Chapter Sixteen


Sesshoumaru took a few steps forward unsheathing the Tenseiga. After all these years he was staring at his old nemisis once more. He'd hope to die of old age before ever having to smell him again. "You should have stayed dead." He spoke loud enough for the hanyou to hear.

"Sorry to disappoint you. I see you know of my presence but you are alone. It pleases me to learn that everyone else is finally dead after all this time. Without the others here you are powerless to stop me on your own." He chuckled at seeing the youkai's fallen expression. "Tell me did you ever suceed in killing Inuyasha?"

Anger could be seen on the usual calm face. "Don't you dare speak his name."

"Looks like I have touched a nerve. It's a shame he's gone, I would have enjoyed killing him myself." Naraku erected his barrier as Sesshoumaru attacked. The tensiega hit the barrier, energy sparking. "Give it up. I am as powerful as the day I died. You will become part of my body."

Sesshoumaru leapt out the way as tenacles came for him. He sliced through them as they tried to pierce him. One caught him in the shoulder knocking him several feet away.

"If he's having trouble, we are all dead." Touya spoke.

Sesshoumaru cursed, the bastard was indeed just as strong if not stronger. His eyes widened as a tenacle shot forward aiming for his chest. He felt himself being picked up out the way.

Kirara grabbed her lord by the shirt, flying out of harm's way. The tenacle hit empty ground. Kagome shouted at Sesshoumaru from her perch. "You okay?"

"Yes, take him out now." Kirara released him in the air, he righted himself.

Kagome shouted at the large neko, "Swing me around right in front of him. I want a clear shot, I'll take them all out." The large neko avoided a tenacle.

"Kagome." The name was laced with malice and hatred. His eyes stayed on the girl that had killed him centuries ago.

Kagome unsheathed the Tetsusiaga, the large fang formed in her hand. Kirara dove down and swung around. Before she got get close to Naraku he sent his minions after her. "Get me on the ground now and get away." The cat did what she was told. Kagome felt the cat land and take off once more.

"What the hell is she thinking?" Hiei spoke.

"Stay back if you value your life." Sesshoumaru stopped them all from moving. "Don't take the warning lightly. Do it Kagome."

She focused on the heard of demons coming at her, there it was the fischer. She swung the large fang as she'd done many times before with her training. The power was released from Inuyasha's fang, sending the blast across the distance. The dust was cleared and only Naraku stood standing.

He stared at her in disbelief, "Impossible, you should be dead. How can you harness the fang's power?"

She hefted the fang over her shoulder like Inuyasha had done many times before her. "Call it a present from an old friend." She unleashed the power again aiming it right for him. It tore across the distance, his shield was knocked away. She watched as half his body was torn away. "Oops, looks like I missed a spot."

Sesshoumaru leapt through the air, closing the distance between him and the hanyou. Naraku saw the blow that would end his life, he called upon his miasma and disappeared as Sesshoumaru struck. The lord landed, lifting a brow. The coward had run like always.

Kagome came up beside him, "Figures he'd run. What got you so mad?"

"It was nothing. There is nothing more we can do here. Let us leave, go now." He ordered her.

"Gotcha, see ya back home. Kirara." The neko stopped long enough for her to climb on. She knew that both men were behind her running forward. "Go." The cat took off into the air.

Sesshoumaru waited for the Leader of Spiritworld and the Ruler of the Makai to stop beside him. "We only came because we were told of the attack about to take place. If it had been up to me, I would have let you all die. Next time handle you own problems, do not bring them to us. We had to deal with him before, you have you team. Don't think of bringing her into it. If I catch any of your team near her, they will die." He took off without saying another word.

"Well, that was interesting." Hiei stated. He already disliked the man.

"Hey what gives, I thought the girl was with you Yomi. Didn't you two share some kind of bond?" Yusuke asked.

Yomi didn't say anything, he faced the direction the girl had gone. "At one time." He turned and walked back inside his city. He knew Kurama was about to confront him. He'd always assumed the girl had run off with him, now seeing the fox's face he knew the truth. Kurama had been suprised to find that the girl was no longer with him in more ways than one.

As soon as Kirara landed Kagome hopped off the neko's back. When she walked inside the estate she heard crying and wailing. She ran upstairs to open the bedroom door, the old youkai lady was inside pulling apart the two fighters. She looked up and sighed when Kagome walked in.

"They are at it again."

Kagome looked at both of them. Her heart melted but she put on a stern face. "Why are you two fighting?" She asked both boys.

"He did it." Kohaku pointed at his twin brother. He had silver hair on top his head along with two white ears adorning his crown. He looked a lot like Inuyasha but he wasn't half dog youkai.

"Nah uh." Miroku's poked out his lower lip. He looked the complete opposite of his brother. He had black hair with two little horns starting to form on his forehead. He was the youngest, born an hour later than Kohaku.

"I think you both need to head to bed for the night." Kagome looked at both of them and once again felt her heart pinch. She'd thought she'd gotten over how much they resembled their fathers. Seeing them for only a few seconds earlier today brought it all back.

Kagome had woken up over three years ago when someone had lightly touched her shoulders. She'd woken up to find the old cat youkai looking at her. The same one she had poured her heart out too. Her named turned out to be Tilynn. She informed Kagome that she knew of where Lord Sesshoumaru dwelled. Kagome had taken up the offer of being shown to his place.

Sesshoumaru had been suprised to see her show up at his doorstep. He had demanded to know what she was doing in the Makai. So she had told him everything that had happened to her. Including her feeling for both men. Neither her nor Tilynn had left after that day. Several weeks later Kagome found out she was pregnant. For six months she had wondered which man had helped to sire a child. It became obvious in her last month she carried more than one. Still she had believed that only one of them had done the job. When they were born Sesshoumaru had asked her how. She blushed and told them that the last time she had slept with both it had been within twentyfour hours between both. He simply nodded and left it at that.

Kagome sighed, it had been her luck. She couldn't have just had one child to remind her of one of them. Nope, even in her womb they had fought over the damn egg. She'd learnt in sex ed. class that it was possible for two sperm to enter an egg causing it to split. Never thought it would happen to her one day.

She helped them get into bed and tucked them in. They weren't even three yet but were both growing like weeds. Kohaku could talk a lot better than Miroku. She wasn't sure what she'd have done with out Sesshoumaru or Tilynn. It would have been impossible for her to have her children in her world.

"Give me a kiss and you both go to sleep." She kissed both on the cheek.

"Night mom."

"Ni mom."
