Last time:

"Good" Inuyasha says "I will allow you to bring my mate back to the village when she's done talking to Rin, I need to go to the village with Shippo for that talk"

"I will tell her" Sesshamoru says

"Shippo, let's go" Inuyasha orders

"Right!" Shippo jumps onto Inuyasha's shoulder and they head off.

Chapter 17: Rin

Kagome follows Rin up to her room where she sees Shippo's sleeping bag still on the floor. "Did Shippo leave that here on purpose?" Kagome asks

"He must've forgot it was here" Rin says as she sits on the bed. Kagome sits next to her. Kagome explains everything she knows about mating with a demon to Rin, rather embarassingly. "So, Rin, do you have any questions on all that?" Kagome asks

"Not really" Rin answers

"I'm going to go home then, have Sesshamoru come get me if you need me"

"I will" Rin says "Will Shippo still be allowed to visit?"

"Yes" Kagome answers

"Good" Rin says

"Can he come back as soon as you allow him, please?"

"Sure" Kagome says and leaves the room and goes to the main room.

"Inuyasha?"

"Have you explained to Rin?" Sesshamoru asks coming from another room.

"Pretty much" Kagome answers "Then I'll take you back to your village, it'll be quicker this way"

"What about Inuyasha?"

"He took the cub home, to explain everything to him. He told me to bring you back to the village for him, and I agreed"

"Thank you" Sesshamoru grabs Kagome and uses his speed to go to the village.

Meanwhile, in Rin's room. Rin sits on her bed, thinking about what Kagome told her. Rin's door opens and Kagura steps in. "I'm not usually rude, but I have overheard what Kagome said to you, and I know how Sesshamoru cares for you, as if your his own"

"Lady Kagura, do you have something to add to what Kagome said?" Rin asks

"Actually I was just going to clarify a few things" Kagura answers and sits on the bed, next to Rin. "Sesshamoru never wants you to mate. He fears he will lose your love and admiration"

"I'll always love Lord Sesshamoru, he's like a father to me" Rin says

"I know Rin" Kagura says "I was just going to tell you that when demon's take their mates, if they're not other demons they choose if they age or not."

"How do you know this?"

"I was given this speech a long time ago, I figure I could tell you that much" Kagura answers

"Why would you tell me this?"

"I wish to bear Lord Sesshamoru a child"

"That's great!"

"Unfortunately, he will not allow it because he fears that he will lose your love if he has a child. So he refuses until you've either mated, or died"

"Thank you, Lady Kagura for telling me the truth"

"You are welcome" She says "Now, I must be off, don't tell Sesshamoru I told you about the mating or he'll never allow Shippo back here, fearing that you indeed would mate"

"Not a problem" Kagura leaves the room, leaving Rin to think about everything.
