I decided to get the next chapter up for you to enjoy while I finish of my work, which I expect to be done in oh... lets’ say... a week or so.

Chapter 17. Month 2... A Devious Plan
InuYasha gasped, gripping his brothers shoulders as the larger male demon rocked against him, driving his hips forward as he slid within InuYasha’s tight passage. The hanyou had become far more sensitive to any form of physical sexual activity, making him crave the touch of his mate every hour of every day of every week... of every month, even.
Sesshomaru was not one to complain. He loved to feel his brother beneath him, to know his brother loved him as much as he loved his brother. He licked InuYasha’s more sensitive ears, the hanyou crying out his pleasure as his own erection was being generously stroked between the his brothers and his own abdomens. Sesshomaru growled haughtily into InuYasha’s perk dog ear, licking the outer rim delicately with his tongue.
“God... Sessho,” InuYasha panted, his nails digging deep into Sesshomaru’s bruising shoulders, blood seeping from beneath his dug-in claws. “Harder.”
Sesshomaru growled demonically, his teeth grazing across InuYasha’s jaw-line and down to his heated pulse. He licked the sensitive area, his brother crying out below him as he forced himself back in and then out again, drawing out their love-making for as long as he could.
Truth to be told it was getting harder to stay at such a slow pace.
Sesshomaru lifted himself up just enough to wrap his free hand, the one not entangled into InuYasha’s silver mane and kissing him passionately, and wrapped his pale calloused fingers over the long abandon erection, stroking it quickly. InuYasha’s quick intake of breath made him smirk, knowing his brother was close to his peek.
“Come with me, InuYasha,” Sesshomaru growled.
InuYasha whimpered his reply, bucking into the hand and into his brothers throbbing erection. He wanted to feel more, feel the youkai deeper within him. He wanted to pique his pleasure at the moment Sesshomaru released, knowing it would be all-the-more-sweeter if they were to release together.
He gasped, his head falling back into the thick pillows below his head, his muscles tightening around his brothers length. He released, and he felt the release of his brother, their bodies both going rigid as the last of their own seeds were released. The pulsing lasted longer than it was meant, but being a pregnant, mood swinging, horny hanyou, only made it that much sweeter.
Sesshomaru cared less either way. Whether his brother be pregnant or not at all didn’t really matter as long as he was able to make love to the beautiful creature day in and night out.
He didn’t pull out immediately, wanting to saver the feel and the orgasm they had just witnessed together. He untangled his hand from InuYasha’s hair, brushing his soft fingers across the hanyou’s sweaty face. He dipped down and kissed his lover passionately. Their lips parted, leaving only a small peck before Sesshomaru leaned up fully and lifted his semen-soaked fingers to his lips, savoring the delicious taste as his brother watched.
“Sesshomaru,” InuYasha growled, but his voice was pure lust.
“Is something bothering you, little one?” Sesshomaru asked, though he knew what he was doing to his younger sibling.
Just the sight of seeing his brother lick his fingers clean after making the hanyou’s semen was enough to turn him on a second time. InuYasha, unfortunately, had an appointment he was not allowed to break. Kaede had increased his times to see her from once every other day, to every day at noon... on the dot.
He growled at the thought.
“Is something bothering you love?” Sesshomaru asked, finally lying beside the hanyou, pulling the smaller male into his chest and kissing his shoulder.
“I have to go,” InuYasha muttered.
Sesshomaru understood completely.
“I’ll be back, and we can continue...” InuYasha let his voice trail of suggestively.
Sesshomaru licked his lips quickly. “Don’t keep me waiting.”
InuYasha growled his reply, leaning up to lick his brothers shoulders that were now clotting. He savored the taste of his brothers blood and leaned back down onto the soft pillow, staring into his brothers dark yellow eyes. He had been noticing the colour gradually returning and knew what was happening.
Sesshomaru was slowly, but surely, getting his eyesight back.
His hand trailed down to the mating mark he had placed the youkai’s neck, brushing a gentle claw over the still-fresh mark. He smiled, tears suddenly in his eyes.
“There is no reason to cry, otouto,” Sesshomaru whispered.
“I’m just happy you love me,” InuYasha whispered.
“And I, InuYasha,” Sesshomaru sighed, kissing his brother delicately, “am overjoyed you love me back equally.”
InuYasha felt the tears leak from his eyes, dripping onto the bed below. He cuddled closer into his brothers warm chest, licking at the salty sweaty taste of Sesshomaru’s body. He sighed, closing his eyes. He felt his brothers arm tighten around him, their legs entangled together, the atmosphere within the small hut still holding a lusty air.
“You better get going.”
InuYasha growled hatefully, glaring at his brothers chest. He didn’t want to go, but he had to. Sesshomaru was, of course, right. He hated the fact he wasn’t allowed to stay with his mate for more than a few hours before he was finally interrupted with an examination or one of his friends calling upon him.
“The sooner you go, the sooner you come back,” Sesshomaru whispered, licking his brothers dog ear again.
InuYasha hummed, smiling at the feeling. He looked up, wriggling closer to his brothers lips and pressing his own heatedly to his mates. His tongue brushed against Sesshomaru’s, their desire for one another still thick and needy. Their kiss ended, and InuYasha stood, naked with all his glory.
Sesshomaru growled thickly.
“See something you like?” InuYasha asked seductively.
“I see you, little brother,” Sesshomaru growled, licking his lips.
InuYasha smirked and walked over to his clothes, picking them up from the pile he had left them in. He dressed slowly, teasingly for his mate, taking quick glances behind him as he watched Sesshomaru begin to pant and growl at him, his eyes glittering with such passion and desire, it took all the strength the hanyou had not to jump his brother and let him take him again.
Slowly, Sesshomaru stood, and InuYasha turned. His mouth ran dry, the sheets fluttering from his brothers perfect body, standing in all his naked glory. He swallowed, his eyes wide as he watched the sensual strides of his mate toward him, unable to move away or to look away. He suddenly felt very... very... very hot.
Sesshomaru smirked sexily, wrapping his arms around his brothers waist and pulling him into his hard body. He leaned down, licking the mark he had placed on InuYasha the first time they had mated. He felt his brother stiffen and heard the gentle gasp that escaped his lips.
“Be quick.”
It took all of InuYasha’s demonic strength to nod and turn from his brother and walk out the door. His body was shaking with need once again and he whimpered, his eyes still cloudy and thick with white-hot want. He took a breath to calm himself, his hands quivering to touch Sesshomaru’s perfect body, to have his mouth like the youkai’s large erection, to feel his brother moan and kiss him passionately, to have their bodies pressed...
InuYasha shook his head, just the thought beginning to turn him on again and walked down toward Kaede’s inner village and to her hut. He looked up at the bright blue sky and the deep yellow of the sun as it burned overhead. It was still cold, the snow never melting to the heat, but becoming a heavy slush that was easy to slip and slid in.
“Yasha.”
Rin’s ecstatic voice cut vividly across the flat village grounds, her small frame bounding toward him, black hair blowing through the wind. Her eyes shone with happiness, arms outstretched. Behind her, Shippo bounced along in her path, his mouth also crisped into a delicate smile only a young child could perform.
InuYasha smiled at the pair, leaning down as best he could and held out his arms. Rin dove from over half his entire bodies length away and into his arms, laughing happily. She wrapped her legs around his waist and sat on his hip as he stood fully, one arm under her arms to keep her aloft.
“Rin and Shippo are going to have new babies to play with,” the girl giggled, placing her hand over InuYasha’s rounding stomach.
“Yes, you are,” he said casually.
“InuYasha where have you been?” Shippo cried, pouncing onto the hanyou’s head.
“I’ve been... busy,” InuYasha said with a gentle blush.
“Yasha’s blushing,” Rin giggled.
“No I’m not,” InuYasha said frantically, his blush deepening. “I’m just a little... hot... that’s all.”
“InuYasha... it’s the middle of winter,” Shippo said lazily.
“Quiet you,” InuYasha muttered dangerously.
He let Rin down and stood up, stretching his back with a yawn. He rubbed his more tender rear and rubbed the sleep that was coaxing into his eyes away, letting out another longer yawn. Rin watching him, her big brown eyes beaming at him, hands casually clasped behind her back cutely.
“Where’s Miroku?” InuYasha asked suddenly, knowing the young girl was practically attached to the monks hip.
“Miroku-sama went with Lady Kaede for some herbs for Yasha,” Rin said cutely.
“Did they now,” InuYasha said with a gentle smile. ‘Damn that hag. I could have spent extra time with Sesshomaru. She is so going to get hers when she get’s back.’
“Miroku-sama is cute,” Rin giggled in her cute voice, blushing gently. “But not as cute as Shippo-chan.”
The young kitsune blushed red, rubbing his small hand through his light brown hair. He smiled at Rin, InuYasha raising an eyebrow to the two young children with a knowing smirk on his face. He placed his head on Shippo’s head, ruffling the young kistunes hair.
“You go get ‘er Shippo,” InuYasha whispered.
The young kit smiled brightly, grabbing Rin by the hand and dragging her away with him to play. They both gave InuYasha an innocent wave, which he returned with a gentle smile. He placed a hand over his stomach, a gentle kick as his reply, his smile brightening.
‘Now to Kaede’s.’
*~*~*
The thick fog of darkness filtered over the rustic palace, the whole manner groaning and twisting under it’s own weight. It seemed to weep as it stood, wanting only to crash down and becoming nothing but a pile of wood and rubble. The force that held it up was mere fog, the thick purple dust of miasma that sickly streamed across the thick palace gates and over the torn roof.
Everything was dead and rotting, like all the other palaces before it. This one was had been uncharacteristically long lived in, much longer than any other, that was definitely for sure. There was an odd ora in this palace, the scent on a miko seemed to drip from every corner of the large wooden set. The smell of sex was also present... bloody sex, hateful sex, vengeful sex.
Kagome opened her eyed slowly, her hands bound above her head, a gentle smirk tugging the corner of her right cheek. The body above her position, and without the subtlety of her approval, drove within her and back out, stopped, gazed at her pained expression, and repeated the act more vigorously.
Naraku, a disgusted frown upon his demonic face, flustered in the idea of having sex with such a scathing creature. She was human, a human from another era. She was also the woman who loved InuYasha. That was what made her sullen punishment so deliciously sweet. She was in love with the improper hanyou, yet he had chosen another, a male other, over her.
She whimpered below him, struggling again the thick binds and cried out, the pathetic tears of pain washing down her flushed cheeks. Her eyes shone with hurt, but held a small amount of amusement to them. Her body went rigid as the thick organ that continued to mutilate her was pulled out and slid low, pushing against a second entrance.
Her eyes widened.
Naraku snarled, gripping her hair tightly in his pale hand as he held her down, thrusting forward and hissing out his pleasure. She wanted to cry out, but her voice failed, cracking under the extreme pain, her head tilted back painfully into the headboard as the process was repeated for a second time, and a third, and a forth.
He pulled her up from the bed and leaned down, biting her bottom lip, her lips trembling as the blood seeped between her thighs and parted mouth. He lapped the crimson fluid, smirking at the dull salty taste of her tears and the tarnished silk of her blood. He loved it, seeing her flustered and in pain below his body, her own writhing and twisting in pain and in sorrow.
He continued his assault, thrusting to elicit pain, not pleasure. He hissed and snarled, grasping one of her breasts and squeezing it in his clawed hand, breaking the skin painfully and lapping at the oozing liquid. He thrust harder, deeper, more determined now as he came close, his mind reeling, the miko suddenly gone, replaced by another.
Sesshomaru, the beautiful male dog demon lord lay below him, gazing at him through the thick black lashes and hued skin of gentle pink. His eyes evoked love and lust, pleasure and want. He moaned with all his passion, rocking against the sensual hips of the male above him, crying out for more.
And before he could continue with his fantasy, Naraku went rigid, growling and snarling his pleasure like a rabid beast. He felt the shuddering weakness of the human scum below him and smirked, fulfilling his greatest desire, and hers. She wished to mate with that worthless hanyou, to become him, to bare his children and to grow old beside him. She was unable now, he having been chosen by another.
She had hated it from the start, knowing that her hanyou, yes... her hanyou... had been marked by his unruly brother and was now about to birth the youkai’s children. She had gone with Naraku only to fulfil her own fantasies, and had succeeded like he. They had both done one another a favor, but the favor was undone.
“I have a proposition for you,” Naraku said as he pulled out, a pinkish fluid dripping from within the girl onto the wooden floor.
“You already said that,” Kagome muttered, her body aching with pain. “Why not just tell me what it is so I can get out of here.”
“Is that really what you want,” Naraku said with an acidic tone and a crazed smirk. “Do you wish to go back to the village, to see your beloved InuYasha in the arms of his brother?”
Kagome was silent, her eyes taking on a dark gleam.
“No... then I will tell you,” Naraku said, pleased at her silence. “I want you to return to the village, young miko.”
“Is that all?” Kagome snapped, glaring at the spider demon.
“Why would that be all?” he asked innocently.
She was silent again.
“Return to the village, and wait the final months of InuYasha’s pregnancy. During the first week before their birth, you will notice he will become weaker, tired and drained.”
“Why?”
“Pups take a lot of energy to birth, especially when they are a demons. Since he bares four within him, he will undoubtedly become extremely weak and frail,” Naraku explained.
“So, what is it you want *me* to do?” Kagome asked with a tugging smirk.
“Kill the pups.”
It was a simple demand she would gladly carry out.
“Wont InuYasha have regained his strength once they are born?” Kagome asked, sitting up against her bindings.
“During the first few weeks after birth, the mother of the child becomes ill, leaving her mate to take care of the youngling until she is no longer ina weaker state,” Naraku said, casually leaning back against the wooden wall. “InuYasha will be down ill for quite a time, giving you the opportunity to strike.”
“What about Sesshomaru?”
“Do not worry about him,” Naraku said quietly, giving a knowing smirk. “I will deal with Lord Sesshomaru.”
“You are truly evil, Naraku,” Kagome said politely.
“Thank you, young priestess.”
*~*~*
InuYasha sat cross-legged in Kaede’s hut, the small fire within the pit burned gently, the licks of flame giving off enough light and heat to warm and brighten the small wooden home. He sighed, growling that the monk and hag hadn’t returned. He was beginning to become impatient and was about ready to just return to Sesshomaru.
Just as he was about to stand, brush down his rat-skin kimono, and walk out without a word, the blinds that hung within the doorway pushed forward, revealing the old priestess and monk at her side, both carrying baskets filled with herbs and spices.
“Took you long enough,” InuYasha snuffed.
“Your moody today,” Miroku said with a note of amusement.
“Ye need to keep yourself calm InuYasha, for the pups sakes,” Kaede said wisely.
“Whatever.”
“Please, take your place InuYasha,” Kaede said, signaling toward the bed. “This shall not take long.”
“Why are you so moody InuYasha?” Miroku asked as the hanyou stood and lay on the small futon.
“None of your business,” InuYasha snapped.
Miroku sighed, placing his basket down on the floor and stretching his back. He watched vividly as Kaede propped herself at the end of the bed, gripping InuYasha’s ankles and pulling him closer, a gasp escaping his lips. Miroku smirked and InuYasha flustered, staring at the monk and then glaring at his stare.
“Got anything better to do,” the hanyou growled.
“I do actually,” Miroku said, placing a finger to his chin. “Rin wanted to play with me earlier, but I was busy. I think I shall go now.”
He left, the blinds sagging back into place and Kaede prepared the hanyou. He sighed, placing his head back onto the bed and taking a breath, knowing what was to come, and that he wasn’t going to enjoy it. He moved his bottom lip into his mouth, a fang gently brushing his lip in preparation.
“Take a breath, InuYasha,” Kaede instructed.
Without a second word, she placed that same instrument she had used before, the first time the hanyou had been in pain, into him. He arched, biting hard on his lower lip as that same heated burning returned for it’s revenge. It felt like red-hot pokers were being jabbed into his body, burning him from the inside, making him bleed.
He knew there was no blood, but it definitely felt like their was. Just like before, a wave of cold rushed over his body and he shuddered. He didn’t blackout this time, squeezing his eyes shut and grasping the sheets tightly in his hands. He growled, his claws digging through the white sheets and into the futon below.
“Alright,” Kaede said, warning him she was about to continue onto the second stage. “Take another breath.”
He did so, and that was it, he cried out, snarling and growling loudly. He tried his hardest not to pull away, but it was becoming damn hard. He shuddered out a breath, his eyes opening to reveal their pained expression. He felt something powdery enter him and the instrument was removed, his body slumping back onto the bed, his heart racing in his chest, sweat slicked to his brow.
He hated his appointments.
Kaede stood slowly, walking over to her water basin and dipped a bowl in. She returned to the bed and placed it near the hanyou, standing up again and returning to the basin a second time, placing her hands in the water to clean them.
InuYasha sat up slowly, knowing it was going to be sorer than when he and Sesshomaru had sex. He drank slowly, taking a breath before downing the rest and slumping back onto the bed, knowing his check-up wasn’t finished.
Kaede returned to his side this time, opening the front of his katana and pressing her hands to his rounded belly. She nodded, and moved her hands to a new spot, and nodded again. She did that again two more times, nodding each in approval and leaning back, allowing InuYasha to sit up.
“They have very healthy heartbeats,” KAede said reassuringly. “For how fast they are growing, I’d say they should be born within... the next four months.”
“That soon,” InuYasha said with amazement.
“Most demons have their children within the first four months. Dog, coyote, fox or wolf demons have theirs in the first six,” Kaede explained. “Humans must wait nine months, and cats only three and a half...”
“Thank you Kaede,” InuYasha said, cutting off her words. “I was only surprised about the months, not about the whole birthing cycle of every other demon out there.”
“I understand,” Kaede said with a nod.
“Can I go?” InuYasha asked, standing up.
“Yes, of course.”
He gave her a nod and left, Sango appearing before him. He jumped in surprise, placing a hand over his heart and stomach. She also looked surprised, but smiled at him and held out his bag of herbs and spices he received everyday. He took it and placed it in his kimono.
“Sorry I was late, but Miroku wanted to talk to me,” Sango said apologetically.
“About what?” InuYasha asked, suddenly curious.
“Oh... nothing,” Sango said untruthfully with a blush.
“Really,” InuYasha muttered, leaning down to be at her eye level. “Your lying Sango, I can tell.”
“Honestly,” she said defensively, holding up her hands, the blush deepening.
“What did he say to you?” InuYasha asked, smirking.
“Hey... have you seen Kagome?” Sango asked, avoiding the subject and suddenly noticing th miko wasn’t around.
InuYasha looked around, noticing the village missing the young girl. He crossed his brows in confusion, placing his hands within his kimono and crossed them. She had been missing since last night, or at least that was what it seemed. Her sent wasn’t as fresh as it was supposed to be, meaning she had either gone home or gotten lost.
“No... I haven’t... not since last month,” InuYasha said truthfully.
“I saw her following you quite a while ago,” Sango said, looking out over the village. “It was just after you had you check-up with Kaede and I gave you your herbs.”
“I talked to her briefly,” InuYasha said with a nod. “She looked a little down.”
“Can you blame her?” Sango asked, cocking her head.
“What do you mean?”
“She was in love with you InuYasha,” Sango said softly, “but you were taken by another.”
“I do love her... just not... like she loves me,” he whispered.
“I know,” Sango sighed. “She’s just finding it hard to deal with you and Sesshomaru.”
“So this is all my fault,” InuYasha muttered, his eyes suddenly teary.
Sango looked at him shocked, seeing the tears brimming his golden orbs. She didn’t know what to say, or what to do. She had never been around a mood-swinging demon before, especially not a male one, that was definitely for sure.
“InuYasha... it’s not your fault,” Sango said soothingly.
“Then who’s is it?” he snapped, the tears dripping from his eyes, his voice holding a dangerous not of anger.
“I don’t know but it’s not yours,” Sango said, keeping her voice neutral.
InuYasha growled, the tears disappearing from his eyes as he marched down the stairs. He turned back to Sango with a normal expression, even though his eyes showed nothing but annoyance and anger.
“You better tell me what that monk said later,” he warned.
She blushed, stunned, as he turned away and walked back toward the edge of the village. The air moving across his body calmed him and he took a deep breath, needing it badly. He knew Kagome had been acting weird since the beginning, but her disappearing was an annoyance to him. She had probably just gone back to her own time to get away from him and the madness that had been going around the village.
InuYasha opened to door to his hut, ready to pounce on his mate the moment he saw him sitting calmly and waiting. He didn’t expect not seeing the youkai, the room empty, the sheets neatly laid across the bed, the scent of his brother barely noticeable.
He paled, suddenly fearing the worst for his mate, the thought wrenching at his heart, making him whimper. He tore into the room, looking under the bed, ripping open the pillows and tossing the sheets away. He turned, looking to the door and dashed our, bounding into the woods aimlessly. He panted, stopping in one of the tall oaks and sniffing the air, his brothers scent drifting from the river.
‘Where are you?’
He jumped to the ground and ran full speed toward the river, stopping at the edge and looking around, his eyes wide as he scanned aimlessly for the presence of his brother. He looked up suddenly, hearing the crashing sound of the waterfall to his right. He ran toward it, the image of his brother suddenly appearing beneath the falls.
He cried a sigh of relief as Sesshomaru opened his eyes and grabbed him in time when he jumped at him. InuYasha cuddled into his brother, rubbing his head into the bare chest as he whimpered again. He licked his brothers shoulder and sighed, feeling the water splash and splutter around them.
Suddenly, he was angry.
“Where were you?” InuYasha snapped, pulling out of his brothers arms.
“InuYasha?” Sesshomaru said confused.
“I went back to the hut and you weren’t their. I thought something had happened to you,” the hanyou barked angrily.
“When you left I decided to do some meditating,” the taiyoukai said earnestly.
InuYasha’s eyes went wide and puppyish, tears welling up in his big yellow orbs. His shoulders shook as he let the tears slip down his cheeks, feeling suddenly sad. Sesshomaru stepped forward out of the downpour of water and grabbed his brother, pulling the hanyou into his arms. InuYasha punched his chest weakly, his sobs wracking through him as he cried.
“I was s-so worried,” he cried.
“Calm yourself InuYasha,” Sesshomaru soothed. “I am here now.”
“Don’t do it again,” InuYasha whispered. “Don’t scare me like that again.”
“I will not,” Sesshomaru assured him. “I promise you.”
InuYasha shuddered again, his tears still streaming down his eyes. He felt Sesshomaru cup his chin and lift his head gently, their eyes meeting. He could see all the seriousness behind his elder brothers eyes before he leaned down and kissed InuYasha on the lips with more passion than either thought possible.
InuYasha responded, wrapping his arms around Sesshomaru’s neck and deepened their already passionate kiss into one of fire and love. He moaned, his tongue shyly dipping out to play along Sesshomaru’s sensual one. They broke apart, InuYasha humming happily with a smirk on his face as his brother leaned down and licked his neck.
“We made a deal...” Sesshomaru whispered, nipping InuYasha’s tender neck. “... that we were going to continue what we started earlier.”
InuYasha merely whimpered his reply as Sesshomaru whisked him off the ground and walked back into the forest and toward their hut.
*~*~*
Kagome walked through the darkness, pulling her coat tighter. She sighed, limping slightly as the fence into the village appeared through the thick cluster of birch and oaks. She smiled, quickening her steps into a run. Her breath came out short, small puffs resounding into the air behind her as she moved.
“Sango, Shippo,” she called. “Miroku, I’m back.”
She looked around, spotting the children of the village playing happily in the snow, Miroku among them, Rin giggling at his side, Shippo prancing around them happily. Sango walked toward them slowly from Kaede’s hut, smiling at the happy group.
Kagome sighed, walking toward them slowly, her heart swelling happily at the sight of her friends. She heard Shippo squeal happily, the young kitsune bounding toward her with a gleeful smile on his bright young face. She laughed, bending down as he jumped into her open arms. She hugged him tightly.
“Kagome, where did you go?” Shippo asked. “We were so worried. You were gone such a long time.”
“You mean you, Sango and Miroku?” Kagome asked, noticing her friends walking toward her now.
“Not just us, but Rin too,” Shippo said brightly. “Even InuYasha was worried.”
Kagome stilled at the name.
“Are you alright Kagome-chan?” Sango asked, noticing the girls pale face.
“What... oh. Yes, I’m fine,” she replied brightly.
“Where were you Kagome, we were all very worried about you,” Miroku said.
“Oh... I was... I went home,” Kagome lied.
“Really. Why?” Rin asked.
“I was really cold, so I decided to grab a blanket from my time,” Kagome said.
“Your time?” Rin said puzzled.
“I’ll explain it to you later Rin-chan,” Shippo said.
The girl nodded.
“Where’s the blanket?” Sango asked, looking at the girls bare arms.
“What... oh... I must have accidentally left it at the well,” Kagome laughed, waving with her hands. “I’ll go get it now.”
She placed Shippo on the ground and ran back toward the village exit, needing to hurry back to her time and grab a blanket and return before the others began to get worried or wonder about her sudden disappearance more than they should.
“That was odd,” Sango said.
“Yes, it was,” Miroku agreed.
“Didn’t she seem a little more out of a it and jumpy than usual?” Sango asked.
Miroku nodded.
“I wonder what’s wrong?” Sango sighed.
“Shippo-chan,” Rin said, turning to her fox friend. “What did she mean by ‘my time?’”
“Don’t worry about it Rin,” Miroku said. “Well tell you after we eat. I’m starving.”
“Me too,” Sango said cheerfully.
“Come on Rin,” Shippo yipped, grabbing the girls hand in his own and pulling her toward Kaede’s hut. “Let’s go get something to eat so we can play some more.”
The young girl giggled and nodded, letting her friend pull her along. Sango smiled at them and began to walk, Miroku beside her. She felt the monk place his hand in hers and she blushed, looking away as the pink hue spread across her cheeks.
He looked down at her and smiled, entwining their fingers as they took the steps one at a time up to Kaede’s small home. He held the curtain aside for her and she gave him a shy peck on the lips before entering, her blush deepening at his soft smile.
*~*~*
Kagome slowed her running, approaching the well slowly. She sighed and turned around, sitting on the edge of the door between her world and the one she was in. Her head flopped into her hand sand she groaned, the plan almost backfiring already. She’d have to more cautious and careful around her friends now.
Still, Naraku’s words echoed in her ear, pounding against her head like a hammer. She looked up at the sky, the sun setting earlier in the winter time. She watched the yellow ball of fire descend toward the mountains in the west, ready to reveal the night, and bring on the new day.
‘Kill the pups...’
His very words, so clear and angry as he spoke them. She dropped into the well and back to her time, wanting to just grab her blanket, return back ,wait out the final months and rid InuYasha of his stupid pups so he could be hers again...
Forever.

A/N: Man am I tired. You wouldn’t believe the professors. They dumped a shit-load of homework in the classes lap and now I have two essays to write, an English Literature exam in two weeks and a Sociology diploma final coming up. Chapter 17.
Forever.
