Sesshomaru and the Forgiving Soul

Chapter 15:



Kagome woke the next morning and reached for the book. She had dreamt of Asturda and Rikuto and wanted to see if anything else was written about them. Kagome flipped through the book and came across another entry about the Miko Mark.



‘There are many humans who have mated with demons. There is one miko who mated with a demon. Her name was Himoko. She traveled all over Japan and helped humans in need. One day during her travels she came across a demon that was severely injured. She took the demon to a cave and nursed him back to health. During their extended time together they fell in love. The demon took her back to his palace and mated her. During their mating she obtained her Mark. The next day she became a demon. Because her power levels were completely under control she was able to turn into a demon.



‘Her mate tried to help her adjust but she was not able to handle her transformation and killed herself. The demon mourned her loss and soon after died himself.’ Kagome put the book down and got out of bed. She was thinking about what would happen to her if she mated Sesshomaru. Chances are she would turn into a demon herself. Would she be able to handle the change? Or would she kill herself like Himoko did?



Mika knocked on the door before entering and helped Kagome get dressed. Today Kagome was wearing a light pink kimono with long leaves. There were dark pink flower petals spiraling around the kimono. The obi was dark pink. Mika pulled her hair up into a bun and placed dark pink hair sticks in her hair. Mika left and Kagome picked up her book and left her room. Takio was standing outside her door.



“Good morning General.” He bowed in response. Kagome walked to the gardens and sat under the weeping willow and opened her book again. She skimmed over several pages before she was interrupted.



“Lady Kagome. Lord Sesshomaru requests that you come to the entrance hall.”



“Thank you General.” Kagome closed her book and made her way to the entrance hall. As she entered her saw her friends and the children. Kagome walked calmly over to Sesshomaru. The children both ran to her and attacked her legs.



“Momma! We heard that you were sick. Are you better now?” Rin looked up at Kagome expectantly.



“You don’t look sick anymore.” Shippo stood next to Rin and crossed his arms. Kagome laughed.



“Kagome! We were so worried about you. Are you okay?” Sango hugged Kagome and spun her around.



“I’m fine. Lord Sesshomaru has been taking care of me.” Miroku stepped up to them and grabbed Kagome into a hug of his own. Kagome waited for the monk to grope her like he usually did. When he released her she frowned.



“Are you okay Miroku?”



“Of course Lady Kagome.” Kagome eyes him wearily. She bent down and gave both kids a hug and kiss.



“Sesshomaru, let’s go to the audience hall to talk.” Sesshomaru nodded and walked across the large room. Everyone fell in behind him. Kagome saw Mika and gestured for her. Mika came over and bowed.



“Could you bring tea for everyone to the audience chamber?”



“At once my lady.” Mika bowed once more and ran off. Kagome walked into the audience chamber and saw everyone else already seated. Sesshomaru gestured again to the seat on his right. Kagome walked over to him and sat on the pillow. A moment latter Mika and one other servant walked into the room with tea. Kagome waited for everyone to get some tea before beginning.



“I’m so glad that you are here. I’ve talked with Sesshomaru and I’m going to stay here for the next month with him.” Sesshomaru took a sip of his tea followed by Kagome. Everyone else was so shocked that they didn’t even raise their tea cups.



“Yeah! Momma is going to stay with Rin and Daddy!” Shippo looked sad.



“Are you sure this is what you want Kagome?” Sango asked.



“Yes. We’ve talked it over and Sesshomaru has agreed to allow you to stay here with me until I decide to leave.” Miroku took a sip of his tea and nodded.



“I think that we can stay here if that is what you want.” Kagome picked up Shippo and set him in her lap.



“What about you? Would you like to stay here with Rin?” Shippo nodded and hugged her. Kagome returned the hug before placing him back on the floor. She looked over at her sister.



“Sango?” The slayer looked at her sister with knowing eyes. The intense gaze made Kagome shift a little.



“Okay, we’ll stay here with you.” Sango finally picked up her tea and sipped from it. Kagome grinned.



“Perfect. I’ll have Mika set up rooms for everyone.” Kagome took another sip from her tea.



“Kagome.” She looked over at Sesshomaru with a raised brow. “There is to be a meeting of the other lords here at my palace in four days time. This event will include a ball as well. You and your guests will have to make an appearance.” Kagome nodded.



“I’m sure that I have a formal kimono in my room somewhere.” Kagome thought to herself for a few moments. “Sesshomaru, if it’s alright with you I’d like to go ahead and coordinate my friend’s clothes.” Sesshomaru nodded.



“Should you need a seamstress, her name is Tankia.” Kagome smiled up at the demon lord before finishing her tea.



“Come, I’ll have Mika take you to your rooms to settle in.” Kagome bowed slightly to Sesshomaru before standing and leading the others out of the room. “Rin, take Shippo up to your room, okay?”



“Okay momma!” Rin grabbed Shippo’s hand and led him up to the lords wing of the palace.



“Mika, could you show my friends to their rooms and could you point me in the direction of the seamstress?” Mika bowed deeply to her before replying.



“At once my lady. The seamstress is located in the eastern side of the castle. I will betaking the guests to the northern guest rooms.”



“Thank you Mika. I’ll see you at dinner.” With that Kagome spun and went in search of the seamstress.
