragons’ mouth. The red dragon slowly reached forward and licked the small flower out of Rins' hand. Rin silently laughed as her hand was tickled by the red dragons tongue. The red dragon slowly chewed the flower, and then she suddenly realized just how hungry she actually was, and how tasty the little flower had been. Once she had swallowed, she nudged Rin’s hand and Rin quickly gave her some more flowers until she had no more to give. The red dragon licked Rins' hand then her face causing Rin to burst into her silent laugh again as she reached up to pet the red dragons muzzle.

Kagome and Sesshoumaru looked on in shock as their little Rin charmed both dragons. The green dragon had stopped thrashing after Kagome had called to Rin to stay away, the moment his aura was no longer threatening Sesshoumaru had dropped the lead rope of the male dragon. He was curious about the sudden change that had happened but couldn’t think about it because the red female began thrashing even more violently when the green male had calmed and it took all his and Kagome’s focus to work on calming her down and keep her from breaking loose.

Then out of nowhere the male dragon had rushed over and attacked the female. The moment the male made contact with the female both Sesshoumaru and Kagome released their hold on her and let the male subdue her.

Kagome had been trying to talk her down since she had rushed to help her mate but it became evident that words alone wouldn’t be enough to calm her and unfortunately her strength was quickly leaving her. As she became weaker, Sesshoumaru’s resolve to subdue the red dragon by force increased, but before he could act the green dragon had interfered.

Then they had stood back and watched in amazement as Rin charmed the red dragon slowly with her armful of flowers. Sesshoumaru had reached out when she had first started to approach the dragon, but Kagome reached out and stopped him, and when he looked at her with a confused gaze, she merely shook her head. As he examined the strange scene, he noticed the green dragon keeping a careful eye on Rin and the red dragon. The dragons’ two sets of eyes showed he had taken a liking to Rin. The red dragon seemed to accept the child as well as the anger and distrust slowly left her aura and eyes. As soon as the last of Rins’ flowers were gone the red dragon nuzzled Rin affectionately, and she silently laughed and hugged her muzzle.

“Well Rin has worked her magic again. I believe our little girl has a gift mate. I wonder if they will be as accepting of me as they are of her.” Kagome said her fatigue clear in her voice.

The green dragon, hearing what Kagome had said, slowly walked over to her and lowered their heads in apology and licked her hand. Kagome smiled, laughed weakly, and petted both muzzles gently.

Rin made her way over to Kagome, tugging her sleeve to get her attention. Kagome stopped petting the dragon and knelt down and hugged Rin to her tightly.

“Oh my little one, please do not do anything so reckless ever again. This time it turned out alright, but next time you may not be so lucky. I just found you; I have no desire to lose you so quickly.” She said hugging her tighter. Rin, realizing how worried she had made Kagome, hugged her back as tightly as she could.

After Rin thought Kagome felt a little better, she pulled away and tugged Kagome toward the red dragon. When Kagome hesitated, the green dragon nudged her from behind to encourage her forward. Rins’ legs were getting very weak by this point, and before they could get to the red dragon, who was still sitting on the ground, she tripped but before she could hit the ground the green dragons left head grabbed her by the back of her kimono, keeping her from a bad tumble. Both Kagome and Rin had decided to save the matching kimono they had bought until they got to the Western Palace, so Rin was still in one of Kagome’s black shirts. The left head lifted her up and placed her on the neck of the right head. She silently giggled and hugged the right heads neck, and reached out to scratch the muzzle of the left head. Both heads let out a low contented growl.

Kagome had missed when she had reached out to save Rin from her tumble, but she breathed a sigh of relief when the dragon had saved her. She reached back and gave the left head a good scratch on his head, and he licked her hand in return.

What seemed like an eternity to Kagome later, she was kneeling in front of the red dragon. They both eyed each other, each sensing the power the other had. The dragon suddenly looked surprised as she slowly leaned closer to Kagome’s belly and sniffed delicately. Her head shot up and the look of surprise changed astonishment as she leveled her gaze with Kagomes’.

“Yes I am pregnant, and I know you are as well. I apologize for frightening you so badly earlier and being so rough with you. I hope you can forgive me.” Kagome said bowing her head to the dragon.
The red dragon looked unsure for a moment, then her eyes softened in forgiveness, and she leaned forward and licked Kagome’s cheek. Kagome looked up in surprise then laughed and hugged the red dragon around her neck while the red dragon growled happily.

Sesshoumaru finally allowed himself to relax a little. He was surprised that the dragons had changed their attitude towards Kagome and Rin so quickly; they both even showed that they trusted both of them because they allowed both females to embrace them, and in Rin’s case ride them. Dragons were well known for their extreme distrust and in some cases even a violent hatred of other species, because of millennia of maltreatment and forced servitude at their hands. Humans were normally below the dragons’ radar though, for even though they had such great numbers no dragon had ever fallen into the servitude of humans, nor had the humans ever really tried to enslave them. Dragons were feared by humans, and were therefore left alone, and the dragons left the humans alone as well because of how little a threat they posed.

Being herbivorous creatures they were most often looked down upon by other demon species. Being seen as inferior demons they were often enslaved by demon nobles and treated very cruelly. Sesshoumaru knew he would have to make sure to have a special talk with the stable hands to make sure that these two were treated acceptably like he had promised them they would be; however looking at his mate and daughter it was unlikely the two dragons would want for anything.

“So what are we to call you both?” Kagome said looking quizzically at both dragons. “You don’t already have names do you?”

The green dragon shook both its heads causing Rin to silently laugh as she clung to the right heads mane and neck. She waved at the left head and pointed to the ground. He grunted his understanding and gently lifted her to the ground before finally laying himself down beside her. Rin crawled in front of the dragon and used her finger to write in the dirt in front of each head. When she crawled away Rins’ crude kanji was etched into the dirt.

“Ah” Kagome said pointing to the right head, “Un” she said pointing to the left head. “So you want to call them Ah-Un Rin?” Rin quickly shook her head vigorously in a ‘yes’ “Alright what do you think boys? Do you like the names?” Kagome said looking at the twin heads. They looked at each other then at Rin, both heads grunted and nodded at her. Rin smiled her big gap toothed smile and hugged both muzzles.

Kagome looked down at the big red head in her lap she was currently scratching. After the red dragon had shook her head telling Kagome she didn’t have a name she had laid her head in Kagome’s lap letting her scratch it.

“I think the name ‘Akane’ would suit you…what do you think?” Kagome said running her hand along the top of the red dragons head and into her mane. She lifted her head lazily from Kagome’s lap and looked at the green dragon, who nodded his approval, and Rin who was smiling and clapping in front of him, then looked at Kagome and nodded her approval, before laying her head back in Kagome’s lap. Kagome smiled and kissed the top of the dragons head before continuing to slowly pet her.

Sesshoumaru stood there in shock. Dragons let no one name them. If a dragon was named and accepted the name it was like a binding contract. These two could never be free again; they would forever be bound to the Western family. Yet they had accepted it without a second thought. Sesshoumaru smirked and shook his head, these two females never ceased to amaze him. Not only had they won his heart, they had tamed and bound two dragons without any force whatsoever. They would be a force to be reckoned with in the courts; he very much doubted that anyone would be immune to their charms. He sighed quietly and shook his head.

“We will rest here for the night; I believe we could all use it. You both go and feed yourselves, when you return I will go and capture something for my family.” Sesshoumaru said to the dragons, who nodded, rose and wandered into the forest. Rin looked a little sad to see them go; Kagome smiled and moved over to where Ah-Un had left her.

“Do not worry Rin; they will be back before you know it. They have had a big day like us and need a good dinner to get their energy back.” She smiled. Rin nodded and rubbed her stomach. “I suppose you are hungry too, huh? Come on let’s show your father what we brought back from the village.” She smiled as Rin fidgeted in excitement.

Sesshoumaru was amazed at the sheer amount of food his mate had bought, most of it consisting of sweets. There were a few packages of healthy foods as well.

Rin was reaching for a sweet bun, but Kagome put a stop to that. “I don’t think so little one, eat some food that is good for you first then you may have something sweet.” Kagome looked at her with a smirk and a raised eyebrow. Rin smiled innocently and redirected her hand toward a mound of fruits. She grabbed a big apple and took a large bite out of it munching happily. Kagome sighed and sat down beside her. She was exhausted, dark circles were beginning to develop under her eyes; she reached into the pile of fruits and took out a plum and started to nibble on it. She watched as Rin finished the apple then ate two big rice balls that had pickled radishes in the center. Kagome laughed when Sesshoumaru picked up a rice ball and looked at it confused because of its size; it was about as big as his hand.

“Our daughter charmed the vendor with her smile, so she made some extra big rice balls for her. She did not charge us anything extra either.” Kagome laughed stroking Rins’ hair and picking a few stray pieces of rice off of her cheeks. “Alright you can have one sweet bun Rin.” Rin smiled and reached into the package that held the sweet buns and pulled out another huge piece of food, it took both her little hands to hold it.

“I suppose she charmed that vendor as well?” Sesshoumaru said quirking an eyebrow as Rin dug into her sweet bun with a blissful smile on her face.

“Nope, I told the vendor I was pregnant and was craving something sweet. She was a very understanding woman as you can see…” Kagome smiled and took a sweet bun for herself.

Sesshoumaru sighed and thought. “I was right…no one is immune to their charms…”

Suddenly Kagome tensed and looked up toward the forests edge then relaxed when she saw who it was. When Sesshoumaru looked he saw the dragons walking back into the clearing, they looked a little better than when they had left.

Kagome smiled at both of them. “Welcome back you two.” They both grunted back at her. Ah-Un went and lay behind Rin who was just finishing her sweet bun. Both heads leaned down and began to lick Rin clean of the sweet stickiness that had accumulated on her face and hands. Rin laughed her silent laugh and let them have their way and clean her up.

Akane, upon seeing the way Kagome looked, quickly moved over to Sesshoumaru and started butting him with her head out of camp.

“I do believe mate you have just been booted from camp.” Kagome said between fits of laughter.

“Hn…it would appear so.” He said suddenly turning and putting his hand on Akane’s head mid butt. “I understand, I am leaving, please take care of them while I am gone.” Sesshoumaru said turning back to leave. Akane grunted and butted him extra hard one last time causing him to stumble into the woods.

Kagome’s laughter filled the clearing, and Rin couldn’t help but laugh as well as Akane snorted and turned and walked back to Kagome. She lay down behind her and licked clean what little sweetness was left on her face and hands then gently nudged her to lay back and rest against her side.

“Alright, alright…*yawn*…I get it, I will rest for a while.” Kagome said as she turned into Akane’s side.

Rin started to crawl over to Kagome with Ah-Un following her when she suddenly stopped crawling and started fidgeting. Ah-Un looked at her confused as to what was the matter. Rin started pointing urgently toward the bushes. Ah-Un’s eyes widened in understanding, and then Un quickly reached down and grabbed the back of her shirt and carried her over to the bushes. She shooed him away, then seconds later the dragon heard her sigh of relief as she took care of her business.

A few minutes later she waved for Ah-Un to come back. She smiled at them then Ah leaned down and carried her back to Akane and Kagome.

Rin curled up at Kagome’s front, and Kagome, who was already asleep, reached out and hugged Rin to her chest. Rin instantly cuddled into her embrace and sighed happily before she too fell asleep.

Ah-Un lay down at the girls’ feet and nuzzled Akane who was just beginning to nod off as well. She yawned and laid her head down while Ah-Un kept watch over all of them.

######################

Well here it is I hope you all enjoyed this chapter. I apologize everyone, I had a horrible case of writers block, and I still haven’t fully kicked it, but I was able to get this out for you all. In case you all were wondering:
Akane means ‘Deep Red.’

Ah-Un (this might be stupid on my part as most of you probably already know this) is two different forms of ‘yes.’

In all my years of reading fan fiction I have never read any stories where Ah-Un gets any of ‘that’ kind of lovin’. So I decided to give him a mate cause even a two headed dragon deserves to get him a little somethin somethin every now and then. ;)

Alrighty everyone you know the drill now. Please leave me a review to let me know what you think!!
