“Sessh.. Are you just gonna stand there or are you going to help me with the dammed stroller?” Inuyasha growled out as he carried his 1 year old son on one hip and tried to find the rest of the stuff they'd need for the trip with the other.

“Do you not think you've bought enough already? How many teething rings is he going to need?” Sesshoumaru asked with a semi-cold, semi bored tone. They had been at the baby store for 2 hours now. Emily was having the time of her life at the store next door, just buying clothes that would be good for a trip into the forest for a small family vacation. The first since baby Touga had been born. Sesshoumaru was doing it because he could tell Inuyasha was starting to feel closed in being too long in the city. The demon lord came over and got the stroller while now standing near his mate. “Put him down Inuyasha you do not need to hold him constantly.” He added. Of course he hadn't thought suggesting a vacation into the forest meant a mountain of baby needs to get.

“If I don't hold him he starts crying, and I don't want that in the middle of the store. Neither do you. Now shut up and get the rest of the stuff if you don't want to just stand there.” Inuyasha growled out, putting another 10 teething rings into the basket that was in the stroller. He watched his mate roll his eyes and go towards the baby clothes. Baby Touga just watched it all and whined, giving his birther a pout. Inuyasha handed his son a teething ring, and the baby started chewing on it immediately. Already his little fangs where cutting through it. Inuyasha watched that and sighed. “I hate the teething stage...” Inuyasha groaned out moving the stroller closer to Sesshoumaru so he could put the diapers and the clothes down.

“I thought you hated the crawling stage.” Sesshoumaru said with a small teasing smirk.

“Yeah... Well now I hate this one... And remember you're chasing his little ass when he starts running. I already chased Emily.” Inuyasha said giving his mate a teasing smirk back.

“I don't see that as a huge problem.” Sesshoumaru countered.

“Yeah...Wait till you're doing it.” Inuyasha said laughing and looked down to his son. “Right... We're gonna drive father insane. I know you are.” Inuyasha said tickling his son's tummy making the baby laugh and giggle loudly. Sesshoumaru watched that and shook his head.

“Talking to him like that is not going to help him learn to speak properly. You realize that.” Sesshoumaru said putting in the last of the diapers they'd need.

“You realize I don't give five craps. I was the one cut open so I can talk to him how ever I want.” Inuyasha said with a smirk to Sesshoumaru. He looked at everything and counted. “I think that will be enough...” He said heading to the cashier. Sesshoumaru followed with the stroller. “You're sure the forest is still there?” Inuyasha asked.

“Yes.” Sesshoumaru said raising an eyebrow when a scent he had not picked up in centuries drifted to his nose, even with all the baby scents in the air. He looked out and saw her. Wide, shocked human eyes looking at him as if she'd seen a ghost. She looked to Inuyasha and just gasped more. Sesshoumaru just growled in his mind. Annoying bitch couldn't just go to the past and die already? Of course miko could see through their fox magic veil. She could see exactly who they were. Inuyasha had not noticed. He had not smelled her, and his attention was too focused on the shopping and little Touga to really notice. “I am going to check on Emily.” Sesshoumaru said leaning over kissing the top of Inuyasha's head, and then doing the same for Touga. When Inuyasha nodded he walked out of the store.

She saw him coming towards her and got a huffy, angry look on her face. Sesshoumaru grabbed her arm and pulled her away from the store window. “You will not be allowed to speak to him.” Sesshoumaru said with the killer, frozen tone he used to have back when she knew him.

“But... That.... You... Why... I thought...” She said still shocked, Clearly trying to wrap her mind around everything. “You..didn't come through the well.... You've been..... I... You're supposed to be dead...”

Sesshoumaru chuckled darkly at that. “We are not human...We will live on long after even your entire family has passed from this earth.” He explained.

“Why haven't I seen you before...? Why …? If Inuyasha is alive... has been alive... Why...?” She said just getting teary eyed.

“He is not your Inuyasha any longer... He is mine... And he buried you centuries ago. He cried for you for a century. Do not bring up old wounds now, miko.” Sesshoumaru said coldly.

She seemed to gasp at this, but then understood. “So... But.. He'll be mine.. then... For even a little while...? Will he be mine?” She asked looking up to Sesshoumaru with those misty, human eyes, just begging.

“He will give you your life time of dreams and happiness...He will be the mate you wish him to be.” Sesshoumaru said looking down to the miko wondering what his brother ever saw in these humans romantically. She was crying now.... again... He just rolled his eyes softly and headed back to the store.

“The baby...?” She asked again...

“His name is Touga... He is ours...” Sesshoumaru said stopping and turning to look at her. “He always hated that he could not give you offspring... I consider it good fortune...” Sesshoumaru said.

She looked to him surprised. “How.... ? Why...?”

“He was too young when you had him... Teen inu do not reproduce... Hanyou mature even slower... By the time he was able... You where already too old and near death. Inuyasha is a breeder he can reproduce both ways. I am alpha, he gives me pups.” Sesshoumaru said.

She sighed sadly at that, and just smiled softly after thinking about him. “Does... he still... think about me?” She asked.

“Your name still makes him cry... We do not mention it.” Sesshoumaru said watching her. Everything seemed to make her cry. He wondered why that was... Was she sorry for causing him such pain? For being human? For dying? Or was she sorry he did not mourn her forever? It was so hard to tell with humans.

“Should... I … Even.. go back to him? I'm going to hurt him so much?” She said softly looking to the ground.

“He would not understand.. If you left him you will break him more than your dying did.” Sesshoumaru explained. She just smiled softly and looked up to Sesshoumaru.

“Then i'll just... Make him the happiest he can be while I have him.” She said getting an understanding smile on her face, and then turning and leaving.

“Kagome.....??!!!” Inuyasha called out rushing over to them. Sesshoumaru grabbed his arm and pulled him to him. The miko did not stop, she just kept running with her book bag on her back rushing to school. Sesshoumaru sighed and just held his mate. He felt the wet on his clothes, and just sighed, mentally cursing.

“Your Kagome is dead little brother... She is not yours.” Sesshoumaru said softly. Emily moved, coming over confused, with Touga in her arms. Sesshoumaru shook his head, and she did not question. “Come, little brother... We have a vacation to go too.” Sesshoumaru said pulling his mate back towards their suv.

“I got everything loaded in.” Emily said gently. Inuyasha seemed to snap out of it after a while. He looked to Sesshoumaru with a questioning look. Sesshoumaru mentally sighed and just looked to the road.

“Do not ask questions to which you will not like the answers, little brother... Nothing has changed.” Sesshoumaru said calmly, while driving down the busy japan streets heading towards the forest Inuyasha loved so much.

“You... didn't... tell her to leave me?” Inuyasha asked softly looking away from his brother.

“Why would I do that? She was important to you... Besides, that is the past to me. She is the past. Something you need to remember.” Sesshoumaru said. Inuyasha sighed and looked out the window.

“Have you noticed how the people I love seem to come back to haunt me when I have a new love?” Inuyasha said with an annoyed tone. It wasn't really a question. Not really, He was just thinking out loud. “Are you going to die on me too?” He asked now looking to Sesshoumaru, who just chuckled darkly.

“I believe you are the one that came out to father... Not I. So I suppose I should be asking you that question.” Sesshoumaru said giving his mate a smirk.

“What..? You think I’d die for your stuck up ass? Please!” Inuyasha said with a small “Keh!” and just started laughing. Sesshoumaru just smirked and continued driving. At least his mind was off that miko bitch again.

“I am hurt and wounded little brother...” Sesshoumaru said teasing.

“Keh! Turn into a damsel in distress then if you want me to save your ass!” Inuyasha said smirking back to his mate.

The rest of the trip went silent, except for the few times Touga would cry, and Inuyasha would lean back there pretty much putting his ass up to Sesshoumaru's view while he was stuck in the middle of the two front seats tending to his son. “You realize Emily is back there, you do not have to do that.” Sesshoumaru said.

“She's just learning what to do, Sessh... When she knows I'll leave it to her.” Inuyasha said. Sesshoumaru just shook his head and tried to concentrate on the road. Thankfully soon the forest came into view and he was able to park at the edges of it. Inuyasha straightened himself out and looked at it, like it was best thing in the world. Shippou and Kanji came out from the edges off it and waved.

“I was starting to think you all weren’t gonna make it.” Shippou said coming over to the car.

“Your father had to buy the entire Japanese collection of teething rings and diapers.” Sesshoumaru said coming out of the car with his normal tone, as he tried to control himself and not attack and pump Inuyasha right there.

“He's teething?! What the fuck do ya want me to do about it? He goes through these things like water.” Inuyasha said bringing out all the stuff, picking up his son, while the others just carried everything else. “Did you find a good camp site?”

“Yeah, it's perfect near a hot spring and everything.” Shippou said. “Not too far from the graves. I figured you'd want to say hi while you're here.” Shippou added. Sesshoumaru did not tell them how silly they sounded. 'They' where dead, and what could dead have to say that one would wish to speak with them. But he said nothing and just carried their packs.

“Yeah, I do. Thanks, Shippou.” Inuyasha said as they walked into the forest. Emily just looking at everything with wonder.

“This is really where you grew up, daddy?” Emily asked curiously.

“Yeah, This whole region was where I grew up, just pretty much wild out here.” Inuyasha said with a smirk as he finally cut loose after handing his son over to Sesshoumaru who could carry him more safely. Once he felt truly free, Inuyasha just grinned and took off. He just started running full speed. Like he used too back then. Feeling the air rushing past him, smelling the forest, everything. Sesshoumaru and the others just watched as they calmly made their way to the camp site, deep in the heart of the forest. Soon enough they where there and Sesshoumaru was putting down the blanket and placing Touga on it, so the baby could crawl happily.

“I lost track of him.” Shippou said with a laugh as he helped set up their tents.

“He will find us.” Sesshoumaru said without worry, getting out a bottle for his son and feeding it to him. “She saw us...I think she was going to school..” He said with an almost silent tone. Shippou raised an eyebrow at that, with clear worry.

“Did he?” Shippou asked not even wanting to finish the question.

“No, I spoke to her, prevented her from going to him. I think she understood.” Sesshoumaru said. “He did see her, but thankfully she knew to keep running.”

Shippou nodded in silence and just sighed. “He seems okay now though.” He added.

“I hope he is.” Sesshoumaru said looking out to the forest with a small tinge of worry. “Here, look after them. I will be back soon.” Sesshoumaru said handing the bottle to Shippou. After giving his son and daughter one last look he took off into the forest following his brother's scent.

Soon enough he found him. Right where he expected him to be. He looked to the still standing old stones that signaled his fallen friend's graves and just stayed concealed behind a tree to give Inuyasha his privacy.

I wish you guys could be here to tell me if this was okay... You'd probably tell me that if he makes me happy it shouldn't be a problem. That I deserve to be happy...” Inuyasha said looking up to the stones.

“You do...” Sesshoumaru said gently coming out from behind the tree, and coming over to his mate. He gently wrapped his arms around Inuyasha, and kissed the top his head, moving over to his ear. “They would want you happy little brother. I highly doubt they would care with who it was.” He said hugging his mate to him. “Come, you can come back later. I have Shippou and Kanji watching Touga, and Emily. We can have time to ourselves.” Sesshoumaru said licking the side of Inuyasha's neck. “How about we take a little walk.”
