Endings

I would like to say a few things. First, I'm a guy. It says so in my profile and everything. I am 21. I know some people will not believe it short of seeing my drivers licence or birth certificate, but it's the sad truth. I'm old and getting older every day.

When I started Hate, I knew that I didn't have near the talent to do a happy story. Oh sure, I can do happy little one-shots or two chapter love stories(most of which you won't find here), but true life-altering writing is beyond me. So I settled for using shock, sadism, violence, and gore to leave my mark. I had only planned it to be a three-chapter story, with Inuyasha doing nothing worse them thinking about killing Rin to get back at Sesshomaru, but instead the story has truly taken on a life of it's own. And I'm sad to say it, but I think this will be the last chapter. Sorry to end it, but I am completely out of ideas. But don't worry. I'll be back someday soon.

Sorry, I tend to ramble. Now, on with the final chapter!

Endings.

Battle.

Naraku could feel it. He could taste the death that floated on the air. Not an unpleasent sensation, one he usually sought out, but this time it brought fear to his black heart.

Inuyasha was coming. Part of him wanted to believe otherwise, but in his human soul he knew the truth. He could not defeat Inuyasha as he was now. The lose of Kagura, Kohaku, and Kanna's mirror had forced him to rely exclusively on his wasps to keep him informed of the world outside his palace while he labored with his arcane skill to produce another mirror for Kanna. Without it she was effectivly helpless, and it would take much too long to create another servant with her level of power.

Crafting the magical mirror and linking it and Kanna together was taxing even to him. Naraku didn't know exactly why it was harder too create this time, but something about the process was draining him of vital reserves of power. He could no longer hold the barrier around his palace, or for that matter, hold his body together. Individualy personalities were starting to reemerge and struggle with him, attempting to replace him as the unifying force that bound the youkai together. His mind was still keen enough to crush those little rebellions, but for how long?

And now, the core personality that called itself Naraku decided that he had only one chance. In the darkness of his lair, he began to plot.

Inuyasha laughed as his jagged claws tore through the hundreds of lesser youkai Naraku sent at him. It was beautiful. Blood and bodies covered the ground, stacked four high in some spots. Kohaku was beside him, wielding his chain scythe and enjoying himself as much as his master.

As the carnage continued, Kagura and Kirara stood guard over the slaves. Abd what a miserable, beaten, broken lot they were, Kagura thought to herself. The young miko was out of her mind from horror and pain, conversing with people only she could see. The wolf, morning the loss of his manhood, had taken his life hoping against hope that Inuyasha would not revive him again. Only the slayer stood defiant. Well, Kagura would take care of that.

"You, over hear now!" She pointed to Sango. While she retained her pride she was not suicidal. She approached and resigned herself to what was coming.

Soon Sango's face was pressed between the wind sorceress's legs, her tongue and mouth hard at work. Kagura was moaning and gasping, tearing out patches of Sango's hair in her frenzy. Sango's pain and humiliation at being used over and over again as a sex object only heightened her cruel misteress's enjoyment. She was so focused on the act that she didn't even notice the dark cloud before it desended on and devoured them both. Kirara charged it, only to disappear into the purple fog. The mist swept over Kouga's remains and the shell that used to be Kagome, leaving nothing too suggest that they had ever existed.

Inuyasha stopped halfway through disemboweling his latest victim alive. He could no longer smell his slaves. Had Kagura decided to take them for herself? Unlikely, since Kirara was under his complete control and would have stopped her. Then were had they gone?

Telling Kohaku to make himself scarce, Inuyasha headed back toward were he had left his slaves. cloud covered him as he lept through the air, and Inuyasha was no more.

He was in a sea, not of water, but of thought. Thousands upon thousands of minds all thinking. He could only pick out pieces of thought, and from what he could understand they were all quite insane.

A familiar mind. He drifted towards it, already detecting two more he knew. Kagome.

'Why Inuyasha?'

'Because you betrayed me. In that one instant I lost everything but my hatred.' he thought back at her.

'You horrible bastard! I despise you!' Sango's thoughts battered his conciousness.

'Worthless half-breed! This is all your fault!' Kouga thought, his voice growing faint. In moments he was gone, absorbed into the gestalt of Naraku. His weak mind and willpower allowed him to be devoured without even noticing.

'Well, well. Looks like we're going to be together from no on.' Kagura's mind sent to Inuyasha.

'Mabey you will, but not me. I swore I would never be a slave again after her.' He gestured to Kagome with his mind. 'Iwill never submit!'

He focused all of his will, his rage, his lust, his greed, his hate. He could feel himself rising, higher and higher, away from the other minds. He moved forwards, towards the center.

He knew it was near. How he knew, he didn't think about it. This was his only chance.

It was this or oblivion.

He found his target, saw without eyes it's tentacles spread out to every mind in the sea of thought. He moved closer, touching it, taking it in to himself. It struggled at first, nearly getting away from him at one point, but in the end they became one.

Kohaku ran, just as his master told him too. He hadn't seen anyone, but he would kill them if he did, just as master instructed.

A dark cloud drifted overhead, heading towards the boy. He stopped, ready to destroy this new, yet strangely familiar thing.

The cloud flew ahead of him, drifting to the ground and taking shape. Arms, legs, the rough shape of a head. Kohaku saw these as they began to clear, becoming distinct. Two furry ears, long silver hair, claws the color of night.

Master?

Kohaku embraced his master. The being returned the affection, it's crimson eyes glowing in the night.

"I have something for you." He said, opening his palm to reveal the nearly complete shikon jewel. Only one shard was missing.

"Master, this is..."

"Yes. I no longer need it. I have become more powerful then I even imagined was possible."

Kohaku smiled as his master inserted the jewel. He felt it bond with the shard already in his body, at last made whole. Power raced through the boy's small body, exiting every fiber of his being.

"You are no longer human. You are like me now. You will remain as you are now, never aging, forever at my side."

Kohaku wept at being given such a gift. Together, the boy and his master cast off their old lives and headed for unkown lands.

The End

If you haven't already guessed, Inuyasha was absorbed by Naraku. However, he was able to replace the core personality, in essence becoming the new Naraku.
