Chapter 16
Chapter 16:
"So you don't want me to say anything?" Kagoru asked as they walked towards the door.
"No. I just want you to let me handle it. It will be better if I explain. Plus I don't want to give you anything to be embarassed about."
"I'm not going to be embarassed." He said then looked at her like she had said something offensive.
"I know." She paused, pulled him into an embrace, then kissed him. "I just want you to be comfortable."
"Kagoru, you're home." His grandmother surprised them.
"Yes Grandma. I've come to talk to Dad real quick. Inutaisha and I are going off for a while."
"Come in."
Inutaisha and Kagoru followed her into the house. Inutaisha sat down at the table next to the kitchen. Kagoru's father entered the room after hearing his son enter the house. "Kagoru what are you doing home?"
"Well. Inutaisha and I wanted to talk to you." Kagoru replied.
"You might want to sit down." Inutaisha advised. Once Kagoru's father had sat down Inutaisha began to explain. "Well. This is hard to explain. You see Kagoru and I have become mates."
"Mates, Inutaisha? What exactly do you mean?"
"Well he is uh...my mate. You know as in.."
"Girlfriend and boyfriend." Kagoru interrupted.
"Really! I was hoping you two would get together."
Inutaisha's jaw dropped. "You do understand what 'mate' means right?"
"Inutaisha do you have a twin brother?"
"No. I have a sister."
"Well there is someone outside who looks like you."
"Inuyasha. I forgot to tell him. Crap." Inutaisha stood up and leapt towards the door.
"Are they your friends?"
"Um Dad we have some explaining to do."

After a lengthy conversation over why Inuyasha looked so much like Inutaisha and the same way for Kagome and Kagoru they finally explained the mate concept and even though Kagoru's father thought it strange at first, he accepted it. So the four left to join up with the rest of their groups and head out to go after their enemies.
When landing on the other side of the well Inuyasha asked, "Why were you two over there?"
"To explain the whole mating thing to Kagoru's dad." Inutaisha explained. "I meant to tell you but we thought we had enough time to explain and come back."
"I was rather surprised though." Kagoru said. "Dad didn't act like it was a big thing."
"I'm sure when he found out that he is going to have little white-haired grandbabies in the future then he became too happy for words." Inutaisha said with a laugh.
When the four returned they found their groups waiting. "Sorry for the wait. Lets go." Inutaisha apologized then they left to find their enemies.
A/N: Sorry for the short chapter. Fall quarter starts tomorrow.
